Chapter 10

Group Two

Wesker tried his best to get there fast enough once he heard her call out his name. But it was too late. No matter how fast he was, he could do only one thing. Watch as she fell with a scared look on her face as three baboons now turn their attention on him. As the first one jumps at him, Wesker smirks remembering all the data on the Eliminators Umbrella collected, only one real problem. They hadn't been tested with him. Moving flawlessly it doesn't take him long to kill them all.

heading to the hole, Wesker drops to his knees. "Sam?!" He yells only to get nothing in response.

Feeling his frustration beginning to build up, he heads for the hallway in hopes to find some answers as to where she fell. But the moment he enters the hallway, this unexpected static sound, comes out of nowhere causing Wesker to jump a few feet in the air. As to where it was coming from he didn't know where to start looking.

In the hole

Panic and fear raced through out her body as she fell, for what at first seemed to be forever but really turned out to be a few seconds. When she thought it would never end Sam ends up hitting a large pipe sticking out. Grabbing onto it for dear life, she takes a few seconds to try and get some air back into her lungs. Looking around there didn't seem to be a way to climb out cause all she sees is dirt and a few more pipes. Nothing to use to climb.

Feeling desperate, she tries one thing. "Someone please help me." Her words are low. "Help!" She screams the last word out. Hoping someone will hear her.

"Did you hear that?" A voice comes through an earpiece she never knew was there.

"Hello?" She calls out, praying she wasn't going crazy. Well not yet at least.

"Who's there?" The voice was starting to sound very familiar.

"It's Sam. Please help me!" She looks up, hoping the voice was somewhere close by. But she was alone.

"Where are you Sam? It's Kevin and Jack." Kevin responds to her.

Taking a deep breathe, she tries to keep ahold of the pipe. "I fell through the floor on the basement first floor!" Her voice breaks a little.

Silence. She could hear their voices and starts to panic as the pipe begins to shift a bit. She let's out a squeak. "I'm not sure how far you are from us." Jack suddenly says.

"Where are you?" Sam tries to hide the fear in her voice, but does a poor job of it.

They take their time to look around. "It looks like we're in the dining room."

"Okay there are two doors. One has a fire symbol on it and the other is normal looking. Head for that one! There you will find yourself in a hallway, go to your left, down the stairs past the heater, there will be more steps." Sam has to stop talking to get a better grip of the pipe. "You will then enter a large room with a really short hallway, I'm in the room to the right! Please hurry!"

She soon starts to realize just how weak her arms were getting and it was also getting harder not to panic. After telling the boys what to do there was this long pause that seemed to add to her panic and fear. As the seconds ticked by her hopes that they would get here in time was slipping away. Just like she was on the pipe.

"Please hurry! I don't want to die!" Some rocks from over head fall down causing her to lose grip of the pipe and fall once again.

Screaming in fear all Sam could do was close her eyes and wait for whatever kind of pain awaited her at the bottom that would follow closely by death. But suddenly someone grabs her arm.

Group Four

Listening to the conversation Alex and Claire never felt more useless in their entire lives. Someone they knew needed their help but they couldn't get to them cause of these things blocking their way out. That is till someone opens the door at the top of the stairs. Looking up they see Jack and Kevin rushing down the stairs two at a time. Sometimes three if they were feeling lucky. Not wanting to be left behind, they run behind them as they break the door down. Jack moving quick to kill the baboons that were in the room, and Kevin heading for the back. Finding what they could only presume was the door they were looking for, Kevin looks like he's going to be sick once he finds out the door is locked.

"Please hurry! I don't want to die!" They hear her voice through the door.

Unwilling for them to find the key, Jack breaks the door down as Kevin and Alex run past him. Both taking a dive for this big hole in the floor.

"Don't worry Sam. We got you!" Kevin says as the two of them pull her out of the hole.

Walking over to the group with Claire behind him, he tells them to stay here, so he could check if there was anymore baboons left for him to kill. During that time Kevin tries his best to help Sam through what just happened. Tho for some reason she seems to be taking it pretty well.

"Hello? Can anyone hear me?" Wesker breaks the silence over what they think is their radios. Tho they don't know how long they had them.

"It's Alex. I'm with Claire, Jack, Kevin, and Sam. We're on the second floor of the basement." Alex says as he walks back and forth.

"I'll be there soon." Was the last thing Wesker said before going silent.

While they wait for Wesker to get there and Jack to finish killing the baboons, the group falls back into silence unsure of what to say.

Group Six

Not paying any attention to what everyone else was doing, Alfred and Steve were getting their asses handed to them by a leech zombie, who was slamming them into a wall. Trying his best not to cry Alfred raises his shotgun and fires several shots at it causing the zombie to screech in pain. Getting to his feet Steve joins in until the zombie breaks down into smaller leeches. Freaking out and screaming like little girls, the boys jump over the leech puddle, head for what it was guarding, and then run to the door. Running back to the stairs they head up them to find the once locked door, to be unlocked.

