I don't own Soul Eater.

Franken woke up at ten o'clock. He didn't wake up because something had grabbed him from under the bed or something went bump in the night. He woke up because one of the other students, who was wearing an owl mask, was shaking him.

"Sorry about this, but this is kind of a ritual that Vick's kids go through," the owl boy whispered, praying that he didn't wake up Erick. He held up a handkerchief.

Franken allowed himself to be blindfolded. After all, he still would be able to sense souls. The owl boy led him though the dorms. He only stopped once, and the owl masked boy left Franken alone in the hallway. There was a loud yell, followed by angry yells of who were woken up, followed by the even angrier yells of who they hadwoken up until is passed throughout the building.

The owl boy came back out followed by two familiar souls. "Guten Morgen Spirit and Arthur. Spirit did you have another panic attack?"

"No!"

Rope was tied around his wrist and he assumed it was tied to the others' wrists as well. He felt Spirit stiffen as the owl boy got to him.

"I'm not going to tie them that tight," the owl boy told him.

"Right. Just move on before I freak out," Spirit hissed.

"It will be easier if you hold hands," the boy told them when he was done, almost apologetically. Spirit took Franken's and squeezed it. Mutter would squeeze my shoulders whenever someone was being mean to me…

"Okay, let's go," the owl boy said pulling one of the others, which pulled Franken forward.

Joe pulled off his mask and led the three younger boys out of the building. Arthur looked happy and Franken looked unconcerned. Spirit looked ready to start panicking. His jaw was clenched and his lips were pressed together so hard that they were white. I hope this goes well…

Being in a bar at 11 o'clock on a school night was never a good idea. Her head slumped on her hands so her face wouldn't get bar-stick on it. Besides, she wasn't drinking. She was only looking for a fight, and the most dirty, disgusting bar in Death City was the perfect place.

Out of the corner of her eye she was someone sit down next to her, which according to bar etiquette meant he wanted to get into her pants and/or panties.

Victoria turned her head slightly to glare at the man to make sure he knew that he wasn't welcome here and she saw messy ink black hair and a slightly lighter colored fedora.

"Hello," he said to her. His voice was very deep. "May I buy you a drink?"

She gave him a quick scan. A handsome face, red eyes, expensive suit. What one earth was he doing in a place like this?

"I don't drink." She turned her head away from the fancy man.

"Then why are you in a bar?"

Victoria straightened her torso and shrugged. "I'm looking for a fight."

"Oh." For a moment she though he was staring at her chest, but instead she realized that he was watching her hair.

She jammed her hat on top of her head and started to leave. Victoria was painfully aware of him following her, but she didn't say anything for at least two blocks. Then she punched him.

"What do you want?" Victoria asked as he went down.

He touched his bleeding lip. "That wasn't necessary. I only want to get to know you better."

"And by that you mean you want to have sex."

Half of his face went red and the other half went white. He started to shake his head. "No! I saw you the other day and I thought you were interesting. I only want to ask if you want to get an ice cream with me sometime."

Victoria crossed her arms. "I don't even know your name. And you don't even know my name."

He stood up and held out a pale hand. "My name is Laurence Shirei."

Victoria took his hand, her double green eyes staring him through. "Victoria Cornwell."

He smiled. "There, know that we know each other would you like to get an ice cream?"

"No." She turned and walked away.

"But-"

"No!"

Victoria left Laurence standing on the street, staring after her.

Hecate awoke in the dark, and instantly her soul perception went haywire. She was sitting in a room with eight other people: Spirit, Kami, Peggy, Arthur, Marie, Azusa, Franken … and the French chick whose name she didn't know.

"Anyone awake?" Azusa's dry voice asked.

"Yes," Franken's equally dry voice answered.

"Yep," Kami growled.

"Someone's gonna pay for this," Peggy threatened.

"I'm alright," Marie said.

"I'm kinda freaking out," Spirit gasped.

"I'm fine," Arthur said in a smiley voice.

"Ditto," Hecate laughed.

"Me also." There was a pause.

"Who was that?" Arthur asked.

"I think it's the French girl who never talks," Kami answered.

"My name is Cécile Berton, meister. Does anyone have anything to cut the ropes?" Another pause.

"I got a athamé," Hecate said.

"I have a scalpel," Franken added.

"I can transform my arm," Spirit said, a bit out of breath.

Using her ceremonial knife Hecate cut her bonds and got her blindfold off in time to see Spirit and Franken doing the same.

