IN THE AFRICAN MOUNTAINS…
A three year old, female Mountain Lion was spotted lurking at the base of a mountain by some Rangers. There were two males with her. One of the Rangers, Rosie Trevanion, recognised the three Mountain Lions immediately, and took a photo. That photo, now remains framed, on the bed-side-table in the bedroom of Wild Animal Conservationist, Harriett Walker, at Leopard's Den.
IN THE BUSH…
Vet, Danny Trevanion, and his daughter's friend, Wild Animal Conservationist, Harriett Walker, sat on the truck, watching the young African Elephant, Violet, bonding with her new, adopted herd. The two of them stayed, late into the night, watching the herd and it's new arrival. Around 10o'clock, Danny turned to Harriett Walker…
"Harriett."
"Yes?"
"I'm sorry, about what happened." It was the anniversary of the Mountain Lion's death. "You'd done a really good job, and if I hadn't given her the wrong drug, she'd still be around today."
"I know. You've said it every year."
"So… I was wandering, if you would like to work with me, at Leopard's Den?"
"You're joking?"
"I'm not." Danny laughed.
"I'd love to."
AT LEOPARD'S DEN…
Everyone was so happy that the animals are doing well, and were delighted to find out that Danny had offered Harriett a job.
Now, those same people are living a happier life at Leopard's Den, caring for, and restoring injured and orphaned animals to health. Harriett Walker still goes out on the occasional Conservation Mission in the African Bush, or the Mountains, but the majority of her time is spent working along side Danny Trevanion.
The End
