Duel Monster World Dragon's Duel Puzzle

My duel with Aoi in LINK VRAINS was the best thing I've ever done since in a long time. We had dueled since childhood but at that time, we were only dueling for fun. But now that we had grown up, Aoi had set her dream as an idol duelist making people smile has come true for her including earning praises from Akira. It all started when she and I shared our favourite storybooks together. Her favourite book was called "Blue Angel" which also happens to be her chosen Avatar name. She told me that the main character the blue angel was just like her in a way and she always let Akira read for her whenever she feel sad for losing her parents. After reading the story many many times, she decided that after she grown up and get a Duel Disk, she'll start her journey to fulfill her wish as Blue Angel just like in her favourite story.

As for me, well it wasn't that until I remembered my favourite storybook I got as a birthday gift from my mother and till adulthood I wanted to do something in LINK VRAINS. At first it was because that I was copying or following Aoi, it's just that I wonder if this is really what I wanted to do with my life. I've always been a kind and good daughter to my parents and I wanted to support them the best I can ever since my father had became bedridden while my mother did her best to take care of me with some help from the animal friends in the forest garden and the Duel Monsters of course.

Anyway, I'm glad that I got to reunite with Aoi and duel her in LINK VRAINS. We became even more closer as best friends and an all time eternal rival. Two weeks later, our dueling records show that we had tied of 10-10 which makes us even. It doesn't really matter to me no matter if I win or lose, I had lots of fun duelling, entertaining the fans and spending time together.

Right at the moment, it's summer vacation in Den City. Aoi's school is having 3 months off and Akira had also given a summer time off from work.

At Fuyuki's Mansion

For the whole summer, Aoi and Akira had come to my home to spend time with me. Akira told me that its one of his way of repaying for taking them for my kindness.

At the moment, the three of us were having fun either doing the chores or playing with my animal friends. In the afternoon after lunch, I decided to show my secret place just for them.

The world of Duel Monsters where I spent my entire childhood. On 1 condition that no one should ever know about this even SOL Technologies.

After all that's been settled, I escort the Zaizen siblings to the secret passageway in the basement. The entrance to it is a large brown double door.

When I open the door, we take a couple of steps forward and at last the world of Duel Monsters is in sight. It is like in a fairytale forest and finally not to mention the Duel Monsters of all kinds.

"Everyone! Mistress Fuyuki has come to play with us!" The little ones said.

All of the small, cute animal types come flying and pounce on me giving me affections.

"My friends how are you? Missed me so much?" I stood up and I carried the cute winged-beast type, Free birds on my shoulder while the others cling onto my back.

"Fuyuki, this world is beautiful. I never seen anything like it." Aoi said.

"Yes it is, I never knew this kind of world even exist." Akira said as he look around.

"Mistress Fuyuki, who are those humans?" Ancestor Bird said landed on my head.

"Ancestor Bird and everyone, this is Aoi Zaizen and her stepbrother Akira Zaizen. I invited them to spend the summer with me." I introduced my friends to the Zaizens.

Akira look a bit shock that I was actualy talking to them. "Fuyuki, you can understand them?"

"Yes I can. I was born with this gift like my father."

"Wow. Its no wonder sometimes during your duels, when in a pinch, you managed to make a comeback." Aoi said.

I chuckled.

After playing around with the Duel Monsters, we took a walk and came across an old looking shrine with a chest placed on the front across the abyss without a bridge.

"Fuyuki, what is that across there?" Aoi said.

"Well, it's my parent's memorial shrine. When I was around 3 years old, my mother and father had put their most treasured things inside the chest that the shrine kept it."

"You mean like a real treasure chest?"

"Yeah, something like that."

"But how can we get across? There's no bridge." Akira

"Look there's a signboard." Aoi

I read the sign.

"The only way to get across is for the one to solve the Duel Puzzle using the Dragon Rulers cards and the bridge will appear."

"A Duel Puzzle?"

Just then the Dragon Rulers counterparts the True Draco appear before us.

"We have been waiting for you Mistress."

Four dragons appear before us.

"We are the guardians of your family's shrine and we're Duel Monster partners of your grandfather." The dragon in white and looks feminine said.

"My grandfather..."

"Yes. His name is Alex Tsukikami. He built this shrine before he passed away. He said that the shrine protects the treasure chest of the whole Tsukikami family."

"Now that you are the holder of the Dragon Rulers cards, you can gain access to the Tsukikami Shrine after you solve the puzzle."

"How fun and interesting." I said and my heart is pounding with excitement.

"This is going to be interesting." Akira

"Can you really do it?" Aoi said not sure about this.

"Don't worry. I know I can do it and with my friends by my side I won't fail." I said confidently. "Right?"

The Dragon Rulers appear roaring in agreement.

"Very well. Let's begin. Your opponent will be him, the Shrine Guard." A guard in an armor suit appear as my opponent.

The Duel Field is set.

On the opponent's side have all 4 True Draco members in the Main Monster Zone, 1 set card the Trap Card: Chaos Burst and no cards on the Hand and Graveyard.

