As always, thank you so much to everyone who reviewed!

Karen awoke later that evening. The only light that shone in her hospital room was a lamp in the corner, next to where Jack had fallen asleep in a chair. There was a machine monitoring Karen's heart rate and blood pressure. She pressed one of the buttons on the panel next to her bed to call for a nurse. Karen was still a little tired so she didn't bother yelling when a nurse wasn't at her disposal immediately. However, when the nurse did make it into her room, Karen found herself speaking softly so as not to wake Jack.

" Is everything alright, Mrs. Walker?" The young nurse asked.

"Yes, I'd like to see my daughter." Karen responded as she pulled her hair out of it's messy up-do and ran her fingers through it. "Where is she?"

"I'll have to take you to see her, then." Nurse said. "She's still in the NICU, for the time being."

"Why?" Karen's eyes grew wide with panic. "Is she okay? What's going on?"

"She seems to be doing well," Nurse said as she read Vivian's chart. "It's really just routine for us to keep an eye on newborns whose mothers are over... a certain age. Doctor Wilson also believes that you went into labor so suddenly because the umbilical cord was wrapped around your daughter's neck. So we're just making sure that her breathing and her heart rate are healthy."

Nurse unhooked Karen from the monitors. The sudden absence of sound caused Jack to awake with a jolt.

"Karen?" He said with a distorted look around quickly.

"Everything is fine, poodle." Karen said. "Nurse is taking me to see Vivian. Wanna come with me?"

"Sure." Jack nodded with a sleepy smile.

Karen was pushed in a wheelchair down the dim hallway toward the NICU. She held Jack's hand the entire way, unsure of what condition her baby would be in when they got there. Nurse pushed Karen right next to Vivian's crib. There were wires similar to the ones that Karen had monitoring the infant's breathing and heart rate. Karen stood up and leaned over her daughter. She gently stroked her manicured finger over the baby's cheek.

"Can I hold her?" Karen asked, still admiring her daughter.

"Sure, just take a seat over in that rocking chair." Nurse said.

Jack helped Karen as she walked over to the rocking chair and slowly sat down. Nurse brought Vivian over, wrapped in a blanket. Vivian's eyes stayed closed but she cooed and snuggled closer to her mother's chest.

"Oh my God, she's so tiny." Karen whispered. She touched her daughter's cheek again, this time Vivian wrapped her fingers around her mother's. Karen's breath caught. She never imagined the overwhelming amount of love she would feel for her newborn daughter. It was as if her entire focus in life had suddenly shifted to this tiny little human.

By the next morning, Vivian was deemed healthy enough to be released from the NICU and into her mother's care. Karen could hardly take her eyes off of her daughter the entire time she had her. Even when Jack was holding her, Karen just stared at them together. The gang came by to visit and formally meet the new member of their crazy family. Karen was reluctant to let the others hold her daughter, and made sure that they stayed near her when they did so. Eventually Vivian began to cry, letting her mother know that she was hungry.

Karen pulled out one of her boobs, without shame and not for the first time, and began to nurse Vivian.

"That is so beautiful." Grace said. "That natural bond between a mother and a child."

"Aren't you lucky, Grace," Karen remarked. "Looks like you're gonna get to see my boobies a lot more often. You won't have to find anymore of those ridiculous excuses you've been fishing for."

"Lucky me." Grace smirked.

There was a knock on the door and different nurse poked her head in.

"Mrs. Walker," She smiled.

"Excuse me," Karen said. "Did I say that you could enter?"

"Oh sorry." The nurse apologized as she exited. She knocked again, this time waiting for a response. Karen decided to make her wait a few seconds while Vivian finished on the second breast.

"You may enter."

"There's a Matthew Jones here to see you."

"Okay." Karen nodded.

"Do you want us to leave?" Grace asked. "You know, give guys some time alone."

"No, you can stay." Karen shrugged. "I just told him he could see her when she was born."

Matthew walked in slowly, almost awkwardly as he felt out the mood of the room. He had brought flowers and a bear with him as a gift.

"Wow," He smiled upon seeing his daughter. "She's beautiful."

"Yeah, she has your mouth." Karen responded. "Her name is Vivian. Vivian Emilene Walker."

"That's perfect." He nodded.

"Do you... do you want to hold her?" Karen said hesitantly.

"Yeah." Matthew said as he breathed heavily.

He was nervous to hold the little girl partly because of how small she was and because he didn't know how he would react emotionally. He set down the flowers and the bear on the nightstand and sat on the edge of the bed. Karen carefully handed Vivian over to began to squirm at the sudden shift.

"It's okay," Karen cooed to her daughter. "Make sure that you support her head."

"Okay." Matthew nodded.

"If you don't then it'll fall back and her neck will snap." Karen said, still watching her daughter carefully.

"Just in case I wasn't nervous enough."

Despite his nerves, Matthew was able to maintain his composure as he held his daughter. He was mostly just happy that she didn't cry while he was holding her. Matthew wished that he could hold her and just look at her all day, but he didn't want to overstep any boundaries. Grace took a few pictures for Matthew and soon he felt that it was time for him to leave.

"I guess I should probably get going." He said slowly. "Thank you for letting me see her."

"Yeah." Karen nodded."You're welcome."

Matthew took one last look at his daughter, who was sleeping soundly in her mother's arms.

"Goodbye, Vivian." He whispered.
