Chapter 10
Who Can You REALLY Trust? (Part 1)
"Ahhh," Scott sighed happily, snuggling under the covers. "Now this is MUCH better without Owen!"
"Yes," muttered Noah. "Isn't it just?"
In the female Anaconda cabin however, things weren't so peaceful.
"Gwen, this is getting ridiculous!" Courtney snapped. "I thought you were and Trent were through! Is it really that hard to get over someone?"
"Tell that to Duncan," Gwen murmured miserably.
"I swear to God if someone mentions one more boy, I will beat the crap outta them! I CAN'T TAKE IT!" Eva groaned in frustration.
"Come on. She's just upset," Bridgette said, trying to sound comforting though it seemed like there was nothing that could comfort Gwen. And now Sierra was getting teary too.
"I feel you girl . . . I have no real Cody to look after . . . I MISS MY CODYBEAR!" she wailed before she started bawling her eyes out.
"Oh that's it," Eva snarled, stepping to her feet. "COME HERE, YOU!"
Sierra screamed and made a run for it.
Confession Cam:
"I don't think my Codykins would be very impressed if I told him that we've been losing quite a lot of challenges lately," said Sierra. She then perked up slightly. "Hey! In our next challenge, I'll perform at my very best! And then Cody Bear will be so proud!" She jumped to her feet and let out a fangirl squeal. "FOR CODYYYYYY!"
Back to the Island:
Later That Night:
Most of the campers were sleeping peacefully. Sierra had managed to lock herself in the confession booth after Eva had tried to bash her. But one camper was wide awake.
Mal crept into the female Bison cabin, a spade in his hand. He chuckled his evil chuckle as he approached Zoey's bunk. Lowering his eyebrows, he raised the spade, ready to strike.
"Mmm." Zoey lowered her eyebrows, frowning in her sleep.
Mal chuckled again, about to bring down the spade on her.
Zoey opened her eyes and jumped out of bed and stomped towards the light. Mal responded by quickly jumping under her bed before she could spot him.
"HA!" Zoey yelled, switching on the light. "Caught you, Mal!"
"Girl, are you crazy?!" Leshawna groaned as she and the other female Bison scrunched up their eyes and cringed as the light hit them.
Zoey frowned again, looking around her. "I thought I heard Mal."
"Your mind is too focused on the memories of Mal," said Dawn softly. "I cannot sense Mal's presence in Mike's aura so I'm certain that he's not here. If you like, I can teach you how to clear your mind of him."
Zoey sighed, looking around her. "I thought Mal was here . . . Maybe it's just me."
"Baby, you need to learn how to CHILL!" said Leshawna as Zoey turned off the light and climbed back into bed.
Confession Cam:
"Maybe it might be my imagination," muttered Zoey. "But I'm still not sure. Mal's pretty sneaky. I'm not sure if I can trust Mike or not."
X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X
Mal sighed in annoyance. "Zoey's onto me. I'm going have to tone it down. Don't think it's the last you'll see of me though!"
GASP!
Mike blinked around him in confusion. "Um . . . What am I doing in the confession booth?"
Back to the Island:
The Next Morning:
Chris stepped up, looking very glum. Chef Hatchet followed, looking just as miserable.
The host sighed. "Trust . . . That is just one element our campers don't have in their teams, is it?"
Chef Hatchet nodded. "I hate to say it Chris, but it is true."
"It seems that our campers learned nothing from Season 1," murmured Chris sadly.
"But then again, our campers are dumb like that," said Chef, a smirk coming to his face.
Chris sighed for a moment . . . Then he smiled. "So we're gonna see if our campers can trust each other . . . and I mean REALLY trust!"
He held up an airhorn and blasted it, sending the campers running out, covering their ears as best as they could, scrunching up their ears in pain.
"Do you REALLY have to do that?!" Leshawna yelled in frustration.
