Chapter 10- Trust

Woods-

Cal grumbled, biting his lip, indulging himself with vengeance and clarity. The poor Prince was unable to put a stop to his pleasure of stopping Kane. But what he's feeling are a whirlwind of mixed emotions. Why should he kill a guy that didn't do anything to him? He didn't even owe him, or hurt him in the past. But what is this feeling?

Cal gave an uppercut which gave a great blow to the hooded man, banging his head on a nearby tree. Kane then gave a bloody smile up his face.

"Not to worry Seff or is it Cal?" The man then raised his hands up the sky, as the fiery thing called Asper formed into a sword. A sword of flames. "This won't take long." He swung the sword up Cal's face. The werewolf dodged the sword, leaving a grin.

The fiery people surrounded the prince with axes and torches with faces morphed in ways that are unexplainable.

"It's the end Seff." Kane shouted, giving out an maniacal laugh of evil soon after.

Cal crinkled his nose for thought of Jake sacrificing himself for him, Candy kingdom in disaster, Princess Bubblegum riding in a unstoppable roller coaster of thoughts, Finn causing his anger to emerge, and most of all Marceline, burning to death. These feelings surrounding him, blaming him, haunting him. Blood raised up his veins causing him to tremble. Closing his eyes to the pain, he felt his hands and feet stroked with blood. This never before felt feeling felt like a close brush with death. Suddenly, he remembered his purpose as his eyes opened in a shade of crimson red.

"Who says it's the end?" He quickly transformed into his vile form, yet it has somehow changed into a slightly different type of Lycan. Standing tall, the hulking figure felt his gray fur stand up like a porcupine's. But somehow, his beastly form has developed intricate crimson markings around his body. His claws deepened into a shade of ruby red, soaked with the blood of his many victims. His eyes shone red as the dawn sea. The pendant he wore sticked to his skin like a vital organ. He growled, with his head up high, giving deep, bored sigh. "It has just begun!" Cal roared, charging at him with his newly acquired strength.

"Ficers, (Referring to the fire people he created.) Attack!" Kane commanded.

With ease, the Lycan Prince crushed the charging army of fire with his bloody fists, extinguishing them with little effort. He slammed their weakened bodies against the stumps of aged trees, causing the forest to light up like an act of arson, killing the scent of fresh leaves in the area.

"I love what you've done to the place, Seff. I must admit, YOU'RE AMAZING!" Kane laughed like a madman. The Lycan approached him, smashing a pair of Ficers in his fists to set them ablaze. He then swung his fiery fists towards Kane, which caused him to land on his back with a devastating blow.

"Urmm..." He spat on the ground while pressing his wounds. "Sorry for underestimating you… Prince Seff…"

Woods- Stream

Marceline's P.O.V

"Marceline…" I heard a voice, must be Finn… my vision suddenly cleared after a few minutes. I felt my body turning stiff.

"Finn…" I called out.

"Marceline! Finally! You okay?"

"My arms…" They still felt numb but not burning anymore, it's like it subsided or something. I then tried to stand on my feet.

"Marceline, just stay, your arms aren't in good condition… They're gray as ever." I reacted, twitching my eyebrows. I playfully punched Finn with my left fist.

"Uff… Am I always this gray? Stupid… That's my skin color, racist… haha."

"Haha!" we both shared a laugh.

I blankly stared at the refection of Finn on the water, thinking of nothing but air. Might as well call me an air head. Suddenly, I saw a pink mug, full of water, water…

"Finn, you okay… I mean with the water?" I asked in a concern tone. Finn gave a playful laugh.

"No biggy, Marceline. I'm willing to face my fears, for a friend." He gave a smile. I smiled back.

Then, out of the blue, I've suddenly remembered that incident with Cal… Cal… Glob! "Finn, Where's Cal?"

"Cal? Oh crap! I forgot!"

"Huh?"

"Cuz I got scared, fiery stuff keeps flying out, you, you were hurt, I'm scared that I might lose you, then you were shaking, I don't know what to do…"

"Finn..." I kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you." I added. Making him blush, this made me blush too. Glob, this is awkward.

"So? Go and help Cal out." I added to stay away from awkward feelings Finn might put me in, like really I remembered the time that I told him I could go out with him to watch some movie, then he thought I had weird feelings for him, which I didn't…

"Will you be okay?" he asked me.

"Yeah, don't worry, I'm a Vampire slash Demon. "

"b-but…"

"RAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" I quickly turned into a demon witch to scare him.

"AAAAYIIEE!" Finn screamed like a sissy while running to the woods.

I gave a chuckle as I slowly turned back to normal.

