CHAPTER-10: RELIEF
Kaname wasn't relieved. Of cause he wasn't. Why would he be? He was a pureblood with far more important things to be doing than expressing sentimentality. That's why when Takuma entered his office to inform him that Zero had awoken, he had not expressed any emotion. But that did not mean he didn't feel it. But he would never admit, not even to himself, that he had felt relief at the silverette's improving health. No, it must have been something else he felt lifting the weight of his shoulders.
Within the week Zero was back at the moon dorm and attending classes. Cross had demanded that the silverette take it easy and have a weeks more bed rest, but it fell on deaf ears and Zero was going about his business as usual. Kaname had agreed with Cross that Zero should have taken it easy for a few more days bit he would never have said anything, after all he didn't care, right? Besides the teen seamed fine.
That was until Kaname was walking down to dinner one night. He was running a bit late and all the other vampires where already seated, apart from one. As Kaname turned down the corridor he saw Zero stumbling down the hallway, having to hold the wall for support and his breath coming out in ragged gasps. Walking past the silverette, the pureblood glanced over and their eyes met for a moment. At the sight of Zero's pain filled expression, Kaname felt his stomach clench in guilt. "Guilt?" Kaname questioned himself. "Why am I feeling guilt? This is not my problem. It has nothing to do with me." He silently told himself and carried on walking to the dinning room and sat through dinner, but he found the usually delicious food inedible. Zero had sat through dinner as well, not showing any sign of his discomfort apart from him resting a hand protectively over his side.
"So the punk's back, hugh?" Niku said casually from where he was leaning against the wall in the library.
"Oh, you don't say!" Ruka replied sarcastically. "We're not blind idiot. We know!" She spat angrily.
"So?" Aidou asked.
"So what?" Ruka questioned in confusion and throwing his a look of distaste.
"So what we gonna do now?" Aidou exclaimed.
"Aidou's right. We can't just sit back and let that filthy ex-human march around like he owns the place. We need to teach him a lesson." Niku shouted.
"Calm yourself, Niku. Your temper isn't helping anybody." Leon told the blond sternly. He was stood with his back to them and his hands resting on the mantelpiece.
"So what is it you suggest we do?" Ruka asked in a challenging tone.
"We wait. Let him heal. It's not polite to kick a man when he's down. But when he's well, then the fun can really begin! We shall punish him for stepping out of line and teach him to stay in his place. By the time we're done he shall never stand against our kind again." Leon informed his voice filled with passion. Around the room all the metal objects, such as candlesticks and knobs on the cupboards, started to shake and vibrate. The rest of the nobles nodded in agreement and soon began to discuss their plan ideas. Leon couldn't help the smile that graced his face as he thought of all the mayhem that he wound soon be sending the ex-humans way.
Ohh! Look out Zero, there's a storm coming. Anyone want to make a guess at what the nobles are planning? Also any guesses as to what Leon and Niku's powers are?
Ok, I know its a short chapter, but I'm giving you two in one day, so don't complain. I just needed to get Zero back in the dorm before I could continue.
