"I wonder what kind of club I should join..."
"There aren't any good ones... even the book club is bad!" Levy whined making Lucy groan along with her as the two bookworms sat in the lobby whining about what clubs they should join. "I'm just going to go volunteer at the school library... what do you think, Lu?" The blunette asked making her blonde best friend shrug and sigh.
"Whatever seems fine for you. I bet it'll be fun, I just have to hurry and find one before they all close their entry!"
Staring at her best friend for a while, Levy seemed to look like she got a great idea.
"Oh, I know what you could join, Lu!"
"What?! Really?!"
"You should find out what sport Natsu is doing and manage that team!"
"What?!" The blonde merely screeched making heads turn. "Are you crazy?!"
"Lu, it's something easy and you can see Natsu all day."
"I do see him everyday... if you forgot, we live under the same roof, Levy." Lucy stated as she sighed and crossed her over her chest. "And managing his sport team? Isn't that a bit... I don't know... weird? What if he asks why I did it? He'll probably think it's because I want to be around him or something."
"But isn't that what you want to do? After all you do have a crush on—"
"I do not!" She practically screamed as Levy hushed her friend. "I just... I'm fond of him, alright?"
Rolling her eyes at her friend's response, Levy decided to ignore her as she whipped out her novel. "Whatever you say Lu, but I think you should manage his team if you're looking for something to do."
"I will never do that..."

Walking right into the athletic department and poking her head in the room, the blonde tried to look for the lacrosse head coach. But as soon as she popped her head inside, she was greeted with multiple sweaty large men who looked either too old to be a coach at the school or too young to be at the school. And the attention she was receiving made a shiver run down her spine.
"H—hello?" Lucy squeaked making one of them approach her. "Erm... I was... uh, I was looking for the head lacrosse coach?"
"That'll be Gonzales," he spoke as some of the men behind him groaned out. "hey! Gonzales! You've got someone here for you!"
"T—thank you," she murmured as the one she was talking to left and another man approached her.
He had little scruff of hair on his almost bald head and he was a large man about the height five eight. He looked friendly enough for her to approach as he offered her a warm smile.
"What can I do for you?"
"Erm... you coach lacrosse... right?"
"Yes, I do."
"By any chance..." Lucy trailed off as she swallowed thickly. "do you have any room for a manager?"
"Of course we do! Are you interested?"
"Yes, I am."
"Great!" He cried out as he put a hand on her shoulder. "Welcome to the team! If you could just give me your email and I will send you the schedule and everything then we'll be fine."
"Of course," Lucy murmured as she grabbed a pen and a piece of paper from her bag. She scribbled her information on it before handing it back to the coach who grinned widely towards her.
"Thank you..."
"Lucy, my name is Lucy Heartfillia."
"Thank you, Lucy. I hope we have a great season together!"
And with that, Lucy was left alone to think about why in the world she even agreed to manage.
—X—
Sitting in her room that night, the blonde was silently and happily reading her novel until she heard the stomping of heavy footsteps and her door slamming open. It scared her greatly and she squealed in fear as the novel she held flew out of her hands and hit the ground with a thud. She turned to look at who it was but didn't have a chance when a finger was pointed right at her, her eyes growing crossed-eyed.
"What do you think you're doing and managing lacrosse?"
"How'd you—"
"Gonzales told us that we got a new manager today and said her name was Lucy."
"So?" The blonde slapped the finger away from her face. "There isn't only one Lucy in the entire world, y'know."
"Yeah well, I only know one Lucy who's blonde and is a freshman in college and has a last name that starts with a letter H so tell me," the rosy-haired jock practically hissed. "why are you managing lacrosse?"
"Why does it concern you, anyways?"
"Because it's my team!"
"And?!"
"And..." Natsu trailed off as he looked like he was struggling to say something. "And... because..."
"Because what, Natsu?"
"Because... because they're all going to talk about you." He muttered under his breath making Lucy furrow her brows and lean in.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing!" He snapped as he cleared his throat. "Just... you better not wear anything revealing or such or I'm going to fire you!" He shouted before he stomped out of her room in a bashful manner leaving her sitting there in a confused state.
She tried to process what he said in her mind but she couldn't get it no matter how hard she thought about it so she left it alone for now.
Dressed in something warm since it was still early in the morning and the weather was growing colder by day, the blonde went to school to start her first day of managing and to meet the boys. To put it straight, she was kind of nervous to. What if they didn't like her? What if they're all assholes like Natsu but worse? What if the job is even more tiring than she thinks it's going to be? And what was Natsu talking about last night anyways?
All these questions popped up in her mind and she didn't realize she was walking right towards the boys until she heard a shout of ball! which snapped her out of her mind.
She looked up and her eyes widened in size as she saw a round rubber ball coming right towards her at full speed.
She guarded herself for the impact but with a quick thrust of a stick, the ball fell into the small net stopping it from hitting the blonde.
"Hey airhead, watch where you're going." A gruff voice said through his helmet and mouth guard making the blonde throw the stranger a dirty look. "I just saved your life. You owe me," he said before walking away from the gawking blonde.
Now, everyone was looking her way but all she could do was stare at the rude number twenty-six who jogged back down the field.
"I'm sorry, miss, are you lost?"
"Huh?" Lucy uttered stupidly as she turned around to meet a player. "Oh... uhm... no, I'm not, actually. I'm... I'm the new manager."
And with that simple statement, the boys started to surround her and murmur in awe about how pretty she was and how cool it was to have such a hot manager.
Just then, the coach came out and blew the whistle making the boys quickly scatter away and go back to practicing as he approached the blonde as well. He had a slight scowl on his face but playful attitude as he approached.
"Why, I didn't actually think you're were going to show up!"
