Don't hate me is all I can say.
"How did you let my son con you out of twenty dollars?" Olivia asked as she was looking through her suitcase for an outfit. Brian wanted them to have a date night, and she was all for it except she didn't pack for any romantic nights. Well, not any nights that involved clothes.
"Because I didn't know he was an olympic champ in building sand castles. His is still out there standing."
Olivia chuckled as she settled for a black maxi dress that was tight fitting, and showed off all her curves. "And what would you have gotten if you won?"
Brian stood up from the bed and smirked. "A whole weekend, child free, with my beautiful girlfriend." He said with a smile on his face as he wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. "I'm really disappointed I didn't win." He kissed her bare shoulder and let his lips linger there for a moment.
Olivia turned around with a smile on her face. "You lost with me as your grand prize? That's tragic."
"Oh, I can still have you whenever, just have to be a little quiet and sneaky."
"We're not teenagers." She said with an eyeroll.
"But you're very horny like one." He said chuckling.
"I am not! I just have an itch that you so happen be good at scratching." She said with a certain twinkle in her eye.
"You know I wanted to woo you before I got you in bed tonight, but you're making that really hard." He whispered in her ear.
"Who said I wanted to be wooed?" She bit back.
"Liv." He growled in her ear and gripped her hips.
She chuckled at his eagerness. "I promise I'm all yours after you feed me."
"I have another meal in mind." He said as his hands moved to her butt and he brought her closer.
"As much as you would enjoy that, I don't think that'll be able to feed me."
He bit at her ear before he let her go. "Let's go."
Olivia chuckled. "I have to get dressed first. Go check on the kids and make sure they're okay."
"Only because I want to, and not because you told me." He said before he walked out of the room. He walked into the living room to see Jade flipping through the channels, while Calvin laid on the couch on his phone. "We're going to be leaving in a few minutes. We won't be gone for long, though. You guys be good, and don't throw any parties, especially you Jade." He smiled.
She giggled. "Silly, daddy!"
"I promise no parties, but can Abby come over?"
Brian raised an eyebrow. "Who is Abby and how is she getting here and home?"
Calvin sat up and nervously smiled. "She's this girl that I like, and her parents are staying in a beach house. She's only a few minutes away."
"I don't know how I feel about you having your girlfriend over when we're not here."
"Oh, c'mon, Coach. Jade is here so I won't do anything." He said in it a pleading tone.
"Ask your mom." Brian said just as Olivia was walking out of the bedroom.
"Ask me what?" She asked completely blindsided.
"Nothing." He said and laid back down. "Nothing at all."
Olivia crossed her arms and walked closer to the couch. "Tell me."
"I just want Abby to come over, but Brian told me to ask you."
"Who is Abby?"
"His gulfwiend." Jade answered with a smile on her face.
Olivia smiled. "You want me to let your girlfriend come over unsupervised? Is her parents okay with this?"
"Her parents are doing what you guys are doing, going out. Their only rules was to not get in any trouble."
Olivia was silent as she thought a moment. "Fine. She can come over, under two conditions. Jade must be in the room with you guys at all time, and you must stay in the living room."
Calvin had the biggest grin on his face as he texted Abby that she could come over. "Thanks, mom! I love you."
Olivia playfully rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Love you, too."
No more than ten minutes later, Abby was standing in the living room.
"Mom, Brian, this is Abby. Abby, this is my mom and her boyfriend." Calvin said slightly nervous.
"Hello." Abby waved with a smile on her face. She was about the same height as Calvin, shoulder length brunette hair, and she wore glasses.
"Are you sure your parents are okay with this?" Olivia asked.
"Yes, but I can call them if you'll like." She said already pulling out her phone.
When she suggested calling her parents herself, Olivia knew she wasn't lying but thought it was odd that they let her out with a boy that they've probably never met. "That won't be necessary. No need to bother them on their date. You two keep your hands to yourself. Princess Jade will be giving us a full report of the night." She nicely smiled.
"Mom, we know. You don't want to be late for your date." Calvin whined. He just wanted Olivia and Brian gone as soon as possible.
