The wolves are getting closer. I see Zed falling to the ground. His skin is growing silver fur and his head transforms into a head of a wolf. He stands up on all his four legs and starts growling. Running towards me, he barks. Last thing I see is him jumping on me.

I wake up with a start. Looking around, I slowly calm down. Zed is sleeping next to me, and we're still in the tiny cave. I crawl out of the bag. When I stand up outside, I don't recognize my surroundings. There is sun shining through the fresh green leaves, a stream is running in front of me with fish swimming in a pool at the edge of it. Birds, with mockingjays among them, are singing sweetly above my head. The cold weather is gone.

I walk to the stream and wash my face. The water is cool and refreshing. I find our water bottle and purify the water.

Suddenly, a parachute descends from the sky, scaring me out of my skin. "Aahh!" I scream a little too loudly. A thud comes out from the cave. Some cursing follows it, but Zed sprints out of the cave, crawling, and looks around with panic. When he notices me, a troubled look comes across his face.

"What happened? Is everything alright?!" he asks worriedly.

"Yes, yes, everything is fine. Your face was hilarious though!" I answer laughing.

"Well don't scare me like that again! I nearly got a heart attack. It's not funny!" he replies, scolding me.

"Sorry then!"

I pick up the parachute and open it. A dozen arrows are waiting inside.

"Thank you Katniss, I was starting to go low on them," I whisper.

"What's in there?" Zed appears next to me, "Wow!"

"I'm going to hunt. Go through our stuff and organize it. Also washing yourself wouldn't hurt." I crinkle my nose pretending to smell him.

"Hey!" he laughs, "Stop being mean! But alright. Be safe."

I take the water bottle and a piece of the weasel with me. Then I head off into the woods.

In two hours, I met only a squirrel. Disappointed I return to camp, only to find it empty, with no sign of Zed.

"Zed? Zed! Where are you? It's not funny!" I say aloud.

No response.

I look through the cave, walk around the place, turn every rock, climb every tree. No Zed and no backpack to be found.

He left me, and took my things. I have now nothing but my bow and arrows and some water and meat.

"How could I be so stupid?! Trusting him, thinking he likes me too. Leaving him with everything I have." I cry into my hands.

The bush behind me rustles. I immediately load my bow and concentrate on my target, who just walked out from behind the bush. Unfortunately, it's not Zed.

It's two girls, and except their hair, they look pretty much the same. The one on the left is holding a knife, the one on the right is holding a chain.

"Hey," they say in unison. "We were passing by and we heard you talking to yourself."

I don't say anything and keep my aim on them.

"My name's Lizzy, and this is Izzy. We're twins. Capitol 2. Pleased to meet you. Relax."

"Drop your weapons and walk over to the stream. Then I'll relax," I finally answer.

They do as I say and I pick up their weapons. Then I finally lower my bow.

"What do you want?" I ask.

"We've got unfinished business with Zed as well. Until now, you were our enemy. But now you look like a potential ally. What do you think?" they ask, smirking.

I must admit, they are badass. And they're after Zed.

They look strong, almost as if they weren't from the Capitol. Izzy has black hair, Lizzy has red hair. They both have burn scars on their hands. Given the simple weapons they have, they must be good with them. I won't make the same mistake trusting someone with my stuff, but they could help me hunt down Zed.

"What unfinished business?" I ask curiously.

"Pretty much the same as you, except that he didn't play all lovey-dovey on us. He just played an ally for half of a day and then took our food. Ran away when we were settling in for the night," Izzy answers, spitting at the end of the sentence.

"Alright, we're gonna be allies. I have one request though- if we find him, he won't die a quick death," I say. Although it hurts a little to talk about him like this, it's all he deserves. Playing with my trust isn't a good idea.

It was late afternoon by this time. I didn't have a sleeping bag, and my water was running low. I had a raw squirrel, and that was it.

"You guys have a water purifier?" I ask.

"Yeah, we got it in a parachute. Need water, eh?" Lizzy said.

"Zed took my purifier, and I've got only a few sips left. Can I take a drop?"

They gave me a few drops. I started a small fire and roasted the squirrel.

I tried to start some small talk while waiting for the squirrel to be done. "So... you guys are twins, huh? What's it like?"

They both laugh. "She's my best frie-"

Izzy was cut of by an explosion. Boom. Boom. Boom.

"What the?!" I shout.

"What could set off an explosion?"

"Gamemakers. Kids probably started getting brutal." Lizzy says.

The anthem sounds and we see the faces of the dead. Only three today: the last tributes from Downtown and a boy from the Old Arena.

I take the squirrel of the fire, pick up my stuff and find the best tree to sleep in.

"Bye guys, see you in the morning." I tell them.

"G'night!" they say in unison.

Alive: Lizzy and Izzy from Capitol 2, both girls from the Square, one boy from the Old Arena and Zed and Vanda from the Gardens.
