Chapter Ten

Hope

After Quill ate he took me across the town and knocked on the door of a small one story house. A woman answered and grinned. "Come in Quill she is in the living room." She said and not much else she grabbed her handbag and yelled to a husband together they left the house. Clair was sitting on the rug playing with her dolls walking them across the rug and back.

"Hello Clair Bear." Quill said and she looked up from her doll.

"Ill, Ill." She said and ran a childish run, she tripped over a stool and fell. She started to cry but Quill picked her up and swung her onto his shoulders. "I big." She said she was adorable.

"Yes you are, your big." I replied and she clapped her hands in delight.

"I big I big I big." She repeated and Quill laughed tossing her into the air and catching her again. "I fly, I fly I fly."

"Clair bird." I said and she grinned.

"I bird, I bird, I bird." She smiled. "Down, Ill down." She said and Quill put her down.

"Thak Ill." She said smiling. "Watch Tevy." She pointed at the television.

"Yes why not?" I asked and took down a bunch of movies most of them were Disney and rented. I found the fox and the hound and put it into the machine. Clair climbed onto the couch and sat between me and Quill. She clapped her hands in delight and sometime said. "Yea Fox." She continued to be adorable throughout the film and yawned at the end burrowing into Quill. She was soon asleep and Quill looked down at her with the same spark in his eyes that I sometimes see in Paul's when he looks at me. He picked her up and held her in his arms. I took the opportunity to make macaroni and cheese, from a family package. Once I had finished I returned to the living room and saw that Quill had also fallen asleep he was snoring rather loudly his mouth open. He seemed peaceful though. I was surprised that Clair hadn't awoken, but I realized that she was awake.

"Shush, Ill sweeping." She said and I nodded sitting on the couch beside both of them. She giggled as Quill's body racked in snores. She gently kissed him on the cheek a wet toddler's kiss.

"Do you want something to eat?" Again she nodded and I smiled at her. I gently picked her up releasing Quill's hold on her sleep softened but still firm. I then set her down and she ran into the kitchen. I put her into her high chair and gave her a bit of the macaroni. She looked at the noodles for a minute before eating.

"Its good." She said delightedly and clapped her hands. She finished eating and I took some as well leaving a greater portion for Quill once he was awake. When we had walked over I had seen a playground. I got Clair and asked her if she wanted to go to the park and she nodded enthusiastically. I helped her dress in jeans and a denim jacket with a soft shirt. I found her shirt and left a note on Quill's stomach. Gone to park be back soon. Macaroni on stove.

"Lets go Op." She said and I smiled.

"Alright Clair." I replied and got on my own jacket. I then swung her onto my back and clasped onto her legs. "Hang on to my neck." I said and she nodded grasping onto my neck. Together we ran to the park. She laughed in delight. She played on the equipment and I pushed her on the swings after a while. She giggled and clapped her hands in delight. but slowly her laughs faded I looked at her and saw that she had fallen asleep. I took her out of the swing gently she didn't even stir I took her back to the house and saw that Quill was still asleep. I gently put Clair down on the couch and went into the other room grabbing a book. It was about werewolves a teenage story of a werewolf. It was titled Blood and Chocolate. I finished the book in a little under three hours and went back into the room. Quill was awake and staring at Clair.

"Hi Quill." I said. "I took her to the park she must be tired."

"The park? How long was I asleep?"

"About six hours I think, there is some macaroni on the stove if you want to eat something."

"Thanks." He said and came back a moment later with a big bowl filled with pasta.

"This is all so incredible." I said and he somehow knew what I meant he nodded smiling at me.

"It is." He replied and stared down at Clair as if she was the most beautiful person in the world. The same way Paul looked at me sometimes. I suppose to him she was.

We sat in silence for a while completely comfortable eventually Clair woke up and smiled at Quill. "Ill." She said dozily, touching his face gently with her chubby baby fingers. He kissed them and then pulling up her shirt blew a loud raspberry on them. She giggled and patted his hand. She then sat up her hair slightly askew and started to jump on the couch. She then leaped off and hit the rug with the ease of long practice. "Doggy." She said. "Doggy doggy doggy."

"She wants to see my dog." Quill explained then to Clair. "He is at home Clair."

"Okay." She said and climbed on his back, he ran with her on all fours he was running like he was in his wolf form. She laughed happily. "Faster." She said and he ran faster but eventually he slowed down and stopped. I was laughing by then and Clair was delighted. We watched two more movies and Clair fell asleep in Quill's lap around seven. Her mother called at the end credits asking us if we could stay a little longer. I replied that of course we could and hung up.

When I got back Quill had fallen asleep again, he must have been warn out from patrolling last night. Clair was likewise asleep and I covered them both in a light blanket. I then put in another childish movie Beauty and the beast on low and continued to watch it and falling asleep in the house. I was awoken by the opening of a door and blurry looked at Clair's parents. Quill didn't even twitch.

"Hello how was your time together?" I asked and yawned.

"Good, I am going to have another baby." She glowed.

"We had dinner in Port Anglos to celebrate." Clair's father said.

"Congratulations." I told them.

"Thank you."

"I am not sure if you will be able to wake up Quill or not. He was on night watch last night."

"That's alright, he often falls asleep by the time we return, we let him stay here the dear boy." Hope's mother replied. "The way he looks at our Clair is amazing although it was slightly weird for us at first.."

"We have gotten used to it. Do you do the rounds?" Quill's father asked.

"Yes I do." I told them. "Newest to the pack, my name is Hope. I am Paul's imprint, or he is mine either way you look at it is fine."

"Nice to meet you Hope I am sorry that I had not gotten a chance to meet you this morning but we were late and doctors keep others waiting not the other way around." I laughed.

"Very true." I said and laughed again. I gently picked up Clair and handed her to her mother. I then gently laid Quill out on the couch, his snores didn't even change in tempo he was well and truly out of it. I removed his shoes and made it so that his feet hung off the couch not his head. "Can I go home?" I asked.

"Of course." Clair's father replied.

"Thank you for helping with Clair."

"No problem any time." I replied and walked out the door. the night was cool and clear and I enjoyed walking back to Paul's house. He had left the door open for me so I walked into the house and heard Paul snoring. It echoed throughout the house. I smiled and walked into the room. Paul was splayed on the bed half on half off it. His shoes were still on. I gently took them off and picked up my Polly, he snored loudly in my ear his mouth hanging open but I didn't care. I pulled back the covers and put him into bed. I changed into my pajamas and got in next to him. He was so amazing, so incredible, My Polly my Prince.
