David had no idea how he had done it but he had shot Whale's heart. Regina was holding it so the bullet had touched her hand making her bleed, but you could see that she didn't care. Whale was dead and would never hurt Ruby again. The minute he walked into the basement and saw the older woman holding the heart in her hand, he knew he had to be the one to kill the bastard.

"Are you okay?" Ruby asked as she ripped a piece of her shirt and wrapped it around Regina's hand. "Does it hurt?"
"Wolf, I am supposed to be taking care of you."
"You can control me in bed but not right now."

Regina kissed Ruby passionately as she spoke. She had been so afraid to lose her wolf. Finally, there was someone who loved her despite her past and she couldn't lose that. The thought of Whale hurting her again, made her sick to her stomach. But the nightmare was over and the monster was gone. No one would ever hurt Ruby again.

"Marry me."
"What?! Are you serious, Regina?"
"I've never been so serious in my life. I cannot lose you and the thought of not having you kills me. I love you, Ruby Lucas, and I want you to be my wife."
"Yes! I love you too and all I want is to be your wife."
"Ladies," David smiled, "I do not want to interrupt your happiness but you both need to go to the hospital and I need to get the dead body out of here."

David got an ambulance to drive both women to the hospital while he dealt with Whale's body. Regina's hand was stitched up and she spent the rest of her time by Ruby's side. The younger woman needed ten stitches on her leg and fifteen on her head. Doctors decided to keep her in for the night to make sure she didn't have a concussion.

"Oh my, Ruby!" Granny walked into the hospital bedroom the next morning.
"Sh sh. Keep it down, Gina is sleeping." She motioned towards the Mayor sleeping on the couch.
"How are you? How are you feeling? Are you in pain?"
"Granny, I'm fine and in just a little pain. Don't worry."
"Don't worry?!" Regina bounced in her sleep and Granny lowered her voice. "How do you expect me not to worry when there's a crazy man out there trying to hurt you?"
"Not anymore."
"What do you mean?"
"David killed him." She looked over at Regina. "She ripped his heart out but before she did anything, David shot the heart."
"So he is gone?"
"He is. He can't hurt me."

Granny took Ruby's hand in hers and that's when she felt the ring. She looked at it and realized that was Regina's ring. What was going on? Why was her granddaughter wearing the Mayor's ring? What had she missed?

"Ruby, what does this mean?" She pointed at the ring. "Isn't this Regina's ring?"
"Oh, yes." The wolf smiled as wide as she could. "Regina proposed to me last night and I said yes."
"Oh my God! Ruby that is amazing!"
"I know, I am so happy!"
"You wolves have no idea how to keep it down, do you?" Regina said as she sat up on the couch. "Your voices are as loud as your bodies are hot."
"Sorry." Ruby flashed her an innocent smile that made her heart skip a beat. "I was sharing the news with Granny."
"Congratulations, Regina, you did great."
"I know I did." She got into Ruby's bed being careful not to hurt her. "I got the best girl in town."
"Well, I will leave you two alone. Do not hesitate to call me if you need anything."
"Thank you, Granny. We will."

Regina moved closer to Ruby wanting to feel her body heat. There was nothing better than her wolf's heat against her body. She wanted Ruby. She wanted to feel Ruby. Regina knew she couldn't wait to get home to taste the wolf. She had to have her now.

"I want you." She used her magic to lock the door.
"Right here? Right now?"
"Yes," Regina placed soft kisses against her neck, "I cannot wait until we get home."
Ruby wasn't going to lie, she wanted Regina. "Then what are you waiting for?"
"I will make sure you are comfortable." The older woman whispered in her ear.

And with that, Regina worked her way under the sheets as she pulled Ruby's panties down. She kissed up Ruby's thigh while caressing her legs; careful not to touch her stitches. She slowly slid her tongue in Ruby, making circles on her clit. The younger woman couldn't help herself and started moaning Regina's name with every touch of her tongue. Regina definitely knew how to please her. Using her tongue as fast as she could licking every inch until Ruby came.

"That…that was amazing!"
"I am pretty good at what I do."
"You are!"
"First time doing it on a hospital bed."
"Mine too, my queen."

A week later, Regina found herself staring at her reflection on the mirror, like she had done many times before except this time it was different. White wasn't her color but it was right for the occasion. After Daniel's death, she never pictured herself being in love again. And after her horrible marriage to King Leopold, she never thought she would have another wedding. But there she was, years later, about to marry the most amazing person she had ever met. Ruby Lucas was minutes away from becoming her wife.

