(Plan & Prepare for Party)

Part 2

After Exiting the Boys' Room...

Rancis walked out from his shared room with Swizzle and Gloyd, looking for the one person to help him in his time of need: Tails.

"If Tails can make a set of Extreme Gear for racers like us, then he should have a few wrist communicators lying around," Rancis thought to himself as he walked to the clerk's desk.

"Excuse me, but is Tails here," he asked.

"Tails from Sonic Riders," she clarified. He nodded yes.

She picked up a phone and started dialing.

Within seconds, Tails picked up.

"Hello," he answered.

"Hello, Mr. Prower," she answered. "You have someone here who wants to see you."

"Why don't you send him over to my workshop," Tails suggested.

"Okay," she agreed. "he will be right over," she finished.

They both hung up simultaneously as she directed her attention back to Rancis who was pacing in circles to make the time go by.

"Mr. Prower is at his workshop. If you go to the back of the resort and follow the trail, there will be a small building there with a airplane on the side located at the end a clearing. That is wear the he is," the clerk said as she pointed to the exit at the opposite end of the building.

He thanked her as he ran in the direction of the workshop (running through a few guests) as he made his way out of the resort. Rancis was lost for a few minutes before he passed by Sonic who was ironically coming from the fox's workshop.

"Hey, Sonic? Can you show me where Tails' workshop is," the desperate asked.

Just head in the direction I came from and you will be right there," the hedgehog said with a smirk. As Rancis high fived him and ran forward.

"Sometimes, I think that guy maybe like me," the hedgehog thought. "Doing what's right as he protects his friends. Maybe he could look into what is going on during the tournament," the hedgehog wondered as he walked in the direction of the resort.

Outside Tails' Workshop...

Rancis was panting but saw Tails workshop right in front of him. Once he knocked on the door, a hidden camera came out and observed him, it was freaky but the door and Rancis walked inside.

"Hello again, Rancis Fluggerbutter," Tails said as Rancis saw Tails working on possibly another project he was tasked with on his own agenda.

"Say, Tails. I wondering do you have any wrist communicators that me and my friends could borrow to help find out what's wrong with the tournament races," Rancis said causing Tails to stop working.

"Well, yeah. I made some for me and my friends...but since you are looking into the problems that are happening so far. Sure," Tails answered as he pointed to box full of experimental watches for testing.

"Awesome," Rancis said as he picked up the box and prepared to leave when Tails stopped him.

"At least, you're the right person and the right team to test them. Tell me how they work out," Tails said as he went back to work as Rancis left the workshop and headed back to the resort.

Back At The Resort...

Rancis entered into his room as Swizz and Gloyd were playing UNO.

"You're back? Where did you go," Gloyd asked.

A friend," Rancis said as held up the wrist communicators.

"What are those," Swizzle asked.

"Wrist communicators. Just for the 3 of us," Rancis answered giving one to both of his friends.

"These will be a valuable tool to use during the races and for updates on any given information," Rancis the advantages for the device.

"Sweet," Gloyd and Swizzle said in unison as the put on their communicators and adjusted them for comfort on their wrists.

"Okay, boys," Rancis announced. "Lets do it to it."

"Where have I heard that before," Gloyd asked. "Easy, thats what Sonic the Hedgehog use to say," Swizzle answered.

"Anyway, lets get to work, boys," Rancis said as they left room to do their jobs.

Later...At The Laua...

Rancis and Vanellope were enjoying themselves as they see various characters from different games dance in 'almost' Hawaiian tribal/ceremonial outfit. Even some the characters who weren't even in the competition were enjoying themselves. During the about halfway through the luau, Rancis suggested she should try it herself but Vanellope denied it. Saying that she would feel uncomfortable in their outfits. Until...

"Everyone. May I have your attention for just a moment," the chao in charge of the event spoke walked onstage while the previous scheduled dancers exited the poduim.

"We are gathered here at the beautiful Splash Canyon to honor the racers who are putting everything they've got into this competition. This event is sponsored by Meteor Tech and may their evergrowing company bless this place to be brought into the 21st century," the chao said as he brought his hands together as if he was going to pray.

"Also, I would want a couple of volunteers to come on stage to recieve a special surprise that I have...," he asked searching around the crowd to point out any potential couples until he found one.

"...like you 2 to come here," he said pointing to Vanellope and Rancis.

"Wait? Us," they asked in unison.

