Summary: These were the worst Christmas ever.
Christmas in their apartment wasn't what it was in most households. Here, Christmas was seen as a chance to disconnect from the outside world and spend time with their loved ones. It was the one day of the year in which you could count on Black*Star being quiet and on Kid to not be frantic; the one day that they got to spend as a whole, as the family they were. It was a day to stay on pjs and lounge around the house, also a day to pig out as much as they could.
Only that there was something completely wrong with Christmas Day this year… Something was awfully wrong.
He groaned and rubbed the bridge of his noise in annoyance as he looked around the room, and the more he looked the more his annoyance grew. He growled and shut his eyes tight, hoping that this was all a bad dream, hoping that this was a nightmare fabricated by the Devil Imp that inhabited within him but once he opened his eyes he found out he wasn't dreaming, much to his dismay.
He looked down to his lap to see Maka reading her book and cozy enough, not complaining about the cold that came from the window that Black*Star had half opened a little bit earlier that day; his eyes wandering down to see the soft and fluffy fabric that covered her body and came to one simple deduction: She looked ridiculous, meaning that he must also look ridiculous.
Whose idea had it been again to do this? Oh yeah, damn Patty. Damn her and the moment she brought her overzealous self through the door of their apartment with gifts for everyone. He should've known better than to expect anything other than these stupid animal kirugumis. He eyed himself and found himself grimacing at the sight of the soft, brown felt that covered most of his body and his head and only one question came to mind: Since when was he being seen as the bear of this group? And most importantly, why?
"How come I get the bear and you get a lion?" He asked as Maka giggled and rested the book on her chest, looking up at him.
"You're cuddly?" She added and he rolled his eyes, looking away indignantly.
It was official… These were the worst Christmas he'd spent with his newfound family and he couldn't wait until they all left so that he could carry on his plan of burning these god awful things and pretend these past four hours never happened.