Together they cut the other six out. "Told ya that the athamé was a good thing to bring to bed," Hecate teased as she cut Kami loose.

They were in an old fashioned room with a fireplace and a desk. A knife collection hung behind the desk. The students were sitting in a circle, and at the center there was a table with a letter addressed to Spirit.

Spirit walked to the table, tripping slightly on his too long worn out sweatpants.

"What's it say?" Arthur asked as he and the others walked to the table.

Spirit scowled. "We have to stay the night in order to be fully excepted in Victoria's group."

"That doesn't sound too hard," Hecate said.

"I thought that we we're already apart of her group," Kami growled.

Spirit paused and looked around. All the girls except Azusa and Hecate were wearing nightgowns. Cécile was a girl with mocha skin and brown frizzy curls. Just below her hazel eye on her right cheek there was a curved scar several shades deeper than her normal skin tone.

Arthur wasn't wearing a shirt. Only cartoon character pajama pants. His eyes were closed. Franken's nightshirt was too large: it fell off one shoulder and fit him like a dress. His shorts would be shorty-shorts on anyone else. Spirit was wearing ratty sweatpants and the tan bottom up that Kurt gave him.

"It says to stay in this room. It's signed Joe, Sid, and Mira."

Peggy made a sound filled with disgust. "I knew those niggers had something to do with this!"

The paper fell from Spirit hands as he started lunge forward, but Kami cut him off. The two girls rolled along the ground clawing and punching each other.

Cécile walked over to them and trapped both their wrists under her foot. "We need to keep level heads," she murmured, not meeting anyone's eyes.

"She's right," Azusa said. "We must keep vigilant. Why would they lock us in this house?"

"To see how we work together?" suggested Arthur.

Kami crossed her arms. "This is probably just some initiation shit. Just one big joke."

"Why would they do that?" Marie asked.

"To prove ourselves," Franken said.

"Well not all of us can kill a kishin at out fist try," Kami snarled.

Spirit stepped in front of Franken. "And not all of us can be complete bitch to ten years old."

Kami's face it up in rage and Hecate snorted.

Arthur sighed. "We're not a team. We're a time bomb."

Hecate snorted again. "You should like a guy from a superhero movie."

Spirit turned to his friend. "What's wrong with superhero movies?"

"I prefer my heroes without tights and my heroines without triple-d cups."

Behind Spirit Franken tugged on his sleeve. "Spirit what does triple-d cups have to do with heroines? And what are triple-d cup?"

Spirit's face turned a color close to the shade of his hair and he coughed. "I tell you when you're older."

"I hate that answer."

"As do I," Azusa said.

Dong! Dong! Dong!

Everyone jumped and turned towards the grandfather clock in the corner.

Dong! Dong! Dong!

"Six," Azusa counted.

Dong! Dong! Dong!

"Nine," Marie said, uneasiness creeping into her voice.

Dong! Dong! Dong!

"Twelve," Spirit said.

"Midnight," Hecate corrected.

.-*-.

Sid and Nygus sat in the community room of the girls' dorm playing cards. Joe was pacing next to them. None of them could sleep.

"Do you think they'll be alright?" Joe asked the others.

Nygus laid a card down. "They'll be fine."

"But you heard the stories about that place."

"And that's all they are. Stories." Sid countered Nygus card.

Joe stopped pacing and turned to look at them. "We're in Vick's group. We all know that these things have a habit of coming true. I don't want anyone else to die."

Sid and Nygus shifted uncomfortable. "They'll be fine," Nygus reassured him. "They'll look out for each other."

"There are nine of them, nearly triple of what we were that night."

Joe sighed and sat down next to them. "Deal me up."

.-*-.

Spirit eyes drifted around the room. He and Franken were sitting in one of the big arm chairs next to the fire. Arthur was sitting next to them. Kami and Peggy stalked around the room, and every time they met each other's eyes they glared at each other. Azusa was going through the desk, Hecate was searching the bookshelf, and Marie was watching the storm outside. It seemed to be waging war on the house, and thankfully the house was winning.

Hecate pocked a small dark book and walked over to Spirit. "I think I know where we are," she whispered.

"Where?" Spirit asked leaning forward. Franken mimicked Spirit movement from his perch on the arm of the chair.

"A famous haunted house in Massachusetts. According to what I read no one has survived staying the whole night. Of course the last time someone was stupid enough to do that while night was a kid in the 70s. But my question is how moved us from Nevada to Massachusetts in one hour."

"Maybe we didn't," Franken said. "Perhaps we left yesterday."

