I know. I'm way late with this chapter ;n;

A lot of stuff has been going on lately, like school is coming to a close so there's a lot of homework and work for final exams, and my computer keeps overheating so I have to limit my time spent on it and stuff like that ._.

This chapter is going to basically be the aftermath of their get together the day before and a while after in their school days. Here you go~

Rin POV

Thud. Oh dear lord, not again.

I lay on the floor for a few seconds and here a small giggle coming from the left side of the couch.

"Shut up," I hiss quietly, my eyes still closed as I lay flat on the floor. I hear Luka get up and maneuver into the kitchen and I roll onto my back, accidently bumping someone's foot.

I look up to the owner of said foot and see Len sleeping like a baby. I smile tiredly and close my eyes for a few minutes. I hear Luka tip-toeing back into the room and she starts kicking my side.

"What?" I whisper, my eyes still closed.

"You have like, no breakfast foods anywhere in this damn house," She grumbles quietly.

"There's cereal,"

"I don't know what you're talking about; Flax doesn't count as cereal in my book, it's basically pencil shavings,"

"Ew, do I only have that left?" I sit up and open my eyes and she nods, "Why do I even have Flax, what the hell…"

I stand up slowly and stretch, glancing over at Len once or twice before trudging into the kitchen with Luka in tow. I scan all the places where there could be any traces of breakfast foods, but sadly I'm left empty handed.

"Well, I guess we have no other choice than to go out for breakfast," I murmur and I see her jumping excitedly.

"Oooh! Hooray, can I pick the place this time?" She asks with a large smile.

"No," I deadpan and her smile turns into a frown.

"Why not?"

"You picked last time!" I point out.

"So? That was like three months ago!" She pouts.

"I say we let sleeping beauty pick where we go," I gesture to the living room where Len is still sleeping soundly.

"Of course you'd let the little princess pick," She grumbles.

"Whatever, he's a 'new' guest so he gets to pick," I cross my arms over my chest.

"Fine…" She sighs in defeat, "Should we wake him up now?"

"Sure," I reply and for a short second we stare at each other, and then a mischievous grin spreads onto both of our faces.

We both creep into the living room and stand over where Len is sleeping. With a nod to each other, I place a small fake spider on his hand and move it ever so slightly so that it tickles his skin. Luka and I tip-toe into cover and peek around the corner to see Len slowly waking up.

"Yeek!" He squeals and shakes the spider off of his hand, and frowns when we start snickering, "Was that really necessary?"

"Yes," We say in unison and he pinches the bridge of his nose.

"Why can't you people just wake me up normally…" He trails off and brings his hand down to his side and looks over at the clock, "I should probably get going."

"Not yet, we're going out to get breakfast and you get to choose," I cross my arms over my chest and he scratches his head, "Don't pick anywhere too expensive."

"Uh, McDonald's I guess. That's the only cheap place I can think of that serves breakfast," He says rubbing the back of his neck.

"Alright, let's skidaddle then!" Luka announces and marches towards the door and swings it open.

Ah, finally the fourth quarter is upon us and I am more than relieved. The past few months haven't been all that crappy; Len and I have become better friends, we've had more get togethers than you can count, and my parents are both being promoted.

One thing that sort of has me down is that Len is dating again, not that he hadn't been during the time we just started being friends, but now he's been picking up and dropping more girls than I've seen in a while.

"Rin?" Len's voice and the snapping of his fingers in front of my face breaks my daze.

"Huh?" I ask, shaking my head slightly and trying to refocus.

"You've been staring at the piano for the past 3 minutes, you okay?" He sounds concerned.

"Oh, yeah, I'm fine," I utter, "Just thinking…"

"Do you wanna talk about it?" I turn to him with a questioning look and he stutters, "I-It's just that you looked a little distressed."

"No, it's nothing important," I say and set my hands on the keys, but draw a blank on what I want to play, "Got any requests?"

