DGG: Oh my goodness. Ridiculously long breaks are ridiculously long! Also...redundancy is redundant! Anyway, how's it going? It appears I have once again risen from the dead to bring you a new chapter! Woo! Seriously, this chapter was hard. I actually ended up deleting a chapter from the entire story. This new chapter ten is now a combo of two separate chapters (Oddly enough, the original chapter 10 and a part of chapter 12). I seriously couldn't figure out how I wanted this to work. I think I finally got something here that I like, and that I can work with. So...major editing was done. Did all this editing actually take like almost two months? No...but I've been having a hard time anyway, so...eh.

Here you go! Enjoy!

"My godfather is…where?"

A small, eleven-year-old boy with blonde hair, a crisp white tux, and a stereotypical snooty, rich accent raised one of his well-groomed eyebrows at the large fairy standing before him. He must have misheard. What the white-haired male said couldn't have been true.

"He's being held in Abracatraz," Jorgen repeated hotly.

The child furrowed his eyebrows. Apparently he had heard correctly.

"My godfather?"

"Are you going to stand there looking at me like I'm crazy, or do you want to bail him out? Because I have no problem with leaving him there," the muscular fairy huffed.

The boy nodded numbly and Jorgen used his massive wand to transport the two of them to the Fairy prison known as Abracatraz. Once there, Jorgen led the way through the holding room, past many shady looking crooks that sent hisses and glares at the well-off child. Remy gulped down the lump in his throat, thankful that these hoodlums were locked up tightly. Eventually, they passed through a doorway with one lonely holding cell containing one lonely fairy. It was then that Remy finally felt the nerve to step out from behind the larger fairy.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" he mused upon seeing his godfather sitting on the cot in his jail cell, all his former anxieties about being near Fairy World's heinous criminals gone.

"Remy!" he hopped up in surprise. "Wh-what are you doing here?"

"Jorgen brought me here," the boy motioned to the fairy behind him. "So what's this about, Juandissimo? You're a lot of things, but I never considered you a criminal."

"And I am not! I have always been an upstanding citizen!"

"Except for that time you tried to aid Remy in killing Turner's godparents," Jorgen suddenly groused. "Don't forget your punishment for that one, Juandissimo."

"It was not jail time!" the Latino fairy cried in horror before grabbing the steel bars. "Remy, por favor, you must get me out of here!"

"I will if you tell me why you're in here."

"He's in for trespassing," Jorgen spoke impatiently. "Are you going to bail him out or not?"

"Trespassing?" Remy blinked. "Where?"

"Remy, I will tell you all you want to know once we are home. Por favor!" the Latino male begged.

"You promise?"

"Sí, Remy! Just get me out of here! I am too sexy to be in this jail cell!"

"Fine," the child rolled his eyes with a huff. "Here, I'm sure this more than covers it."

He pulled out a massive wad of cash from his coat pocket and handed it to Jorgen.

"Uh…way more than enough," he counted through the bills. "Here."

"Keep it," Remy held up his hand. "I have plenty more where that came from. Come, Juandissimo. I wish to be back in my room. And with a fresh change of clothes. The filth of this place has tarnished my usually crisp appearance."

Jorgen rolled his eyes as he opened the jail cell and gave Juandissimo his wand back, which the raven-haired fairy then used to transport himself and his godchild back to the Buxaplenty mansion in Dimmsdale.

"Much better," the child smirked as his wishes were granted. "So tell me why I woke up this morning and had no fairy godfather, Juandissimo. What exactly possessed you to go trespassing somewhere after I went to bed last night, hm?"

"I…I was upset, Remy. I am sorry," Juandissimo bowed his head in shame.

"You were upset?" the child raised a skeptical eyebrow before suddenly groaning in annoyance. "This doesn't have to do with her, does it? What did you do, go to her house where she promptly called the cops and had you arrested?"

"No, Remy. I did not go to Blonda's home," Juandissimo averted his violet eyes toward the ground.

"Where else would you possibly go?"

The fairy remained silent while gulping down the lump that had formed in his throat.

