Blood Runs Dry

Chapter 10

Sasuke and kirito made their way to Eren and Naruto's location. "I'm getting a bad vibe" said Kirito. Which earned him a nod from Sasuke "they're too quiet something must be wrong...Come on we have to hurry!" said Sasuke while increasing his speed. "hey Sasuke slow down a bit!" yelled out kirito, but he was to late. 'I'll have to go faster!'

Activating his sharingan; Sasuke channeled his chakra into his feet, and then he began to dash faster and faster with each dash. Sasuke was on a roll. He continuously duck and dodged mutiple tree branches. Sasuke sensed naruto and eren a few meter ahead, but that only made him quicken his pace. Arriving at his destination he froze at the sight in front of him.

There stood a bloody Eren with a lifeless arm dangling while he held his 3d gear's sword in his other hand. What shocked Sasuke the most was the fact that an even more damaged naruto sat against a tree. Naruto's body was full of blood, if it wasn't for Sasuke's sharingan he would've presumed naruto to be dead. "you damn bastard this is...Thiisss is ALL YOUR FAULT!" shouted Eren with venom towards the giant spider.

"Eren." Hearing his name Eren turned and made eye contact with Sasuke. A smirk appeared on his face "thank god someone made it." said Eren then suddenly kirito appeared "damn it... huh huh...how the hell can you move so fast" Said a breathless kirito. Before kirito to could say anything else he was interrupted by a roar that came from the spider. "OHH GOD WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!" screamed kirito at the top of his lungs. His face was even red from having to use so much volume in his voice. "that's our enemy" said sasuke "and judging by the fact that naruto is down like this" sasuke paused and looked at the blonde haired ninja. "this only means that we might die here. "to hell with dying!...I refuse to take my death here." said Eren with pride and assurance in his voice. "I agree...there are goals that I haven't completed and I won't die here without completing them." said kirito with unrestrained determination. Sasuke simply nodded "seeing that you two are so determined. I say we take this thing down then" said a smirking sasuke. Eren and Kirito simply nodded, and with that all three rushed in to battle.

Kirito drew his elucidator and rushed in under the spider. With a powerful upward thrust kirito managed to plant his sword into the spider. Which led the spider to let out a shrieking roar of pain. Kirito then proceeded to run forward with his sword still planted in the enormous arachnid. But kirito struggled to move forward "damn this thing's skin is hard" with a mighty yell kirito began to move forward, but the ground under him began to cave in. Which resulted in him falling over but of course kirito was no slacker when it came to getting out of dodgy situations. In one swift motion kirito pulled out his sword and rush out from under the spider.

Meanwhile Eren began to cut at it's legs, and he was rewarded when one of the spider's limbs came off. "Jeez finally...I was hacking at thing for so long." "Fire style: Great fire ball jutsu!" That was all Eren and Kirito heard when suddenly a huge fire ball flew passed them, and engulfed the spider in flames. "hn that should of taken care of him." said sasuke confidently. But their efforts were futile due to the being stricken by webs. The webs came at unimaginable force and hit all three of them, and of course that led to them being stuck with the thick webs suppressing them from moving anywhere. 'we're totally screwed there is no way out of this.'

(In naruto's mind)

"HEY! SHINIGAMI! WHERE ARE YOU DAMMIT!" Naruto yelled out. Abruptly the shinigami appeared in front of naruto. His black flaming hood fluttering violently. "what is it that you seek from me Uzumaki." naruto gulped 'hope I didn't piss him off.' " well I was hoping that maybe you can return my chakra back to me I can't fight to well without it and also why am I the only one without chakra." said naruto

"the reason why you don't have chakra is because when you slipped into the void your body began to deteriorate which led to your chakra coils being destroyed beyond repair. Of course I could repair them but there is a price you must pay" said the shinigami. Naruto wasn't to happy about having to pay any price for his chakra. ' jeez what the hell is was born with chakra and now I have to pay to get it back. Man this guy is a rip off' thought naruto. "you do know I can here your thoughts right?"

Naruto turned pale in an instant "uhh sorry about that hehe" the shinigami simply smirked. "well name your price shinigami" said naruto. The shinigami nodded "I simply want a powerful soul." Naruto nodded and unsealed a special scroll "I didn't want to use this for such a simple reason like this but I guess it can't be helped right"

with that said naruto held a ball shaped flame that was red with a mixture of black in it. The shinigami's eyes widened "how did you get such a soul" said an utterly shocked shinigami.

"I killed the akatsuki leader who ended up being the real madara uchiha" said naruto with a ton of pride. The shinigami was indeed truly happy today was the day he was gonna finally reap Madara Uchiha's soul. "we have a deal uzumaki...one madara uchiha's soul for your chakra" said the shinigami. With that stated the exchange took place, and in a instant naruto felt his chakra coursing through him. His wounds began to heal.

