Chapter 10

Percy's POV

Flying is awesome! Percy swooped and dived. He felt the wind brush his feathers and tug at his hair. It didn't beat swimming though. Once Percy had forgotten of his fear of flying learning how to control his movements was a piece of cake. It's like I was born to fly! He smirked at his thoughts.

Max being the lady she was laughed at Percy's clumsiness for the first 3 minutes, but after that she took her job seriously and taught Percy how to soar and change directions with just moving his feathers.

It was funny really, that he had been afraid and in this moment he couldn't remember why. Percy wanted to stay at the tiny island for the rest of his life. Still, something bothered him or to be more exact a who. Something strange had happened when he spoke to Angel. Percy was sure of it. He felt like something was retaining him with the Flock.

Percy didn't duel much on the topic. He was freaking flying! And with more style than that blond superman, Jason. Right now Percy had wings! He. Had. Wings?!

Everything came crashing into him. Annabeth! What would she do? How would she react to the new Percy? Lightning suddenly flashed in front of him. To late Percy noticed he was well over the water.

Good bye neutral territory! Hello certain death! Flapping his wigs Percy narrowly avoided been hit by the next round of lightning. Rain started to pour down making it nearly impossible to see where the next lightning would strike. The son of Poseidon concentrated to keep dry his feathers. He wasn't sure if they were waterproof.

So much for a nice flight. Curse you Zeus! The hairs on Percy's neck stood at an end, he felt the electricity making its way to his exact location. The winged teenager flapped his wings trying to escape. His efforts were in vain, the wind was not coping. It blew wanting to hold the demigod in place.

The lightning fell with precision and Percy felt his body go slack. Nothing more to do he thought. Although before the lightning could hit him it bounced off in another direction and the wind loosened its grip on him.

Not thinking it twice, Percy dived for the water. As he fell a voice spoke in the back of his head, not Angel's this one was more ancient. You owe me one Perseus, the voice chuckled, my little hero you have no idea of what is waiting for you. More chuckles came, I'll wait for you, and you'll come dragging yourself to me looking for what you most love.

Annabeth! Percy thought when he hit the water, was she captured too? He started to swim in the opposite direction from the island. Then a commanding voice stopped him in his tracks.

Percy, Max says we need to head to the coast, then we can regroup and show you around more peacefully. Angel's sweet voice came to Percy's mind, this was his chance to escape, but his body wouldn't respond. Instead of swimming towards his freedom, Percy found himself moving closer to the place where the Flock had landed.

To keep his façade of mutant Percy willed himself wet, so when he reached the shore he was drenched from head to toe. A hand came to help him up, it was Fang.

Fang was also wet and his long bangs clung to his face as he looked around for more lightning and as expected he found not a single cloud on the sunny sky. His jaw dropped. There wasn't a clue to prove that a giant storm had almost killed them a few minutes ago.

"Percy, come, Dylan is going to take you for some dry cloths. While you are at it I will go talk to my mom about the bizarre weather." It was clear Max had overcome the initial shock and was back to her normal bossy self.

"What about your clothes?" Percy knew he didn't have to change cloths if the Flock wasn't doing it and he was pretty much sure that the topic of the mother-daughter talk wouldn't be the weather but a person whose name started with P- and ended with –ercy.

"Percy, we have to go, they will change later." Dylan spoke quietly pulling him towards the jungle. The demigod started to resist the urge to smack Dylan on the face and go with the Flock.

Follow him, a commanding voice spoke in his mind, Percy didn't remember hearing it before. It was not the ancient voice nor Angel's sweet one.

Perfect! He thought. First I'm a demigod, then I grow wings, now I hear strange voices in my head. What's next am I growing crazy! It's not like I have much choice. Percy turned around and followed Dylan into the depths of the unknown.

They didn't fly. And Percy was grateful for that. The real reason was that the branches were to low and the trees to close to even consider opening the wings. After a while of walking and in Percy's case stumbling from exhaustion a small house came into sight. Percy looked around the tiny house was alone no other one could be seen in a 200 feet radius.

"Welcome to my home." Dylan spoke as he opened the door.

Sorry if you think of this as a fillers chapter, but it's important to build the story plot. I promise next chapter will be more interesting! Please review!
