Chapter Ten
Andrea POV
It was lunch time at school and I wasn't hungry so I decided to sneak of to the music room and try out there sound system.
I sat on the stool with my guitar in front of the microphone. I sang and played the songs that I knew. I sounded pretty good, awesome actually.
I heard clapping behind me.'' That's good.''
I turned around and did a complete double take.
David Abbot was standing behind me.
''Ummmm….You've been here this whole time.''I blushed.
''Yeah. I come here every chance I get to practice my guitar.''
I laughed a little.''What are the odds?''
''Odds about what?''
''Umm…I mean….we both know each other and we both come here during lunch to practice our guitars. I have a dentist appointment…bye.' I scurried out of the room.
David POV
I watched he go, mentally kicking myself. I was an idiot. I could've said a million things besides,''Yeah I come here every chance I get.''
''She's good isn't she?''
I turned and saw Mr. Jenkins, the music teacher.
''Almost as good as me.'' I replied.
''You should ask her to do the talent show.''
''You think she would?''
''Look, I know for a fact that Andrea Roberts isn't the most outgoing person in world, but she just needs a little push that's all.''
''A little push.'' I murmured
Andrea POV
Valentines Day was never really a big day for me. So I decided to boycott it by wearing a blue t-shirt and green pants and a black headband.
I got on the bus and sat next to Julie like normal.
''So, you're still boycotting V-day , eh? I thought that was an Elementary thing.''' Julie commented as I slid next to her.
''Some things don't change with time.'' I muttered.
''Hey! Lighten up! I saw David staring at you yesterday.''
''So? He was probably staring a huge pimple or my crooked tooth!''
''No it wasn't that staring. And that tooth is not crooked. It's only slightly off.''
''Yeah, like the rest of me.''
''Andrea…''
''Alright I'll stop putting myself down.''
Towards the end of school. I found a note stuffed in my locker. Thinking it was a another mean one from Meredith, I tried to ignore it. But some subconscious force beckoned me to opened it. I did.
It said-
I'm
not going to do that stupid rhyming. That would take too long. I think you're a really good guitar player. And I want you to the talent show with me. I think we'd be great together.
Meet me at the statue in front of the school . At 3:05.
-David (Abbot)
At first I thought it was some kind of joke. But I recognized David's handwriting (I sit next to him in English).
I looked at my watch. I only had 2 minutes! I grabbed my stuff and ran. Multiple teachers told me to walk. How could I? This was a once in a life time opportunity for Christ's Sake!
