A2: Hey guys, hope you like the chapter. Also before I forget…again, everyone please welcome the Goddess of Love and Beauty, the original Barbie Doll herself, Aphrodite.
Aphrodite: *squeals* Hi everyone! Oh… Astia2 how are you?
A2: Good… Aphrodite could you please-
Aphrodite: Interfere with your love life! Gladly.
A2: *face palms* No! Give-
Aphrodite: You a makeover!
A2: No… I'm pretty sure that I don't need one. As I was saying, please say the-
Aphrodite:The Aphrodesian Pledge. Okay, sure.
I pledge to the Love and Beauty Goddess, Aphrodite
To always show off my individual style
To always wear a big smile.
To love all creatures big and small with an open heart
To find love and beauty in all things.
A2: That was lovely, Aphrodite. I was a little surprised that the pledge didn't include makeup and breaking hearts, though.
Aphrodite: What can I say! I'm a changed goddess.
A2: Alright… So could you possibly now do the disclaimer.
Aphrodite: Oh alright… Astia2 does not own any of the characters from Percy Jackson and the Olympians series or the Heroes of Olympus series.
A2: Thank you, Aphrodite.
Aphrodite: No need to thank me! Now I need to go oversee some love lives, darling. Ciao* poofs away *
A2: Alright… enjoy guys.
Piper's POV
Annabeth ran over to me, after her little chat with Percy. She had a stormy expression on her face; her nose was scrunched up like it always was when she was upset.
"So I take it didn't go so well…" I said, slinging an arm over her shoulder. I hope Percy didn't say no…
She muttered something under her breath and eerily said, "Possibly."
"What do you mean?" I demanded.
"I mean, Percy… Percy said…." She whispered, her bottom lip quivering, "No."
I felt so angry at Percy. How could he chicken out like that? How could he hurt Annabeth like that.
"Why that little b-barnacle brain! Next time I see him I'll make sure he's in the hospital for at least a week! I swear Annabeth anyone who-"
Suddenly, Annabeth burst into laughter, "Oh my gods, you should have seen your face! That was hilarious!"
My face turned bright red as I glared at her. "Shut up! It was not funny at all"
"Whatever. Your turn, Beauty Queen," she chuckled, as she gave me a 'light' push in the direction of Jason Grace.
My mind was going giddy with excitement and fear. What if he said no? What if… he said yes? What if… he turns out to be like him? I took a deep breath, gather all my courage and approached wit with great gusto. However, being the uncoordinated and klutzy person I was, I tripped over my own feet and landed on top of none other than Mr. Grace. 'Smooth move, McLean. Falling on top of your crush is a great way to ask your crush out,' I cursed, mentally slapping myself.
"Um… Are you done using me as a cushion?" Jason asked awkwardly.
I feel my cheeks burning in pure embarrassment. " Yeah…uh… really sorry about that… um yeah," I stuttered. I stood up and extended a hand to Jason. He took my hand and I helped him up.
"So… nice weather we're having today…" I said nervously. ' Seriously, Piper. The weather. Great conversation starter.' I thought.
Jason ran a hand through his blonde hair and said, "Yeah, great weather… so if that's all then I'll just be-"
"Jason, wait," I interrupted, "I just wanted to ask about the dance this Friday. I wanted to ask if you would… like to… possibly consider …"
"PIPER!" a shrill voice yelled, interrupting me, "I need to talk to you! Like now!" I turned around and saw the control freak editor-in-chief of the school magazine storming towards.
"I'll be right back, Jason," I reassured, as I ran to meet with Ari.
"Ari, could you please hurry it up. I was kind of in the middle of something."
"Well if you hadn't neglected your duties. You wouldn't have to be here, right now. Would you?" she said, glaring at me. Gods, sometimes that girl annoys the Hades out of me.
"I'm sorry but I-"
"Excuses, excuses. Listen well, you WILL advise at least five people tonight or so help me Piper I will be your worst nightmare," she threatened.
"All right, whatever. I'll do it tonight," I sighed rolling my eyes.
"You better, Piper McLean. I'm warning you!" she yelled, as I ran back to Jason.
"Hey, sorry about," I apologised, oblivious to the fact that Jason and Reyna were having a conversation.
"Yeah, you should be sorry for interrupting our conversation, dork, " Reyna jeered, glaring at me. "Anyways, see at the dance, Jason. We're going to be the cutest couple on the dance floor," she said sweetly, strutting away like she was on a runway. Well, I was too late. No matter how much my mother meddled, how hard I try, nothing ever works out for me. I guess I should start getting used to my life as a permanent loser.
"Um… McLean, didn't't you have something you wanted to ask me?" Jason asked, interrupting my depressive thoughts.
"Um…iT doesn't matter anymore. It was a stupid question anyway. Just forget about it," I rambled.
"Come on, McLean. I'll still answer it, even if it is the worst question in the history of questions."
"No… just…never mind," I sighed.
He had a serious expression on his face, and said gravely " Well, I'm afraid you leave me no choice. I didn't't want to do this but you have forced me to."
He picked me up and slung me over his shoulder.
"Put me down or I swear, Grace you'll regret this," I warned.
"Not until you tell me," he taunted.
"Jason, please. I'm going to throw up all over you if you don't put me down this instant."
"Alright, I'll put you down… after you tell me."
"Fine," I groaned, "I wanted… to ask… You to… put me down… now."
"Your real question, McLean. Or I will carry you to English."
"Fine… I wanted to ask… if you wanted to… race me to English," I challenged.
He dropped me on my butt and smirked, "Bring it, McLean."
"Oh it's on, Grace," I said.
A2: Hope you enjoyed that. Tune in next chapter for the Winter Dance. Until next time, my brilliant readers.
