"Do we just, uh, step in?" Rick asked.

"Yes. Now come on you two." Martha gestured pushing them forward.

Kate's parents' room left wall had transformed into something neither of the teens could understand. It was like a whole new space. Kate was still, blinking blankly at the wall.

"Kate, come on." Rick snapped her out of her thoughts holding his hand out for her to reach.

The glass door spun around them as Kate gripped Rick's hand. Rick noticed and smiled at their locked fingers. The smiled then of course wiped away because the elevator plunged them through a 100 feet drop and turns occasionally. When the doors opened to the two pairs of eyes, Rick was still wide-eyed shocked as in Kate blinked blankly into the open. The 4-feet species glided around on hover boards to different stations busily speaking into their mini mic. The dome shape building had a huge hologram displayed smack in the middle with the super's logo. A giant pencil with fiery red and ghostly white stripes thickly black outlined. Further down was the training center and cafeteria. To the left, were the dorms and to the right was a huge office where the captain stayed. The five stepped off the elevator along with many other from the row of glass doors.

"What is this place?" Rick asked, fascinated.

"Mom, why didn't you ever bring me here?" Kate added.

Johanna laughed and placed her hand on Kate's shoulders, "Long story sweetie."

"Very long." Jim stated.

"I'll take the short one." Kate absent-mindedly retorted.

A voice in the distance caught the attention of the two. "Welcome to the Headquarters, Kate and Rick."

The two of them stared at each other blankly. "Who said that?"

"I did." Montgomery replied as he made his appearance.

"And who are you may I ask?" Kate stepped up dragging Rick's hand.

"Captain Montgomery. Captain or Sir to you guys. I run this dome for supers and it is so lovely to finally meet the children of our most respected agents."

"Hi there Captain. Nice to meet you sir." Rick smiled.

"Nice to meet you too, sir. Wait, just before, did you say most respected agents?" Kate asked turning her head to face the parents, glaring.

"Yes I certainly did. Jim, Johanna, and Martha you can go follow up on some tasks." He said turning to the three adults as they scattered into the dome. "Now I shall show you to the dorms you will be staying in temporarily while training."

Kate grabbed Rick's hand and pulled him into her dorm and slammed the door shut.

Captain Montgomery issued them to dorms with some kids around their age, girl with girls and boys with boys, but explained to them that at the moment, they were at the training center and will be back soon to greet them and then have dinner. He also provided each of them an orange training suit and stated for the period of time while they train, their parents will not see them very much, which cause Kate to feel slightly hurt.

"Rick, they are RESPECTED AGENTS! And we are just some hopeless kids. What the fuck happened? Just a few days ago, we had normal teenage lives. We were NORMAL!" Kate ranted.

"Look. Kate, things change. And right now we are in danger. We can't go back now. The least we can do for our parents is to train our asses off and be ready for whatever the people throw us into." Rick soothed his only friend right now. "And maybe we won't be a hopeless tag team."

A tiny smiled curled up, but fell. "I'm not ready for this, after what happen at the beach, no. I don't want to do this, Rick." She whispered as she crashed her body with his, just as the door of the dorm begin to open.

"Whoa. Uh. Hello there, am I interrupting something?" The girl with a dark skin colour and about a hand shorter than Kate spoke.

Rick and Kate immediately flew apart straightening themselves quickly and quite awkwardly. Rick broke the silence clearing his throat. "I should probably go, uh see ya Kate." Giving her a light kiss on her cheek as he brushed pass the other girl to the door.

"I'll find you later, okay?" Kate shouted.

"Yeah." he replied as he slammed the door shut.

"Girl, is that your boyfriend? Cause damn, he is so fine!" The darker skinned girl sassed.

"Uh, no. We're just really close." Kate answered blushing, feeling a tingle creep up.

"Well, I don't believe that whatsoever. Do you the way he looks at you? Anyways. Hi. I'm Lanie, shape shifter." Lanie greeted Kate.

"Kate, and I really don't know exactly what I can do."

Lanie chuckled as headed into the bathroom to remove her navy blue training suit and into more comfortable clothing. "We'll see tomorrow then."

Another girl walked through the door. "Lanie, I heard we have a new roommate? Is she here yet?"

The girl was about the same height as Lanie with blonde hair and was also wearing a navy training suit. "Yeah Jenny. She's here and has a hot boyfriend too."

"LANIE. HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND." Kate stated, blushing furiously

"Hi, I'm Jenny, healing priest." Jenny greeted the brunette.

Kate chuckled. "Kate, and again, like I said to Lanie here, I don't know what I am."

Rick released the air that was trapped within his lungs after the door shut. He shook his head and jogged back towards his dorm. When he had arrived, almost missing his door, two boys greeted him, both a tad bit shorter than Rick.

The Irish boy shouted, "Hey, I'm Kevin, but most call me Ryan and meet my bro," he began to yank his Cuban buddy over by his suit, "Espo."

"Yo, Javier or Espo as you know."

"Uh, I'm Rick, only Rick." Rick smirked, already knowing these guys are going to be awesome.

"Oh, I'm a Paladin." Ryan added.

"And I'm a Copier." Espo coolly declared.

Rick laughed, "Copier?"

"Yeah bro, or a mimic people say. I use other's powers during battle."

"That's wicked. Can you demonstrated stealing mine?"

"Ah, tomorrow. We aren't allowed to use our powers out the training dome in this facility."

"They won't find out." Rick whined.

Espo and Ryan gave him disapproving looks.

"Well, the captain always does." Ryan bluntly retorted.

"Sad, I wanted to see."

"Tomorrow impatient. Now let's meet the chicas for dinner." Espo said as he opened the dorm room door into the hallway.

Trainees were lining up in the cafeteria and picking out their meals for the night. Rick spotted Kate on the other side and nudge Espo. The boys made their way over to the girls and greeted each other. Javier and Kevin chose lasagne; Jenny, Lanie, and Kate chose salads and Rick chose sweet and sour chicken with rice. After collecting their food, the six found a table fairly quick and dug into their food making small chat amongst themselves.

"Hey! We should totally give you two a tour of this place after desserts! What do you say?" Jenny beamed.

"Yeah, that's great." Rick replied and Kate nodded in agreement finishing the last bit of her dessert.

"Alright I'm ready." Espo and Ryan exclaimed as they dropped their forks onto their dish.

Lanie added, "Mhmm, me too."

"And lastly, this is the training center." Lanie pointed, "Do you two know the levels?"

"No." The two new supers replied at the same time looking at each other. Kate blushed.

"You guys are just too cute," Lanie cheered then went serious again, "Anyways, the four of us here are Elite Trainees. We go on missions and work in the field, but we are taking a bit of time off at the moment. I've trained here since I was five along with Javi, Kev, and Jenny. We went on our first mission last year. So that's when we went from being grey beginners to the Elites. You guys received orange suits, right?"

"Yeah. Weird?" Rick answered scratching his head.

"Nah, it's just very few get those. It's like a fast pass in training, you train way more than usual trainees and have access to the center for an extra 5 hours. All I can say is good luck."

"From what I've seen bro, its tough shit." Espo added.

Rick held Kate's hand as they looked through the invincible glass window leading to a row of spikes and swinging daggers.