Spirit shook his head. "That's not important. What else do you know about this place?"

Hecate shrugged. "Just hearsay. Some think that some horrendous deaths happened here, others think it was built on a Native graveyard, or a gateway to hell, or some shit like that."

"Oh joy," Spirit muttered thorough his hands.

"Maybe you guys could talk a bit louder. It would be nice for the rest of us to hear what's going on," Kami spat at them.

Spirit twisted around. Everyone but Arthur was staring at them.

"'A Native American graveyard'?" Marie whispered.

Kami wrapped her arms around her waist. "'A gate to hell'?"

Hecate shrugged. "I don't know anything solid. Besides the fact the no one's ever survived staying in this place overnight."

Azusa crossed her arms. "How do you even know this is the palce?"

Hecate reached into her waistband of her pajama pants and pulled out a book. "This is a book of satanic rituals. I remember from some of crime scene photos. One of the last kids killed was holding this book."

"Do you really think it's safe to hold it then?" Marie asked.

"How did you see the crime photos?" Azusa asked.

Hecate tucked the book back into her waistband. "I've been looking for this book for a while, so when my sources told me about this house I looked into it. I guess it's out good luck."

Kami scowled at her. "Why would you put your soul at risk with that book of hell?"

Hecate patted the book. "Because this isn't an evil book. It's just a book. With satanic rituals in it. Books aren't evil. It's a study of Demonology written by an angel and a demon. It will be perfect for my collection!"

Franken gave her a confused look. "How is a book of satanic rituals not satanic?"

Hecate shrugged. "I don't know, but it's what I wanted it for is the knowledge that it possesses. And that it will be perfect for my collection. And I've always wanted to know how to kill both angels and demons."

Kami charged forward, but back off when she was how close to the book she was. "Why would to kill an angel?"

Hecate tilted her head. "I want to melt down their soul and make it into a tattoo. Also, why wouldn't I?"

Sprit snorted. "Because angels aren't real."

Crack! Lightning flashed outside the house.

"They are too! How dare you insult my faith like this!" Kami roared at them.

Crack!

"Knock it off you two!" Marie ordered.

"We don't have time for this," Azusa added.

Crack!

"Will you two idoits stop?" Peggy yelled.

"Let them continue," Cécile muttered icily.

Crack!

"Spirit!"

Crack! Bang!

"Franken?"

The fire died. Something gripped in Spirit's stomach and he groped forward blindly. "Franken?"

"I'm here," Franken said from behind Spirit.

Crack!

Lightning illuminated the room for a second. People attempted to search for their classmates before the lights went out.

"Everyone gather around the table," Azusa's voice called out.

Spirit walked to where he hoped the center of the room was. His finders met wood and he sat down.

There were footsteps and creaking floorboards as everyone walked towards him. He pulled Franken into his lap.

Crack!

For another second the room was full of light, and Spirit hugged the smaller boy to his chest.

Their faces looked like how his stomach felt. I wonder it that's how my face looks. I'm the eldest, I have to be strong for them. For Franken.

Crack! Bamb!

Marie screamed and Azusa yelled: "Something hit the window!"

Kami ran to the window. Crack! "There's someone outside!"

Spirit dumped Franken onto the floor and he and Hecate ran over stand next to Kami.

"It's too dark," Hecate whispered.

Crack!

For a second there was an adult standing there, staring up at the window. When the second flash came he was gone.

Hecate grabbed Spirit and Kami and pulled them back to the table.

Me tie dough-ty walker.

The voice had a sing-song quality to it, and it was carried in on the storm winds.

"Okay, who was that?" Peggy asked.

Crack!

"Hecate?" Spirit turned to his friend.

The black-and-green haired girl shook her head. "I have no idea. Never read anything like it."

"Lynchee kinchy colly molly dingo dingo," Arthur sang, soft and sad.

"Arthur what the hell?" Hecate asked.

Me tie dough-ty walker

"That sounded closer," Spirit said.

"Lynchee kinchy cplly molly dingo dingo."

"He's callin' it," Peggy accused.

Azusa jumped on him. "We have to stop him!"

Me tie dough-ty walker

"That came from the back yard!" Spirit yelled as he jumped onto Arthur too. Soon only Marie and Franken weren't fighting to stop Arthur from singing.

Spirit pulled back his hand from Arthur's mouth. His hand glistened with blood.

"Lynchee kinchy colly molly dingo dingo!"

Me tie dough-ty walker

"That came from the roof!" Spirit yelled.

