Chapter 8

Miku smiled shyly at Demure as he came and sat beside her. "Hey." He said. "Hey." Miku replied. Nile glanced at them and smiled. "Looks like a new couple is going to emerge soon." He whispered to Kairi. Kairi smiled back. "They're not the only ones." "What do you mean?" Kairi nodded her head to Hyoma and K.C, who were seated on chairs nearby. Both were trying to look away, but they were occasionally glancing at each other, and by chance, their eyes met. K.C immediately whipped her head away, horrified and excited for some reason, while Hyoma continued to look at her in confusion and dismay. "Hyoma too?" Nile asked in astonishment. Kairi shrugged. "It's about time. She's kind of reserved, so it'll take some time…but maybe we'll think about that after we figure out where the bad guys are headed to next."

After introducing Demure to the Guardians (so he could see them), the group headed back to the plane, with Mo and Taye joining them. "Where could Doji and the others be by now?" Carol asked worriedly, fastening her seatbelt. "They won't attack random places." "Exactly." Tsubasa added. "What are they trying to accomplish by attacking all these locations?" As the plane took off, the discussion of the villains' next location continued, but everyone eventually gave up. They went off to their own stuff as the plane flew back to Japan. Hyoma gently tapped K.C on the shoulder. "Hey…just asking, would your parents mind?" He asked softly. K.C looked down. "My father wouldn't. He's used to me being gone for more than one day. My mother's dead." K.C felt Hyoma's hand lightly touch her cheek, before whisking away. "What happened?" He said softly. K.C hesitated. "She was killed…by robbers." She almost stopped there, but decided to hint to Hyoma why she was apprehensive towards his obvious feelings for her. "I could've patched myself up after that, but my boyfriend Makota cheated on me with a girl named Janie." "How could he do that?" Hyoma exclaimed, angry. Obviously judging from K.C's state, that mindless idiot had shattered her even further. "Next time I go to Singapore, give me his address. I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind!" K.C smiled. "Thanks, Hyoma. But I think I can handle him myself." She turned away from Hyoma's blue eyes, trying to suppress the fluttering feeling rising within her.

Glitch and Lil'T sat side by side, but Lil'T avoided his gaze and looked away. Noticing this, Celine tapped Glitch's shoulder. "Hey Glitch," She whispered. "Why is your friend so cold to you?" Glitch sighed. "Ummm…I actually used to date Lil'T once…" "What happened then?" Celine could see the sadness in Glitch's eyes. "There was another girl who liked me. Her name was Beth. She was angry that I was dating Lil'T, and would hurt her sometimes. I wanted her safe, so I broke up with her without telling her the reason. But the next day, Beth forced a kiss on me and Lil'T saw it, and she misunderstood that I had broken up with her for Beth…" Celine's eyes widened in disbelief. She was only a kid, but she knew the culprit when she heard it. How could such a terrible girl exist? Beth wasn't the first one she had heard of. There had been Katie Williams, whom Kairi's first boyfriend Chie had cheated on her with, then that girl Janie whom Makota had cheated on K.C with (she had been eavesdropping), and now this?! They were all bad, but not in the same sense as Doji or Ryuga. Also, if misunderstandings came between them, tensions would rise, and it would be difficult to work together. "Well, I hope you work it out." Celine replied reassuringly.

Jack studied the world map, marking out all the places that the villains had been heard to have attacked. He stared blankly at the dots. The dots had no pattern. Jack sighed in frustration. "How are we supposed to figure this out?" Sakura, never having spoken so much after insulting the Guardians, blinked. The dots seemed to be forming a huge circle, and as she looked over each location, each dot marked out had one dot that was vertically opposite it. "Hold on a second…" she said, taking the marker from Jack. There was no ruler, so Sakura painstakingly used her hairclip to draw out straight lines, connecting the dots to their vertically opposite ones. The lines intersected at one particular point, which was actually under the sea. "Huh?" Sakura said. Jack's eyes widened. "I think there was a legend told to the Guardians by the Man in the Moon once. Pitch has an underground lair deep under the sea, but the earth's convection currents allow it to intersect with any other underground tunnels for twenty four hours in three years. Maybe all of them could be heading there, because that way they could send attacks all over Earth in one day. That way they could conquer the whole planet!" That seemed worse. So much for thinking they were just teaming up to defeat them only. "Maybe that was why they attacked those locations, trying to find the place where all the tunnels will intersect. But we can't just drop ourselves into the middle of the sea." Sakura pointed out. "Who knows how deep it is! There has to be another entrance!" "Where?" Jack asked. "Where would they put their entrances? Pitch's entrance is probably in his lair, but that's too far from here. Merida knows about Mor'du but she can't risk going back into the castle wreckage. As for Dr Tan, his hideout is too far from here also! Where would Doji put his?" "Maybe the Dark Nebula?" A voice said. Kairi was peering over her seat at the map. "It's in ruin right now, but hopefully we can beat Doji and Ryuga to it." Jack shrugged. "We'd better hurry then! This is going to be worse than we thought if we don't!"

Splashfire99: Well that was a lame explanation. The legend thingy that I wrote on is just fake, by the way. But I had to write something. Sigh…stay tuned!
