Chapter 10: Old Places
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters of the Viewfinder series, I'm just here using those awesome characters in a story. Story is inspired by the book Runaway by Wendelin van Draanen.
Akihito woke up in the arms of the man that he loved. He adored being in Asami's arms, warm, comfortable, safe. It was his new home, the second one he actually felt welcome in. He smiled and snuggled deeper into the tight embrace.
"Hello to you too Kitten."
Akihito opened his eyes to find that Asami was already awake and watching him as he supposedly slept.
Akihito smiled, closing his eyes and resting his head back down on Asami's chest. "Hey. Why aren't you sleeping?"
Asami raised an eyebrow, "I felt something poke my side. Apparently it was you," he explained.
Akihito laughed. He gave Asami's chest a good slap before climbing on top of him. Akihito had a smirk on his face, one he knew Asami couldn't resist. He started to slowly grind his hips down, feeling Asami's prize under the thin boxers. Asami immediately grabbed his hips to push Akihito down even harder.
"Oh, come on. You…. like having me here," Akihito sighed out, feeling the pleasure start to build up as he continued to move. It's been awhile since he and Asami had some alone time. Though he hated to admit it, he missed the older man's touches. He smiled even harder when Asami flipped them over to have Akihito on his back with himself on top. Akihito loved giving up a moment of control. Or rather, make Asami believe he was giving up control then he would come back with a witty comeback. What could he say, he was still that street brat from years ago. The only difference is that he no longer denied his feelings for Asami...though it'll still take a bit of time before he would say them out loud.
"Asami…" He moaned out as the man began to suck on his neck, slowly palming his growing erection. He closed his eyes and allowed for Asami to take him into that sweet bliss of pleasure.
Once finished with the pleasurable morning, it was time for the two to actually start the day. Akihito showered first, putting on sweats and a loose t-shirt. He didn't have to work today so he had no need to put in effort into his looks. While Asami was preparing himself Akihito was busy preparing the two of them some breakfast. He made both coffee and tea, knowing the yakuza would choose whichever he was in the mood for. Done with that, mixed those two, that finished frying, and now to plate everything. Akihito just finished plating everything when Asami walked into the kitchen. Akihito was a bit surprised to see the man in only a pair of boxers, a white towel wrapped around his neck that was most likely used to dry his hair.
"Don't you have work today?" questioned the younger, raising an eyebrow at his lover while serving him a plate of food.
Asami made his way around the island, making himself a cup of coffee and his lover a cup of tea. Akihito never liked wasting things, so he would usually take the opposite that Asami made. He slid the hot cup towards Akihito and went to sit down by the plate prepared for him. "I have personal business I plan to get through today. Kirishima has been notified of the change of schedule."
"Personal business?" Akihito repeated, looking up from his own plate of food.
Asami hummed, taking a sip of his coffee before replying, "You will accompany me later today. Once you are done eating I suggest you change into something you'd like others to see you in."
Akihito blew a breath of air, "What's wrong with what I'm wearing now?" he muttered.
"If you are comfortable walking in a shirt three times your size, be my guest. It allows for a much easier time trying to get it off," came the cheeky reply, along with that infuriating smirk Akihito hated and loved at the same time.
"Pervert…" came the predictable reply, along with a small blush staining his boy's cheeks. It only made Asami smirk more.
The two stepped out of the limo. Asami heard Akihito gasp, probably from finally being able to see where exactly their destination was.
"Do you know of this place Akihito?" Asami asked, as if he didn't know the history his lover had with this park.
"*Shinjuku Gyoen. How could I forget?" Akihito whispered, beginning to walk almost in a trance through the entrance. The entrance fees were quickly paid for, though the worker wouldn't have argued with Asami if he had forgotten. He would like to live another few years, thank you very much.
Asami, along with his two most trusted guards, silently followed behind the photographer. Akihito walked slowly though the historic park, taking in all the old and new details, mentally comparing them to his childhood. He walked through the many different gardens, taking time to snap a picture or two of the blooming flowers. He passed the green house, where he stared at the building for a good moment before busting out laughing. Asami stared at him so he began to explain the memory of his adolescent self having to hide in the green house for a good few hours after he made fun of one of the patrol people. Once finished, Akihito continued on along the paved trails, snapping picture after picture of anything he found beautiful. An older couple holding hands on a bench, children running in circles around a tree, families having picnics, the few animals he saw around, and finally the ever growing cherry blossom trees that were beginning to regrow its flowers. He would have to ask Asami to bring him back once they were in full bloom. Akihito finally decided to stop and sit under one particularly large tree. He sat under the cool shade, Asami joining him with Kirishima and Suoh standing on the sides.
Akihito took a moment to stare up at the tree. He remembered the grass, the way it cooled down his body after a long day of searching for common necessities. He stared up at the leaves that often provided a hiding spot when certain people became to nosy of his presence, those same leaves providing better shelter than his own mother could give him. He touched the rough bark, the same material he can still feel scraping his back every time he tried to turn for a more comfortable position. This same tree was what he considered home for the beginning of his new life away from those monsters. He shook his head and began to distract himself by taking more pictures.
"You seem to know this place well," stated Asami once Akihito was done taking pictures of the tree from below.
Akihito hummed, looking through the pictures he had taken so far. "I know this place like the back of my hand! I basically grew up here." Literally, he added in his mind. He was not mentally ready to revisit his past memories as a child, let alone share them with Asami just yet. His records were covered, making it seem like he had left with permission at around 15 years old. That, however, is a more complicated story he has yet to tell his lover once the time is right.
Asami nodded, taking the answer for the moment. Akihito still had no idea he had his old journals. He could just ask Kirishima to dig up a bit deeper than before, to find out how his boy covered his past, but why would he do that when he can just read the notebooks and find out? There was something about reading first-hand what his lover had to endure that made him reluctant to ask. He wanted to be the only one to truly understand Akihito for who he is. So, with great effort, he decided to play the unknown and find out at his own pace. He was sure Akihito would thank him for it later.
"Why did you decide to bring me here?" the boy asked suspiciously. Had Asami found out about his past?
Asami reached out to grab his lover, placing him down so he was sitting in the older man's lap. "You have mentioned before that my work is stressful and that I would make an attempt to relax. What better way than to have a nice stroll in a calming environment with my pet kitten?"
"Damn it old man I'm not your goddamn pet!"
Asami chuckled, placing his head in Akihito's soft hair.
Akihito huffed out a breath, but still decided to relax back into the warm embrace. The two stayed like that until it was time to head back home.

*Shinjuku Gyoen is a national park in Shinjuku and Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. It is a park, with large garden like areas and a greenhouse. Sorry for any wrong descriptions about it, I have never visited and based my words on reviews about the park.
Can't say if I'm officially going to start writing again. But I have to admit, it felt good to write again. No promises if there will be another update soon. Possibly. Maybe. I'll see what the response to this chapter is. Hopefully its good. Hope you enjoy it.
