A/N: Hello my lovelies! I'm really sorry for the unusually lengthy delay between updates, I started to get really busy at school and now I feel sick… But I'm here now! Thank you all for the reviews and the alert subscriptions, I really love you guys! I hope you enjoy this chapter!

Sam POV: "No Jared, I really don't think it would be a good idea to write Jake a fake speeding ticket for 300 dollars. First of all, poor kid's got enough on his plate already. Just phasing into a wolf and losing his friends. Plus, 300 is a ridiculous amount for a ticket and he'd never believe it," I rolled my eyes at him.

We were sitting in Emily's kitchen eating pot roast. He always liked to mess with new pack members. Usually I let him, because it was a kind of a 'welcome to the family' type of thing, but with Jacob it was different. The poor guy had lost even more than most of us coming in, even me. He'd lost his best friends, and the girl he loved, all because he found out he was destined to turn into a giant dog and hunt bloodsuckers.

But he was a good kid. He's really cool about it all even though we all know he's suffering. When I told him he was the rightful Alpha, he was gracious enough to let me keep my post. Whether it's because he hated being a part of the pack or if it was too much of a responsibility I didn't know. Either way I wouldn't blame him. We all loved each other like brothers but hated the fact we had to live as a pack.

We're all trying to help Jake adjust, but he's resisting. He'll come around with time.

Paul ran through the door, me and Jared turned around, startled. We had super-wolfy hearing as Emily called it, but sometimes even we got caught off guard.

Paul looked half panicked and half malicious (that wasn't new, but right now he looked like he had a reason). "So, you know how you asked me to patrol around Embry's house tonight, because he and Quil are both getting closer to phasing?"

I sighed, already knowing something was about to go wrong. "Yeah, what about it Paul?"

He snickered. "Well it seems that Call's got a new girlfriend, and let's just say the baby Alpha isn't going to be too jazzed when he finds out who she is."

I dropped my fork in my plate, feeling as though my hands were full of pins and needles, Jared's eyes were as wide as saucers.

"Wait," he said flatly. "Do you mean Embry Call is seeing Bella Swan? The girl his best friend has been goo goo over for years?"

A smirk crossed Paul's face. "Yup, that's the one. I'd say Black is going to go wolf on Call when he finds out," he burst out laughing.

I threw a bread roll at his head. Unfortunately he ducked out of the way before it could make contact with his eye. "Listen," I said, the Alpha timber heavy in my tone. We have to be careful about how Jake finds out about this. It's either going to break him, send him on a rampage, or both. Lives are at stake here and we all hate to see one of our brothers suffer.

Someone will end up being hurt in this situation, there's no doubt about it. It could be Jake, Quil, Embry, Bella, or all of them. I think it's in the pack's best interest to not push anything. Let Quil and Embry slowly grow into their phase, no forcing it. Leave well enough alone.

"But Sam," Jared sputtered. "What about Bella? I mean you saw her after Cullen left. I think Jake was the only thing that kept her from running away to Jacksonville with her mom. And when she does she won't be the only one broken. Charlie will be too."

I couldn't breathe. He was right and he knew it. Heck, I knew it too. I regained my calm and kept my voice void of all emotion. "That won't be our problem. Embry will get over her. And Charlie will see her periodically. It's out of our hands what happens after the phase. Let Embry and Bella enjoy what they have in peace while it lasts."

"While what lasts?" said a venomous voice from the doorway… Jake. "And what do Bella and Embry have Sam? How is it going to effect the pack?"

Where did the kid even come from?! Shoot, this was not how I planned to tell him! "Um, Jake… there are some things you need to know… that we just found out."

He nodded sharply. "And?"

For once I was actually terrified of the baby Alpha. "You should know… Bella and Embry have begun to see each other…"

We all waited a moment before looking him in the eyes again. He was vibrating with anger. When he turned around and stepped off the porch he sprang into his russet wolfy self.

"GO AFTER HIM!" I commanded, as we all phased and ran after him.

Jake POV: I laughed to myself as I walked through the woods. I phased back as soon as I'd heard the guys voices. I'd kept quiet of course, so they couldn't follow me. The only thought that was going through my mind was, How could Bella and Embry do this to me when they both know how I feel?

It didn't matter though. I was going to give Embry Call a piece of my mind. My face went as hard as stone and I put a smirk on my face as I knocked on the door of the Call's house.

No less than a moment later, Quil answered the door and his expression showed pure rage. "WHAT IN THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"
