CHAPTER 10: Sunshine and Daisies

Tris POV

"I…I…." I stammered. I didn't know how to react. I didn't know what to do. It didn't cross my mind to go and hide behind the sofa or in the closet. Instead, I just stood there, unmoving while he looks me up and down. But he didn't scrunch up his nose, which is a good sign; a sign that I don't smell. Or maybe I do, but not that bad.

His eyes stare into mine. I bet my hair is wild. I bet my strawberry shortcake pyjamas looks weird. I bet I have drool down my chin… wait what? I quickly wiped my chin to see if I did drool. Then I heard him chuckle.

"What?" I asked grouchily. He had the nerve to smirk at me. I scowled at him. He didn't even call to give me time to make myself look representable and he's being all sunshine and daisies. "You look…good," he tries. "Ha ha your attempt at complimenting me unfortunately failed," I rolled my eyes. "May I?" he motioned inside the house. Well, no. I prefer if you stay outside.

I nodded inside and he gave me a grateful smile. That was when the sunlight blinded my eyes and I hissed involuntarily. "yeah it was kind of hot outside and I'm sweating like crazy," he commented. I made a face. Ew, he's all sticky and walking around in my house.

"Do make yourself at home," I said politely before dashing up the stairs. Locking myself in my bathroom, I let out the breath I've been holding. Why would I care how messy I look like with him? I studied myself in the mirror and felt myself redden. If I looked just like I do now, I would bury myself alive. I have… this is, so darn embarrassing! Someone kill me now.

I groaned and moved to turn on the shower. It was then that I notice I didn't bring in my change of clothes. Great, I hate getting out of the toilet with just a towel on. But it's too late to go outside and bring them in, so I just proceeded with the shower.

I wet my face and opened the door to exit to my room. I froze as I stepped out of the bathroom. Lying on my bed is none other than Four.

"What do you think you're doing?" I asked, my breathing becoming uneven. I tightened my towel around my body. He turned his head to look at me. I noticed the red creeping onto his face. Here I am, standing in nothing but a towel, and him all red-faced on my bed.

He swallowed and closed his eyes. "Half an hour ago you told me to 'make myself at home' and I just did," he calmly said. "Yeah but this is my room," I pointed out. "But I'm comfortable in it," he replied as he switched the channels on tv.

"Get out," I ordered. He stayed there, not even moving a cm. "I need to change," I sighed. "Then do it in the bathroom," he shrugged. By now I was fuming. But I couldn't argue with him with no clothes on so I grabbed my t-shirt and shorts and stomped back into the bathroom.

A few minutes later, after I was clothed and my hair was wrapped up in a towel, I went into my room and blocked his view of the tv with my arms crossed. He simply looked at me and smiled. "Don't give me that look," I said annoyed.

"I'm not doing anything," he chuckled. "Aren't you going to ask me to move?" I asked after I stood there for like 5 minutes. "Why should I? Watching you is better than the things they have on tv right now," he winked. "And besides, even if I ask you to, I doubt you would," he yawned and rolled to his right.

Oh the nerve of this guy.

Four POV

I felt her stare. It doesn't make me uneasy, but I kind of enjoyed it. Except for the fact that she's kind of staring daggers at the back of my head. "Are you just gonna stand there admiring me or what?" I turned to look at her. She blushed a deep red before turning so her back was facing me.

"No, I was thinking of a topic to talk about," she lied smoothly. Hah, as if. I smirked as I noticed the slight tremor in her voice. Oh God she's actually a bit nervous. I think that's a good sign. I slowly got up from the bed and moved towards her.

I stood behind her and leaned in. "You okay Tris?" I whispered. She jumped half a foot in the air before turning to slap me on the back.

"I'm okay, Jesus," she rolled her eyes before walking stiffly downstairs. I love this thing I have over her. Chuckling, I went down after her.

"Hey hey Tris!" I called into the kitchen. She was rummaging through the pantry. "What?" she asked.

"I haven't eaten anything yet."

"Cool," she answered still looking for something.

"The whole day…" I continued.

"Okay," she answered.

"I'm hungry," I finally said.

"Go out and eat."

I groaned. How can she do this to me?

"I will," I sighed and got up from my seat.

"Sit down. Geez, what do you think I'm searching for? I'm trying to find something easy to cook for both you and me," she rolled her eyes.

That got my attention. Aw she does care.

"Alright chef, don't take too long or I might have to turn into a cannibal…."

"Shut up Four."

We ended up ordering pizza. Because everything Natalie bought is 'too complex for Tris to cook'. Girls nowadays don't know how to cook, and I remember there was a time where it was necessary if they want to marry. What has the world come to?

The whole time we were together, we had small talks. She hasn't taken me to a deeper conversation and neither have I. I'm not sure she's ready to hear what I have to say, or what she was and maybe still is.

But I was really curious if she thinks this thing we're having is going anywhere. And I'm waiting for the right time to ask her and then I'll make my decision.