"Yes. You 2 look like a cute couple. Come on up here," he answered as they got up from the seats and headed onstage. "What are your names," he asked.

"Vanellope von Schweetz and Rancis Fluggerbutter," Vanellope introduced herself and Rancis while they looked at the crowd which instantly went silent.

"Wait a minute. Your Princess Vanellope and Rancis Fluggerbutter? From that arcade racing game, Sugar Rush," he asked with both nodding their heads yes.

"Well, everyone it seems we have a couple of racing superstars who secretly graced us with their presence tonight," the chao announced to everyone as they cheered.

"I know you made reservations to come to our laua tonight but I had to see you 2 in the flesh to be sure. But if you would have told us sooner that you were coming when we would have prepared," he asked in embarrasement with Vanellope and Rancis still trying to process this change in events.

"Okay, boys! Bring 'em out," he ordered as several chao helped each other lift 2 specially made chairs (a throne fit for a royal couple) onto the stage and 2 King and Queen like crowns & 2 sashes said,"The Prince/Princess Of SR (Sonic Riders). The couple were wondering were those for them.

"By the power invested in me and the people in here who are witnessing this momentous event, I well, we would like to crown Rancis Fluggerbutter to be the 'Prince Of Sonic Riders'...," he announced as 2 chao lowered a crown on Rancis complete with a sash and a mini-staff. "...and Vanellope von Schweetz to be the 'Princess Of Sonic Riders,'" he finshed as 2 other chao lowered a tiara onto Vanellope complete with flowers.

"A throne fit for a royal couple," the chao commented as the couple saw their seats.

"This is truly the best night of my life," Vanellope and Rancis yelled in their minds as they took their seats and prepared for the remaining events of the laua.

Out Near The Beach...

Swizzle and Minty were just enjoying their time together as the Sun was setting little by little over the hills into the horizon. The entire time they were there, a chao would come by and ask if they needed anything (like a personal butler). Minty wanted to take advantage of this opportunity and asked for any drink that would surprise her in appearance and taste. And once she got it, she felt like dying because it made her have a heart and she was stunned and speechless, not to mention frozen for a full minute because she didn't know how to describe the tasteful sensation to the mysterious smoothies.

Is there anything else that I can assist you sir," the chao asked with no emotion whatsoever.

"No, I think we are good. You may leave," Swizzle said as the butler took a bow and left leaving the couple in piece.

"Hey, Minty. How are you enjoying your vacation from racing," Swizzle asked.

"It's feels great," Minty said trying to adjust herself into a comfortable position on the chair.

"Well, I've got a feeling that its only gonna get better," Swizzle said making Minty feel anxious

"Really," Minty asked.

"Yeah," he said as they stared at the remaining sunset.

Meanwhile...At The Back Of The Hotel...

Gloyd had everything setup. From the table of refreshments (courtesy of the hotel's resources) to the buns that will go well with whats on the grill to the barbecue pit that was vacant...for the moment.

The barbecue pit was already set up with coal and gasoline already open and ready for usage. All it needed was a match or a lighter. When he found a lighter, he switched it on and gently...WHOOSSSHHH...

"Ye-ouch! That nearly could've burnt my hand off," he commented as after the grill instantly came alive. "Anyway, its time to get cooking for dinner."

Gloyd put on some hot dogs, burgers, and ribs. Once the first batch was on the grill, cooking to perfection, Gloyd closed the grill cover and headed back to the rooms to get Taffyta, Candlehead, Crumbelina, Adorabeezle, Jubileena and Snowanna.

Gloyd decided that this was the perfect time to contact Rancis and Swizz about his progress with dinner. So he pressed a button on his communicator that said, "RECORD."

"Yo, Rancis, Swizzle. The food is cooking. I'm going to get the girls from their room. In the meantime, why don't you guys (and your girlfriends) start making your way to the back of the hotel. The food will be ready within the hour," he announced as he pressed "SEND."

With that being done, headed back to the room(s).

The Girls' Hotel Room...

With Vanellope and Minty distracted by their 'boyfriends,' the others were just bored out of their minds and were conversing on what to do next.

"Good news, there was a laua planned not to long ago...," Taffyta announced as every girl was focused on Taffyta. "...but the bad news is its about to end."

"Oh, come on," Crumbelina said feeling even more bored with barely any 'entertaining' options left to pursue.