"Hmmm, I'm in the mood for something cheerful today, maybe a little jazzy," He says softly. I chuckle to myself and say:

"I know just the song then," I set my fingers on the keys and start playing one of my personal favorites, "Chattanooga Choo Choo." My fingers glide over the keys, playing the arrangement I wrote.

Not long after I finish, I look over to Len and he seems disgruntled.

"What's the matter? You look constipated," I say bluntly.

"Nothing…and gross," He makes a face and then stands from where he was sitting, "That song just sounds so familiar."

"You've probably heard it before; it is an old song you know, used in countless movies," I state in a matter-of-factly tone, "Any other requests?"

"Yeah, something slow and relaxing," He says.

"Okay…I have a song, but I gotta sing with it so you better not laugh," I grumble and laughs.

"Okay, I promise I won't laugh," He states and I slowly start playing the beginning to "I Know Why." My fingers flow across the keys and I take a breath before I start singing.

"Why do robins sing in December?

Long before the springtime is due?

And even though it's snowing, violets are growing,

I know why and so do you,

Why do breezes sigh every evening?

Whispering your name as they do?

And why have I the feeling stars are on my ceiling?

I know why and so do you,

When you smile at me, I hear gypsy violins,

When you dance with me,

I'm in heaven when the music begins,"

I stop singing to play the little arrangement in between the stanzas.

"I can see the sun when it's raining

Hiding every cloud from my view

And why do I see rainbows when you're in my arms?

I know why and so do you,"

I quiet myself again to play the relaxing melody once again.

"And why do I see rainbows when you're in my arms?

I know why and so do you, I know why and so do you,"

I finish singing the song slowly and softly with my eyes closed, half in relaxation and half in embarrassment. I take my hands off of the piano and place them in my lap and open my eyes once again.

"Oh my god Rin, I'm actually tearing up," I hear Len behind me, his voice wavering slightly, "Your voice is like pure gold!"

"Thanks," I look at my hands, feeling a load of heat rush to my face, "It's not anything special."

"No, Rin, you have the most amazing voice I've ever heard before," Len marvels, "How did you manage to do that with your voice?"

"Do what?" I question, very confusedly.

"You made your voice sound just like one out of an old movie,"

"I guess I just kind of mimicked the movie I heard it from…" I say in a small voice and then remember something; the song is originally a duet.

"What's that face for?" He inquires, because apparently I made a face.

"It's nothing…it's just that the song is a duet," I look down at my hands again.

"Oh really, now?" A small smirk crawls its way onto Len's face, "I feel tempted to learn the male part now."

"Do you even sing?"

"Duh. How else would I charm the ladies?" He grins and I smack his arm.

"Why do you want to learn this duet though?"

"If it means I'd get to sing it with an amazing singer, I'd sing it any day," I stare at him blankly, "By the amazing singer, I meant you."

I feel another wave of heat flush over my face; I think that's one of the first really big compliments I've gotten from him. He looks at my face and chuckles.

"You know, you look cute when you're flustered like that," As he says this, the bell rings and completely shits all over our moment. God dammit. He slings his bag over his shoulder and puts on a grin and says, "See you tomorrow Rinny."

And here I am; standing in the middle of the music room, my face like a tomato.

*gasps for air*

FINALLY. THIS CHAPTER IS FINALLY FINISHED.

Ohoho, Lenny is starting to get a little flirty isn't he ;3 He'll be pampering Rin from time to time, just so you know :P

I don't own any of the songs mentioned in this chapter, "Chattanooga Choo Choo" was written by Glenn Miller and "I Know Why" was written by Harry Warren. Oh! And the movie Rin mentions she heard "I Know Why" from is Sun Valley Serenade. I just recently watched it and I highly recommend it to those who enjoy a black and white (musical-ish) movie.

Again, I'm really sorry for being so late with this chapter and I'm sorry that it's kind of short (I couldn't think of anything else for this chapter).

I'm also not going to make any false promises like "It'll be up early next week!" because in truth it probably won't.

Wish me luck with my final exams, and I'll see you lovelies afterwards~!

Mochi BE GONE! *snaps fingers, smoke appears and I disappear*
