Oookay. Sorry about being dead for a few months. I got stuck with this story again. The thing is, I don't want to make it bland and boring, and I'm running out of ideas to make it not bland and boring. That, and I'm busy both with work and other projects. Anyways, enjoy this one, and I'll have another out soonest.

Allegra, R &B

"Have you seen Kaori?" Zoe asked her.

Allegra tightened her bindings, hiding her smirk. "I don't know, but Mac's gone as well…"

The other woman mulled over this. "Well, as long as he isn't hurting her."

"I heard Mac say he'd only miss a freestyle event for something important." Allegra said helpfully.

Zoe sighed and yanked the bindings on her right boot tight. "I just hope Kaori's happy."

"Woah, you have feelings? That's incredible." Allegra did her best to look shocked. She raised her arm and laughed as Zoe threw a clump of snow at her.

"Shut up Sauvagess." Zoe replied, smiling all the same.

The five-minute call came, announcing that Zoe and Allegra were the first two up, and set to throw down.

"Feel like pushing your luck Allegra?" Zoe asked, eyes glittering menacingly.

"I feel like winning, sorry to disappoint you." She replied, a taunting smirk written across her face.

"Uh-huh."

They made their way over to the gates, the other boarders watching with interest. This was a match they had to see. The main purpose of throwing two boarders onto the course at once was purely in the interest of motivating them to blaze down the slopes as hard as they could. So, the organizers often threw together two boarders with chemistry, or a rivalry.

Zoe and Allegra had a bit of both.

The Booth, Atomika and Maddie

"You ready?"

"Course I am."

Atomika could tell differently. Maddie was actually still for once. She tested her mic for the tenth time.

"Maddie, the microphone is working. I checked before you did."

"Shut up." She was quiet.

Atomika sighed. "Come on Mad. You got this, you've done all your lines without a single mistake."

"Thanks for jinxing me then." She grumbled, but he noticed than one of her legs under the table had started jogging in place. Something he was glad to see, her energetic persona was why Ormstead had wanted her to take over the event commentary. Nelly tired of doing it, and her accent occasionally interfered with her delivery.

Orms had told him last night the reason he had brought Maddie onto the circuit, and Atomika wasn't entirely shocked. She would be ideal for commentating duty; her natural energy greatly helped her in this aspect.

Below, he could see Allegra and Zoe sliding into their slots, bracing as they waited for the green.

The Maddie's own light went green. The change was immediate, and startling. A smile spread over her face, and it seemed as if she had been jolted with a massive dose of electricity. "Welcome to the R and B freestyle event!" She had cocked her head to the side, her demeanor as if she was talking to someone right in front of her.

"Our first two riders are slotted up-" He had never thought to use that choice of words. "-and ready to go. And to Allegra, here's some Finger Eleven."

Below, Allegra waved in a friendly fashion at the booth. Then the countdown began.

The match was a damn good one. Maddie's commentary was minimal, but when she did speak, it was pure gold. She kept everyone up to date on the score, and how Zoe's performance measured up to her previous ones.

When the two women crossed the finish line, Maddie leaned back in her chair, and propped her feet up on the desk. She flashed Atomika a taunting glance, grinning widely.

"What?" Atomika asked. "I did say you could handle this."

"Yeah yeah, whatever." She replied offhandedly.

He would never understand her.

Psymon, R & B

You had to be crazy to win these things. And with Mac and Kaori absent, Psymon had this in the bag. No one was crazy as Sketchy!

He was insane, bonkers, throw in all the adjectives you wanted. He'd prove them all true, and win while he was doing it.

They set him against Seeiah. She had no idea that she had already lost. Mad Mad put on some tunes. What was that song? Medication, by Queens of the Stone Age.

How fitting. Not that he had ever needed medication of any sort. Well, other people did, but he knew better. You didn't fight insanity by fighting it. You embraced it, greeted it as a friend, as family.

It was part of him by now anyways, and if he was going to be stuck with his Tattoo for the rest of his life, then might as well use it to gain fame and glory.

It was already whispering into his ears, tracing red lines on the snow. The lines didn't go along the safest route, nor the best for points. It choose the most certifiably batshit insane path down the slope.

It was the only way he would take, and the only one everyone would definitely avoid. It would mark him as the craziest, the ballsiest, and the champion. Let Moby and Zoe have the races. Let Zoe be the Queen of Metro, and he could be the King of the Junction.

Then no Moby. What proper Englishman would break up a royal wedding?

Seeiah lost to him, on all accounts, and Psymon's performance launched him into first.

You just can't beat insanity.

Atomika, the Booth

"Okay, so they're both alright?"

"More than alright." Catherine sounded mischievous. "I'd say they're feeling more- frisky than hurt."

Atomika spat water all over his desk, and Maddie choked on her bread.

"They were having sex when Patrol found them?" Maddie asked bluntly.

"No, no, just kissing in the snow." Cat laughed over the radio. "Embarrassed both of them to death, being caught."

"So are they trying to make it back to the competition?" Atomika asked, also looking for a towel to wipe his desk off with.

"No, last thing Mac said was that they were going back to the lodge." Catherine answered.

"To get frisky." Maddie finished. Atomika snorted as his shoulders started to shake.

"What was that?"

"Nothing." Maddie replied quickly, trying hard to suppress her giggles.

Atomika mastered himself. "Alright Cat, thanks for the information." He turned his radio off and spun in his chair to face Maddie. "Something is wrong with you." Though he was laughing.

"I know." Maddie grinned as she collapsed back in her chair.

"Get ready, next round starts in five."

It was Moby and Psymon, set against the other. The light went green, and they both flew down the slope striving for points. Moby went up big first, performing a 720 spaghetti that left Psymon in the dust until Stark responded with massive air, and three diving flips that stunned the judges and put him ahead. Jones was not to be left out, on the next ramp he pulled a flip and kickflip, managing to get his board back under him just as he hit the ground.

Stark had hit a rail, then flipped onto another, before finally disappearing into an ice flume, then reemerging out onto a ramp to pull off his signature Guillotine. Moby countered with more rail time, and a close backflip off of some noseboarding.

They were now tied for points, more or less, and only with a minute to go. Psymon snaked another good route, skidding off a sign into a full Headcase that he pulled off before hitting the snow. Moby, though, had found an even better route, he pulled three 360 flips and a Frontside Invert to a Spur, launching him into first.

This was very entertaining. Both men were risk takers in the extreme, they would halt at nothing to win, especially against each other.

Thirty seconds, and both were damn close to the finish. Now they got desperate. This was the portion of the freestyle where both riders threw up everything they had, both to get last minute points, and to get mountain cred. Nothing got more respect than a flawless last act.

Psymon yanked another Guillotine and rode three rails, taking his feet out the bindings and riding the board's edge. Moby did another inverted frontside off a small ramp, then went off trail to hit another ramp, this time to do a Cab that put him ahead of Psymon when they both crossed the finish line.

"Damn, you weren't kidding." Maddie said as she watched Moby and Psymon both head towards the trams.

"What?"

"This being big." A look at his face set her hurrying to explain. "I mean I knew it was big. That's why I even accepted Ormstead's offer in the first place, but I never figured it would be more than a few flips and spins by these guys."

"Well." He joined her at the window she was staring out of. "I didn't really know what to expect either when Ormstead brought me on. Then it was all chaos, or what seemed to be chaos to me."

"They certainly are wild." Maddie grinned. "I'll never forget drunk Psymon, running out into the snow in only boxers and a lamp shade."

"Well, they are the best and wildest snowboarders in the world." Atomika laughed. "I guess we gotta allow them their controlled chaos."
