Chapter 10 :
HEY GUYS! Sooo yeah sorry for the...month wait?...could have been longer...but yeah things are still crazy over here but I was still able to write this thankfully ^-^. Personally I really liked writing this chapter. It finally got some interaction between Catori and Eren...well not much but more than last chapter. And there will be more interaction between them in the future~. Sooo yeah hope you like the chapter and sorry for any grammar or spelling errors...the current person who proof reads my stuff is not available and I've always been crappy at proof reading. Reviewing and Favoriting is appreciated! ^-^
Sitting in the grass at the old scout regiment headquarters, I waited for Levi and his squad to arrive with Eren. Truth be told, despite how nice the scenery of all the trees and gleaming green grass were…I missed the good old place~. Preferably, my room…AND now that we're going to be staying at this place for a while-or maybe not even a while-it means that Levi's going to want us to clean the headquarters…ALL of it.
Hearing the clip-clop of horse hooves I knew they had arrived. Stretching my shoulders back, and cracking and popping a few bones, I let out a sigh. As I saw them approaching I saw that Oulo was nursing his jaw.
Heh, he bit his tongue again didn't he…
After they led their horses to the stable, and after petra helped the idiot take care of this tongue problem, I trotted over to Eren.
"Let me guess, he tried to act all high and mighty at his first impression and ended up with a bloody mouth."
Eren looked over at me as he attempted to fix up his horse's saddle.
"Um, yeah his horse hit a rock," Eren said, his face scrunching up recalling the memory.
"Eh don't worry about him. It happens all the time. I guess he doesn't get the message that he needs to shut his mouth," I giggled out helping Eren adjust the saddle.
"T-thanks squad lead-"
"Catori."
"-uh-I mean-catori. Really I'm fine, you don't have to help me."
"Yeaaah I know, but I've been doing this for so long that-well wait does 3 years count as long?," I said pondering over my own words, "BUT yeah um-ANWAYS, yeah no problem."
"So you've been in the scouts for 3 years?"
"Yup~."
"So doesn't that mean you've been here for 6 years?"
"Getting smart now are we~? Heh, but if you mean by how long I've been in ALL of this altogether, I've still only been here for 3 years."
"Wha-I don't understand," Eren replied looking puzzled.
"Well it's kind of a complicated and long story but to cut things short I never went through training."
Eren's expression could only be described in one word…"WHAT?!" He still seemed to be comprehending what I just said.
"Then how-?!"
"Oi, Catori."
Turning my head to the side I saw Levi.
"Grab a broom. We're cleaning, this place is filthy."
Knew it….
"What? Levi, its fine~," I waved off his comment.
In reply he narrowed his eyes and pursed his lips.
"It needs to be cleaned. Petra will come to give you your broom and handkerchiefs."
"WHOA wait," I called out as he walked away, "who said-don't walk away from me when I'm talking to you!"
He proceeded to walk into the building and ignore my comment.
Ughhhh I hate cleaning…
"Well come on….let's find Petra and get this over with," I motioned to Eren as I started to walk inside was well.
****line break****
"Clean the windows he says…too bad if you don't want to he says…I got a few things to say to him…" I mumbled to myself as I hung, thanks to my gear, outside the building cleaning the big windows.
"I mean really, why would we need to clean these windows!? And from the outside!? I mean really….ughhhh I should have just came tomorrow with Hanji, but no…I insisted on coming today so I could keep an eye on Eren."
Looking around at my work I presumed I was done and opened up one of the fames of the window, so I could climb inside. Thankfully the opening was rather big so I could fit through with my maneuver gear. Now all I had to do was find Levi and ask him what to do next…or not find him at all and just look for Eren to make sure he's not being hounded for is "inadequate" cleaning skills.
Making my way down the hallway I bumped into…Levi…
Oh my lucky stars thanks universe….you're loving me today.
"Hey Levi," I said trying to brush off the shocked look on my face, as I started to walk off.
"You're done cleaning the windows I presume?"
Crap.
"Yeeesss…"
"I'll be the judge of that," he stated walking in the direction to where the big windows were.
"Levi come on! They're fine…"
There's no point in getting it through to him….and he'll probably have me clean them again just because I missed a spot so who knows how many more spots I missed OR just make me clean then again because, well, it's me...well time to bolt~
Briskly trotting down the hallway I saw Petra was standing in the doorway talking to someone.
"Really?" I heard Eren say as I entered the room.
"Really what?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
Petra then turned to me and replied, "Oh I was just telling him about how Levi joined the survey corps."
I started to giggle in the back of my throat.
"Oh my gosh yeah, heh, he practically had to be dragged here kicking-"
"-and screaming~," Petra finished my sentence.
Turning back towards Eren I walked over to him.
"So how's your cleaning going?"
"Well I think I'm done but Corporal Levi went to go and inspect my work, so I'm not sure how well my cleaning is going yet," he said letting out a chuckle.
"Yeah, evidently he's inspecting mine too….don't be surprised if he comes in here telling you to re-"
"Catori!" I heard a voice resonate form the hallway.