"You look absolutely beautiful."
"Who would have thought Prince Charming would ever say those words to me?"
"Well, I cannot lie."
"Thank you, dear."
"Are you ready?"
"I think I am." She smiled nervously. "I am a bit nervous."
"That's normal, but don't you worry, there won't be any Queens walking in and apologizing for being late." He winked.
Regina laughed and weirdly found herself thanking David's friendship. "Thank you, I needed that."
"That's what friends are for."
"I will regret saying this but… I am glad I have a friend like you to share this day with."
"Regina, things have changed and we are all happy to get along. We are a big family."
"That means more than you will ever know."
He kissed her cheek. "Come on now, your bride is waiting."

Meanwhile, in the other room Ruby was getting ready. She couldn't believe how much her life had changed in the last few months. From being in an abusive relationship, she went to falling in love with the Evil Queen. Never had she imagined she would end up marrying Regina. But now she couldn't picture her life without the Mayor in it. For the first time in months, Ruby could feel things were finally working out for the best. She was going to marry the woman of her dreams in front of all her friends, her beautiful big family.

"Are you ready, wolfy?"
"Yes, Granny, I am ready."
"I am really proud of you, Ruby. You were able to overcome a horrible situation and came out of it stronger."
"I did it because I have great people in my life."
"Oh come on! You did it because you found Regina."
"Yes, she was a big part of my recovery. Regina made me stronger."
"I am so grateful you found her. God knows what would have happened, if she hadn't been worried about you. I thank the stars she decided to get involved."
"Me too, Granny, me too. If it hadn't been for her, I would probably be dead by now."
"But you aren't. Come on, let's get you married."

That afternoon, in front of their family and friends, Regina and Ruby, swore eternal love. They said yes to a lifetime together and promised to take care of each other. After the last couple of months, no one doubted Regina when she promised to take care of Ruby's life until the day she died.

"From this day on, I choose you, my beloved Regina, to be my wife. To live with you and laugh with you; to stand by your side and sleep in your arms; to be joy to your heart and food to your soul; to bring out the best in you always and, for you, to be the most that I can. I promise to laugh with you in good times, to struggle with you in bad; to solace you when you are downhearted; to wipe your tears with my hands; to comfort you with my body; to mirror you with my soul; to share with you all my riches and honors; to play with you as much as I can until we grow old; and, still loving each other sweetly and gladly, our lives shall come to an end."
"I, Regina, take you, Ruby, to be my friend, my lover, the mother of my children and my wife. I will be yours in times of plenty and in times of want, in times of sickness and in times of health, in times of joy and in times of sorrow, in times of failure and in times of triumph. I promise to cherish and respect you, to care and protect you, to comfort and encourage you, and stay with you, for all eternity."

Three months later.

"You are starting to show." Regina kissed her wife's small baby bump. "And you are glowing."
"It's our baby that makes me glow."
"Our baby."
"You know, I was shocked when you said you took me to be the mother of your children. I didn't know you wanted that."
"I've always wanted more kids; I just hadn't found the right person. But then you came along."

Two weeks after the wedding, they started talking about having a baby. They got every single test done and found out Regina wasn't able to have babies. That's when they decided Ruby would carry their child. Going through the sperm donors options, they found a man that sounded perfect. And a week later, Ruby was pregnant. Everyone was excited for them because they had seen how both of them were helping each other get over their past. It seemed Ruby and Regina had been made for each other.

"Do you have any baby names in mind?"
"Yes!" Ruby exclaimed excited. "If it's a girl we should name her Madeleine and if it's a boy we can name him Andrew. What do you think?"
"I think those names are perfect."
"You are perfect and I love you with all my heart."
"I love you too, beautiful Ruby."

Regina had tears in her eyes by the time she had finished writing their story on her notebook. It had been six years since the doctor had walked out of the OR to tell her, her wife had died giving birth to their daughter. One minute she was holding Ruby's hand and the next doctors were getting her out of the room because her wife had collapsed.

It was not supposed to be like that. Ruby was supposed to be there to raise their daughter. They were supposed to be a family. But she had left her just like Daniel had done and Regina didn't want to fall in love again. Every single night she lay down on her cold bed wishing she could feel the wolf's body heat one last time. To kiss her. To tell her how much she truly loved her. But she couldn't do any of that. The only reason she got out of bed every morning was because she had two wonderful kids to take care of her.

"Mommy!" Madeleine screamed from the living room. "Henry and I made a pillow fort, come play with us!"
"Oh my. This is amazing." Regina said as she sat down next to them. "I love it."
"We have all of Ruby's favorite food." Henry squeezed her hand. "And Mad made drawings for her."
"Mama would have loved that."
"I love mama, mommy."
"And she loves you, wolfy."

As hard as it was to live life without Ruby, Regina would always have a reminder of the love they once shared. Their daughter. A wonderful little girl who's body heat was as hot as her mama's and with every single full moon she would transform into a beautiful little brown wolf.

Thank you so much to all of you who have been reading this story. I truly enjoyed writing and can only hope you enjoyed reading it. Thank you!
