Chapter 10 Prepare for Battle

With time against them and no idea what was happening on the other side of that portal, zelda and the others were preparing to storm the other side to aid Link, thanks to the assistance of non other than vlad.

As he and Zelda continued to talk about his meeting with Link and what will await them on the other side the rest of the group prepared for battle.

Flashback

As the group continued to wait for what felt like days, the tension was clear.

Darunia slammed his fists down on the table, almost collapsing it under the force. "this is taking too long, we have to storm in there and help Link now!"

"No!" Zelda yelled out "remember what that thing said, if we follow Link in thier, he'll kill lana!"

At this everyone stood down, still with looks of anxiety on their faces.

Impa walked up to zelda once everyone had calmed down a little "princess...he's right. The longer we sit and do nothing, we run the risk of losing Link and lana altogether" she whisper to zelda.

The princess said nothing, she just stood there, thinking about their predicament and what could be done to fix it.

As she was pondering this, there was a giant flash coming the portal that got everyone's attention.

"Everyone attack formation, we don't know what's coming through" Zelda yelled

At this the whole room got into a fighting stance around the portal, even the barkeep picked up a broom as if it would help.

"Steady..." came Impa's words as calmly as possible all while the portal continued to flash and spark as the shape of a humanoid figure came into view.

Zelda raised her hand to signal everyone to wait, with Darunia getting more and more anxious and after what felt like hours the figure finally emerged.

Once out of the portal the figure looked up, the group saw that it wasn't Link or Lana and Darunia immediately attacked.

Throwing the first the punch Darunia let out a battle cry that made everyone jump back, including the figure, who managed to dodge the attack and parry, by kick Darunia in the head, knocking him back.

"Everyone, now!" Zelda yelled.

With this everyone else charged the figure, only to be met by a barrage of attacks, the group were barely able to block, dodge or counter.

Impa made a downwards slash at him, while Zelda shot an arrow in his direction, only to for him to block impa's attack and redirect it to deflect the arrow, sending it towards Ruto, who only just dodged it.

Fi transformed into the goddess sword and attempted to stab him in the back only to be parried and knocked towards agitha, but luckily stopped just in time.

Impa went to Zelda's side in defence "he's good" she whispered to the princess.

"...and yet he hasn't made an attack of his own, only parrying?" Zelda said thoughtful as to why their enemy hadn't taken any opportunities to make a lethal strike.

But as she was pondering this darunia had gotten back up and while their foe was distracted, he clubbed him in the back with his hammer, knocking him into the wall causing it to crack, knock him out.

"...augh" the figure moan in pain, "stay down!" darunia roared holding the hammer out threateningly.

As it was clear that he wasn't getting back up, everyone came closer and were able to make out his face as he stared back at them and then spoke "I knew Link had tough friends, but I never saw that coming".

At the Mention of Link's name, everyone everyone began closing in on him, until Zelda raised a hand to stop them.

"How do you know Link" she asked, giving this stranger the benefit of the doubt.

The man piled on the floor shifted his body slightly, trying to sit up. "I helped him to reach his wife, with a little extra training" he said "fast learner".

"Who are you" Impa asked him on the princesses behalf.

He looked over at her and removed him face cover "i'm Vlad and once I gave Link some training in stealth to help him infiltrate the masters fortress".

All eyes went wide at this "where is he does he need our help" Zelda said clearly on edge with worry.

Vlad looked at her seriously and said "he's good, but trust me, the masters better".

Return to present

"Your certain" Zelda said making sure their were no major risks to the mission.

Vlad turned and replied "positive, he lied to make sure you lot didn't follow".

As the group were just about ready to storm the portal to aid Link, Zelda walked out to the front of the group.

"Everyone!" She yelled getting the attention of everyone in the room "Our fellow soldiers and friends, Link and Lana are on the other side of that portal and their in danger".

Everyone stared intently at her as she gave a post battle speech.

"Let us not forget what those two have done for Hyrule and for you, Now we need to do something for them, we need to Bring our friends home and put a stop to the madman, trying to hurt them!"

At this everyone gave a roar of applause, immediately getting riled up for the upcoming fight.

Zelda then turned to Impa "are the men prepared?" she asked her servant, wanting to be sure that everyone was as well prepared as possible.

"Yes, they are all fully armoured and have their blades sharpened perfectly" Impa told her.

"Good, we need everyone in top form for this attack. we want to keep the death toll as low as possible" Zelda said, deep down she knew that they were up against the strongest army they have ever faced and that the armor these men wear could be the difference between life and death.

As she contemplated this, the portal started flashing again, getting everyone's attention.

"Vlad, was anybody else told to come here?" Zelda asked him.

"No just me!" he said getting into a fighting stance alongside darunia, the two gave an awkward sideways glance, clearly still carrying a minor vendetta about the fight.

As the portal continued to spark and flash everyone surrounded it, prepared for the worst.

With one final flash two bodies were thrown out of the portal and crashed into Zelda, darunia, Agitha and the three stooges, knocking them all to the floor in a daze.

Vlad and Impa managed to avoid the wreck that was now a mangle of body parts on the floor.

"Ugh..." Zelda moaned as she tried to sit up, while her eyes got back into focus she noticed something "huh...Blue hair, Lana!"

She was right it was indeed Lana, who was just as dazed and dizzy as everyone on the ground.

"Ugh, ah! everyone!" Lana cried as she came to her senses.

"Lana!" everyone cried as darunia picked her up and pulled her into a big bear hug "oh thank goodness your ok, we were worried sick you know!" he yelled like a father scolding his daughter.

Everyone else got up to greet her and check that she was ok.

"Sheesh don't everyone help at once" came a sarcastic voice from underneath one overweight soldier by the name of Curly who stiff couldn't get up, all while tapping her fingers on the ground.

"Cia!" everyone gasped.

A few people surrounded her with the expectation of an attack.

"No wait, she's on our side!" Lana said rushing to her other halfs aid, prompting everyone else to do the same.

As Impa and Vlad pulled the soldier off of Cia, Lana helped her up "are you ok?" she then asked.

"I've felt better, but otherwise ok" Cia replied to her.

"Lana, how is Cia here and Why?" Impa asked her as everyone else looked one with interest.

Cia looked a little unsettled as if she wasn't sure where she fit in here, but Lana spoke up for her.

"We're sisters now and we're going to share Link!" She announced to everyone.

"Man, Link gets all the girls" Moe said in frustration.

As everyone stared in shock clearly still trying to understand and believe what they were seeing Zelda spoke up and asked "where is Link?"

At this the two of them gave a look of great discomfort and worry as they then explained everything that had happened before they returned to Hyrule.
