I completely forgot about this story, till someone reminded me it's been two years.

Sorry, I had a baby. She's 13 months now so that makes up for some of the time I neglected this story!

Review y'all.

Mitchie sat criss crossed in the middle of her room, books everywhere. She was finishing her studies, listening to Yellow Ostrich fill her room. She finally had a day to relax and ignored her phone. She made plans with her mom that afternoon to take an evening stroll in their acre. Mitchie hummed along as she finished the last equation of her Chemistry homework.

A soft knock interrupted her thoughts as she let out a soft 'come in'.

"Hi, honey. Look dad called me and he needs help down at the office. Can we reschedule tonight?"

Mitchie rolled her eyes and groaned, but nodded her head with defeat.

"Dinner is on the table, I don't know how long it'll take since tomorrow is his grand opening. You're ready for it right?"

"Yes mother, I picked out a reasonable, modest outfit and will be ready by four tomorrow."

"Thank you sweetheart."

"You're welcome."

"I love you."

"I love you the most. Bye."

Connie waved as she closed the door behind her.

Mitchie reached for her phone next to her and looked through the messages. She ignored the ones from her friends back home. Mitchie finally had an epiphany yesterday and decided to make the best of her new living situation and get used to this new hell. No matter where she'll go in life, she's not going to be pleased a hundred percent with it because she always wanted more.

She saw a few from her group of weirdos she calls friends but only replied to Caitlyn's.

'Did you hear about Misty?'

'She went out of line.'

'She's no longer hanging with us. What she did is unforgivable.'

Mitchie rolled her eyes and sighed, typing a quick 'what did she do?' She knew Misty was going to be trouble for Mitchie to get along with. She just wasn't as friendly and almost reeked of jealousy. She just put up with it because she had no other friends.

Motchie felt her phone vibrate in her hands as she read the message, her heart started to pump faster, rage almost took over her. But she quickly remembered stress wrinkles were not cute and she instantly did a breathing exercise she learned during a Pilates class.

Mitchie decided to not let it get the best of her. She's dealt with worse.

The next morning, Mitchie three on a quarter sleeve, stripped shirt with her old worn out jean jacket, with her skinny military green pants. She searched through her shoe closet for her barely worn white converse. She decided to dress down, if she wanted to fit in, she'll do it. With better style but she won't be wearing her new Prada shoes any time soon.

She grabbed her phone and messenger bag from her desk and made her way downstairs. She grabbed a bagel and water on her way out, as Caitlyn was there to give her a ride that morning.

"Good morning." Mitchie said.

"This is the most dressed down I've seen you since I've met you."

The girls shared a laugh as Caity cleared her throat, "so what are you going to do about the post Misty put up?"

Mitchie purses her lips, "nothing."

"But she called you out as a tease who wants to test out different guys before you give away your v-card."

Motchie shrugged, "I don't get why my virginity is a big deal. It's mine and I get to do what I want with it."

"it's just rare around this small town. If you're not saving yourself for marriage you're doing it by the end of the month of dating someone. I don't know why, but it's rare when girls keep it in their pants."

"I've dealt with worse. I dealt with a new rumor almost every day. If she posted my number on a fake scavenger hunt for a suitable bachelor, then that's child's play."

Caitlyn nodded her head, "I'm still sorry for what you're going to go through. The girls here already don't like you and the guys are going to be pigs."

"Nothing I haven't dealt with before." Mitchie said as Caitlyn parked in her usual spot.

"Ready?" Caitlyn asked with a raised eyebrow.

Mitchie rolled her eyes and opened the door. She didn't know how bad it would be, but as soon as she stepped out she knew the damage was done. Damage beyond repair.

She could handle the whispers and gasps when it came from envious people, but when they were making fun of her acting like her virginity is some sort of defect and calling her a tease was beyond horrible. But she was good at hiding her expressions.

Inside the school Shane was ignoring Sander. Blah, blah, blah, virginity, blah, blah, poll on the highest bidder.

