Chapter 10

Summer Vacation

A/N: Oh, sorry I've been holding this for so long! Procrastinating me... *_* Only 5 chapters left after this! Here's chapter 10! ;)

Gakupo's POV:

After Rin recovered from her accident, and I finished my job of restraining Len from almost killing Neru, we continued into the summer. Rin still had to limp on her leg tenderly after relearning to walk, which was quite tedious, but everything turned out well in the end. Rin, I heard, was now dating Len, her foster brother, and now, boyfriend.

That reminded me of how I felt about Luka when I first touched her three years ago. She sure had been heavy, but-

"Gakupo! I heard that, you eggplant of a Vocaloid!" Luka? How had she heard me? I was just-

"Yeah, right. I heard what you said. You were narrating your summer aloud, weirdo." Luka strolled into my room casually, arms folded across her chest. She rolled her eyes at me and shook her head when I turned around in my chair to look at her.

"I'm writing stuff in my journal!" I whined at her, slumping in my chair and closing my journal.

"And reading it aloud, Gakupo. Your life is not a story." Luka sighed at me and shook her head once more, scoffing at me.

"It is too!"

"No, it isn't."

"Then what do you say about the people reading our story right now, huh?" (That's you folks! ;))

"What?"

"Ah, never mind. It doesn't matter." I shook my head and stood up, my body standing tall, way over her head. I indeed was an eggplant of a Vocaloid, being incredibly slim but tall.

"You were saying I was heavy?" Luka questioned me, looking up at me and narrowing her eyes dangerously.

"Well, no. You were light. And you were pretty." What in the eggplant had I just blurted out?

"Gakupo, are you flirting again?" Rin called out from down the hall in a teasing voice.

"Ummmm... no. What makes you think that?" I replied to little Rin's voice.

"The fact that you said Luka was pretty," Len's voice replied, now at my door. It had been Len?

"Len, are you impersonating Rin again?"

"Uhh, no..." A goofy smile appeared on Len's face as he dashed quickly away.

Oh, I could never get anything done around here with those two little foster siblings messing with me and using their incredibly good impressions of each other to fool me!

I sighed and shook my head at the space where Len had been standing. "Eh, those two. They just... you know." I directed this at Luka, trying to regain my cool air.

"Yep, Gakupo. I came here to tell you our dinner is ready. Call the two little ones, Miku, Mikuo, Piko, and Neru, would you? Thanks," Luka breathed as she strutted out my door casually and gestured for me to follow, not looking back.

"Sure thing," I responded to Luka, exiting my room and starting my search around our vacation house for the others. Boy, was this vacation house large!

Everybody had the choice to have their own room, but Rin and Len slept in one, together. Only eggplants knew what they were doing in there together at night with all those awkward sounds coming from their room. A really loud pillow fight?

Anyways, I found Rin and Len's room first, strange yells coming from the room... Pillow fight? Unlikely; it sounded too intense to be a pillow fight. But neither did I want to find out. I shuddered unable to even think of what could possibly be happening in there. Instead of intruding into their room, I knocked on the door.

"Rin! Len! Dinner! Go to the dining room! Quick!" I sprinted away quickly after yelling, making sure neither of them was following me. Now it was time to call Piko.

Time skip

After I had notified all the others that dinner was ready, we all took our seats at the table and began to eat our separate meals, minding our own businesses and problems. Rin and Len, as incredibly old as they were, started a food fight between each other and we all had to take our plates to the living room, dodging pieces of food flying through the air around us. What children!

Unfortunately for Piko, some rice and sauce landed on his USB tail, and he had to scurry away to the nearest bathroom sink to clean it off. "I'll only be a minute!" Piko called to us as he quickly headed away. I saw Rin snicker a bit at Piko's frantic expression, covering it up with her napkin. Had Rin thrown the rice at Piko?

"Rin, it's not funny," Len whispered to Rin in a scolding manner, as if he were her mother. More like her boyfriend. I wish I was somebody's boyfriend...

"Gakupo!" Luka hit my head with a giant tuna fish piece. Ew!

"Ow, Luka! Why'd you do that?" I rubbed my head, sore and hurting.

"In case you haven't noticed, you're narrating your thoughts aloud, sport! Seriously! It's creepy! Get yourself together. It's making me worry a lot," Luka shuddered and wrapped her arms around herself tightly. "Stop it! It's like something happened to you or something! Did the two little ones do something to you?" Luka asked me this, obviously talking about Rin and Len.

Everybody directed their gaze towards me, staring at me intently, including Rin and Len as well. Piko had emerged from the bathroom, rubbing his tail and looking at me as well. I shook my head.

"Ah... I don't know what's going on, no. I guess it's just a habit? But I feel like I'm missing something, Luka. Someone who, you know, could help me with getting rid of this," I responded calmly, unperturbed by Luka's outburst at me.

I walked away from the table and started to wonder why everyone was so upset with me. I hadn't done anything wrong. I just wanted Luka to like me for the weird, creepy eggplant I was... I arrived at the door of my room and turned to handle. The door clicked open and I stepped inside, pouncing lightly onto my bed, where I fell asleep silently.

Ah... it's been a while since I last had some time to type stories. This is short, and I'll be on a hiatus for a while. Gomen~
