Hey guys! Hope you enjoy this chapter! That is all

"Hello?" Blaine said, voice muffled.

"Hey Blaine! How are you? It's been a little while since we talked." Kurt asked, taking not of the quietness to his voice and the softness of his tone.

It takes Blaine a few seconds to answer, as if he is contemplating whether or not he is okay. Kurt notices the pause but doesn't say anything about it.

"I'm alright, how are you?" This time Kurt hears a door opening and closing behind him and then the noise of clanking and music comes through the phone as Blaine goes quiet again.

"Where are you?" Kurt asks, even though he is pretty sure where he is based on the background sounds.

"One sec Kurt." Once again Bline sounds drained, as if he hasn't had a night of good sleep in the last few days. Again though, Kurt doesn't comment on it.

"Hi mam, no the showers are going to be down that hall and to your left, there's lockers there as well." Blaine says, obviously not directed at Kurt. He hears a muffled thanks from the woman and Blaine talks again to grab his attention.

"Sorry about that Kurt, are you still there?"

"Yep I'm here, I'm assuming you're at the gym right now?"

"That I am, how perceptive of you Mr. Hummel." Blaine replies jokingly, the smirk obvious in his voice.

"Well thank you Mr. Anderson, i was wondering if you wanted to get some dinner or something" Realizing that it sounded like he was asking Blaine out and becoming immediately flustered, he rattles on. "I mean because we haven't talked in a while, and my family already ate while they were out so I don't have any plans and -"

"I'm sorry Kurt I can't today, I'm about to finish my shift here and then i have plans for the rest of the night. Maybe another time?" Blaine falls silent after almost rushing through his apology. Kurt cant help the crappy feeling he gets in his chest at the feeling that Blaine might not like him. If anything Kurt knows he wants to keep Blaine as a friend, they get along well and they have a lot in common.

"Alright, It's not problem don't worry about it, I'll text 'Cedes or Rachel or something and see if they want to do something, have a good rest of your shift."

"Thanks Kurt, have a good rest of your weekend."

"Bye" Kurt says, monumentally less positive than he did before calling.

"Cya" Blaine replies, quiet and rushed again. Making Kurt wonder what exactly is going on with Blaine and what happened to the over positive energetic guy he had been talking to for the past two weeks.

He puts his phone down on his nightstand and lies back on his hands, eyes wide awake staring at the ceiling. He sat there, thinking about nothing in particular and got up out of his bed. Realizing it was only saturday and that he didn't have to worry about sleeping at a decent hour later he wandered over to his desk where his laptop sat and opened it back up.

He looked at the time on the corner of his computer and realized it was already 5:15. "My god how long was i sitting there…" He whispered to himself. He opened up his school's website portal and clicked over to his psychology classes information. Clicking on the homework that wasn't due for another week he brought out his notebook and decided to pass the time being at least a little bit productive. It only took him about ten minutes before he decided to open up another tab on his google chrome browser and open up facebook.

After milling around on facebook for a few minutes he hears the notification of his phone alerting him he got a text message from the other side of his room. He walks over to his nightstand and opens his phone to find a text message from Finn.

"Hey little bro! I'm in town for a day to visit Rachel but she is busy right now, wanna go get some dinner? I'm super hungry" - F

"Yea that sounds great, want me to get dad and Carole? They'll be pissed if they find out you were in town and didn't tell them." - K

"How about we get food first and hang out together and then you bring me home and i say hi before i got to see Rachel." - F
"That'll work. Text me when you're outside and we'll go. Our usual spot?" - K

"Ahh so you assume I'm picking you up? Fine, i'll be there in like 15. Currently texting at a red light because I don't make good decisions, see you in a few" - F

"Oh and yeah usual spot" - F

"Stop texting and driving, i'll see you soon." - K

"Kay bye" - F

Finn arrives much later at nearly six. Kurt grumbles as he climbs into the car after shouting an "i'll be back later!" to his dad and Carole.

"Sorry bro, so much fuckin' traffic"

"It's alright, let's head out. I'm starving." Kurt says, going quiet for most of the ride there. Finn keeps on looking at Kurt through his peripheral vision and is trying to figure out if he is tired, hungry, both, or if there is something else going on that he isn't talking about.

