Chapter 10

Love? That was what Cyril thought, is it really love that she felt towards Gareki and Karoku? Or is she being confused by her own feelings for the two lads. It is true that she cares for them a lot and they too to her. But then, it still bothered her; this tingling feeling that is filing her chest, was it really love of a lover or was it just a love for a friend. It's confusing.

"Gareki…" Cyril thought of Gareki, the person that holds the key to her memories, but then as she was thinking of Gareki, she suddenly remembered the time she spent with Karoku. Karoku was a kind guy who always looks after her ever since she was taken in by Eleska's family.

~flashback~

Cyril was found by some of Uro's subordinates 5 years ago half dead on a beach shore not far from the mansion of Eleska's family, the young Cyril was almost half dead. What made them save her is that Uro recognize her features; porcelain like pale skin, white silky hair, rosy lips which became bluish because of the freezing sea.

"Quick! Ready my equipments!" Uro ordered his subordinates as he carried Cyril back to the mansion. Upon arriving there, Uro immediately tend to Cyril, for he can't lose such precious pawn that Palnedo, Eleska's grandfather, could be of use in the future.

This young girl is very important, one is she is or she might be the daughter of Klaus Kleifield who is known for his research for the antidote for the Varga virus, two she might be one of the Kleifield sisters which possess the body that can rejects and weaken the effect of the Varga virus. And as he took some samples and had them tested, he had confirmed that this girl is indeed Klaus Kleifield's daughter, and by her age, she is the younger sister.

To put up on a great act, Palnedo ordered to treat Cyril well. And so they did. After a month of being unconscious, Cyril finally woke up but unfortunately she had lost all of her memories.

"Good morning, my lady. How are you feeling?" Uro asked with a smile on his face, a fake smile.

"Hnn… who…who are you? Wh…where am i?' Cyril asked groggily.

"You're here at Smokey Mansion owned by Lord Palnedo. And I am Uro, this household's doctor" Uro answered.

"Ano… who..who am i?" Cyril asked. Uro was not that surprised that Cyril had lost her memories, especially given the state she was in when they found her at the beach shore

"You are… Cyril Kleifield. And you are here because Lord Palnedo was asked by your parent to look after you while you recover" Uro told her.

"I… I see…"

"Rest some more Lady Cyril, so you'd get well faster" Uro advised Cyril with a gentle smile reassuring Cyril. And with that Cyril slept again.

After a week, Cyril had finally recovered and is now able to walk, while she roam around the mansion, her feet brought her to the mansion's garden where she met a stunning guy with silverfish blue locks and owns such angelic face, but despite of his beautiful face his eyes holds sadness that Cyril can feel just by looking at him. Because she was so captivated by his beautiful features, she didn't notice that the young man she was staring at had already noticed her.

"Hello..." Karoku greeted her with a small smile.

"Uhmm… he... hello…" smile shyly.

"I'm Karoku, What's yours?" Karoku asked.

"I.. I'm Cyril…" Cyril smiled a bit.

"Cyril huh… a name meaning king… are you a boy?" Karoku asked teasing.

"Eh?! No! I'm a girl" Cyril said in defense, making Karoku chuckles.

"I know… I was just teasing you" Karoku said to her.

"Mou… teasing is bad." Cyril said pouting.

"But it helps to lighten ones mood" Karoku reasoned out making Cyril nothing to retort back.

"See? I'm right." Karoku said smiling.

"But it's still bad because its mean to tease others." Cyril talked back.

"If you say so..' Karoku just said as he smiles.

"I hate your smile" Cyril said pouting.

"You… you do?" Karoku asked looking sad.

"Ek! No… I don't… I didn't mean it like that" Cyril said but then suddenly Karoku laughed making Cyril a bit confused.

"hahahaha… I got you again" Karoku said.

"Mou!" Cyril smiled as she playfully hit Karoku's arm.

And there the friendship between the two started and also that is when Eleska's jealousy also started, because she herself can't even make Karoku laugh like that. So how can a stranger like her make Karoku laugh like that; Eleska is so jealous that since then she makes sure she'd always be there when Cyril and Karoku are together.

One year passed by so fast that Karoku had really became so attached to Cyril so is Cyril, but then it was also the time where Karoku noticed the certain longing on Cyril's eyes. That was the time where she started to dreamed of the black haired boy who Cyril think holds the key on her memories. And seeing that cyril's attention was on other people, specially a boy; it made Karoku feel a feeling that he never thought he'd feel. Jealousy.

That is why Karoku hadn't spoken to Cyril for almost a week when he learned of the boy in Cyril's dream. He distanced himself to Cyril to think things over; but as he was distancing himself to Cyril. That was the time where Uro had performed the first varga testing on Cyril's body.

After injecting Varga virus on Cyril's body; her body immediately rejected it and she started to bleed out. Her nose bled and the tears that are coming out from her are blood. When Karoku saw how Cyril's body rejects the virus, specially a large amount of virus. He had immediately stopped Uro for doing anything further on Cyril's body. And of course Uro complied but not because of Karoku's request but because he can't afford to lose such specimen.

Karoku had stayed by Cyril's side throughout her recovery period. Uro on the other hand had examined Cyril's blood sample and found that there were no trace of the virus but the only effect it caused was damage her immune system and to slow the pace of her memory recovery. Because of the experiment, Cyril had lost her ability to walk for the time being; because the virus had affected her motor skills the most during the experiment and also it had weakened her immune system that cause her, her fever.

"I'm fine now, really" Cyril said reassuring Karoku with a very energetic smile.

"I'm sorry, if I hadn't…" Karoku wasn't able to finish his sentence when Cyril had shushed him.

"It's not your fault that happened, I agreed to it willingly. So if you won't stop blaming yourself, I might not forgive myself because you're blaming yourself" Cyril said.

"Ah, sorry; I won't bring this topic anymore. Okay?" Karoku said.

"Okay" Cyril said smiling.

Days went by and Karoku grew closer to Cyril and later he had confirmed his feeling for Cyril. He is now sure that he is in love with Cyril; the thing is he doesn't know how to confess, especially now that she began to remember this black haired boy again; causing him to feel jealous and possessive of Cyril. He is aware that he shouldn't feel this way because that boy is probably one of the people that is important to Cyril, and in much worse case scenario; Cyril' love interest; making him more jealous because for him, Cyril is his now. But what can he do when the time comes when Cyril leaves him. Can he bear that? Can h live knowing he had lied to Cyril just to keep her to himself? He has answers to both of those questions which contradicts one another and that is NO.

Remembering these Cyril remembers that there were times where Karoku would make those sad glances to her. Though she wants to ask him what's the matter; she can't because somewhere in her knows it's because of her.

"Karoku…" Cyril mumbled his name as she thought of his sad smiles that he would always flash to her. "I'm sorry…" with unknown reasons tears began to form on her eyes, feeling guilt as she thinks she's the reason why Karoku is sad. But then though she want to meet him and assure him she's safe there is this thing that stops her. More of someone though, and that s Gareki; the person who she thinks has an important role to her life. Now she is left with huge confusion that in her heart.
