It's one of my favourite jokes. I'd figured since it took me so long to update I'd break the ice with a joke.

Anyways, enjoy!

"Edward, would you stop pacing. You're going to ruin my floors if you keep it up," Esme said, watching me pace.

"I'm sorry Esme, but there's something about Bella and her friends that I can't figure out. I can't read Bella's mind, and Clary's head is full of these Mortal Instruments-whatever that is-and a kid name Jace back in New York. Maia's head is full of Seth and her pack back in New York too," I mused.

"You're saying that their vampires or werewolves?" Jasper asked, sitting on the couch with Alice lying on the couch with her head laying on Jasper's lap, reading a book.

"No I'm not saying that. Actually, Maia might but I don't know about Bella and Clary. I mean, they might know what werewolves and vampires. If they do, they know about different. Not our kind of vampires. You know, the sparkle in the sun sort."

"Edward, stop worrying about it. If we are suppose to know what they know, they'll either tell us or we'll find out out for ourselves," Alice said. "And besides, I can see into the future. So if anything comes up, I'll tell you."

I sighed and sat down. "I guess you're right," I said, looking at the clock.

"School's starting soon, Edward. Are you going?" Carlisle asked.

"If you do, don't forget to bug the crap out of that Swan girl," Emmett called from somewhere from the house.

I snorted. "When don't I?" I asked. "Aren't you guys going to school too?"

"Yeah, but we're not coming with you. We know that you like to go early to see Bella before first period," Rosalie said, walking in.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I said, stubbornly.

"Yes you do. The whole school knows that you like Bella."

"I do not."

"Yeah you do. Have you ever noticed that no one's asked Bella out on a date because they know you like her," Alice said.

"Why would that stop them?" I asked curiously.

"Because you're the popular Edward Cullen. When you want something, you go for it. Honestly, for someone to that can read minds you're pretty clueless," Rosalie said, shaking her head, making everyone laugh. I didn't say anything, because it's somewhat true. So instead I sat down and just waited until everyone else wanted to go to.

"Ugh! Can it be Christmas break already?" Clary said, from her bed doing last minute homework before school.

"Clary, Christmas break starts next week. Plus it's the last day of school, don't you have any patience?" Maia asked, reading.

"No she doesn't. She wishes today was over and it was already tomorrow," I said shaking my head.

"Oh right, tomorrows the day you guys are going back to New York,"Maia said, remembering.

"Yeah and Clary can't wait to see Jace," I teased, that caused me to get hit by a pillow Clary through at me. "You know it's true," I said laughing.

"Yeah, but it doesn't mean you have to say it," Clary said.

"You know you love me."

"Sometime's I wonder," she mused, and that caused me to throw my pillow at her. She laughed. "You know I joke. You're the only Bella in my life."

"And don't you forget it," I said, Maia just shook her head at the two of us.

"You two are complete dorks. I don't know how any of us could not get annoyed with you," Maia said. Me and Clary looked at each other and then back at Maia.

"You're kidding right?" I asked, Maia looked up and shook her head.

"We get called annoying like every ten minutes," Clary answered.

"Or every time they get annoyed with us," I added.

"Still, it makes me wonder why we put up with you two," Maia said, me and Clary both threw our pillows at her.

"Because without us, you guys would get bored with Jace's cockiness. We spice things up for everyone," Clary said beaming.

"Complete dorks," Maia said.

"But you love us," I said, Maia nodded, smiling.

"Girls! You're going to be late for school!" Charlie shouted from downstairs. We all sighed, and packed our stuff before getting up and making our way downstairs. "Honestly, if I didn't have to shout at you three every morning, you guys would probably stay home and not go to school."

"That's the point Charlie," Clary said. Ever since Charlie told Clary the truth, she's been calling him Charlie. We're all still upset with our parents, and a little angry but there's nothing we can't do about it now. Charlie sighed and shook his head.

"I'm going to fishing with Billy Clearwater tonight. So you guys are on your own for supper," he said and walked out the door. We looked at each other and nodded.