They pull up to their favorite burger joint not too far from their parents house. Ever since they became close in high school "Joes" Became their place. It's a small hole in the wall diner on the corner of a busy downtown area in Ohio. There is a short walkway to order up at a register that sits right in front of all of the ovens and grills to see the chefs work. Following to the end of the counter after ordering they grab themselves water and the soft drinks they order at the register. Kurt getting a diet coke and Finn getting a root beer. The navigate through the restaurant, Kurt still somewhat getting used to his crutches, to the corner table in the back of the restaurant that they dubbed "their table".

"So how's college been? Being starter for a college football team has to be nice."

"Well being with Rachel means i don't get to take FULL advantage of the college experience." Finn says, laughing at Kurt hitting at his arm in disgust.

"Kurt I'm kidding I'm kidding, I love Rachel don't worry."

"Good, i just got her back in my life, i don't need her to come crying to me about how my asshole brother cheated on her… Just like high school." Kurt says with a sly smile and a laugh under his breath, realizing that the joke he made might have been a little messed up.

"Ouch Kurt, that hurt… but good one." Finn says, laughing along. Kurt breathing a small sigh of relief in knowing that he didn't accidentally hit a nerve.

"That's behind me Kurt, i love Rachel and plan on marrying her, but to answer your question before you rudely interrupted me," he says, laughing in the middle of his sentence as Kurt glares. "I like my teammates, and Puck being my roommate and my teammate is nice, even though we both get plenty tired with each other. He gets especially tired when Rach' comes to visit, it's kind of funny. They seem to be just like high school, hating each other but secretly loving each other at the same time." Finn says, laughing again as he finishes talking.

"I'm glad you're having a good time, I can't wait to be able to tell people, 'Oh yea you know Finn Hudson, famous football quarterback? Yeah that's my brother." Kurt says, grinning and full of pride at how happy his brother is.

"Yeah and i'll get to say, 'Oh hey have you heard of Kurt Hummel? Yeah he's that famous psychologist with that theory of that thing that happens when you sleep and stuff."

"Smooth Finn, smooth." Kurt replies, filled with joy at being able to joke around with his brother again. They don't get to see each other much and whenever they do they are surrounded by family, not being able to get a lot of one on one time with each other.

Kurt goes quiet again for a few minutes and as their food comes he goes quieter, the food on his plate being more interesting than broadway. Finn watches as Kurt slowly picks at his food and looks up once or twice to pretend like he was listening to Finn talk about nothing. After they finish their food and push their plates to the side, Finn figures it's as good of a time as any to try and pry some information out of him.

"So, you gonna tell me what's going on? Or am I gonna have to ask dad or Rachel."

"What are you talking about Finn?" Kurt asks, already annoyed at how good his brother is at reading him.

"Well, any chance you've gotten tonight you've gone quiet and stared into space. Either you're thinking of Maslow's theory of self-actualization, or - I saw it on an article and memorized the title to freak you out, - or you're thinking about someone or something in particular that you're mainly keeping to only yourself or Mercedes probably."

"When did you become so smart Finn?" Kurt asks, rubbing his eyes and shaking his head.

"I don't know, but i've got time. We've got tonight and I'm staying until sunday night before I have to drive back to school. So you can start talking now, or you can talk when we go back home to see Mom and Dad."

"Alright alright. There's this guy." Kurt starts, reluctant to speak at all.

"Ah Ha! I knew it, you haven't looked that way since he who shall not be named, even though by now it's probably okay to say his name because it's been like what a year or something?"

"So i've heard, you and 'Cedes have said the same thing, about the first part," he concedes, laughing. "not about the second, though i'm sure she's thought that as well."

"Okay so who is this guy?" Finn asks, chin resting in his head as he listens intently to Kurt.

"I met him on the same night i got in the accident, just a week or two ago"

"Sorry again about not being able to come visit more by the way, i couldn't get out of it." Finn interrupts.

"Like i said the four other times you apologized, it's okay Finn. Really." Kurt says, "As i was saying, I met him that night because he's friends with Mercedes and Sam and they invited me to tag along with them and someone else named Allie, so we went to this mexican restaurant and then went to the beach. I talked to him a lot and he just seemed like a genuinely nice person, you know? There's not a lot of people around like that. Plus he's gay so that makes my job a little easier."