Out of naruto's mind

By now both Sakura and Lightning caught up to the others and joined the battle. They were suddenly interrupted when they felt an extraordinary amount of energy spiking. All of them turned their heads in the direction where naruto was at. Their eyes widened in shock due to the blonde's body being covered in steam. Slowly naruto began to rise on his feet. He held a assertive smirk upon his face. He the looked towards the spider "hn I am gonna kick your ass" he said darkly which made everyone shiver. Even the spider's hairs stood up. Naruto suddenly disappeared from sight only to reappear above the spider charging up his lightning rasengan "arrrrrghh!" roared naruto as he trusted straight through the spider's back and then from under the eight legged giant naruto delivered a powerful punch sending the spider through the trees high into the air. He then released a huge amount of chakra while channeling his lightning element into it which cause the chakra to become visible to the naked eye.

Everyone gasped when his chakra turned to physical lightning. Grabbing his chakra into his hand he threw it into the sky and began to channel more. His chakra was causing the ground to shake violently. Naruto then chuckled "you bastard" "Lightning style: Centuries Cry!" suddenly hundred of lightning strikes were herd, and each one hit the airborne spider. Naruto raised his hands towards the sky and began to laugh out dementedly while strikes of lightning pierced the ground around the group. And just like it came the lightning strikes stopped. Naruto looked at his hands with a twisted smirk, and then he clenched his hands shut tightly and began laughing again. The group flinched at the tone in his laughter.

Sakura began to heal Eren's injured arm. 'you son of a bitch don't think I forgot what did...Just wait till this arm is healed.' Quickly rushing after having his arm healed eren dashed at naruto, his hand cocked back. Everyone was caught by surprise. Naruto turned around and made impact with eren's fist. A wide eyed sakura looked at sasuke, but sasuke simply nodded. Naruto looked at eren with a angry visage "hn" was all naruto said before throwing a punch so fast that the impact of the punch was herd seconds later. Sasuke stepped in between the two. "that's enough naruto" said sasuke. Eren was in so much pain 'this more painful then the time I was eaten by that titan.' There sat eren in a pool of his blood, his nose was completely broken. Sakura quickly ran over to heal his face. "Dammit naruto stop injuring others please" said an angry sakura. Naruto just looked at sakura "hn whatever...he's the one who attacked me" said naruto while cracking his fingers.

The group decided to move on, hoping they can reach the other side of the forest. There was venomous silence surrounding the group as they progressed onward. The group stumbled in to a clearing that was surrounded by trees with a thick cloud of dust moving towards them. This made the group nervous, as the dust began to fill their eyes and impair their vision.

Sasuke stepped ahead of the group "I'll burn this out of our way." But sasuke failed to notice that Lightning was entirely covered in the strange dust as to the rest of the group that was enveloped partially by the dust. Naruto activated his shinigami no me he vision became clear compared to before. 'what is this strange substance it's not normal dust, in fact it's not even any kind of mist?' As he continued to eye the dust he to notice that the dust's particles were orange. 'my shinigamigan's vision is kinda like infrared vision, but these thing aren't on fire which must mean.'

"sasuke don't use that jut-" was all naruto could say but it was to late as soon as sasuke began to blow the fire ball, the very air they were breathing began to catch on fire. Naruto quickly using shadow clones moved all of the others out, but Lightning was the only one he couldn't grab on time. Instead naruto at godlike speed rushed to Lightning and tackled her roughly. As they flew through the air the fire engulfed the two of them, and sasuke burnt his face, but nothing life threatening as for the rest of the group they were fine. Sakura immediately went to heal sasuke. "what happened to Lightning?" Said sakura with worry in her voice. "last thing I remember was her getting burned and naruto made an attempt to save her" said Kirito. Looking around the group and noticed a large amount of ashes covering the air.

Out far in the other side of the forest stood a highly burned naruto, with an also burned Lightning. Naruto looked at Lightning but turned away making her look at him with disarray. "What?" questioned Lightning, naruto simply pointed toward her. Looking down at herself she blushed violently, the right side of her jacket was burnt off completely, her bra was still intact. Lightning out of embarrassment tried to cover herself, but only winced due to the large gash running across her chest. Her legs were slightly burned, nothing compared to Naruto, his burns were all over his back and his torso. "why did you do it?" questioned Lightning...Naruto looked back at her with a questioning expression "why I'd do what?" said Naruto.

"why'd you save me?" said Lightning as she directed her look at the ground "you were willing to kill me earlier...so what made you risk your life for mine when you knew I was gonna die?" Naruto let out a loud sigh he then looked Lightning dead in the eyes "I took the risk in saving you because I didn't think you deserved to be the only one that couldn't be saved."