On my side have Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls, Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders, Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms in Attack Mode, 2 set cards: Trap Card: Torriential Reborn and Counter Trap: Dragon Life Cycle and 4 cards in my hand; Twin Dragon (ATK: 800 / DEF: 1000 / LV: 2), Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos (ATK: 2800 / DEF: 1800 / LV: 7), Magic card: Thunder Crash and Burning Fire. No cards in Graveyard.

"Good luck Fuyuki!" Aoi and Akura cheered alongside the Duel Monsters who watch.

"Thanks I'll do my best! Let's go!"

[DUEL]

SHRINE GUARD LP: 4000 VS FUYUKI LP: 100

"My Turn, Draw!" Since the rules of this duel puzzle, the challenger only has little LP gets to start first and try to win without any mistakes. I draw the only card from the deck and carefully look at the cards in my hand.

"From my hand, when there are at least 2 dragon type on the field, I can special summon Twin Dragon (ATK: 800 / DEF: 1000 / LV: 2)!" Two small dragons in a half open egg shell appear cawing in ATK Mode.

"Twin Dragon effect! This card can be treated as 2 monsters for a tribute. I release Twin Dragon as 2 to Advance Summon Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos (ATK: 2800 / DEF: 1800 / LV: 7)!" Twin Dragon turn to sparkles and Blaster the red fire element Dragon Ruler appeared with a lava roaring in ATK Mode.

"She got all 4 Dragons on the field!" Akira said interestingly as all the dragon of their respective counterpart roaring at each other.

"Now from my hand, I activate Magic card: Burning Fire! The opponent receives 1000 damage and I receive 500 damage."

"What are you doingdoing?! You'll lose with only 100 LP." Aoi said.

"At this moment I activate Counter Trap: Dragon Life Cycle! This card negates all damage to players and I'm allowed to Special Summon a Dragon type monster from the Deck or Graveyard! Come back, Twin Dragon!" The trap stops the fire from dealing damage and Twin Dragon come back on the field in ATK Mode.

"Phew. That was close." Aoi said.

"Not only that, she brought back her monster and now she has 5 dragons on the field. Impressive." Akira said amusingly.

"Now it's time to end this. I activate Magic card: Thunder Crush! It destroys all my monsters and the opponent receives 300 damage for each destroyed monster!" The lightning bolt shock all the dragons and their sparkles combined striking the Shrine Guard dealing him effect damage.

SHRINE GUARD LP: 4000=2500

"That's 1500 damage." Aoi said.

"Now since the Water Attribute Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls was destroyed, I activate the Trap card: Torriential Reborn! I can Special Summon all my monsters that were destroyed to the field and for each revived monsters, the opponent receives 500 damage. That's 2500 damage!" A huge waterfall appear filling the abyss full with water and the Dragons that were destroyed by Thunder Crush all appear majesticly on the field as the Shrine Guard's LP drop to 0.

FUYUKI WINS.

Congratulations you solve our puzzle." Marianne, The True Dracophoenix said.

"Thanks." I said with a small blush on my face.

"You did it. Good job." Aoi said.

"I'm impressed too. I can see why Aoi looks up to you as her rival." Akira said.

I chuckled.

Marianne gets everyone's attention. "Miss Fuyuki, now that you have clear the puzzle, you and your friends may access to the Shrine."

As she said that, a stone bridge appear and we all start to walk across the bridge to the shrine.

There we enter the shrine. It was only an empty room but at the end lies a medium size chest.

"This must be my family's treasure chest." I said as the Duel Monsters stood next to me.

"I can't wait to see what's inside. Hurry, open it!" Aoi said excitedly.

So I open the chest and inside to my surprise it's some kind of a big oval-shaped mirror. It's in silver color with a Cresent moon gem on the top just like my amulet.

"What is this mirror? It's old but very beautiful." I said as I gaze my reflection in it.

"This antique mirror has been said that it has the power to look into the image of anything the owner wants to see and it has another power but it's unknown." Marianne said.

"Wow~. And I wonder what other kind of power does it have? I'm excited to find out." I said and thoughtfully.

"Look what else I found." Aoi said as she reach out to it. It looks like a card sackbag and she hand it to me.

"Ooh, there are Duel Monster Cards." I open the sackbag to find new Duel Monster cards I never seen before.

"Those are some of your family's most treasured cards. As a tradition before your parents pass on, they kept their cherished card so that one day when their child became a Duelist and found the chest, these cards will help you grow stronger."

The cards started to shine bright enveloping me with their lights and I feel warmth coming from them accepting me.

Well after all the fun time together, we all went back to the mansion to have dinner. Time pass by fast and we all head to sleep. Aoi sleep with her brother in the guest bedroom and I'm in my bedroom. I place the mirror on my night stand and the new cards next to it.

"Sigh... That was a long day but fun too. I never knew my parents kept this mirror and their cards as a treasure. I feel like I'm started to know something more new of them. Thank you Mom and Dad."

I look outside the window and sees a Cresent moon shining bright as I get ready for bed. I wonder what will the future will hold on next?
