"Hey. Girl. Hey. Hey. Hello?"
A voice echoed in my mind. Refusing to respond, I turn my head.
"That's rude. I thought you said she was better off now." Echii complained to nagi.
"I said that didn't I? So it must be true." He smirked and stepped on echii's foot.
"Oww! Hey! What was that for?" He grumbled a bit before kneeling down next to me. "What's the matter, Nanami?" He asked in a soft voice, and tears welled up in my eyes once again.
"They won't see me again. Ever." I sobbed out. He took a look at the the letter I clutched in my hand and gently took it away. Reading it, his eyes narrowed sharply.
"Well this is a pleasant surprise." My head shot up, shocked at his harsh words.
"What do you-"
"I said before. You're mine. Now I have less competition to worry about." He grabbed my hand and dragged me up and down the hall until we arrived in front of a door.
"What are you-"
"Doing?"
"Yeah?"
He smirked and swung the door open, pulling me inside with him. He locked the door and pulled me on top of him on the bed.
"W-w-what!" I stammered, blushing furiously.
His expression changed to a soft smile. He flipped he onto my back and hugged me tightly.
"Please forget. I beg of you." He whispered softly in my ear. His voice rasped causing my heart to thump wildly. Soon, his breathing eased and he slept holding me tightly.
This small action made me smile faintly, far from thinking of the letter.
"Nanami."
I heard my name and swallowed nervously.
But the next words left me dazed with a mixture of happiness and regret.
"I love you."