"Yup," Chris chuckled though he finally turned the airhorn off, allowing the campers to relax, but not for long because the mischievous grin on his face let them know that he was up to no good. "So . . . you're probably wondering what I'm up to, aren't you?"
"I think we all know that," muttered Noah, unamused.
Chris just chuckled again. "Today's challenge will see how much trust you have in each other. And I mean BIG trust! And by BIG, I mean that if you fail . . ." He lowered his eyebrows and grinned wide. "You may not survive these challenges!"
The air was filled with gaps and most of the campers shuddered.
"Well that settles it. WE'RE GONNA DO IT!" laughed Chris. "Now first things first . . . Since the Anacondas are a member behind, I'm gonna need one volunteer to perform TWO rounds! Choose yourselves! I don't care as long-"
"OH! OH! MEEEEEE!" Sierra squealed before any of the other Anacondas could react. Courtney responded to this by doing a facepalm.
"Okay then . . ." muttered Chris. "In Round 1, it'll be Sierra and Courtney VS Brick and Duncan! The challenge: Bungee Puzzle!"
Sierra clapped her hands happily, Brick nodded in determination and Duncan and Courtney exchanged competitive glances.
Confession Cam:
"Is it just me or is Chris trying to pair me and Duncan against each other with every chance he gets?" Courtney scowled.

Duncan laughed. "Yup! I know what's gonna happen next!" He cleared his throat and spoke in a high-pitched voice that sounded almost exactly like Courtney. "Oh Duncan! WHY did I EVER break up with you?" He paused. "Yeah, why did she dump me again?"
X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X
Gwen was sobbing hard on the toilet seat.
Back to the Island:
Duncan and Courtney were being strapped into their harnesses while Sierra and Brick were handed bungee ropes.
"Here's the drill," explained Chris. "Sierra and Brick will be in charge of making sure that Duncan and Courtney DON'T fall about a thousand feet while trying to solve their jigsaw puzzle in mid air! What's the picture, I hear you ask? Simple! It's my sexy face!"
Courtney rolled her eyes at this.
"Yeah, I knew you'd like it," Chris teased.
A Few Minutes Later . . .
All four contestants were now strapped in and ready to rock.
"You sure I can rely on you?" Courtney frowned at Sierra who was holding the rope in a giggly manner.
"Oh don't worry, Cody. I would NEVER let you get hurt!" she smiled.
Courtney froze. "Did you just say Cody?"
"You sure I can trust you?" Duncan asked Brick in a warning tone.
Brick nodded and performed a salute. "Don't worry soldier. Trust is one of the main courses we go through in bootcamp! I've got you covered."
"Alrighty then . . . soldier," muttered Duncan, unimpressed.
"Alrighty then, campers!" laughed Chris. "Sierra and Brick, take your positions on the platforms behind me!" He pointed behind him to the two platforms, a red one with a bison on it and a yellow one with an anaconda on it.
Sierra squealed happily and jumped onto the yellow platform closely followed by Brick who stepped onto the red one, looking very confident. Smirking slightly, Chris pointed to the two trapdoors in front of him that had the exact same design: one was red with a bison on it and the other was yellow with an anaconda on it.
"Duncan . . . Courtney . . . I think you know what to do," he sniggered.
"I know what I'm gonna do if Duncan even THINKS about kissing me," sneered Courtney, making Duncan grin as the two of them stepped onto the trapdoors.
Chris sighed happily and pressed a button. Before anyone could react, the trapdoors gave way and Duncan and Courtney were sent falling down at a rapid pace and Brick and Sierra had to react quickly to stop them from painful impact with the ground. Both of them squeezed the rope tight which stopped the fall but Brick was taken aback by Duncan's weight.
"OW!" Courtney yelped as she was jerked around in mid air. "Chris, what WERE you thinking?!"
"What's wrong? Never done this before?" teased Duncan.
Courtney ignored him and looked around her only to see ten different puzzle pieces strapped in midair: five of them red and five of them yellow. She then looked down and noticed two platforms that were furthur down but still pretty high up.