"Juandissimo," the child snapped his fingers impatiently to get his godfather's attention, "I believe you said you would tell me all I wanted to know. If that wasn't the case, then perhaps you should have worded your sentence better. Now spill it. If you weren't at her house, then where did you go?"

"Cupid's," Juandissimo mumbled sheepishly. He really did wish that he had worded his sentence a little differently while he was begging for his freedom.

"Cupid's?" another groan escaped the boy as he crinkled his nose in disgust. "So this is about her! You wanted to use his powers to get her back, didn't you?"

"Remy, you do not understand. I..."

"Love her?" the child interrupted haughtily. "Yes, as you've told me multiple times. What I don't understand is why."

"Why what?" the Latino fairy frowned at his godson.

"You've broken up again, Juandissimo. Again! And she's always the one to break up with you, so why do you keep going back to someone who constantly hurts you?"

"Remy, it is…it is more than that…"

"And you were expecting Cupid to fix it?"

"No," the fairy answered truthfully.

This caused Remy to raise a skeptical eyebrow.

"You didn't expect him to fix it, yet you went to his house and promptly landed in jail?"

"I did not go to his home to fix this mess, Remy. There will be no fixing it this time. It is over," Juandissimo spoke darkly.

"Oh, please," Remy rolled his emerald eyes while folding his arms across his chest. "You'll probably be back together in another day or two. Don't be so dramatic, Juandissimo."

"I am afraid that this time I am not being overly dramatic. I'm quite serious."

"Come on, Juandissimo!"

"This time it is different, Remy. I broke up with her…"

This caused the young male's eyes to bulge slightly as he stood in shock, his arms dropping limply to his sides.

"You broke it off with her this time? What were you doing, beating her to the punch?"

"No," Juandissimo bowed his head once more.

"You broke up with her, but you still love her? I don't understand," the boy admitted.

"Por favor, Remy, it is complicated."

"And what? You think I'm too daft to understand?"

"Of course not! It is just not something a boy your age should concern yourself with."

"I don't recall a time when you were the one to end things with her. What did she do to you, Juandissimo?" Remy prodded with interest.

"Remy…"

"Juandissimo!"

"You do not need to worry about it!"

"I had to bail you out of jail, Juandissimo! I think I deserve to know the whole reason why!" he folded his arms across his chest again.

"You are prying, Remy," the fairy winced.

"So you really won't tell me?"

"No, Remy. I will not tell you."

"Then it appears you have left me with no choice in the matter," the boy smirked. "I wish you would tell me the truth!"

The fairy grunted in defeat. He always hated that loophole.

"She is pregnant…" Juandissimo whimpered.

This certainly took the human by surprise. He furrowed his eyebrows.

"Pregnant?" he spoke in disbelief. "You…you and her are…are having a baby?"

"No, Remy. You see, fairies cannot have babies anymore…"

"But didn't you say Turner's fairies had a baby?"

"Yes, pero that was a loophole. Jorgen had not gotten around to putting it in Da Rules yet…"

"But wishing for fairies to have babies is against Da Rules now?"

"Sí."

"But if that's the case, then how is your girlfriend having one?"

"Remy, I do not want to talk about this anymore," Juandissimo bowed his head, pain evident on his chiseled features.

"You can either tell me willingly or I'll just wish it out of you. It's really your choice," the boy spoke smugly.

Juandissimo sighed.

"Fairies are protected by magic from having babies with each other. Apparently the Fairy Council's magic does not protect fairies from having babies with non-fairy individuals."

"So your girlfriend is having a baby that is only half-fairy?"

"Yes, Remy…" the fairy whispered as he cast his gaze toward the floor again.

"Whose baby is it, then?"

The buff fairy closed his eyes as if the question actually caused him physical pain. Since Remy saw no signs of his godfather actually speaking, the boy used this time to start piecing things together. Juandissimo broke up with Blonda because she was pregnant with another man's baby. Jaundissimo also went to Cupid's house even though he was not expecting the diapered male to help him win Blonda back. His godfather was then thrown in jail for trespassing.