"Crap he's going to tell me to re-clean that whole window," I whispered out, darting my eyes right and left.
"And I can't hide in this stupid gear…."
"Catori…"
Crap he's already here.
Inching behind Eren I saw Levi enter the room, with a very unamused eyes.
"I can see you….."
"No you can't~," I said crouching more behind Eren.
Petra let out a small giggle, which only led to Levi shooting her a glare.
"Oh-um-I'll just go and continue cleaning," she stuttered slipping out of the room with a nervous smile.
"First off, I have no idea why you decided to go and run off like an idiot. And two, your cleaning is inefficient."
"Levi it's a window….and I cleaned it pretty gosh darn good. I'm not going to re-clean it just because there was a spec of dirt on it." I groaned out, peaking my head out from around Eren.
Levi just let out a sigh and turned to Eren, "And you go back. You're cleaning is horrid."
"Uh-yes sir!" Eren replied about to leave only to realize I had a grip on his shirt.
"Tsk, will you let go of him. You're a squad leader, act like it."
"Pffft, do you even know who you're talking to? Have you learned nothing Levi? Geez I thought you were smarter than that."
Levi started to grit his teeth and glare at me with an intensity that I usually saw on a daily basis.
"Ok, ok, gosh don't get your cravat in a twist," I said releasing Eren and giving Levi a smirk.
"Here how about I go and help Eren with his cleaning, so that way you can be sure that it's super clean," I chimed, grabbing Eren's wrist and leading us out the door, "See compromise~."
"I don't do compromise….."
"What sorry can't hear you~!" I called out as Eren and I were already more than halfway down the hallway.

Sitting down at the table I sipped my tea. It was early in the night and I was totally bored out of my gourd….and completely tired from cleaning.
Man maybe I should have stayed behind until tomorrow when Roy, Kiwi, and everyone else is going to head on over….but then again, Eren would be stuck with these guys…well it's not that I have anything against Petra, Eld, Gunther, or…well Oulo gets on my nerves, but yeah, I just felt better with me being here keeping an eye on him.
I'm pretty sure they were talking about something about the next mission but I was blocking it all out, day dreaming…
Man Roy you need to get here…I miss the way you make my tea~
Letting out a small groan I looked down at my cup. Taking a swig of the adequate tea, I internally sighed at taste.
Scratch that, this tea in general is no good. What kind of tea is this anyway?!
For some reason everything went silent, so I looked up from my cup. Everyone was staring at Eren and by the looks of it he looked nervous…really nervous.
"I still have trouble believing it….You 'can turn into a titan' but what does that mean, Eren?"
"I wish I could tell you…but my memory is still really hazy. It almost felt like I was in a dream state. I do know that it can be triggered by hurting myself though. Like biting my-" Eren then stopped midsentence as though he was confused with himself.
"You guys already know all this. Everything he told us was already written down in the reports…but you know who will still have a go at it…" Levi said picking up his tea.
Hanji~
"You'll be lucky to come out alive if that one gets her hands on you."
"OH come on Levi, she's not going to kill him. Don't scare him."
There was then a bag on the door and by the sound of it.
"OW!"
Speak of the devil.
"I'll get it," I sighed, getting up out of my chair and walking over to the door.
Removing the plank of wood that was keeping the door closed, Haji slowly opened the door.
"You really need to not run into doors man," I laughed setting the wood down.
"Heh, yeah…well.. Goood evening team Levi~-and Catori. How is castle life treating everyone~," Hanji smiled walking in.
"You're early…" Levi groaned out, not bothering to even look back.
"Of course I am! How could you expect me to stay away, when I knew he was here!" she exclaimed striding over to Eren.
"Squad Leader Hanji?"
"Hi-ya Eren! As you probably have already guessed I'm in-charge of everything about the scout regimen's research efforts. So everything that has to do with titans. Oh and I was also wondering if you could help me with the experiment tomorrow with our new specimens."
"Experiment? What would I do?" Eren questioned, not knowing what the heck she was talking about.
"What else than the totally awesome thing to do!" She said letting her really crazy insane side show.
Faceplaming I rolled my eyes…yup that's my best friend ladies and gentlemen…
"Uh I'd be happy to help, but I can't give you permission myself. I don't have authority over myself you see."
As soon as Eren finished his sentence, Hanji's head whipped towards Levi, "Levi what's Eren doing tomorrow!"
"Pulling out the weeds…"
"Well it's decided then! Youngman tomorrow will be grand," Hanji said grabbing Eren's hand in both of hers.
"Uh, yes ma'am."
I better stop this now before she goes to an entire new level.
"Ok Hanji, let's let Eren's hand go, so he doesn't lose circulation," I said unclamping her hands form Eren's.
"So what are these experiments that we'll be-"
"Soooo Hanji how was your trip!?" I exclaimed cutting Eren off.
"Aahhhh I knew it~" Hanji cooed.
Crap she heard him.
Leaning over by Eren, I murmured, "Dude prepare yourself for the storm."
"Storm?"
Everyone then started to file out the room, knowing of the long babbling ahead, and left just Hanji, Eren, and I in the room.
