Raph was furious as he dropped down onto the cement in the alleyway. Some Purple Dragons were ganging up on a businessman. It
was about 9:00PM, which in Raph's book, meant clobbering time. Actually any time was clobbering time when it came to Purple
Dragons.
"Well, well…" Raph spoke from the shadows. The PD's glanced around at his voice. "Lookee what we got here." Raph crept closer to
the biggest thug. "Boo." He said in the thug's ear. Raph dodged the guy's swipe and emerged from the shadows. Cracking his
knuckles, he scowled. "Looks like the businessman needs help with some business. I hate seeing five against one. Lemme even
the odds a bit." He round house kicked the biggest thug and he went down, unconscious before he even hit the ground. The other
PD's surrounded him and snickered.
Raph narrowed his eyes, "Did I miss the joke? What's your deal?"
They smirked at each other and didn't answer.
Raph glared, "Well?"
"Allow me to introduce myself," The businessman spoke up. Raph's eyes widened. "I am Howard Wells, a –somewhat- associate of
the Agent Bishop himself."
Raph cursed under his breath and broke into a run. Something hard hit his calves and he went down. The hard object came to meet
the back of his head and his vision flashed white. "UUrghhh…" He groaned, trying to get on his hands and knees. A shoe slammed
onto his shell and pinned him down.
"I'm sorry?" Howard asked. "What was it you called me? A businessman? Well I got a little –shall we say- family business with your
'sister'."
"I'll kill you!" Raph snarled as he reached for his sais.
"Nah ah ah!" Howard said disapprovingly, he yanked Raph's arm and wrenched it back. Raph screamed with rage.
"You're gonna pay for that!" Spittle flew from the turtle's mouth.
Howard laughed, "On the contrary, Mr. Raphael, it is dear little Emily who has the biggest price to pay. You see, she has a small
possession of ours… And the Purple Dragons here are helping us track you frogs down." He flicked a speck of dust from his suit
before continuing, "I'm here on company business, and we would like to collect our investment stored in her bloodstream. But don't
worry, besides the torture, I'm sure it'll be a wonderful treat. On the house, I might add."
"Yo pally, you plannin' on boring me ta death?" Raph snapped, "You talk too much!"
Howard smirked, "Yes," He admitted. "I do." His shoe slammed into Raph's face and the world went black.
…
Emily placed the pizza in the oven and rested her hands on the kitchen counter. She felt restless, as if there was something she
needed to do. She shook her head and padded out of the kitchen. Donnie was reading a book on the couch, while Sam and Pete were
watching TV.
"Oh hey Emily." Don greeted. Sam waved at her and Pete gave her a nod.
"Hi guys." Emily hesitated, "Would you mind watching the pizza? I gotta go get some air."
Don looked at her. "Yeah, sure… Splinter's going to get worried about you, and he's already worried about Mikey, Leo, and Raph. So
don't be long okay?"
Emily nodded, "I won't be long, I promise. I'll be extra careful." She turned and went to one of the exit tunnels. Pulling down a false
pipe, the mechanism clicked and the doorway was revealed. She took one last look at the living room before the brick walls closed
behind her.
...
The manhole she had used to exit the sewer opened up in an alleyway. Checking to make sure no one was watching, Emily slid the
manhole closed and sprinted for cover. Satisfied that no one had seen her, she climbed a scaffolding to reach the balcony stairs. She
soon reached the top of the stairs and took a breather.
The sky was pretty clear, for New York. She couldn't see any stars though. The city was always too bright to see any stars, but the
moon was always present. She pushed her thoughts aside and went back to the task at hand. She wanted to find Raph. She felt
guilty that she had sided with Mikey. After all, Raph always meant well. He just... Doesn't know how to express his emotions.
She jumped to the next building and rolled, then she put on some more speed. The more and more practice she got, the faster she could scale the buildings. She
never needed to think when she trained, all the skill was just somehow there. Her brothers had told her that was how it was when they began their ninja training too.
Raph had been the one to train her combat, and she missed him. Bit by bit, her memories were flooding back into her head. She vaguely remembered meeting her
brothers for the first time. She knew it was Raphael who had saved her from falling off a building. Emily couldn't remember if she had thanked him though. It
wouldn't hurt to say it again.
She slowed to a walk at the edge of an apartment building. Looking down, she saw the Purple Dragon's warehouse. Emily knew Raph enough to know that if he was mad, and he was out in the city, then he'd be putting a beat on some gang members. It was pretty quiet out here, there only was a pair of PD's patrolling the street
below. Emily went over the edge and climbed down. She silently landed and began creeping closer to the thugs. Once she was a couple metres away, she
straightened up and said, "Hey," The thugs whirled on her, "I'm looking for a turtle like me, only he wears a red mask." She gestured to her own
yellow mask. "Seen him?"
"Get away, freak!" One thug gripped his bat harder.
"Y-yeah! We ain't scared a you guys no more!" The other Dragon stammered. He pulled out a pocket knife.
"Fine," Emly sighed, "The hard way it is." She lunged at them, but they flinched immediately.
"Okay! Okay!" They squealed almost in unison.
The guy with the pocket knife had dropped his weapon. "Some of the other guys helped this man bring him to a science-y lab! It's over on Wall Street, but I swear
that's all we know!" He was trembling heavily.
"Please don't hurt us!" The bat guy added. "We were recruited last week! We weren't the ones who jumped your friend!"
"Thanks," Emily turned away. "You should quit, by the way. Unless you wanna go against us next time."
"O-Of course! We won't cause no trouble no more!"