The boy gasped.

"It's…it's Cupid, isn't it? That's why you went to his home! That's why you wound up in jail!"

Juandissimo remained silent, but the look on his face told Remy that his assumption was correct.

"But I thought that Cupid was a fairy, too. They call him the fairy of love, don't they?"

"They do," nodded Juandissimo. "He does not correct them when they call him that, however."

"I see. So what? Did…did you assault him or something? Is that why you were thrown in jail?" the boy scoffed.

"No, Remy. He was not there. His cherubs were the ones to tell me that he wasn't home and told me that I needed to leave. I told them I would wait, but they saw it fit to call and have me arrested for trespassing instead," Juandissimo explained bitterly.

The blonde raised one of his well-groomed eyebrows.

"Well, then. This certainly seems like history-making news. So what is Fairy World saying about this? Blonda and Cupid are both famous, yes? How's everyone taking it? Excited? Shocked?"

"Fairy World isn't saying anything," Juandissimo informed him. "They are unaware of the situation."

"What?" the boy gawked.

"Blonda does not want anyone to know."

"Really?" Remy mused with an air to his voice that the fairy recognized all-too-well.

"Remy, what are you planning?"

"Hm? Oh, nothing," the boy shook his head. "Just tell me one last thing, Juandissimo. How is it that none of Fairy World knows about this? Blonda's a public figure, so how is it that no one has speculated over this yet?"

"Remy, she has not been seen in public for quite some time. No one has seen her save for me. And for Rip Studwell."

"Why doesn't she want anyone to know?"

"Remy, that is more than one thing…"

"Fine. I wish…"

"Don't!" Juandissimo cut him off. "I will tell you," he sighed. "She is afraid it will ruin her image. Her image means everything to her, Remy."

"I see. Well, then. It's a good thing no one has gotten wind of this little secret yet, isn't it?" the child smirked.

"Remy, I know that tone. You are scheming something," Juandissimo frowned.

"What could I possibly do? I'm here and all the media that would care about this is all the way in Fairy World."

"But you are scheming nonetheless."

"Don't your worry your pretty little head, Juandissimo. You don't want to get any wrinkles, do you?"

The fairy gasped in horror as he poofed in a mirror to check out his features.

"Just go rest awhile. I'm sure spending the night in a jail cell was unpleasant."

"Yes, but Remy, what is it that you are –"

"Honestly, Juandissimo, you worry too much," the boy spoke, a devious glint in his eyes. "What can I do from Earth?"

Back in Fairy World, Cupid had since returned home and was now half-heartedly doing his job, which sent a wave of worry amongst his horde of cherubs. Out of the hundreds upon hundreds of little angels that aided Cupid in his life's work, only a handful of them were his original cherubs from when he first took over the responsibilities of creating love throughout the universe. Those few were even more concerned about their boss' current condition. There had only been one other time they had seen their boss so out of it, and if any of the younger cherubs were around for that time, then they, too, would be much more concerned about the diapered male than they already were.

"Cupid," his oldest cherub, an angel with curly red hair and pure blue eyes, approached him cautiously.

"Hm?" the pink-haired male acknowledged him distantly as he continued firing arrows through his magic portal.

"Sir, is everything all right?"

"Mhm."

"Are you sure?"

"Mhm."

"Sir, you just made that dog fall in love with a tree…"

"Huh?" Cupid shook his head as he gazed through his portal, finding that what his cherub said was true. He sighed, pulling out an anti-love arrow and shooting it at the dog.

"Cupid, what's going on?" the cherub asked. "You took an extra day of vacation. You've never done that before. Never. Now you're home and you're half-heartedly doing your job, if that. What's going on, Sir?"

"Don't worry about that," Cupid went back to shooting his love arrows at a few individuals.

"Sir, you're not letting anyone in to consult with you. All you're doing is shooting arrows through your portal."

"You say that like it's not a part of my job," Cupid put his bow down to give his cherub a look of annoyance.

"I know it is, but so is seeing individuals! Why won't you let anyone in?" the angel prodded.