"Marceline… (thanks for scaring me.)" Finn added while running to Cal. "(What's with the woods anyway? The trees…they're all burning up…)"

"Cal! Cal! Whoaahh…." The hero paused after seeing Cal in his Berserk Werewolf form.

"Finn, stay back!" Berserk Cal said in a deep "wolfy" tone of voice.

"If it isn't little boy." Kane said while leaning on a tree, coughing up some blood. Cal quickly approached Kane. Then the latter gave a giggle. "Hehe… any closer now…" he whispered softly, staring at the steps Cal is taking towards him. "YES!" Kane shouted as he snapped his fingers, which has caused Asper to transform into a fiery Golem that towers over Cal's primal form.

"Ha?" Finn blurted.

"Crap…" Cal added, stepping back.

"Hahahaha! Do you think we will give up that easily? FOOL!" Kane then whispered. "Aim on his weakness…" he commanded the golem. The fire Golem then pushed Cal away, aiming for Finn, it then slammed the hero to a tree… This injured him instantly.

"FINN!" Cal then crinkled his Lycan nose, and stampeded towards the Golem, wrestling it.

Woods- Stream

Marceline P.O.V

"Cal… Finn…"I slowly stood up even though it hurts, I can't rest thinking about they're safety. I stared at the woods burned down by fire or is it?

"Fire's weakness is water… duh…" I grabbed Finn's pink mug and filled it with some water, I then walked towards the battle field, even though the pain is undeniably kill'n me. Due to my groggy style of walking, that factor has caused me to spill some water from the mug… crud… then I saw an injured Finn leaning against a tree, lying unconscious, with various bruises, and what seemed to be burns around his body. Then I spotted Cal wrestling this huge Golem dude.

"I told you to leave them alone!" Cal shouted.

"Spperrrr!"

"Asper! Hit him! Hit him hard!" Kane said while lying down on the cold ground.

"RAAAHH!" Cal then tackled the golem to the ground and punched his rocky hot face. Nice description,Marcy. "It BURNS!" Cal shouted.

"Hahaha… no matter what you do, Asper won't-"

"SPLASHH…" I threw the mug full of water to the golem, which drenched Cal too. It was a bulls eye, I gave a smile to Cal and fell down. Don't worry; I'm still conscious but not that lively that's all. All what I'm doing was waiting for a reaction, maybe to kill it, but…

"Stupid girl, Asper is not a fire ball, He is a wisp!" he shouted, mocking me. I could clearly see his veins in his neck, to desperate to win, that is. A Wisp? The water evaporated into hot air, like… like nothing even happened, it didn't stop anything. But it caught me doing my stupid act. The golem quickly ignored Cal and pursued me… walking towards me... Cal then chased the Golem this time, tackling it face flat. He punched and punched, until the Golem's skin cracked a little. Cal's fists are in pain… I'm sure of it… sigh… I don't know what to do anymore. He continued to punch and punch, tearing the rocky shell off, leaving a ball of red energy. I guess… that scared Kane. Perhaps he's too scared that he might kill his pet or something.

"Seff, do what you must, what you feel is what your heart wants!" he shouted, looking at Berserk Lycan, holding the helpless wisp in his hands. Even though it burns, he didn't care… why? Why would you risk everything for everyone? Is this the soul, the spirit, the will of a true blooded hero? I don't even know if I am… a hero…

Cal faced the desperate Kane… his eyes, which are covered with hatred and pain quickly stopped and faded off. What does he look at Kane? Who is Kane? Who in the hell is Dolce?

"Seff… just let it go… let it freak'n go Glob dammit! Kill me! Go! Do it!" Kane shouted, wanting Cal to end it all... Cal gave a sigh… he then threw the wisp ball at Kane… did he spare his life? Why?

"Take it and leave…"

"What are you implying Seff…?" Kane asked.

"Just go Kane! Go away. "Cal shouted. I've never seen Cal so serious my whole life… "Go AWAY!" Cal shouted at the hooded man. Kane then stood up straight. It's like when he held Asper in his arms, it's like all the pain he has just faded away, slipped right off, healed in an instant. Not like my arm. Kane gave a last smile.

"I Will find that leaf Seff… remember that… I will destroy it!" he shouted while disappearing to the bushes. I was half conscious by the time, but Finn looked beat. Cal then approached me and Finn, and gave us a piggy bag ride on his huge, wide furry back…

"Thank you guys…" he blurted out, suddenly everything went black.