"If you ask me, I say forget about the events and focus on our appetites, I getting hungry," complained Adorabeezle as her stomach to growl.

"Yeah me, too," Snowanna agreed as she rubbed her stomach.

"Same here," Jubileena reluctantly agreed since her insides haven't had a meal since earlier.

"Would you girls relax," Candlehead said taking the floor. "I have a feeling that tonight is going to be a night to remember, not just food wise."

"Really...what makes you sure," Taffyta asked in a mocking sarcastic tone.

Then someone gave knock on the door. Snowanna opened the door to see Gloyd.

"What's up, Gloyd, " she asked.

"Well...," he started feeling nervous. "Rancis, Swizzle and I wanted to prepare something special for you girls tonight," he answered causing the girls in the room to get curious.

"Just meet me in the hotel lobby in 2 minutes," he instructed as he closed the room door and started walking down the hallway while the girls were now EVEN more curious for what the prankster had in store for them. They eyed each other in complete awkward silence until they all (in a unlady-like and comedy fashion) ran for the door while pushing and shoving each other until they all were in the hallway chasing after the Pumpkinhead.

Back Outside...

Rancis and Vanellope were able to meet up with Swizzle and Minty. Both couples were going off simultaneously about their evening. Rancis and Vanellope were telling the Swizz and Minty that they were 'worshipped' as the Royal Sugar Rush Couple while Swizzle and Minty were telling how they felt like 'retired millionaires.' Thankfully, when the boys had some time to themselves, Rancis and Swizzle reviewed Gloyd's earlier message (you know, wrist communiators and all), so they starting acting clueless until the time was right to surprise the girls.

"Do you think Gloyd has everything under control," Swizzle asked.

"Knowing him, he'll probably WANT everything under control," Rancis answered. "Because if it ever goes wrong, we know Gloyd won't take it sitting down."

All Swizzle could was nod his head in agreement as the pair met up with the girls and proceeded to the front doors of the hotel.

Hotel Lobby...

Unknown to the girls, the boys were letting the plan unfold as the Gloyd 'ran into' the couples in the lobby.

"Hey, guys," Gloyd.

"What's up, Pumpkinhead," Rancis greeted.

"You guys ready to unveil our little surprise to the girls," Gloyd asked.

"Yeah, sure," Swizzle answered.

"But can it wait, I'm starving," Vanellope whined as she didn't ask Rancis to take her to restaurant so they could eat out.

"Yeah, what she said," Minty seconded since she only drank tropical smoothies the whole afternoon.

"Don't worry, I'll take of your hunger problem. Just follow me," Gloyd said as he motioned the group to follow him.

Apparently, not to far down the corridor, they heard someone shouting, "Wait for us!"

At The Back Of The Hotel...Again...

While the barbcue was being cooked to perfection, the boys surprised the girls...

"So in order to celebrate the success of our first race, we, the boys decided to plan this for you girls," Gloyd announced as he walked to the barbecue to check the food while everyone else saw the back patio with complete with tables and refreshments.

"Dude, you set all of this up," Rancis and Swizzle asked in awestruck.

"Yep. It only took me 2 hours," Gloyd answered as he started poking the food with a spatula.

"When will the food be ready," Taffyta asked as she her group arrived soon after.

"Technically speaking, right now," Gloyd answered as he started putting the food into some containers for everyone to grab something to eat.

Apparently, patience wasn't a strong suit for a the girls and they all jumped Gloyd for the food with him caught in the middle with Rancis and Swizzle looking at the scene in horror. Despite receiving minor knocks to the body and head, he kept a straight face when the girls were almost done eating Thankfully, he had enough for seconds otherwise, the females could have gone 'cannibal.'

"And thats why you never get in between a girl and her meal," Rancis commented.

"True that," Swizzle responded as they went to get whats left of the food.

Meanwhile... Stalking Somewhere Nearby...

"Hmm? It seems the glitch is having herself a party, no matter. She and 'her subjects' should enjoy their first victory in this competition. After all, its only matter of time til they all pay. And once the next race comes around, you better watch your friends as much as you watch your opponents, glitch, otherwise you will wind up going off the side of a waterfall," Turbo snickered as he walked planning his next move for the upcoming race.

The race through Splash Canyon is on! Will the 'Sugar Rushers' be ready to step up or will they get caught in the 'wet and wild' rapids carry them to a steep and quick 'GAME OVER?' May the chapter commence...soon.