"Do you know what he does? Like school and work wise?"

"Yea he works at the 24 hour fitness like 20 minutes from our house. I'm pretty sure he lives near there too, i think that's what he said at least. As for school he goes to Lima Community College with me and i think he said he wanted to major in english, i don't fully remember though."

"Cool cool, so now tell me why you seem so distraught that you obviously like him. Like… Like like him."

"Because after 'he who shall not be named i don't feel like anyone is going to like me again, honestly." Kurt says, voice low and head hanging down.

"Hey, look at me." Kurt looks up when he says that and stares into his eyes. "You're Kurt Hummel, nobody pushes you down. Plus, you're like one of the coolest people i've ever met, if he doesn't see how great you are then forget about him."

Kurt's face turns up into a genuine smile since he initially saw Finn when getting into his car, and Finn is glad he could put that smile there.

"Thank you Finn, that means a lot. You're a good brother, you know that?"

"You've told me once or twice, doesn't hurt to hear it again though." Finn says, laughing at his own joke.

"Statement retracted" Kurt says, rolling his eyes and giving Finn his best bitch glare while simultaneously trying not to smile.

"Ouch Kurt, that hurts. I thought what we had was special."

"Well if you hadn't cheated on me with that bitch Jessica then it would still be special." Kurt says, louder than necessary while getting up and laughing in the middle of his sentence, causing Finn to lose his grip and start laughing uncontrollably as they leave the restaurant. They turn a few heads as they walk out of the restaurant, neither of them care though as they just enjoy being with each other again and walk back to Finn's car.

They climb into Finn's truck and head back to their parents home. It only takes a few minutes for Kurt to start talking again.

"He blew me off tonight, I was going to see if he wanted to get dinner or hang out, just as friends at least and he was all kryptic on the phone and then said no and hung up."

Without needing to ask who Kurt was talking about, Finn just nodded his understanding and let Kurt talk. Even though there wasn't much more he wanted to say.

"It's just that I haven't actually had a crush on someone since Daniel, and we all know how that turned out. I just don't want to get happy about this for it to all blow up in my face."

"I can't believe you said his name!" Finn said, disbelief written everywhere on his face, chuckling. "I'm proud of you."

"That's what you took away from that Finn?" Kurt said, trying to hide the fact that he was proud of himself for not cringing after saying Daniels name.

Turning into the driveway of their home, Finn turned to Kurt and said, "What I took away from that Kurt, was that it took you getting pushed into socializing and winding up getting hit by a car for you to find someone you actually liked. Dad's been telling us for years to just 'follow our emotions' or something like that and that we will be okay if we do. So go for it, the worst that can happen is that he says no and you guys move on and stay friends."

"There you go again…" Kurt mumbles, shaking his head.

"What'd I do?" Finn stares, dubious to whether or not he said something wrong.

"You were smart again, people need to stop doubting you."

Finn laughs and ruffles Kurt's hair which results in the bitchiest Kurt glare of the night, something he is happy to see come back to life.

They get out of the car simultaneously and let themselves into the house. Kurt calls for Burt and Carole,

"Hey guys i'm back! I have a surprise too!" he says, walking into the front door and putting his jacket on the corner, Finn doing the same.

Burt walks through the kitchen and sees Finn standing there, arms open for a hug and Burt yells for Carole as he walks over and gives Finn a hug. Carole joins too and soon they are all in a four person group hug, happy with the fact that Finn is back, even if it's for such a short period of time.

Everyone moves into the kitchen which prompts Carole to make tea for herself and Kurt and Coffee for Finn and Burt. Kurt watching how much sugar his dad puts in his coffee, and stopping him when he sees him put in too much. Burt shrugs him off but puts the sugar away anyway and sips at his coffee. Finn fills them in on what he has been up to at college, mostly everything that he had told Kurt already. He also told them that he was going to be seeing Rachel tonight so he was not going to be home until sunday morning.

They said their goodbyes to Finn with promises to have a family breakfast the next day with Rachel and her dads. Finn assures they will all be there and he backs out of the driveway.