"I don't feel like it," the diapered male mumbled.

"Since when, Sir?" the cherub cocked his head to the side while placing his hands on his hips.

"Since…now," he shrugged.

"Cupid, this isn't like you. The last time I saw you in a slump like this, it was when Psy…"

"NO!" the god suddenly roared, causing the tiny angel to jump back in surprise. "No! Don't…don't bring her up…"

"Cupid, please," the angel spoke carefully. "You're not acting like yourself. The last time you even remotely acted like this was when…"

"I know when it was!" Cupid snapped. "I said not to bring it up!"

"Sir," the cherub frowned.

"I'll be fine. Take over with the love arrows. I need to clear my head," he handed the cherub his bow and arrows.

"But Sir, you just got back! Where are you going?"

"Out."

"Out where?"

"It doesn't concern you," Cupid took out his wand and poofed away, leaving the cherub alone in the foyer.

The little angel had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. He thought Cupid had gotten over his past. If Cupid caved in due to his feelings again, then they were in trouble.

Cupid sighed as he arrived at his destination: Rome. Returning here always caused his stomach to tighten with bitter resentment. He cast his eyes up toward the famed Mount Vesuvius, snorting in disgust. He was glad he left it behind. He certainly had his reasons. He shook his head to rid himself of those thoughts and, making sure he was invisible just in case any humans may be around, flew toward a deserted part in a wooded area. He remembered this area clearly. He had spent a lot of time here with her, and knew it was where she would want to be buried.

He didn't understand why she was suddenly encompassing all his thoughts. He knew there had to be a reason, otherwise it wouldn't be happening out of the blue like this. Brief thoughts of her had sprung up after Wanda and Poof had come over to invite him to the baby's birthday party, but he wasn't entirely sure why that would have stirred anything up. He'd been around them and the rest of their family plenty of times before and no old memories of his young adulthood had ever just sprang up from the recesses of his mind. So what was the deal now?

Lately, every time Cupid closed his eyes, he saw his love's beautiful face smiling warmly at him. Whenever he fell asleep, he dreamed of their time together. They weren't all the same dreams, but they were all similar. They were always fragmented and would start out with him and her in various blissful situations. He had so many wonderful memories with her that nearly every dream was something different; however, they all ended with his mother letting her arrow fly, causing Cupid to awake with a yelp in a cold sweat.

He shook his head, not truly wanting to relive that moment again; however, this was proving to be difficult as the closer he moved toward her grave, the harder it was for him to keep his emotions in check. All his previous thoughts were replaced with a sense of overwhelming sadness. He didn't like coming here, as it was always a concrete reminder of her demise. However, he came here every so often to visit, of course. He hated to do it, but he knew he'd hate himself even more if he didn't do it. But these past few days, he found himself coming here every night. Even while on his vacation, which proved to be less than rejuvenating.

His breath caught in his throat at the sight of the large stone marker he had placed at the head of her grave many millennia ago. There she was. His last wreath of flowers, which he had slipped around the rock for her, was blowing gently in the breeze. He gulped down the lump in his throat as the plopped down on the ground, placing his left hand on the marker.

"Hello again, my love," he whispered. "I'm back. I just…I'm still so perplexed. Why have you invaded my memories as of late?" the male stopped for a moment, choking back his sobs, "Why? That's what I don't understand. Why now? Why not…why not before? Why not later? Just why? I love you. I always will, but it's just that…so much happened in such a short amount of time. I hold the memories of you in high regard, but if I think about them I get lost in them. It's almost like they torture me.

"Please, my love. Let me know what's wrong. Why are you forcing your way into my head as of late? What have I done? This must be happening for a reason. You have to let me know somehow. Please…" a single tear slid down his left cheek. "I just…I miss you terribly. You stole a piece of my heart, and when you died you took that piece with you, and it left a hole I can't fill. I've learned to cope, but it's times like these that…" he stopped, taking in a sharp breath. "I hate thinking of how I let you down. How I let…" the words suddenly stuck in his throat as he hunched over and wept.