Candy Kingdom-

"Urff…"

"Marceline!" Bonnie surprisingly called out to me, with her high pitched voice so loud that I woke up in an instant like, boom! I then saw her there, sitting on my bed Indian style, while holding this boring novel she reads repeatedly. Sigh… with nerd glasses… I reached for my pocket, just to clarify if that encounter with that Loup Garou girl was real, sigh… seems like I still got it. What is this? I continued to feels it with my hands; it feels light and bottle like, more like a potion? Or it's probably something else… hehe, never mind that. Let's just think about something else. Oh, yeah…the glasses.

"What's with the nerd glasses?" I poked it rather gently.

"Ouch... Oh, seems like your fine now huh? That's great!" I glanced at my right arm which was patched up with some bandages and stuff.

"My arm…"

"Oh yeah…" Bonnie trailed off, with a glint of reluctance in her face. "About your arm, it seems like it got burnt real good."

"That means?"

"That means you need to get used to your left arm."

"What!?" she then gave out a smile, I then responded with a scoff.

"How can you smile in this condition…? So you're telling me, I can never use my right hand?"

"Hahahah, that's not what I meant silly" she then flicked my forehead, which really pissed me off. "You can use it when it's all healed back… and I thought you'd lose your right hand."

"Pfffftttt…" I looked away.

"Hey gals!" Finn greeted as the two boys went in the room.

"Hey." Bonnie greeted.

"So, how's Marceline?" Finn asked.

"She's Fine like a bird." (Like a what?) "Wait Finn, you're not in a rather stable condition yet, watcha doing roaming around the place?"

"Awe, it's just a sprain, means nothing to a man like meh." I glanced at Finn, seems like he sprained his knee… poor Finn… he suddenly stared at me, urgh, eye contact, I quickly looked away. I don't want it to be anywhere awkward; I just kissed the boy on the cheek.

"Hmm, Marceline you okay?" Bonnie asked.

"Yeah, duh. Oh, not to mention, where is the ol' fat princess?" I asked.

"She's catching some air, I guess." Bonnie replied.

"Hey, Marcy!" Jake greeted.

"Jake, you okay? You look pretty injured." I then floated towards him and poked his belly full of bandages. "Does it even bother you?" I asked. I mean the guy's having some bandage all over his scalp and on his feet all around his belly, plus he's on a wheel chair. Now that's too much.

"I'm fine Marcy, I'm like a rocking MUMMY!" With that coming from him, it sounded pretty fun.

"Radical." I added. I continued to float around the room.

"Marceline Abadeer! Go back to bed!" Bonnie scolded me, somehow it sounded like mom, or I think it would.

"Fine, fine, shish…" I reluctantly obeyed.

Bonnie suddenly gave a giggle, which made all of us staring. Okay? What's with the giggling? I mean, REALLY?

"Wow, I'm so jelly." Bonnie suddenly said.

"What, why?" I asked rather puzzled. I mean who wouldn't? I'm sorta curious.

"Well you see, all I do is give out orders, and science. Don't get me wrong I love science. But looking at you guys you all seem, happy I mean helping each other's butts, being hurt TOGETHER. Ah, I mean you know." Okay… that puzzled us real good. If she wants to play, she could.

"Oh, so you want to get injured huh?" I glared at her.

"Huh? PB I can't believe it." Jake said.

"This might be some kind of spell." Finn said while doing the thinking position, side by side with Jake.

"Hahahah…" we all shared a laugh.

"Hey, why are you guys laughing without me?" Cal jumped out of the window, as usual. He then stretched, followed with the sound of snapping limbs.

"Hey, Cal!"Finn greeted, approaching him.

"Hey dude."

"Seems like you guys are alright." He added.

"Yeah!" I then glanced at Bonnie, but her face seemed worried. She suddenly asked.

"Is-is Cal your real name?" suddenly we went silent for a while there.

"Duhh, of course it is, Cal wouldn't lie, right?" Jake asked doing a puppy dog face.

"Wait, princess is right… The dude with the hoodie called you Seff… am I correct?" Finn supported the theory. Is Cal a… imposter?

"Okay… I heard you mention the name "Dolce". Who is that anyway?" I added.

"Dolce?" Bonnie questioned. I looked at her with a nod. We all then stared at him, with a mix of unease and confusion written in our faces.

"Hey, hey slow down guys, it seems I got a lot of questions to answer." Cal said.

"Yeah very…" Bonnie added, as her glasses shined through the night's light.

"Wow-wow-wow guys, let the have some privacy." Jake added. "You know, we all homies here, am I right doug!" Jake continued, which sounded like some gangster rap.

"Doug, really?" I added.

"Jake's right, I certainly can't tell you people now" he quickly faced at the window." it would abrupt my every nature…" he then went out of the window, again. What's with windows and Lycans, I mean not to get anywhere racist.

