Kurt looked at Blaine after hearing him say 'never' but he hadn't moved. He was still as still as a rock. Had he only imagined Blaine saying that? He grabbed Blaine's hand and said it again, "Don't leave me." Blaine lightly squeezed Kurt's hand in his own.
He heard it again, "never."
"Blaine?" Kurt stood up not letting go of Blaine's hand. "Nurse Kelley!" He yelled out the door. "I'm right here Blaine. I won't let you go. You're safe."
The nurse came running into the room. "What's wrong?"
"He said 'never' and squeezed my hand." Kurt said short of breath.
"I'll get the doctor." She said leaving the room.
Kurt stared at Blaine and noticed his eye brows twitch as he let out a breath. Kurt smiled; Blaine was going to be just fine.
It had been a few hours since Blaine regained consciousness and he and Kurt sat in the room together. For the first time in three weeks Kurt had a genuine smile on his face as he sat holding Blaine's hand. Blaine wasn't awake, but he wasn't comatose any longer. He turned his head towards Kurt and opened his eyes. "Hey."
"Hey." Kurt said back. "How are you feeling?"
"Weak."
"Um, you were asleep, but your mom and Cooper were here a little while ago." Kurt said brushing curls back from Blaine's face.
"Where'd they go?"
"For food. We've all been eating hospital food for three weeks, Blaine." Kurt smiled.
"I'm sorry." Blaine smiled a half smile at Kurt.
Kurt smiled back and leaned in towards Blaine, "I'm so happy you're okay." He said before kissing him. It had been nearly a month since Kurt felt Blaine's lips on his own. It felt like the first time all over again. The desire and passion behind it. Kurt brought his hand to Blaine's face cupping it; bringing him closer. Kurt pulled away. "I've missed that." He smiled. "Blaine, if you ever do that again I might kill you myself." Kurt chuckled.
Blaine let out a weak laugh. "Got it." He coughed and pointed towards the end table holding a glass of water. "Please."
"Yeah." Kurt mumbled while grabbing the glass and holding it to Blaine's mouth letting him sip from the straw. "Better?"
"Much."
Cooper and Angela walked back into the room. "Squirt!"
"Cooper." Blaine replied. He looked at his mother who was beginning to cry as she stood staring at Blaine lying in the hospital bed. "Mom, I'm okay." Blaine said looking at her and holding out his hand. She walked over and took his hand in her own.
"I'm so happy that you're okay, Blainey." His mother said leaning down to kiss his forehead. Kurt sat in his chair smiling at what was unfolding between Blaine and Angela. "Um…"
She started before looking at Kurt, who was shaking his head telling her not to tell Blaine about anything that happened with his father at the moment. It was too soon. "What?" Blaine asked wondering why she had stopped her thought.
"Nothing. It's not important." She said combing her fingers through his hair. "I love you."
"I love you too, mom." Blaine said. He looked at his mother and brother. "Thank you for being here. I really appreciate it. I love you guys." He then looked at Kurt. He didn't say anything; just looked into his eyes and smiled. "I love you."
Kurt put his hand on Blaine's chest gently rubbing it and brought his hand to Blaine's face caressing it. "I love you too."
Just minutes later Blaine was asleep again. Cooper had to leave for an audition in Los Angeles and Angela had to deal with her husband. "Please, Kurt, don't say anything to Blaine about his father. Let me."
"Of course."
Cooper and Angela both left the hospital, leaving Kurt alone with Blaine. He watched Blaine sleep. His curls free from any product; he had begun to grow a little bit of a beard while he was under. It was cute; of course it wasn't cute two days ago, but it was now. He looked so innocent while sleeping.
Kurt let him sleep for a couple of hours while he went and got food. When he got back, Blaine was sitting up eating his own dinner. "Where'd you go?" He asked as Kurt walked back in.
"Food. I couldn't take another hospital meal. I figured I'd go before you woke up." Kurt told him.
"Kurt, I'm so sorry I ruined Valentine's Day. I wanted it to be perfect for you." He said to Kurt.
"No, I mean it wasn't the best Valentine's Day. But it was better than last year because I had you and you planned this huge thing for me. And even though we didn't get to have our Central Park dinner for two or our night at the Plaza; I still had you." He told him. "You scared me half to death, but I had to have faith that you'd wake up and I'd have you." Blaine smiled at Kurt.
"Like I told you when you were out; I have never been as truly happy as I am with you. You make me happy, Blaine. You make me feel loved and important."
Blaine saw a tear form in Kurt's eye and whipped it away. "You make everything seem okay, Kurt. You make everything okay." He said pull Kurt to the bed so sit down in front of him. "You are my everything. I don't know why I get to call you mine because you're incredible."
With that Kurt leaned into Blaine pressing his lips up against his boyfriend's. Blaine's hand made its way up Kurt's thigh and Kurt's hand made its way up Blaine's chest. They broke their kiss and their foreheads leaned against each other.
Kurt got up off the bed and headed over to the spot where he'd been sleeping for the last three weeks. "What are you doing?"
"I'm tired. For the first time in three weeks I will be able to get a good night's sleep. Knowing that you're okay." Kurt smiled.
"You will not get a good night's sleep there. And I know you; when you don't sleep well you get really grumpy the next morning and no one, not even me, wants to be around you." Blaine told him. "So why don't you come on over here and sleep next to me?" Blaine said shifting in bed.
"Blaine, you just got out of a coma. I think I can spend one night over here." Kurt said.
"But you've been sleeping there for three weeks right?" Kurt nodded. "So, I want you to come over here so I can hold you." Blaine said lifting up the blanket. "Do it for me not for you."
Kurt smiled and walked over to Blaine. He crawled into bed next to him and put his arms around Blaine's body holding on to him as tightly as he possibly could. Blaine put his arms around Kurt pulling him closer. Kurt rested his head on Blaine's chest. Blaine kissed the top of Kurt's head. "I love you. Goodnight."
Kurt linked his leg in with Blaine's. "Goodnight. I love you too."