Lightning stared at him wide eyed "how can you be the same person that nearly killed me earlier?" naruto simply closed his eyes and began to allow kurama to heal his body. "we have to get back to the group so sakura can heal your wounds" said naruto. Lightning nodded "wait can't you just do what you just did and heal me?" naruto inclined "no that's something my body can do on it's own...I can heal you myself, but it would only cause discomfort for the both of use." This left Lightning with a bewildered expression "is it really that bad I mean we aren't gonna get anywhere with me being injured like this."

"I know that but I'm pretty positive that you would just prefer for sakura to heal you." said naruto, Lightning looked at him "what so bad about it?" she questioned "My saliva has healing properties in it." said naruto simply. It didn't take Lightning long to figure out why he said it would be discomforting. "ohhh I see now" said Lightning, naruto just nodded "so which would you prefer?" questioned Naruto, as Lightning blushed heavily with many thoughts flying in and out her head.

"look I uh I usually wouldn't agree to do something like this...but who knows how long it will take to find the group and these wounds can get infected over time if we take to long to treat them. Then there is the fact that there can be more creatures out there like that spider, and that's a chance we can't take...I also don't want you to fight alone. So I'll let you heal me." said a super flustered Lightning.

Naruto's eyes widened after hearing her response "are you really okay with this? Lightning nodded "yeah I'm sure...you don't seem like a pervert but if you even dare cross the line know that you'll spend the rest of your days in a coma." threatened Lightning. Naruto nodded he gently picked her up and began to walk. "hey I thought you were gonna heal me?"

"I am but first we need to clean your wounds." said naruto as he continued to walk. "how do you know there's water around?" said Lightning, "it's simply...I can smell it." was all Naruto said before they stopped along a small river. Slowly walking into the shallow river Naruto carefully placed Lightning down in the small gentle stream he tore of a piece of cloth from his pants, and drenched it in water. He then proceeded in gently placing the cloth on Lightning's sliced open chest. "hey Lightning can I ask you something?" asked Naruto "yeah I guess" Lightning answered back.

"if this cut went across your boobs and I healed it but it left a scar how would that make you feel?" he said in a low tone. Lightning looked at him, and they both stared into each others soul's. "I would simply look at it and remember this day, and also cherish the fact that I am still alive and it is all because of you" said Lightning with a genuine smile. Naruto began to laugh lightly, it had been five years since he felt like his old self. There was something about Lightning that made him want to be the Naruto that he once was five years ago.

Lightning blushed as Naruto laughed "you know Lightning...girls like you are the ones that are strong...a girl that is willing to live with a scar and look back at it, while being grateful about the events that took place that day...willing to not give up and keep going till the bitter end...to fight for what she believes in. Lightning you have my utmost respect and even if this wound leaves a scar behind it doesn't mean that you aren't beautiful" he said genuinely, as Lightning's face was now the color of a tomato. "thanks" was all she managed. Naruto lowed his head toward her chest so he can begin to heal her. Softly he licked one end of her wound to the other, he didn't miss Lightning wincing in pain.

At first lightning felt a sharp sting but it slowly started to subside. Naruto pull his head back "all done" was all he said. Naruto looked up and noticed that the sun was setting. "okay we are gonna camp out here and tomorrow I'll heal your legs" said Naruto earning him a simple nod from Lightning. Naruto reached into his ninja pouched and pulled out a scroll and unsealed it, summoning a tent. He began to set it up, and after the tent was set up he gently picked Lightning up and placed her inside. "rest in here and I'll stay out here" said naruto as he began to leave the tent, but was stopped by Lightning grabbing his hand. "no you don't have to sleep out there... just stay in here with me" said Lightning as she blushed pink just like her hair. And with that they both fell asleep.

Okay guys so the poll originally ended in a tie between Lightning and Sakura so I chose Lightning to be the main paring. Of course I'll promise to give Sakura he little moments here and there so for those that wanted Sakura to win I'm sorry but I just find Naruto and Lightning a whole lot better together. In a weird way of putting it I feel like the Naruto and Lightning paring is an exotic paring. Like it's rare to see such a good natural paring where both character's original personalities clash with each other but at the same time together they make something special. Well now that that's out of the way it's time to explain somethings.

First is that I chose to make naruto a lightning user instead of wind. But he is capable of using all elements and other abilities that you'll all soon discover.

Second is that I won't be using many original jutsu's

Third is that this entire storyline is mine except for the characters ( Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kirito, Eren Yeager, Lightning and the other naruto universe characters)

Fourth is that the as I stated above the story is mine that includes the universe and style of fighting along with soon to appear characters along with their powers.
