Zack and Cody Martin were bickering about a prank that Zack had played on Cody's girlfriend, Bailey. "Zack, today really? Of all days you could have done something like this you choose today!" Cody yelled frustrated. " I was planning on it happening yesterday, but she didn't trigger it until today! How was I supposed to know that she wouldn't leave her house until today?" Zack protested. "You could have done it the day after today or better yet not at all." Cody said calmer now that he had gained control over his anger. Zack had put a bucket of water over her door resulting into when she opened it the water would spill all over her. Well, she just happened to be in her Reaping dress and is also scared of water, neither were to Zack's knowledge. Ms. Pickett was now dripping wet in her house with Maya, Zack's girlfriend, and London Tipton, Bailey's best friend, trying to comfort her. She refused to leave her house and Cody was worried that she was going to miss the Reaping and who knows what the Peacekeepers will do to her if they find out that she skipped. "Again, how was I supposed to know that she would trigger it today?" Zack whined. "Well, you could have bothered to learn that she is afraid of water you idiot!" Cody said letting his temper flare again. "Excuse me if I didn't care about her weird phobias. She's not my girlfriend she's yours, so why are you over here trying to scold me when you should be with Maya and London trying to get her calm down." Zack said. Cody was at a loss for words, for once Zack was right no matter how much Cody didn't want to admit it. "Your right," Cody admitted as he made his way to the door and over Bailey's house.
When Cody entered the room he saw his girlfriend shaking and sobbing with Maya's arms around her and London pacing back and forth with her thinking face on. Maya whispered to Bailey, "I told you he would come," London stopped pacing and clapped her hands. "Yay me! I was right!" Maya rolled her eyes and said, "No London, I was right, you said he wouldn't come." "London!" Cody exclaimed in surprised that his friend whom he'd known for years would doubt him. "Guys it doesn't matter who was right," Bailey squeaked in between sobs. Cody made his way over to the love of his life and put his arm around her shoulder. He grabbed her hand and started rubbing soothing circles on her palm with his thumb. Maya wrapped a blanket around the shivering girl and offered her some tea. Maya's mother was a healer and she had inherited her interest in helping people, she was learning from her mom and one of the major things about being a healer is calming down the patient. Bailey accepted her offer clutching her blanket close and leaning into Cody's warm chest. "Bailey, should I wear pink lip gloss or red lip gloss," London asked as she was admiring herself and making sure that she looked perfect for the Reaping. "Pink," Bailey replied her voice muffled because her face was buried in Cody's sweater. "Red it is!" London squealed. "London, she said pink," Cody corrected. "I know," London replied smiling.
Maya re-entered the room carrying a wooden tray with a mug, a teapot, a milk container, and a sugar bowl. She set the tray on the coffee table in front of the blubbering blonde. "Milk?" Maya's soothing voice asked tentatively. "Yes, please," She squeaked. After adding the milk Maya moved her hand over to the sugar bowl and was about to ask whether she wanted any when she heard Bailey answer, "Two, please." She did as she was told and presented Bailey with her tea. She mumbled a quick thank you and began sipping her beverage.
At the Justice Building stood Mayor Tipton, Mrs. Tipton, London, Anita, David, and Marion Moseby. Marion was dressed in a bright pink, glittery suit, with matching dress shies and tie, his dress shirt was a shiny blue and his bald head was covered in sapphire gems. He tapped the microphone before starting the traditional spiel before the Reaping and playing the same video. Then things started to get interesting, when Moseby announced that ladies would be going first, he stuck his hand in the bowl and read from the slip that he pulled out, "London Tipton!" London stepped away from her father's side and strutted towards Moseby's side. Marion, Mr. Tipton, Mrs. Tipton, Zack, Cody, Bailey, Woody, Maya and. Marcus all looked about ready to cry. The ditzy girl, whom they'd known for years, was going into the Hunger Games. That's when the havoc from the 74th Hunger Games unearthed itself. It all started with the same two fingered salute that the lower districts had adopted for tributes that they would miss. Luckily, since their had not been any disturbances in district 10 even when the districts were starting uprises, no one got shot, unlike how it would have been had they been in district 11 or 12. Marion Moseby picked from the bowl once more and picked none other than Zachary Martin, Cody started to cry hysterically and scream the occasional 'Not my brother'. Overall, district 10 had the most well-liked tributes than anyone in Panem, but this was only the beginning.
A/N: It's been awhile. So much for getting back into writing. Haha, no? Sorry! I promise that I will try to update faster, it's just getting so boring to write. You know what, I think. I will just have the last two Reapings in the next chapter then we can get to the meetings with family and friends and train rides and all that good stuff! Okay? Bye!