Without a moment's hesitation, Courtney grabbed a puzzle piece and ripped it from the teather. "SIERRA! LOWER ME DOWN!"
"Okay, Cody!" Sierra beamed, doing so.
"AND STOP CALLING ME CODY! DO I LOOK LIKE CODY TO YOU?" Courtney yelled as she was lowered down.
Sierra didn't reply, just continued to lower her down.
Seeing this, Duncan grabbed a piece. "Hey, Brickhouse! You lowering me down or what?"
"Soldier, if I were you I'd grab two pieces at one time! It'll increase our chances of winning!" Brick suggeted.
"AH DA DA DA!" Chris interrupted. "Duncan and Courtney can only take one piece at a time! If they don't, they're instantly disqualified! Just to add to the tension!" he chuckled.
"Of COURSE he has to make up that rule!" Courtney snapped, throwing her piece onto her platform in frustration. "Sierra, pull me up! NOOOOW!"
She watched as Duncan dropped his piece and was immediately hauled up by Brick. "What's taking so long?" she yelled, realizing that Sierra hadn't pulled her up yet.
Sierra shook her head. "I'm sorry, Cody. I just can't do that."
Courtney looked up in horror and disgust. "First of all, I'm NOT Cody! Secondly, WHY can't you pull me up?"
"Don't be silly Cody," laughed Sierra. "I can't do that! What if I dropped the rope?" Her face dropped. "I'M NOT PULLING YOU UP! AND I'M NOT LETTING GO!"
Courtney looked like she wanted to beat the living daylights out of the nearest person to her. Knowing that Sierra was not going to help, she grabbed her bungee rope and started hauling herself up.
Meanwhile, Duncan had already grabbed and lowered his second piece and was now being lifted up for his third. However Brick was already getting tired from having to lift up his weight. Very tired.
"Duncan, as soon as we're finished this, I'm going to show you the diet of a soldier!" he panted.
"How about some green jelly? That would suit me PERFECTLY!" Duncan teased, making Courtney squirm.
"You're not going to make me quit Duncan!" she yelled, grabbing a jigsaw piece, forgetting to hold onto the bungee rope . . .
"AHHHHHHH!" Courtney screamed as she found herself falling downwards as a massive pace. "SIERRA, DO SOMETHING!"
"I gotcha, Cody!" Sierra squealed, holding onto the rope. But she was holding onto the rope so tight, it began to burn her hands.
"OW! OW! OWWWW!" she screamed. "NOW I KNOW WHY YOU'RE SO HOT, CODY!"
"I'M NOT CODY!" Courtney screeched. "HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY THAT TO YOUR STUPID FACE?"
Sierra frowned and absent-mindedly dropped the rope. "Well why didn't you SAY so?" she muttered as Courtney smashed through her jigsaw puzzle and continued to fall towards the ground.
"So does this mean we win?" asked Brick, looking hopeful.
Chris smirked and shook his head. "Nope! Brick and Duncan have to complete their puzzle or else NO ONE wins the point!"
Brick glared at him in horror. "That's not a fair deal!"
"Meh. I'm mean like that," Chris smirked.
The soldier lowered his eyebrows and stomped up to Chris, his fingers spread out in frustration. "Chris, if you were in my bootcamp, you'd be-"
"WUAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"
Brick looked down at his hands, realising that he had forgotten completely about Duncan. "Oh crap!"
SMASH!
"Well it looks like no one wins this round!" Chris laughed as Duncan smashed through his jigsaw puzzle . . . and on top of Courtney.
Confession Cam:
"Duncan, if you're listening to this, I am only gonna say this once," said Courtney. "STOP FALLING FOR ME!" She lowered her eyebrows. "Also if we don't win this challenge, Sierra's going down." She stuck her nose in the air and folded her arms. "Unless if she can make the most of her second chance!"