Olivia slightly chuckled. "I've been kicked out of better places. Don't do anything you wouldn't do if I were here."
"So, you really trust him?" Brian asked as him and Olivia was walking on the beach.
"I have to. I also have to trust that for the last fourteen months he's been with me, that he knows right from wrong. But I do know I lucked up with an easy teenager, so I'm not worried."
Brian nodded. He understood what she meant. She had faith in her parenting skills, and that's all that she could rely on. "Sometimes I wonder how Jade is going to turn out. Is she going to be one of the teens that's always in trouble, or one of the easy ones like Calvin?"
Olivia stopped walking and turned to look at him. "Just enjoy how things are now. She's your princess that's still madly in love with you. You're doing your best as a dad, and that's all you can do. I know what's it like to imagine how you kids are going to grow up. I did it all the time, and I still do it, you know just in case I ever do get pregnant. My genes are half rapist half drunk, and it scares the hell out of me to know what I could be passing on."
"It's scary to not know what the future holds. Being a single dad is tougher than I thought, but I love Jade to death. I could never imagine my life without her, but sometimes I wonder is that good enough."
"Your best is good enough. Jade is the happiest child I've seen, and it's because of you. Don't doubt your parenting skills. Hell, you're even a great father figure to Calvin, and I can never repay you for that. Calvin's parents are drug addicts, and he's the sweetest kid."
"You're right, I just can't but to wonder about the future sometimes."
And she understood what he meant because that's all she did. "Let's promise right here that we won't stress over the future, and just trust that we raised good kids."

Brian and Olivia ended up at a small restaurant on the shore.
"I have a serious question for you." Brian said breaking the comfortable silence between the two of them.
"Go ahead." Olivia said calmly even though she just felt her stomach flipped. Anytime someone said that phrase to her, it never ended well.
"Where do you see yourself in the next five years or so?"
She sighed. It was just a future question. She shrugged. "Married, maybe with another kid, become a sergeant, and finally can say I've been to Paris. What about you?"
"Same, except become a principal."
She nodded and took a sip of her wine. It was another silence between them.
"Do you see me in your five year plan?" Brian asked. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable with his questions, but when he imagined his future, he saw Olivia with him the entire way, and it would hurt if she didn't feel the same way.
A part of her wanted to say yes, because she wouldn't mind spending the rest of her life with Brian, but another part of her didn't know because everything was still so new and fresh with them. She didn't what the future could hold. "I'm hoping."
He softly smiled. "I know it's really soon, but there's just something about you, Liv. I'm hoping I can spend the rest of my life with you too."
She softly smiled. "It's nice to be on the same page with the person you're in a relationship with."
"It is. Do you imagine our future together? And don't be ashamed, because I sometimes do."
And that's when she felt it. She just fell for him just a little bit more. He was almost too good to be true. Their relationship was almost too good to be true. "Yeah, I do. It's a nice feeling. What do you imagine?"
He nervously chuckled and leaned back in his chair. "Ya know, the usual stuff. How our kid would look, what neighborhood would we live in, what tropical place we'll escape to during retirement."
"Brown hair, brown eyes, kind of tall, Manhattan, and The Bahamas."
He laughed. "I see you have it all figured out. I can't get you out of the city, though?"
She shook her head. "Never. It's in my blood."
"C'mon, the 'burbs aren't that bad. I turned out fine."
She laughed. "You're not the best poster boy for the 'burbs. How about we have this conversation if and when we get there."
"Fine, but you'll get tired of the hustle and bustle of the city one day."
It was the next morning, and the four of them were sitting around the table, eating breakfast when Olivia's phone rang. She saw Cragen's number and sighed. She was on a vacation, so if he was calling her, something bad had to happen. "Sorry, guys." She said as she got up from the table to answer her phone. "Benson."
"How fast can you get to the hospital?"
She could hear him putting on his jacket and rushing out of his office, and it made her wonder what the hell was going on. "Cap, unless this is an emerg-"
He cut her off. "It's Elliot."
