Here we are, next chapter. Woohoo. Sometimes I think I'm just writing these for myself

Update: found out this chapter went crazy so here is what it was supposed to be. Sorry about that

Dave had heard about the Rogue of Heart alright, she was well known among the army for sneaking in after battles and claiming riches left from the dead or stealing fine treasures received after a hunt. Only hearing stories and never really finding himself on her list of enemies Dave didn't know much about this rogue other than she helped others and for that she was never an enemy to him. Dave Strider looked up at the troll who had reasoned his stare towards a cluster of trees only 5 feet away.

"Should we be worried? I mean I have nothing since we left all my armor and weapons with your troops or back in that clearing, so I can't exactly defend myself too well, plus it looks like I'm swimming in a green ocean right now." Dave said slowly, turning his gaze to where Karkat had fixed his eyes and hoping to make out something in his swimming vision that had creeped up with the sudden movements of being placed back onto the now brittle and rock strewn ground. The Knight of Blood chuckled lightly, finding the atmosphere set around this cluster of trees much more favorable than being so close to something that made his blood boil under his skin in an alarming fashion. Now that Dave was not so close, Karkat could think more along his usual track of thought. These thoughts, of course, mainly dealt with the Knight of Time and different ways to use his blood as paint, but all in all it was far more normal for someone who was labeled a crazed blood thirsty troll.

"No we have nothing to worry about, Nepeta and I go way back, she's actually the reason I was able to become a knight in the first place. As far as that ocean of green try to stay away from anything that is a yellow/white color and we should be fine." Karkat responded cheekily, catching the "jerk" that was breathed out under Dave's breath, his face breaking into a toothy smile of delight before straining to listen to the surrounding woods. The troll closed his eyes in concentration, trying to hear any movement along the earth, but finding it rather difficult when what he was straining to hear was trained in the art of stealth. Due to his lack of vision Karkat didn't become aware of his friend's presence until he heard a muffled grunt come from his captive. Fluttering his eyes open quickly the Knight of Blood shot his gaze down to see that Dave was passed out cold while the Rogue of Heart stood smiling over his still form. Karkat began to panic quietly, finding that he was genuinely scared about the human's safety at the present moment but was settled from these alarming thoughts with Nepeta's carefree voice.

"Calm down there Karkitty, I'm just trying to help you both out. You do realize he has been suffering from blood loss due to multiple wounds along his wrist and head along with a large gash across his chest. I simply knocked him out, so that his body could concentrate on healing itself instead of putting on a strong front for its captor." Karkat looked away guiltily, not realizing the extent of some of the injuries he had caused. He had not given Dave time to properly re-bandage some of his wounds and mend the knife cut along his chest.

"You really should take better care of your jewels." Nepeta sighed lightly before picking up the Knight of Time and placing him in front of Karkat on his ashen horse, taking note of the slight twitch Karkat showed.

"Jewel? Nepeta, he is my prisoner, and that is all he will ever be. Might as well be dead for all I care." Karkat said angrily, already feeling the way his blood boiled with rage at the closeness of Dave, finding it loathsome how he rather enjoyed the sight of the blonde so close to his body. Nepeta shook her head in defeat before slowly turning towards the woods, making slow soundless steps back to her perch among the trees, her dark pink outfit swaying slightly in the shift of the wind.

"All I'm saying is this one is different because you haven't killed him yet, and I can see you both will learn a lot from each other. Oh and one more thing." Nepeta turned to face her friend, staring into his yellow eyes with her own yellow cat like ones, a serious gaze drifting between the two. "I would watch your back from now on because the capture of someone as well known as the Knight of Time could be troublesome, and you will find even if you cover up that title he will still be sought out by people who would have their way with someone as precious as him."

Before Karkat could say anything in response the pink clothed troll disappeared into the greenery of the forest, leaving nothing behind to link her to the area other than the warm body breathing slowly in front of the troll.

"Nepeta knows something I don't know, and I'm sure as hell going to find out." Karkat said through clenched teeth before he flicked the reins that had somehow been tied back to his horse, guiding his stead towards his kingdom before whispering quietly, hoping no one would hear his out loud contemplation in a voice that was too soft for his brutal personality, "Precious?" Karkat breathed out, stroking one blonde lock of loose hair on his captive before turning his attention back to the rocky road that lay before him.

Nepeta sighed to herself before letting a small smile creep on her pleasant face, watching Karkat take his leave from her domain among the trees, "You will realize soon my little naïve knight, I just hope it is sooner rather than later."