"What is that?" Marie asked pulling Franken to her.

Crack!

Marie and Franken watched the other six hold down Arthur. Somehow, even with six against own they were struggling.

Crack!

In the sudden light Franken was sediment falling down the chimney.

He stepped closer to it, while Marie followed, her hands wringing close to her chest.

There was aloud yell and Franken twisted around to see Azusa lying next to the table, blood escaping between her fingers, which were pressed against her forehead.

Crack!

More dirt and rock fell from chimney.

"Something's waiting up there," Franken told Marie.

Her yellow eyes went wide. "What?"

Franken turned to look at the struggling students. "There's only one way to find out…"

Spirit pulled back his hand again. "He bit me again!"

Hecate growled at him. "Stop putting your hand in his goddamn mouth!"

"Lynchee kinchy colly molly dingo dingo!" Arthur yelled.

ME TIE DOUGH-TY WALKER

Something thumped down the chimney. Franken's arms wrapped around Marie's waist and her arms wrapped around his head. She was screaming while he froze.

Almost in slow motion a bloodied head bounced off the burnt logs and landed at their feet. Both of the childrens' arms tightened and Marie stopped screaming.

The head's eyes turned towards them. It opened its mouth-

Crunch!

"Bloody head! Huh?" Spirit bent down to examine what he had just stomped on. "Wood?"

Kami knelt down next to him. "It's a puppet's head."

Franken sat down and reached out a hand into the remains and pulled out a dark blue stone.

"A sapphire?" Kami asked.

Peggy plucked it out of Franken's hand and moved it closer to the embers. "No, a blue diamond."

Kami crossed her arms. "What made you the stone expert?"

"Stop it!" Marie yelled, finding her voice. "All we've done since we've got her was argue! Azusa's hurt, Arthur's crying, Spirit's hand is bleeding and he probably has splinters in his feet! What we need is some sleep!"

Dong!

"One," Cécile counted, helping Azusa to her feet. Beside them Hecate was holding Arthur to her body while he sobbed into her shoulder.

Kami sighed. "She's right. I'll take first watch."

Azusa shook her head. "I'm fine. I'll take first watch."

Bamb! Bamb! Bamb!

"That was the door," Franken whispered as he took the stone from Peggy.

Kami growled. "Fuck this!" She ran to the front door with the others following. She reached open the door she the other eight, except from Arthur, prepared to fight. As the large door swung open they all froze in shock. "Victoria?"

.-*-.

Malcolm smiled as he watched the mirror. "Well, they did fine. Aside from the fighting."

Lord Death nodded. "That will leave with time. But the puppet head and the blue stone are very strange."

Death Scythe nodded. "I think they'll make a good team along with the other three."

"It wasn't there."

Malcolm gave Lord Death a confused look. "What do you mean?"

"The Legend that killed the other children. It's seal broke and it was off killing other children. So far only two have died. Spencer Albert and Franklyn Stone. I've sent Arsenio and Andrew after it."

Malcolm's face fell. "Oh that too ba-… wait… those names sound very similar to-"

"I know."

"Those boys are in deep shi-"

"I know."

Malcolm stayed silent and watched the grim reaper contemplate.

.-*-.

The girl listened to the van drive away. They had taken the head, the stone, and one of the books. Perfect.

The girl looked at the Symbol in front of her. The Symbol that allowed the Legend that was trapped her for some many years wake up and escape. The second one in the many days.

First the Rake, now this. Who's next?

Should I wake any up? It was only fair. Only two people in the world knew the ritual for raising them, and this should wake up all of them.

Her thoughts drifted to the two children who died.

That's my fault. Why did I ever create them in the first place? Because I was board, I think. I don't remember.

Her thoughts drifted again. I wonder what on TV tonight? Or what the ending of the book I'm reading. I was never really good a reading mystery… Know what? Screw it! I'll wake one up, and let the others wake up if provoked. Sounds good to me.

The girl picked herself up and pulled her hood over her face. She smirked. I know who I'm picking.

.-*-.

I didn't put fighting in it. Sorry to all those who want it. And about all the curse words. This turned out to be the swearing chapter.

I love all the fighting all the children do, and just letting their personalities bounce off each other is fun. And I just love Hecate.

At first it was going to be Spirit possessed/calling the thing, but I changed it to Arthur. I'm happy I did.

And I think I introduced all of my main characters! Except for some background characters…

Anyway, favorite thing, least favorite thing, favorite character, favorite scene.

Please read and review!