"Chinese," we all agreed and walked out and hoped into the truck. We got to the school in record time, Clary pulled in and parked just as I was unbuckling my seat belt.

"Maia, why aren't you coming with us to New York?" Clary asked, as we were walking to the building.

"Seth's mom asked if I wanted to spend Christmas with them. And after talking to my pack, I said yes."

"Awe, our little Maia is growing up," I teased as I rustled her hair.

"Oh shut up. In no time you'll have a boyfriend," she said. "I see the way Edward stares at you, Bella." I made a face.

"I won't date him in a million years," I said, opening the front door and we walked in.

"Don't say that Bella," Clary sang. "Never throw the stone too far, or it will land by your feet."

"That doesn't make any sense," I said.

"Sure it does," Maia said, as if she understands Clary. I gave her a look to explain. "If you say something like that, it might actually happen."

"I'll make sure it doesn't," I said, walking to my locker.

The morning went pretty fast, and in time it was lunch. I met with Clary and Maia at the cafe doors.

It was finally lunch, and I sat at our usual table. "No need to be so sad, Edward," Alice said, making me look up from playing with my food.

"What do you mean? I'm fine," I said defensively, this caused Emmett to snort.

"You've been like this since we arrived this morning," Rosalie said, leaning back on her chair.

"What makes you guys think I'm sad?"

"Well, we know Clary and Bella are going back home for the break. And, based off the conversation we had this morning, you're pretty bummed about it."

I made a face and didn't say anything. Instead, I turned back to my food and waited for Bella and her friends to enter the cafe. When they finally did, they were laughing at something.

"Oh come on Maia, it cant be that bad," Clary said.

"Not that bad? I almost blew up the Chem lab! Ugh, its the most embarrassing I've ever done."

Bella and Clary giggled. "What were you trying to accomplish? Trying to impress someone in the class or what?"

"Nothing of the sort! I've been thinking about Seth and our Christmas together that I forgot which chemicals the teacher told us to mix. And my lab partner was too busy flirting with someone else to even pay attention."

"Awe that sucks. Sorry for laughing," Clary said.

"Don't be, it was funny. I did manage to turn me and my partner's clothes pink," Maia said giggling.

And the rest of the conversation was about Christmas, so I ignored it.

"He's doing it again," I heard Alice mumble.

"What if we told them what he does every lunch?" Rosalie suggested.

"He'd probably have our heads," Emmett said, well he isn't wrong.

"Edward, why don't you just go and sit with them? You know, instead of ease dropping?" Jasper asked, I shrugged.

"Maybe its because she might bitch him out. I mean, she does do that in every biology class."

Before anyone could answer, the Bell rang. I got up from my seat with my tray and dumped it in the trash before making my way to my locker.

Once I grabbed everything I needed, I headed towards bio class.

I walked in and sat at the desk I shared with Bella. I took out my books and waited for class to begin. After a few minutes, Bella walked in and made her way to her seat. "Afternoon Bella," I said as she neared.

Bella gave me a slight smile before sitting down. "Excited for the break?" I asked, she shrugged.

"A bit I guess."

"Only a little bit?" I asked. "You're going to New York, and you're not more excited?" I asked and she turned to look at me.

"How'd you know I was going to New York?"

I shrugged. "Overheard you and Clary talking about it."

"Mhm," she said, not convinced with the answer.

"You should be a little more excited about visiting your family and friends."

"The only thing I'm excited for is being in a different state than you," she retorted.

"Awe Bella, I know you'll miss me," I teased, Bella rolled her eyes. And before either of us could say something, the teacher walked in and began class.

The rest of the day went by pretty smoothly. I was headed towards my car, when I saw Tyler's van sliding. I didn't think much if it until I saw Bella standing by the truck. I knew she was going to get hurt and without thinking, I ran and jumped in front of Bella making the van hit me instead.

Bella stared at me in shock, she looked at the van and then stared at me. This process went on for awhile. And before she could anything I left glad no one saw the stunt I just pulled.

Sorry for taking so long to update. Hope you enjoyed! Sorry for the mistakes, I'll edit another time I just really wanted to post this chapter.
