Ellis struggled to get out of Nick's grasp. "Nick, could ya slow down a'h-bit?"

Nick tugged on the boy realizing he was trying to break out of his grasp.

"N-Nick! Slow the hell down! They put me'h on pain killer's for a reason!"

The gambler sighed but continued his pace. If those guards caught them now, there was no chance that they were gonna hold them as prisoners anymore.

"Shit." The gambler grumbled as he heard heavy footsteps coming from behind them, he glanced back to see how close they were and for a good look on Coach and Rochelle's condition. Coach was fine - of course, but Rochelle was slowing him down since she was on morphine from recently being tested on.

The gambler clenched his jaw and tugged the southern boy faster.

"NICK! STOP IT! YOU'RE HURTIN' ME GOD DAMN IT!"

The gambler was starting to get annoyed by the constant whines of the boy, so he tugged him hard just to annoy him.

The southerner began to cuss up a storm at Nick's actions.

"How about you quit your whining and let me save your ass?"

Ellis clenched his jaw as he continued to be tugged towards the exit. "No one asked ya'h too!"

The gambler had heard enough. "DIDN'T IT OCCUR TO YOU THAT MAYBE - JUST MAYBE I WANTED TO COME BACK FOR YOU?! IF I DIDN'T I WOULD HAVE LEFT YOUR ASS ON THE STREET AND IT WOULD HAVE SAVED ME ALL OF THIS... ALL OF THIS..."

Ellis snatched his hand out the gambler's grasp. "Saved ya'h what Nick? All this regret?"

Nick became flustered and didn't know what to say. He's hurt the boys feelings before but.. Why was it different this time? Why was it?

Ellis ran past Nick, not only wanting to escape him but the guard's that were becoming to close for comfort.

Nick looked back at Coach and Rochelle and simply shrugged and continued running the path outside to where the boy went.

"ELLIS!" The gambler called out as he saw the boy quickly but sloppily make his way down a hill.

"SHI-" The gambler heard, then a thud from behind him. Coach tripped and managed to bring Ro down with him.

The gambler helped Rochelle up quickly realizing that the guards were now making their way out of the door.

"COACH!" Rochelle yelled at the sight of him being surrounded by the guards.

Coach stumbled up to his feet but was pushed back down by one of the guards. Coach furrowed his eyebrows sadly at Nick and Rochelle realizing what was happening.

Nick grabbed Rochelle's hand and tugged her to the hill that Ellis went down.

"N-NO! What about Coach?!"

The gambler didn't care to reply and simply picked her up throwing her over his shoulder and made his way down the hill as Rochelle kicked and punched him as much as she could, begging him to go back for Coach.

As Nick was half-way down the hill he heard the bullet that ended Coach's life.