"Dude, do you ever shut up?" Shane asked abruptly.

"Have you been listening to any of the talk lately?"

"No, I've been focusing on covering my ass in chemistry."

"Dude, there's a virginity auction going on for the new girl's virginity."

Shane's hair in the back of his neck rose, his anger started to build. Did he hear his best friend correct?

"What do you mean?"

"Mitchie's a virgin. Misty told the whole school and the guys took it upon themselves to make a bet to see who can take it. Misty claims she's a cock tease. And is waiting for someone to take it finally."

"That's the dumbest thing I've heard all year." Shane said as he closed his locker and walked towards his first class.

He couldn't believe a girl like Mitchie was pure. The kind of pure that is rare in his small town. Girls did it with just about anyone now and days. Shane was certain that Misty had everything to do with what's going to come. This was the calm before the storm.

As lunch rolled around Mitchie was ready to go home, the notes and threats people shoved into her locker were becoming too much. This school really knew how to hold onto the hottest gossip and go with it. It was draining her.

"Are you okay?" Chris asked.

"Shouldn't you be chasing your big mouthed girlfriend?" Mitchie snapped.

She had enough of the bullshit. She was done.

"I'm-"

"Save it. I'm done with today. I gotta go to the bathroom." Mitchie said, hormones taking over and felt her eyes become blurry with tears.

Mitchie didn't cry. And if she did it was only when she was behind closed doors, watching Definitely, Maybe, eating her week carbs in a bucket of ice cream.

As she walked through the cafeteria she heard the girls giggle and the guys holler. She wanted more than anything for someone else to be the talk of the town.

Not really watching where she was going she ran right into the all the familiar giant that saved her ass from being arrested.

"Woah, I'm sorry." Shane apologized. He stepped back and saw the same two tones hair. Her head was done and he could hear the sniffles coming from her.

"Are you okay?"

"I wish people would stop fucking asking me if I'm okay. I'm not okay. Alright. There I fucking said it. I'm not okay. I'm tired of people talking about me like I'm some sort of trophy or slut. I haven't done shit to them and I didn't even know someone with a hymen can cause so much mayhem. I'm just ready for some sleazy cheerleader to come out with her teenage pregnancy so I'm not the talk of the day."

"Welcome to hell." Shane said after a couple of minutes of silence.

He took a good look at her and he thought he was screwed before but seeing her messy face, full of dried tears he knew deep down her bratty attitude is a big hearted, sensitive girl.

And he knew he wanted more of this side of her.

"What are you doing in the halls anyway? It's lunch time."

"I was in chem, trying to sign up so I can get tutored but all the time slots with my availability are taken. So now I'm fucked. I just got to study harder and do it on my own."

"I can help you." Mitchie almost swallowed the words as they came up.

They were both equally shocked at her offer.

"Can you do weekdays after 6pm? I know it's a little late-"

"6:30 okay with you?"

"Perfect."

"You got yourself a tutor."

"You got yourself a friend."

"Thanks. I really need some of those right now."

"Maybe you shouldn't be so bitchy?" Shane said in a hushed tone. He didn't want to ruin their easy going conversation but he also didn't want to bite his tongue.

"If these bitches would find a hobby then I wouldn't be so cruel. And you boys need to get better game. It's horrible."

They laughed as Shane picked up his backpack from the ground and motioned to walk towards the cafeteria.

Mitchie thanked him again for saving her and Shane told her she owed him one but tutoring would be enough payback.

They went there separate ways when they walked in together, people stopped and stared at what they were going to do next.

When Mitchie waved goodbye, everyone started a new mass text about Mitchie and Shane having a quickie and that the auction was over.

As Mitchie sat down she heard her friends' phones all go off at the same time.

"Dude, people are obsessed with you." Caitlyn said as she showed Mitchie the text message.

She rolled her eyes and stabbed her salad with her fork.

Was today over yet?
