YOU JERK
A/N: - Read and Review.
Side note: - In India (more like from where I am, they say in India lore changes every 100 kilometers) we have two kind of evil. First, which is born evil or evil itself manifested (Satan)and the other one being influenced by the evil to walk on the evil path (devil). They also say that the latter is more dangerous of the two.
Kurama speaks using bold letters.
Uzumaki Naruto was searching for his sensei. Apparently, the man has finally admitted that nobody is better choice for becoming the next hokage. Finally his life-long dream will be complete, he just has to under some silly training and bamm Naruto Uzumaki becomes the greatest hokage ever. Only problem in his plan was that he couldn't find his sensei. Kakashi sensei was always good at hiding. One time 'baa-chan' had to assign the task to an anbu team because Kakashi sensei wasn't feeling like to meet hokage. But no matter, the future hokage is not afraid from a little challenge.
After an hour of searching through every nook and cranny of village, Naruto finally found his sensei. Of course he was going to find his sensei near the cenotaph. Why did he even bother to search all the different places when he was sitting in the most obvious option of all? Seems like Kakashi sensei was still his old grim self. He need something or rather someone in his life. At least he is not standing in front of the stone, just lounging in the tree nearby.
Over the years, this spot had become Kakashi's favorite sitting spot. He was still reading his favorite book away from the village in a long forgotten training ground. A perfect way to spend a perfect day. 'He is lounging around without a care in the world. I must sneak up on sensei and surprise him.' Naruto thought plotting another one of his 'devious' plans and snickered. He started moving cautiously towards his target.
Just as Naruto reached Kakashi and was putting his hand on his sensei's shoulder his sensei usual calm voice surprised him first.
"You know Naruto, it is not nice to try to scare your old sensei." Kakashi said without looking up from his book. Naruto was startled and confused, how did he know?
"Oh man! How did you know Kakashi sensei? I tried everything like that suppressing my chakra and coming in from blind spot." Naruto complained to his sensei.
"Call it an old man's instinct." Naruto frowned, not entirely satisfied with the answer but then again he was use to it as sensei never gave a direct, to the point answer. He just has to be either smug or cryptic about the things.
"To what do I owe this pleasure, Naruto? You taking out time to see your sensei." Kakashi added as curious to why the blonde was there meeting him. He knew for certain that he was on a visit to suna to meet his friend Gaara and company. Must have came back home today only. He knew that boy was fond of him but not that much. As far as he knew boy's priority list started with ichiraku ramen extending to other ten types of ramen. Though there was a new addition to his list in form of his new fiancée, Hinata but he still didn't know why boy decided to pay visit to him before eating ramen and meeting Hinata.
"Well, you see I came back and Baa-chan told me that you proclaimed that I am the most suitable candidate for becoming Hokage. Baa-chan sent me here, told me that you will give me some sort of training to make me a ready for hokage."
"Did she now?" Kakashi said with an amused smile and continued "well, I am ready to teach you but I feel so ambushed today. I would need some time to prepare a training regiment for you." Naruto nodded understanding what his sensei was saying. Hokage training, as he heard from others, is not child's play. Usually previous hokage train his successor for at least six months, and said successor is usually have been a jonin for 10-15 years. And here is Naruto, jonin for only 7 months now and he thinks Kakashi would be an excellent mentor. Boy was still naïve. Still the man is treated with high regard everywhere and is a very experienced jonin and if it wasn't for his decision of not accepting hokage position, much to Naruto's dislike, he would have been made hokage three years ago. How one can refuse the most coveted position in all nations is beyond Naruto. It has been his lifelong dream, becoming hokage, and now Naruto is ready to take his first step towards his goal.
"Tell me Naruto, what will you do once you become hokage?" Kakashi asked his student the most quintessential question.
"Huh, what will I do?" Naruto thought for a second and replied "I will make konoha safest and happiest place in the world." Naruto said with his trademark goofy smile.
Kakashi smiled at Naruto's almost predictable answer and asked him how he is going to that. To which as he thought Naruto had no idea about. He is not the kind of guy who thinks it through before making a decision. Naruto was one of the rare guys who rarely conjure up a plan and would still, surprisingly, succeed in whatever task he went onto. Maybe it was because of his kind heartedness, camaraderie, courage, stubbornness or simply lucks. But to run a village he will need much more. And Kakashi knew that. He always thought that he was not fit to be a teacher, too many past demons. But Jiraiya-sama use to say that only thing that makes growing old makes worth it is wisdom. Kakashi now understands his role as a teacher.
"So Naruto I want you to think about it, how are you going to bring that change? What changes are you going to do to different governing bodies and different parts of the system to make this village a better place?"
"Different bodies? System?" the confusion was painted on his face.
'of course!, he doesn't know jack about the inner workings of konoha.' Kakashi thought and sighed. Well, he never get the chance to know about these things. For a regular ninja, before becoming a jonin he or she has to at least work as a chunin for at least three years. In those three years he or she will be transferred to various departments working under various jonins gaining the knowledge of how system works. However for Naruto they made an exception promoting him directly to the rank of jonin. Nobody thought that it would be wise or even suitable to make 'savior of the world' work as a chunin.
"Well then Naruto, now we know from where we have to start, from tomorrow I will start introducing you to different parts of konoha government and how they works. So meet me here 9'o clock in the morning."
"so that's it for today?"
"Yes, that's it." but as Naruto moved to leave Kakashi stopped Naruto. An excellent idea came to Kakashi out of blue so he stopped Naruto saying "wait Naruto, I have a task for you." And suddenly Naruto's eyes lightened up.
"A task, cool. What is it, sensei?" Naruto asked clearly overexcited and overjoyed. 'finally some real work.'
"calm down Naruto!" the hyper energy of the blonde boy always made him feel like a an old man. "It's a simple task. You have to keep this scroll safe. Do not open it or lose it, under any circumstances." Naruto nodded and started his journey to his apartment to meet up with his fiancée.
'Look Kurama I am finally on my way to realize my life-long dream of becoming Hokage.'
'hmm…' Kurama just nodded, happy for his friend.
Kakashi also stood up and readied himself to go home too. Just a couple more errands to do and then back to home sweet home.
Kakashi unlocked his apartment door and entered. Finally feeling relaxed after a long day of work, Kakashi closed the door behind him, put the bottle of sake on floor and proceeded to remove his sandals. He felt a presence behind him.
"Welcome home, kaka-kun" Sakura whispered in Kakashi's ear, smiling.
After a day of tackling his obtuse student, meeting with anbu, avoiding his 'eternal love rival' and stealing from Satan, Kakashi was not amused with his new nickname that his student-cum-wife has given him.
"No." Kakashi replied turning his head towards her and narrowing his eyes.
"What do you no?"
"I do not like the name."
"So? It's not up to you, I will choose the name I want to call you by. If you want you can give me a name." Sakura said still smiling mischievously.
"Hmm…" Kakashi hummed and put his hand beneath his chin, in his thinking pose. He didn't want this but giving her a nickname would be like giving this tag his consent. So he did what he does the best, hurt.
"What should I call Ms. I have never been on a second date here..." Kakashi said out loud.
Sakura's happy and smiley face changed to hurt and sadness. He used something she told him in a moment of weakness against her. And she was just trying to have some fun with her friend.
"You jerk!" that's all Sakura said before storming off to her room, opening the door so hard that it became permanently open.
Kakashi just sat there for a moment before moving to try to placate the only good thing in his life right now.
A/N: - I wanted to write a long chapter but thinking of writing 3000-4000 words makes me feel noxious. I don't know if I will continue the story or not. Too lazy to type on my laptop. Thanks for reading.
