Dipper
"Yesterday was the weirdest day ever. Period," Wendy yawned, still in an early morning stupor.
"I know," was all I could think to say. What else was there to say?
"I still can't believe it's all real, when I first woke up I thought it was some wacked up dream I had, but I guess it wasn't, unless we all had the same dream and now we're all having the same serious hallucinations," she snorted.
I smiled in amusement.
"I know," I said again, parroting myself. "That Bill has brothers and Mabel, Stan, and I are demons..."
She stared blankly at me, blinking. I could smell her hair from here. Strange and irrelevant thought? Yes, but it's true.
"What?" she finally managed.
Oh yeah. Mabel and I were the only ones who found out. Guess it was time to break the news to Wendy! This should be fun...
"Mabel - Mabel and I are demons, sorta like the Ciphers, but we're less powerful and we die," I summarized, wincing at her possible reaction.
Which was nothing I expected. She shrugged calmly and nodded, trying to fathom just what I meant.
"So is that where that Deer chick came from? Some sort of demonic power?" she smirked. "I guess I just thought that since yesterday was so crazy, you two having a long-lost triplet or whatever was nothing."
"Yeah. She can clone herself and I can switch bodies with people. Good times," I muttered. "And apparently Stan's practically in charge of luck."
Silence seemed to stretch forever after the last comment, but it felt peaceful and refreshing.
"Man. That's so cool. I wish I could do stuff like that. All I'm good at is fishing and felling trees," she remorsed. "It's weird how demons are supposed to be these psychotic, evil things when the only four I've talked to are really nice, excluding Stan. But it's not like he's a chaos-bent murderer or anything. He's okay."
"Yeah." Man, I suck at conversation this morning!
"Pine-Dipper! Get over here!" a voice called out from another room. There were only four people who called me Pine Tree, and only two of them would be beckoning me for any reason. This voice was much too low-pitched for one of the options, which meant Stanley wanted to see me for who-knows-what.
"Screw him! That's the second conversation partner he stole from me!" Wendy cursed quietly.
Ignoring her, I stood and made my way towards the room that the voice had sounded like it came from.
I found myself opening a door in another room in this gigantic labyrinth of a library.
Stanley was standing in the center of the dimly lit room with a book in hand. I noticed that Bryan and Blake were oddly quiet and deeply absorbed in whatever volume had sparked their interest.
A glimmer of a mischievous grin sat upon his face, which caused curiosity to tug at the edges of my mind.
"What?" I huffed, sounding more annoyed than I expected.
He said nothing, and the only sounds came from the fluttering of pages turning in Blake and Bryan's attention holder. He raised the book he had been holding, and at first I didn't notice anything unique about its cover, due to the poor lighting.
But when I looked closer, I gasped. What he had held up was a burgundy journal with a gold, six-fingered hand embellished on the front. On the hand was the number 4.
Mabel
"What did my parents get me for my seventh birthday?" I quizzed.
"Pink and white roller skates with purple hearts on the sides," Dierdre responded, correct of course. "You also got a rainbow helmet, and Dipper got blue and red ones with black lightning bolts on the sides, along with a silver helmet."
The two of us erupted into a fit of girlish giggles. We'd been quizzing done another on stuff like that all morning, and I'm pretty sure it was starting to bug some of the others. Oh well!
"Hey peeps," Wendy greeted as she stopped in front of us. "Mabel, Deer."
"Dierdre," I corrected. "Deer-dray."
"Deer's actually kind of a cute nickname!" my clone exclaimed.
"Stan's twin stole Dipper and Bryan from me. I don't really feel like dealing with Soos right now, and besides, he's talkin' to Stan. So mind if I join you?" she asked, but we all knew it wasn't a question.
"Sure!" Deer chirped. I smiled in agreement.
"I wonder what he wants with them..." Wendy murmured.
"Idk," I shrugged. "Guess we'll find out soon enough."
"Yeah," she sighed. "Can I ask you guys something?" she added after a brief pause.
"Ooh!" Deer gasped and clambered closer to Wendy, itching for whatever gossip lay ahead.
"Sure!" I replied.
"Have you ever crushed on two people at once?"
"Yeah! Like in fifth grade, there was Josh Kingsbury, Scott Ball, and Jake Eaton. And then in sixth grade there were these twins named Max and Miles. Dipper had a crush on their older sister, Phoebe. Then this one time, in like, third grade, I liked almost five guys! Let's see. Brandon, Scott, Marc, Aidan..." I was cut off by Wendy.
"'CauseIthinkIlikeDipper," she blurted. "And Bryan. But it's weird for both of them. Dip's younger than me, and Bryan's waaay older than me."
Deer and I stared at her, dumbfounded.
"Wow," Deer said eventually.
"Oh, I have got to tell Dipster about this!" I squealed.
"No!" she snapped.
"Why? He has a crush on you. And I mean like big-time, major crush, not a Valentine-grams-for-everybody crush," I explained.
"Okay." Wendy nodded. I knew she had to at least suspect it. Only a retarded person wouldn't (no offense retarded people!). And I doubt that even then, it would go unnoticed.
As the three of us were so wrapped up in our thoughts about Dipper, none of us payed any attention to him when he appeared behind us, or to what he was carrying.
AN: So... Sup guys. I apologize for taking so long to update. I just haven't been feeling inspiredy enough (and yes, that is a word... As of now...) to write anything good. Also, contrary to a possible belief (idk if anyone believes it, so that's why I said possible, not popular), I do have a life outside of Fanfiction. Life meaning color guard practice and a ton of homework. Whoop. I want to finish this so I can work on my other fics, but I don't want to write this one hastily, but I also don't want to leave it unfinished. I have left so many stories unfinished, that I feel like I owe it to all my finishable (that is also a word now) stories to finish them. Thanks for nominating me and Levitation Rises for GrapplingHook's awards show to all of you that did! Anywho, enough of that. Idk when the next chapter will be posted. Hopefully soon. Okay, now that you got to listen to me rant about completely random and irrelevant things, see ya later! :3