Back to the Island:
"It's time for Round 2 of the Who Can You Really Trust Challenge!" Chris grinned. "In this round, it's Mike and Zoey for the Bison VS Scott and Bridgette for the Anacondas! I like to call this round: Spin round to watch the Fireworks!"
Zoe gave Mike a warning look, making Mike shift uncomfortably while Scott and Bridgette exchanged death glares.
Confession Cam:
"Why has Zoey suddenly gotten so uptight around me?" asked Mike, confused. He then froze. "It's not Mal, is it? But I defeated him!" He froze. "I hope . . ."
X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X
"This challenge will be sure to prove who's really in control of Mike's mind," said Zoey. "I really hope I can trust him."
Back to the Island:
An intern appeared, carrying what seemed to be a two huge round dartboards . . . that was spinning around like a wheel. It also had a seatbelt attatched to it. Another intern appeared, carrying darts . . . that were lighting like firecrackers.
"Here's how it works!" explained Chris. "One member will be strapped onto a dartboard! The other has to throw the firecracker darts onto the board- WITHOUT hitting their teammate! And do it quickly! There's a reason why I had them designed like firecrackers! Bonus fear factor for THIS!"
He pointed at the intern who was holding the dartboards who nodded and began spinning them around at a rapid pace making Mike, Zoey, Scott and Bridgette cringe.
"So on the dartboard will be Zoey and Scott!" said Chris. "And throwing the darts will be Mike and Bridgette! Take your positions!"
Confession Cam:
"As much as I'd LOVE to throw those darts in Scott's eye, I can't," said Bridgette. "He's already suspicious enough of me trying to get Dawn and B together. I need to prove that I can be trusted as a team member."
X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X
Scott snorted. "As IF I'd trust that surfer girl! I KNOW she's up to no good! She's plotting against me! As soon as I get the oppurtunity, I'm kicking her off!"
Back to the Island:
Scott and Zoey were being strapped onto the dartboard while Mike and Bridgette prepared themselves to throw the darts that were sparking furiously.
"Just like any normal darts games, there are certain areas that give you certain points!" said Chris. "Whoever gets the most points wins! And . . . GO!"
The interns began to spin the dartboards around. Zoey let out a yelp and Scott scrunched up his eyes, getting dizzy already.
"Mike and Bridgette, I'd advise you to throw those darts as quickly as possible!" grinned Chris. "They'll go off with a BANG if you're not quick enough!"
Mike and Bridgette cringed and without a moment's hesitation threw their first darts. Mike's dart hit right next to Zoe's pigtail and Bridgette's dart landed dangerously close to Scott's crotch.
"WUAAAA! YOU TRYING TO DISFIGURE ME?!" Scott yelled.
"I freaked out!" Bridgette replied. "Anyway, you should be glad, I didn't hit them!"
Scott's eyes widened even though he was still spinning. "I bet you wanted to hit them! I know what's going on in that surfer girl mind of yours!"
"Can't you just question me AFTER the challenge?" cried Bridgette, throwing another one of her darts. It narrowly avoided hitting Scott's armpit, making him scream again.
Chris burst out laughing at this.
"Well it looks like the tension's rising as both teams are in a spin!" he grinned, stepping into the middle of the commotion. "Will more fireworks be set off? Will either of our teams win a challenge? Who will be blasted? And can Sierra protect someone that ISN'T Cody?"
He steppd forward and grinned his usual host smile "Find out right here on Total Drama Spotlight!"
Yeah and I'm gonna leave it right there . . . gotta love the cliffeys :P
Other reasons for doing this include trying to keep this up to date and a bad case of Writer's Block D'X
But seriously guys, I'm really low on ideas here. I said it before and I'll say it again- IDEAS ARE MORE THAN WELCOME!
Also, I'll be sticking with the Blast of Shame as a transport method home- I MADE IT UP FIRST, PAHKITEW ISLAND!
See ya! ;)
