Chapter 10

Percy's POV:

Four months later…

The house was actually built faster than both either Annabeth and I had expected, although I think that may have to do with the fact that I actually paid the building company a lot to have this place done by the time the baby comes around.

I was looking at what was going to be the nursery once we had all the furniture moved in. It was a nice light blue colour, as I didn't want to know what the gender of the baby was, and the light blue went with both genders. Though Annabeth really wanted to know what the gender was, as she loves to have her plans set out and everything, I had finally convinced her that the gender was something that should be left a surprise until the baby arrived.

So, with this lack of information, most of the baby furniture we bought was white. I had left it up to Annabeth to pick out all the furniture, as that was her department. The furniture was due to arrive in the next coming week or so, and we were really excited for that, because once the furniture arrived, Annabeth could move out of Thalia's house, and I could get out of my parents' apartment.

The relationship Annabeth and I had developed was actually going really well, and I was really hoping that it did end up lasting, because, I don't know, she's different somehow from all the other girls I've dated. And I know every guy says that when he starts dating a girl, but I actually did feel like that with her.

Annabeth came up and wrapped her arms around my waist from behind, which surprised me a little.

"Hey, aren't you supposed to be studying for finals?" I asked.

"Yes, I am, but I wanted to come have a look at our amazing new house."

"Haven't you seen this place like a gazillion times, though, babe?"

"Yes, I have, but it's still scary, you know, just knowing in around two months I'm going to be a mother, and I have a huge house built. One that I designed. And I know this is a long way away, but in four years' time, I'll be graduating University and become a full time Architect. It's just so scary how fast this is all going, you know what I mean?" she said.

"Yeah, babe, I actually know exactly what you mean; I remember feeling like this the first time I enter the Olympic Games, and then that day I found out that you were pregnant with my child. It was scary knowing that I was going to be a father. I mean, in all my life, I've only met my Dad a couple of times, so I don't exactly have any background experience."

She smiled at my response. "Anyway, Percy, I've nearly finished all my studying, and finals are next week, so I'll study some more later tonight."

I nodded. "All right; as long as you ace those exams, I'll be really happy for you."

I turned around and kissed her nose. Then I bent down and kissed her bloated stomach.

"Hey, baby, it's Daddy again. Just thought I'd let you know that the house is now built and we're just waiting for some furniture to arrive. Then we'll all be moved in together, and be waiting for you to arrive," I rambled on to another one of many talks I had with Annabeth's uterus.

"You know, Percy, I've been thinking of names for Baby, and I wanted to know what you thought of them," Annabeth said.

I stood up. "All right, go ahead."

"Okay, I was thinking if it was a girl, Sophia Maree Jackson, Sophie for short, and if it was a boy, Alexander James Jackson, and we could call him Alex for short, so that way when we say their full name, they know they're definitely in trouble, like you and the name Perseus."

I smiled at this.

"You know what, I actually love those names, and I'm glad I convinced you on doing Jackson, not Chase-Jackson or Jackson-Chase, for Baby, whichever one it was, because to be honest I think those just sound absolutely ridiculous and stupid," I told her.

Anyway, maybe one day, there would have been no need to call Baby Chase-Jackson, because Annabeth might be a Jackson, but I didn't say that.

"Hey, why don't we go out tonight? You know we could get a fancy dinner and everything. Anyway, I think you deserve it. I mean, you have been studying for these finals for weeks now. I think you deserve a night out," I told her.

"I can't, Percy. I need to get the best grades I can on these my finals. How about you just come over to mine and Thal's, and we can have takeout, because to be honest, I don't really want to go out tonight," she told me, then went on her toes and pecked me on the lips.

"Yeah I guess we could do that"

When we got back, we walked in on Thalia straddling Luke's lap. They were just making out, but it still gave us a bit of a shock.

"Oh my God, Thals! Please, if you're going to do that kind of stuff, please go do it in the bedroom. It's not nice to walk in on!" Annabeth exclaimed at the both of them.

Thalia quickly got off Luke's lap and both of them were blushing a deep shade of red. "We've walked into you two making out in all kinds of positions, and trust me, it's not nice."

"Well, I'm sorry; I thought you guys would be out later than this, and usually when no one else is at home, you do these kinds of things. I'm sure you and Kelp Head do all sorts of things when I'm not here," Thalia said to her, still blushing deeply.

"Okay, Thals, it's not any of your business what Percy and I get up to. Just please do it in the bedroom, is all I'm asking," Annabeth said, "Yes, mother. I'll do whatever you say." Thalia said and I saw Annabeth roll her eyes.

"Okay, how about you and Luke go and continue whatever the both of you were doing on the couch in your bedroom?" Annabeth suggested.

"Nah, you two ruined the mood, I'm afraid. Maybe next time," Luke said.

"Anyway, we're gonna go order takeout; what do you guys think of having Chinese for dinner?" I asked. Everyone nodded.

Annabeth waddled into her bedroom after I ordered takeout for the four of us, and I followed her. When she entered she was staring around in wonder.

"You know, Percy, about two years ago. Thalia and I moved in here, and let me tell you, there was no way I would have believed anyone if they had told me that in two years' time, I would be heavily pregnant with my best friend's cousin's baby," she said.

"Whoa, that was a big mouthful there. It sort of sounds like you're describing a person in your excuse as to why you haven't handed in your homework on time."

She chuckled.

My phone had started to ring, so I picked it up and saw a name I always dreaded to see on my phone.

"Fuck!" I cursed and I quickly declined the phone call.

"What, what's wrong, Percy?" Annabeth said. She sounded really concerned.

"Well, did I, like, ever tell you about my ex, Callie?" I asked her.

"Uh, no, you didn't tell me anything about a girl named Callie. But Thalia told me about her a few months ago. She was really clingy and you dated her for several years."

"Yeah, well, Callie never got over the fact that I dumped her, but then again she cheated on me with some guy named Leo or Leon, something like that. Anyway, she's the reason I've had to change my phone number a bunch of times, and it looks like she found out what it was once again," I said.

"Uh, Percy, have you ever, like, maybe... has the thought crossed your mind to turn her in to the cops?"

"Well, actually, it has, but they told me when you become famous, they can't do anything about it. They said, and I quote, 'You signed yourself up for this kind of stuff, so unless she's actually abusing you, we can't really do anything about it, kid'."

"Oh, my God, that is absolutely horrible.I can't believe they actually told you that. It's just not right."

"I couldn't agree more, but that's what they said."

She stayed quiet for a moment, then came over and kissed me gently. I kissed her back while holding her large stomach, which could make kissing a bit awkward.

"Hey babe, I thought you were supposed to be studying for finals," I said.

"Just ruin the moment, won't you?" She laughed.

"Well, I'll tell you something. It's weird doing it with you having a stomach so large.

She smiled.

"Hey, lovebirds, the Chinese is here!" Thalia shouted through the door.

"Come on. We should probably go eat before our food goes cold," Annabeth said.

"Yeah, we probably actually should." I followed her out the door.

I'm so happy, school ends in 5 days.

I don't know when I'll be updating next, but until then,