Kurt looks at his phone and sees that it's already 10:00, wanting to get actual sleep, he decides to get showered and go to sleep. He puts on his most comfortable sweatpants and climbs into his bed, falling asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow.

*Blaine's POV*

Waking up yet again in the breakroom is proving painful for his neck. He wakes up to his alarm telling him he has an hour before work. He turns his phone off and looks around the employee lounge, still baffled that he has been sleeping here the past few nights, after he got into the fight with his parents, he couldn't think of anywhere else to go. He had a shift the next day so he grabbed the duffle bag off the top of his closet shelf and put as many clothes as he could fit in there along with basic toiletries and a backpack full of school supplies. The night he fought with his parents he left the house as soon as he could and used his key to get into the back of the gym to avoid the few people working at this time. He got into the back room and hopped onto the couch, pulling the blanket out of his backpack and turning on his music he began a night of restless sleep.

All night he tossed and turned thinking about his parents basically yelling at him for being gay, he knew they never necessarily approved of his "decision" as they liked to put it, but he could never have imagined them calling him a disgrace when he brought up asking a guy out casually over dinner. Apparently they were never okay with it, but just pretended to be for the sake of their family. Cooper was already in LA which meant that was one less person they needed to appease, probably knowing that Cooper would support Blaine without question.

Now it's three days later without hearing a word from Kurt, sleeping in a gym, and getting little to no contact with Sam, Mercedes, or Wes. Wes has been his all time best friend since his freshman year of school at dalton academy after getting beaten up and sent to the hospital by homophobic assholes when he tried to go to a dance with another guy. He transferred to dalton after the incident and befriended Wes quickly. Wes never pressured him to talk about anything, but sooner or later Wes was the only person Blaine found he could talk to about personal stuff. He never felt any connection with his parents since he had come out to them and they had immediately become distant. He found himself lost without being able to talk to Wes, but he was heavily busy at college and Blaine didn't want to bother him.

He talked to his manager the other day about his situation and asked if it would be okay if he crashed there for the next couple of days, he told her what had happened and she said it was more than okay, and saying that she hoped he got everything sorted out soon, for his own sake. Walking out of the break room sleepily after taking a nap on his break, he felt his phone buzzing in his pocket. He wasn't sure if he imagined his heart skipping a beat at seeing Kurt's name come up on the front of his phone screen but he accepted the call hesitantly.

"I was wondering if you wanted to get some dinner or something" was all Blaine heard in the middle of Kurt's rambling and he wanted so badly to accept, but what was this? Was this a date date? Was it just something between friends? If he was just going out to dinner with Kurt he couldn't be sure that he wouldn't break down crying in front of someone who doesn't know a lot about him. He doesn't want to make Kurt not like him before he even gets the chance to try and get to know him.

He comes up with an excuse as quickly as he can and hangs up the phone, feeling like there was something pushing down on his chest, a feeling of complete self loathing at the fact that he couldn't just accept the offer for what it was and hope Kurt wanted it to be the same thing as him. He walked right back into the break room and laid down on the couch for a few more minutes, hitting his head into the cushions repeatedly for being so stupid.

His whole shift goes by rather smoothly. He helps people when they need it and when he isn't busy with anything else he counts through inventory and does general cleaning and tidying around the gym. His shift ends at 8:00 that saturday night and he decides to work out, eat, and go to bed. Seeing as he had Sunday off he decided to take a little longer with his workout and his shower time, trying to relax after the last couple of days he's had.

Deciding he will call Sam to talk to him tomorrow about everything, hoping he can try and sleep on his couch until he gets his living situation figured out, he falls asleep on the uncomfortable couch to sleep on and off through the night. With images of Kurt flying through most of the dreams he's able to have, as well as his parents through most of the nightmares.

Okay so i know i said i would upload wednesdays and saturdays but uh… that didn't work out, so better one day late than never right?

Just an FYI to anyone who has any ideas as to how they might see this story going, feel free to put any ideas in the reviews, i don't have a specific plot for this story of how i want it to go, i'm just writing it as i see it… While changing my mind a lot in the process.

I really like where this is going so far, giving Blaines perspective and stuff, so the next chapter might be more Blaine focused… We'll see :D

New chapter out by Sunday at the latest (Hopefully!)