Giving the coach a sheepish smile, he laughed out loud.
"Don't mind the boys. You know how idiotic they could be at times," he waved them off earning a slight giggle from her. "now that you're here, this is what I need from you." He handed her a piece of paper which showed her what to do and what they needed. Most of them were about making sure their water was filled up and filing. "Here is the binder that's full of their paper work and the roaster is inside as well so mark off who has what and who doesn't. Sounds easy enough?"
Nodding in agreement, Lucy took the thick binder from the coach before he walked away and left her alone to start working on filing.
Meanwhile, all the way in back was a group of boys tossing couple of balls around as they stared at the blonde who went over towards a bench to start her work. They sighed and cooed lovingly as they admired the beauty.
"She's beautiful... my god, look at her."
"It's my first time seeing such a pretty girl at Magnolia."
"Because Mags is for the ugly bookworms."
"I bet she's a party girl."
"Do you think she'll hook up with me if I ask?"
"I bet she would. Want to make a bet who'll get into her pants—ow! What the fuck?" Turning around to see who threw the rubber ball at his back, the male shot the other player a dirty look. "Natsu, what the fuck are you doing?!"
"Shut up and pay attention or else you're going to make everyone run because you can't keep your dick in your pants." He snapped as he scooped the ball back into his stick before walking away.
It left the two males scowling at the rosy-haired male but they went back to practicing regardless.
And with that simple action, Natsu was forced to approach the blonde and scowl at her from behind.
"This is your fault," he hissed out making her turn around from her spot on the bench to look at the player. "I told you that I'll fire you if you wear some inappropriate."
"Uh..." She muttered, slightly confused. "Who are you?"
Yanking his helmet off to show off his vibrant pink hair, Lucy's eyes widen as she realized that it was Natsu.
"Now because of you, the entire lacrosse team can't concentrate and just are thinking about ways to get into your pants!"
Blushing slightly, the blonde gawked at the male.
"So cover up or leave."
"What's wrong with my outfit?!"
"I don't know, let me ask your cleavage," Natsu poked the top of her chest making her flush and slap his hand away. "or maybe should I ask your ass in leggings because I really dig the pink thong, Lucy."
"Alright! Alright! I get it so shut up!" Lucy screeched in embarrassment as the rosy-haired male huffed in annoyance and planted his hand on his hip. "But... I don't want to leave and make coach upset. I still have a bunch of things to file."
"Then do you have something to put on top?"
"No... I didn't bring anything but this."
Letting out another frustrated sigh, the lacrosse player rubbed his temple before he looked up at the blonde again. "Come with me," he commanded as he turned around and walked towards where all the boys dropped their bags off. He went to one of them which she assumed was his as he dug through it till he pulled out a sweater and threw it right at her.
She barely caught it as the sleeve slapped her in the face.
"Wear that and if I see you without it, I swear you're going to get it." He threatened as he put his helmet back on and went back to his group.
He left the speechless blonde standing there in surprise as she stared at the sweater in her arms that she remembered the male wearing it a lot during school. It was one of his favorite sweatshirts and she was utterly surprised that he gave her such a prize possession.
Without anymore ill thoughts, Lucy quickly put the sweatshirt on and instant warm filled her as the smell of Natsu and cologne overpowered the smell of her, now.
It made her insides feel all warm and fuzzy that she felt the blush rush up her neck and to her cheek.
The sweatshirt was twice her size making it run down all the way to her thighs, the sleeves giving off a good two inches off her palms.
She felt like she was in a dress and she felt like Natsu's girlfriend as she heard all the murmurs coming from the boys.
"Isn't that Dragneel's?"
"What? Why is she wearing it? Are they going out or something?"
And it somehow made her feel good inside.
—X—
When it was towards the two hour mark of practice, the coach finally decided to end practice with a bit of running. As Lucy was standing there right next to the coach watching the entire thing, her eyes never left number twenty-six who she found out was Natsu, the rude male who called her an airhead earlier. But she expected that from him but what she didn't expect was Natsu to be the fastest runner there.
Watching the rosy-haired jock sprint back and forth made her go star struck.
"Dragneel is fast, ain't he?" The coach said snapping her out of her thoughts. "That's why he's one of my best players."
"I knew Natsu was a good player but I didn't think he was this fast..."
"How do you know Natsu, by the way? I noticed you're wearing his sweatshirt, too." He pointed out making her blush slightly. "Maybe you two are—?"
"N—no!" Lucy squeaked as she shook her head and waved her hands in the air. "We're just... close friends and he gave me this because I might be cold."
Nodding at her words, the coach blew his whistle to let the next set of runners go as Lucy handed water bottle to the players as they came up to her. When she ran out of water bottles, she went over to grab some more from the carton. She bent down and grabbed the green water bottles but froze when she saw a pair of feet in front of the carton of water making her eyes trail up and her eyes lock with a certain pair of hazel ones.
She recognized them immediately as Yukino as she stood up and blinked in surprise.
"You're..."
"Ah, the one from last time!" Yukino said as she clasped her hands together. "Are you a manager, too?"
"Yes... I'm a manager—wait, what?" Lucy cried out slightly. "Too? Don't tell me you're—"
"Ah! Yukino! You're here!" The coach cried out in joy making Lucy turn around and face Gonzales as he approached the two with a smile on his lips. "Lucy, I must introduce you to the other manager! This is Yukino! Yukino, this is Lucy."
Unable to utter any words, Lucy just stood there in pure shock as the two smiled at her in the most innocent way ever.
To think she took this job to get involved and be around Natsu a lot more... she ended up making a big, big mistake.
"Natsu! You're so amazing at this! You're my hero!"
She was going to give Levy a piece of her mind.