Hanji then took a seat in a chair, knowing that she was going to be talking for a while.
OH no I ain't getting in the middle of this again. I did a few years ago and learned that lesson….fairly quickly.
"Yeah weeeellll I still got a whole day of annoying Levi to catch up on sooo I gotta get going~," I said stretching my arms above my head.
Before I left I whispered in Eren's ear, "But seriously if you need help just holler or better yet bolt and leave."
He gave me a questioning look, but I furiously nodded my head hoping he'd heed my words.
"What did you say to him?" Hanji questioned raising an eyebow.
"Oh nothing~. Ya know just-yeah I gotta go-see ya later Hanji!" I called out running as fast as my feet could take me.
*****line break******
Lounging in the couch in Levi's temporary office, I let out a groan.
"What is it now?"
"Bored."
"Well then why don't you go and roll around in the grass outside instead of being here."
"Cuz it's not fun when it's just me, I mean, Hanji's babbling to Eren, Kiwi isn't here yet, and neither is Roy, and mama wants a hot cup of Roy's tea!"
"You had tea."
"Yeah but not Roy's tea."
"Well what's wrong with my tea?" Levi said with a hint of annoyance laced in his voice.
"Many things."
Letting out a sigh Levi looked up from the paperwork he was doing.
"Well that's not my problem, so either get over it or shut up. I didn't ask you to come into my office."
"Awww come on don't kick me out~."
"I'm not kicking you out I'm giving you a decision to keep your mouth shut or get out."
"Fine, fine~."
There was about a minute or two of silence, but surprisingly Levi broke it.
"Why is it that the first place you chose to come was here?"
"What?"
"You could have gone to Petra, Gunther, Eld, or Oulo-well never mind about Oulo you despise him."
"You got that right."
"But instead you came here. Why?"
"Um cuz you're the person that I hang out with, I mean, I'm always either with Roy, Hanji, Kiwi, Erwin, or YOU. Friends, I mean duh~."
Looking up at him I saw he was looking back down at his paper work, "Right."
"Why would you ask anyways? I mean you should know why I'm here. Also I never miss an opportunity to bother you."
"Well that's true. You just love being the thorn in my side."
"Well I prefer being that little pebble in your shoe. I mean aren't those the worst, like it's just so bothersome and it can like FREAKIN HURT and then you have to take off your boot just to get it out AND EVEN THEN sometimes when you think you got it out it's still there~."
"That's you in a nutshell."
Letting out a laugh I shifted to a more comfortable position on the couch, "Yup that's me."
I nestled my head comfortably on the cushiony pillow, staring at Levi. I was so comfortable, I could probably fall asleep right then and there, but I couldn't, I needed to check on Eren in an hour or so to make sure he was ok with Hanji's rant and all. The boy needs his sleep if he's going to be with her tomorrow. I let out a yawn as my eyes drooped.
"You should sleep."
"Huh?"
"You haven't had good sleep, not to mention just recovered from being inside of titan vomit. And you always go to bed late."
"Aww you worry about me~."
"I just don't need you tired… you're worse when you're tired."
"Well I can't ….I have to go check on Eren."
I heard Levi let out a sigh and get up from his seat, "He'll be fine. He's a big boy. If he really can't take it anymore he'll leave like you told him."
"But-"
"Just listen to me for once and go to sleep," he exasperated, almost appearing that he actually cared.
Realizing that he possibly sounded genuine he added in a swift, "brat…."
"But he-"
"-will be fine and is fully capable of taking care of himself, but you aren't, so you need to go to sleep."
It was true…I probably did need to go to sleep. I had to wake up really early this morning to get to this base before they did…mainly because I knew Levi would tell me not to go….so yeah I was really tired to say the least.
"Hey I can *yawn* take care of myself!...And you're the one to talk about sleeping, always pulling those all-nighters….I mean look at *yawn* those dark circles."
Scoffing at me he turned on his heel back to his seat. I thought he had given me up as a lost cause, but I saw him walk back over with his green scout legion cloak in hand.
"You're hopeless…" I heard him scoff under his breath as he draped it over me.
Slowly blinking my eyes, I tried to keep them awake.
"Hey-"
"Just rest."
Come on Catori you can totally give a retort or get up and leave and show that-oh man it's so warm….and soft….and smells like soap…pft no duh it smells like soap.
Getting sleepier and sleepier I forgot even what I was thinking about and I let my drowsiness take over me. Snuggling more into the couch I let out a content sigh as I drifted off into a deep slumber. Right before I blacked out I could hear the faint resonance of Levi's voice
"Idiot."
So yup that's about it. Personally I really like writing interactions between Levi and Catori. Their arguments/banter/interation is so fun to write and sometimes it's cute XD...well cute may not be the word but along those lines. Soooo yeah I already started on the next chapter but do not know when it will be posted. And as always any comments or suggestions are always welcome and wanted! Comments usually motivate me to write more, so the chapter comes quicker, but it will come either way~. But seriously I love reading comments, they help a lot ^0^. C U in the next update!