"I thought this was locked." Steve points out as he goes through it.

Once both of them are through the door, they start to hear things to their left. As they walk towards it, they get stopped by something coming at them.

"What.." Was all they got out before the two scream like teenager girls at a Justin Bieber concert.

Running towards the only door they had free, Steve suddenly stops at the sight of the one person he cares for and smiles at them. But it soon fades as Alfred bumps into him.

"Steve?" Claire was the first to speak as everyone watched the train wreck.

Getting up the two just give the other a dirty look before finding a spot to sit down. Turning his attention to Claire, Steve opens his mouth to say something but get interrupted. Only a few minutes go by when Wesker pops up in the doorway.

"When did they get here?" Wesker points to Steve and Alfred.

"We got here a few minutes before you did." Alfred looks up at him with an annoyed look on his face.

Ignoring him, Wesker walks over to where Sam was. "Are you okay?"

"I'm okay. Thanks." Sam answers him, with a look of confusion written on her face.

"Are you being nice to someone Wesker?" Claire asks, knowing it would bug him.

"Not at all. I'm just making sure she's okay so that nothing goes wrong when we try to get this mess fixed. Miss Redfield." Wesker tells her with his usual unreadable face.

"Whatever you say Wesker. Just know I will be telling Chris about this." Claire says as she gets up and heads for the door.

Trying to ignore her, Wesker just sits down which causes the others to laugh. Soon after Wesker can't help but laugh himself. Which is something he's never done.

Group One

Deciding to explore the rest of the first floor Jack and Kevin head back to the dining room to explore it. In case they came across a key for the gate on the second floor of the basement. As soon as they entered the room two zombies rise up and begin to walk over to them. Carefully lifting the shotguns they took from Alfred and Steve, the guys shoot the zombies heads off. Looking around the room, at all of the tables, they found some ammo for a Killer 7, no gun, two first aid sprays, and lots of dust. Just no key.

"I'm thinking it's in the kitchen." Jack says as he heads over to the door with a fire symbol on it.

Opening the door, Jack didn't think there would be a leech zombie waiting for him, until Kevin suddenly pulls him back. And the zombies arm stretches out stopping only a few feet away from his face.

"I really hate this place." Jack growls as he shoots the zombie in the head.

And just like the other leech zombies, it breaks down after being shot a few times. Not bothering to avoid the smaller leeches, Jack steps all over them as he looks around the kitchen. That is starting to get stinkier by the minute. Looking around a little faster, they come across a shot gun, shells, and an odd looking key.

"Hey guys I think we found something." Kevin says as the two of them grab everything on the way out of the room.

As they start to head back to the basement they come to a complete stop suddenly. "Did you hear that?" Jack turns to Kevin.

"It sounded like something big." Kevin answers as he takes out his gun and starts heading towards the door.

Keeping quiet the two make it down the stairs where Kevin suddenly stops at the animal statue. Not caring that Jack was continuing to move, Kevin looks very closely at the plates under the animals. That's when he saw something odd about them.

"I wonder what this would do." He says to himself as he places the key in the deer plate.

Turing it, the sound of a very large lock unlocking slams down, sending an echoing sound throughout the whole mansion. Once the sound ended the group runs to where Kevin was standing with a shocked looked on his face.

Group Five

Looking around the pair tried to locate the source of the new sound that was coming from everywhere. But they weren't have much luck and the room they were in was poorly lit and they had the feeling that something was watching them. Whatever it was, it wasn't showing itself, so they would have to push for it to come out. Raising their guns they make their way further into the room, but only making it half way, a leech zombie jumps or falls down from the ceiling. As soon as it gets back to it's feet, it slaps Kelly in the face, sending her back and into the door.

"Kelly!" Leon yells as he takes aim and fires into the zombies head.

Screeching in pain, it takes one last time to attack before it breaks down, by slapping Leon's face. As he goes down, Kelly is on her feet, sending one last bullet into the zombies head causing it to break down.

"Leon are you okay?" Kelly asks as she helps in up.

"I'll live. What about you?" Leon looks at her with concern on his face.

"I will live. It will take more than a leech zombie to bring me down." Kelly says with a smile.

Smiling back they look around the room, they try to find a way out of here that didn't involve going out the first door. Anything to get away from those crows. But the only thing they saw was this old looking lift, that looked like the last time it got used was over 50 years ago. Walking over to it, Kelly is the first to get on, while Leon looked for the controls as he was getting on.

"I don't see any controls, do you?" Leon asks Kelly the moment his foot leaves the floor behind him and steps onto the lift.

Kelly was about to say something when the lift falls. Screaming in terror they hold onto each other and wait for the bottom to hit. Which it does in only a few seconds.

