Chapter 10

Later that day behind a small building; looking at the dwindling line in front of the clinic, the small group was waiting for a chance to sneak in. Saya was gripping Haji's sleeve as she watched intently without moving her eyes away from the window on the second floor. This window lead to the room where Diva, and Ciel were being kept. From the window, there was an unearthly singing that seemed to bring attention to the clinic. As the number of people decreased, the singing began to quiet as well. Soon there was not a soul to be seen, nor a sound to be heard. Saya quietly crept from her place of hiding with Haji and Sebastian, and the infiltration began.

Earlier that day; Saya, Haji, and Sebastian held a meeting over a large roasted chicken at the Phantomhive manor. Needless to say, it had been cooked for Saya who had been starving until she heard the news about Ciel's predicament. She had only eaten half of the chicken throughout the entire meeting, and her lack of appetite was quite mystifying after her feats during her earlier visit to the manor.

"They will be expecting us to come at some point..." said Saya with a serious expression on her face. She looked up at Sebasatian as if to encourage leaving as early as possible. He quickly shook his head, and explained the danger of causing trouble during the day. Haji nodded understandingly, and placed his hand on Saya's shoulder in agreement.

"It would be advised to infiltrate when nobody is there, to encourage less casualties." Sebastian said as he put his hand to his chin. He seemed to have a plan, but was unsure of how it would work. Then he seemed to realize something. Clapping his hand together, he quickly gave some orders to May Rin, and she ran off somewhere outside the manor.

On the roof of a building that looked over the slums; Mey Rin was standing in wait with around 50 rifles, all loaded with 10 rounds each. With this, she had enough rounds to last about an hour; just enough time to keep anything at a 500 meter radius away from the clinic while the infiltration plan proceeded. Warning shots were to be fired at any human-like individuals unless they seemed to transform in some way. As Mey Rin watched the surrounding area with her site, she noticed the line in front of the targeted building was dwindling. She readied herself for action, and waited for any suspicious movements.

Down near the clinic, the doors were about to be closed. While the doctor was cleaning up, he heard a knock on the door. It did not sound serious, but he hurried to open it anyway. When he opened the door, and sword suddenly came at his forehead. It stopped just close enough to his forehead, that he had to pull his head back to keep from being pierced.

"Where is Diva." said Saya, as she slowly walked closer to the entrance. Her face was full of rage, and the doctor looked horrified. He slowly put his hands up, and smiled nervously while backing away. Sebastian quickly held Saya's sword down, and smiled sweetly.

"It wouldn't do, if we scared him too much." He said in a quiet voice, and then quickly turned towards the doctor with a look of expectation. The doctor nodded quickly, and hesitantly lead the three upstairs to the bedrooms. As they entered the bedroom, Saya's face went from shock to horror. On the bed, Diva was holding Ciel like a teddy bear. He was passed out, and seemed like he had a serious fever. Diva was smiling innocently, like she had found the perfect delicacy to share with her dear sister.

Earlier that day, after Mey Rin was sent off by Sebastian. Saya was still worried about what was going to happen. She was gripping Haji's sleeve so tightly that her knuckles had turned white. She had stopped eating the chicken all together, and was nervously looking around the room. Sebasatian was still contemplating what to do, and Haji was simply standing by Saya's side as she sat in front of the table.

"Ciel is probably already dead..." said Saya in a mournful voice. She was now looking at the ground, and clenching her skirt with her other hand. Sebastian turned to her immediately after she said this, and quickly removed his glove with a smirk.

"Not to worry, if he was in any immediate danger. I would know." he said, as he showed her the sign of the Faustian contract. Saya simply looked at it with a blank expression; clearly in need of an explanation. Then she turned to Haji, and waited for him to explain this whole thing to her.

"That mark is a sign that someone has made a contract with a devil." he said camly. Saya slowly turned to Sebastian with a shocked expression on her face. He looked at her quizzically, and then put his glove back on. He had thought that she would know about demons; after all she herself had to have made a contract with one. Or else what could Haji possible be? After thinking this, he went back to planning.