"HEY, Wait Cal!" Bonnie shouted out the window. She gave a sigh, "Glob, how can we trust him…?" Bonnie added. This pissed me off a little. I mean after all he gone through this identity thing to protect us, I wish what I'm thinking is right.

"We already did." I answered with a pissed tone.

"Huh?" Bonnie reacted.

"Well duh? He helped us along the way. Maybe it's just not the time for questionings, I sure he will open up soon."

"What?" Bonnie gripped her fists.

"Let me ask you something, Bonnibel. Do you know me? Do you know my mother? Do you know the pain I've been through as a kid? or why am I a Vampire Queen? Huh? DO you trust me? You barley even know me!"

"What?!" her faced crinkled, she seemed annoyed, cuz I am to her as well. Glob. "Marceline!" she shouted.

"Huh? Huh? Answer me? Do you?"

"No I didn't! That's why I can't fully trust you!"She then went out of the room slamming the door. I could feel my blood heat up to the tension. Who does she think she is? Does she look me as a friend? I do, I don't even know her at all… (She doesn't trust me… That explains everything.)

"Hey Marceline…" Jake said. I then flew away out of the window.

"Arghhhhh!" I could just scream my lungs out, for crying out loud! "Arghhhhh!" I continued to scream.

"I've never seen them so…so complicated this time, how could we ever fix this?" Finn added in a worried tone.

"They'll make up somehow; you know they're best friends." Jake said.

Candy Kingdom- Outside

I floated around the candy kingdom, super pissed. " Argh... Stupid gum wad…" I paused for a second, feeling my forehead wet with sweat. "AAAAHHHH!" I screamed, just to shout my feelings out, it's better to have no emotions at all, if you just scream to it. This is such a pain in the head, I mean my arm feels numb and all. What a day… my head is so hot tight know, I could kill someone in sight!

Candy Kingdom- The Princesses room

"Tch!" the princess kicked her study table. "What's her problem? Of course I trust her, more than anyone! She's just-! Ugh! She made me say what I didn't want to say. (have you heard of anyone like that? only me that is.)" The princess then jumped in her bed and sat silently… then grabbed a pillow. "Oh glob…"

Candy Kingdom- Lab

"Jake, I'm gonna go to Marcy, you go to the princess."

"Yeah, gotcha." Jake said.

"Gotcha?" Finn asked.

"Yeah?" Jake added.

"LSP?"

"What bro?!" Jake scratched his shoulder.

"Oh, nothing. It's just that "gotcha" is something LSP uses… it creeps me out."

"Oh… okay bud." The two heroes soon departed to their missions.

Candy Kingdom- Outside

Marceline's P.O.V

"Hey Marceline!"

"Huh? Finn? Ugh… I've got no time for that." I saw Finn down the ground calling me, since I'm floating and all.

"Please come down, I've got some strawberries." He then began to shake the hand full of strawberries in his hand.

"Finn, I told myself that I would kill anything by sight." I added just to scare him.

"Tell yourself not to kill anything by sight, they'll listen." Finn added, which made me scoff. But the strawberries looks decadent, I could almost taste it… I could not contain myself. I then saw Finn with those puppy eyes. "Fine!" I shouted, I went down slowly. "Hey Finn…" I greeted in a "I don't give a crap" voice.
"Here, have some." He then gave a warm smile. I then looked away from his gaze.

"Hey Marceline, why do the two of you fight anyways?"

"It's nothing…" I added.

"Well, the princess is stubborn at times just like you. Buy you guys are great friends just like me and my buddy Jake.

"Hmph.. I knew that."

"You guys need to make up, there is not much time for this stuff, there is still much bigger things ahead of us that we need to fix, and we need to fix it together." I stared at Finn differently, it's like I'm looking at a mature Finn, he grown into a man for sure. I gave a smile.

"Okay, Finn." I then pinched his cheeks.

Candy Kingdom- Princess' Room

*Knock knock* "Hey princess?"

"Go away Jake!"

"(Shish, the princess is acting like some baby.) Hey Princess! Let me in! it's raining outside see, Awoooosh , awwwwooosh , huff.. awooooshhhh.. aachuu!"

"I can completely hear that you made it up, but fine." Jake heard an unlocking sound.

"(Yippy!)" Jake thought.

"Come in." The princess said.

"Princess?" Jake entered a very, very dark room… "Princess.." suddenly the window swung open. "Huh?"

"JAAAKKEEE!" the princess screamed, which alerted the dog.

"Huh?" Jake quickly switched the lights on. But it was too late. Jake rushed to the window.

"Princess! Oh glob!" he then saw some penguins abducting the princess out the window...

"Let me go!" She screamed…

"Oh glob! Not the Ice King!"