"That was a little embarrassing. Glad you're the only one to see that." Leon tells Kelly as he starts to laugh.

"So true." Kelly also starts laughing as well.

"What's so funny?" A male voice cuts through their laughter.

Screaming like a little girl, Leon aims his gun and was about to fire when Kelly stops him. "It's Chris and Ashley, Leon!" Kelly struggled to say that to him as she was holding back the need to laugh. As did the others.

Going red in the face, Leon moves towards the counter. "Yeah real funny you guys. So where are we?"

"Second floor, west wing. And this is their library." Chris answered him.

"How do you know all that detail of where we are Chris?" Kelly asked as she walked over to him.

"We have a map!" Ashley quickly answers before Chris has a chance to look up.

As the silence followed, it gets broken by the sound of something very large breaking down a wall, close by from the way the echoing of the sound. But as quick as the sound came so was its disappearance. Staying quiet they wait for whatever it was to make more noise, but at first nothing happened, and then the noise got stronger. Before anyone could say a word a very familiar roar echoes through the hallways.

Group Three

Fear ran through Ashley like never before. She knew they had to go and investigate it but she wished it was someone else in her place. Everything Chris and Leon were saying suddenly became one voice that was hard to follow.

Smacking her hands a few inches from her face, Ashley screams. "Earth to Ashley!" Kelly says to her.

"What's the plan guys?" Ashley tries to act as if nothing happened.

"We were thinking about finding out what made that noise." Chris tells her.

Thinking about it, she takes a looks around and knows they know what she will say. "Let's do it."

With a smile Chris turns to the others only to start laughing at the looks the others had on their faces. A look of shock, tho Leon had the most shock mainly cause of how she was in Resident Evil 4. Coming back to reality, they all head for the door. But something stops them.

"I wonder what this would do." Kevin's faint voice echoes through the hallway.

Right before anyone could think of words to say, this loud sound of metal hitting metal shacks the room they are in. They couldn't understand how this was happening or what caused it. Ignoring it, they continue to head to the east wing. Waiting for everyone to single that they were ready, Chris opens the door, letting Leon be the first to see if it's all clear. What he saw was a large hole in the wall.

Groups Two, Four, Six, and One

Running into the statue room the group watches at the oil lamp in front of Kevin suddenly turn black. Once they were next to him they all try to understand what he did to make this happen. At first no one could see, until...

"A key?" Sam's voice breaks the silence as she places her hand on the plate below the deer.

"What about a key Sam?" Alex asks as he looks at where she was.

Ignoring him, Sam looks for a certain animal and once she finds it, she takes out what looks like a key and places it in the wolf plate. Seconds later the same sound of metal hitting metal echoes throughout the whole place.

"Did anyone else find a key with an animal head on it?" Wesker asks as he looks around at everyone.

"We found the snake." Kelly announces as she heads for the animal and does the same as Sam.

Waiting for the locks to finish unlocking, Steve heads over to the eagle statue. "Here goes nothing." He says as he places the key in the plate.

"Why is the gate still locked?!" Alfred's very whiny and annoying voice suddenly comes after he tries to open the gate.

"They're still locked cause we need two more keys. The horse and tiger." Kevin answers him first.

"We have one of those keys and a big problem on the second floor. East wing." The voice belonged to Leon.

"What's the big problem?" Wesker asks as he noticed Kelly looking at another key in her hands.

The line goes dead. "Chris!?" Claire yells in fear that something horrible has happened to him.

"I'm sure he's okay Claire." Sam tries to calm her down as she walks over to her.

"What key is that Kelly?" Wesker finally asks her.

Looking up Kelly shows him. "I think it's for the observatory on the third floor."

"Why didn't you check it out?" Jack hisses at her.

"We couldn't cause something very large broke down the wall and was after us." Kelly gives Jack the same kind of attitude back to him.

"That's enough you two!" Claire and Sam somehow managed to say at the same time.

"Very weird. I vote for going to the observatory." Alex says as everyone looks over at him.

"I vote that I should go!" Jack practically spits in Alex's face.

"I'll go instead of Alex." Kevin says as the tension was starting to get worse.

"Sweet. Then we will stay here." Alex says with a smile.

"Okay then Alfred and Steve can wait here while Sam and I go help the others." Wesker says as the four of them head to the stairs.

"This isn't fair!" Alex yells as they open the door.

Laughing a little they head through the dining room, where Wesker took a few extra seconds to look around the room. Once in the main lobby, Jack and Kevin nod at the two before running up the stairs. While Sam and Wesker head for the other side of the stair case. There they found the hatch leading to the train crash.

Sam bends down to open it but gets stopped. "It's locked." Wesker says holding her shoulder.

Ignoring him, she pulls on the hatch only to find it unlocked.
