As Mooch and Angel rushed off to gather the alphas, Garth followed the trail Thatch left behind. It would not be easy to get into Thatch's pack unnoticed, but he had to get Lilly back. Not too far off, Lilly was kicking, biting and clawing at the two bears that were taking her to their master's den.

"Thatch! If you don't let me go I'll tear you to bits!" Lilly shouted, trying everything she could to get away, but the bears had a strong grip on her. Thatch looked back behind him. "You know, Lilly, if you don't stop fighting, you will only make the pain worse," he warned, but she kept on.

Back in the Northern pack, Humphrey was with his mother and father, unaware that Lilly had been kidnapped. Right now he was being tested with questions on how to lead a pack.

Terra looked Humphrey over as Clark prepared to ask his son the leadership questions. "Are you ready, Humphrey?" he asked, walking circles around his son.

"Yes, sir," Humphrey said calmly, sitting up straight with his chest puffed out proudly instead of slouching. Humphrey wanted his family to regard him as an alpha and sitting up straight was a good start.

"Alright, what do you do when a fight breaks out among pack members?" Clark asked.

"First off, send in the omegas to break the fight up and find out why the fight started," Humphrey said. "After the fight is over, punish the guilty party or parties for breaking the peace."

Clark and Terra looked at one another and nodded. "Very good, Humphrey," his mother said happily. She then asked him another question.

"What is to be done if a wolf is reported missing?" she said tapping her tail on the den floor.

Humphrey thought for a minute. "Send out groups of four into the surrounding area to search the territory."

"And...?" Terra pressed.

"And..." Humphrey thought for a second, his ears beginning to droop a little. Then his ears perked up when he remembered. "And have the quickest wolves run to the nearby packs to ask them to keep an eye out."

"Good, Humphrey," his father claimed proudly. "You will make pack leader with this sort of training." Humphrey began to feel sick at his stomach for holding back the truth from his parents. Then his hunting training began. Humphrey was able to catch three rabbits, two squirrels and one buck. His mother and father were very glad to see that their son was proving himself, but now the last test was coming and that was combat training. As Humphrey and his family got ready for the last test, Kate came running up. Her breathing was heavy and she was panting.

"Kate, what is it?!" Humphrey asked, with a concerned frown. "Lilly has been kidnapped!" she cried, trying to catch her breath. Humphrey's ears shot up and his eyes widened in shock. "What?! When?!" he gasped.

Kate began to sob, "Just a little while ago."

Humphrey immediately turned to his mother and father. "We must gather the alphas and go get her!" "I agree," his mother replied, but his father frowned.

"Why should we worry about one omega?" Clark asked. "If this rogue wolf wants her, let him keep her." Kate, Humphrey and Terra were all shocked. "That is my sister-in-law you're talking about, dad," Humphrey replied with a growl.

Clark looked at his son and turned his back to him. "I don't care, she is an omega."

"Just an omega?!" Kate snapped, "she is the mate of the future leader of the United packs." Terra looked at her mate, a frown on her face. "Clark, please," she pleaded softly. "She is Humphrey's sister-in-law, that makes her family."

"She will only be a weak omega in my sight... just like all the other omegas in our pack."

"You don't like omegas?" Kate questioned in a bitter tone.

"You're right, Kate..." he replied swiftly, turning his head sharply toward his alpha daughter-in-law. "I don't like omegas at all."

Humphrey began to lose his temper. "Why did you allow my omega friends to enter the pack if you don't like them?" he asked, growling at his father. His father turned and faced him. "You are an alpha, so I don't understand why you even bother helping weaklings like the omegas."

Humphrey suddenly didn't care anymore. Angrily he shouted the truth. "I am not an alpha!" he fumed. "I'm an omega... and I'm proud of it!"

Humphrey's parents were now the ones to be shocked. Their son had withheld the truth from them. Humphrey was afraid that his mother and father would throw him out because he wasn't an alpha like they thought, but his mom's shock turned into a smile.

"Humphrey, to admit that you are an omega shows that you have the bravery to become an alpha," Terra said with enthusiasm. Clark, however, was outraged by this shocking news and everyone could see it.

"You are an omega?!" he shouted. Humphrey felt really scared now.

"Yes," he cringed.

"I want you..." Clark said with a growl, "your friends..." he turned toward the entrance of the den and pointed with his paw out to the outside, "and your mate out of my pack and don't come back... EVER!"

"CLARK!" Terra shouted in defiance to her mate's cruel order. "You have no right to give such an order to our son." Humphrey was glad that his mother was standing up for him and the others, but he was now worried that his father would hurt her.

"I don't want to hear it, Terra," he angrily said to his wife.

"Well, you're going to hear what she has to say," Kate snapped, stepping into the argument.

"Alright, she has a mouth. Lets hear what she has to say."

Terra looked at her mate with remorse as a single tear ran down her cheek. "I can no longer stand the thought of losing our son again... or anyone that cares so much for him that they traveled all this way with him just to come and reunite with us," she said. "If you cast out our son and in-laws just because he is an omega, then this marriage over."

Clark's ears shot up and his eyes grew wide. "What? You're leaving me?" he asked, trying to reason with Terra.

Terra snarled, "You have shown me that you have no love toward our son. You won't help save Lilly and now you think that you can just toss our son out like he is some old scrap bones?"

"Okay, fine, but Angel stays here with us," Clark frowned.

"What us? There is no us anymore, Clark. I lost Zelda and Humphrey those many years and now you want me to abandon my daughter-in-law?"

"Well..." Clark began to say, but Terra, Kate and Humphrey were already leaving him behind in the den.

"Clark, I'm sorry but this is the end," Terra said, looking behind her. Clark stood there, looking at his family leaving him alone to handle the strange pain he felt in heart. "I'm going to help our son, even if you won't." Then she and the others were gone.

Meanwhile, Garth was struggling to find Lilly before Thatch could hurt her. As he pushed his legs to the max, his heart was beating faster than he could remember. His anger was beating deep within him, and nothing was going to stop him from getting his wife back... nothing at all.

Mooch and Angel had finished gathering the alphas and the omegas for the rescue mission and were ready to follow. Mooch was worried about Angel wanting to come along when she still needed to heal from the attack by Thatch.

"Angel, I want you to stay here while I go with the others. Can you do that for me?" he asked, almost in a demanding tone. Angel nodded in agreement, but she wanted to share something with him before he left. Angel slowly moved her face toward his and kissed him gently on the cheek.

"Mooch, I want you to come back to me alive," she said, giving him another kiss on the other cheek.

"I will," Mooch said, giving her a reassuring smile. "Angel, will you become my mate?" he asked softly, hoping that his dream of becoming mates with a lovely alpha would come true. Angel answered him in the best way she could.

"Yes," she said, as their lips met in a kiss that sent sparks flying through their bodies. When the kiss ended, Mooch left her with the pack's elderly and infants, and as he crossed over the hill toward Thatch's territory she cried out to him.

"Mooch, I love you."

"I love you too, Angel," he replied and then all was quiet.
