Episode 9: Feral
Scene 1
As the second freighter approached the docks Jayce carried the unconscious Selene across the beach. Once he got to the street he saw Lady running ahead of him. "Hey wait!" -Jayce. Lady heard him and turned around about a hundred feet away. Jayce put Selene down against a bench and ran towards Lady. The two met halfway and spoke. "What happened?" -Lady. "There's this big ass Lycan on the ship and the Commander and Brick are dead!" -Jayce. "Let's go take out this second ship then as a last 'fuck you' from Brick and the Commander!" -Lady. Jayce looked back at Selene who was still sitting there unconscious. "I can't go with you I have to get my friend to safety. Wait for back up before you go on that ship, it's most likely filled with Lycans!" -Jayce. Jayce turned and started running back to Selene. "Wait!" -Lady. Jayce turned around. "You have friends?!" -Lady. "A friend!" -Jayce. He turned and kept running towards Selene. Lady turned and ran the opposite direction towards the docks. Once she reached the street that was destroyed by the cannon blasts though she went down that street instead of continuing.
Jayce picked up Selene and carried her through a devastated street. From atop the yacht a couple hundred yards away Eve was watching as Jayce carried her out of the front lines. Eve lowered her binoculars and had a scowl on her face. Jayce unbeknownst that he was being watched stepped over a few Lycan corpses and further ahead were dead Hunters and officers. Only about two Hunters were left guarding this street and one was bandaging up his arm from a bullet wound. As Jayce scuffled through carrying Selene over his shoulder, they watched him and nodded. "Good work guys, but you need to move up to the docks and help out with taking the second freighter." -Jayce. Jayce was about to continue on when they stopped him. "Captain! My arm is pretty messed up I can't shot straight but I can get her to the medical team just fine." -Injured Hunter. Tempted to return to battle and help out Lady, Jayce almost handed Selene over to the injured Hunter. At the very last moment he remembered that Selene was not a normal person and that turning her over to a Hunter to be taken to their medical team would surely mean her death. "Uh, no this woman needs special medical treatment. It has to be me that takes her in. If you want to hang back defend the entrance to the street." -Jayce. "Yes Captain." -Injured Hunter.
Although Jayce was not a Captain, in rank he actually surpassed a Captain and in absence of a true Captain or Commander a silver rank can take control of the remaining men. He ran passed these two Hunters, they went the opposite direction closer to the entrance of the street. Jayce had jogged about three streets down with Selene before he was stopped by a person who stepped out from an intersection. It was a woman wearing denim blue jeans and a button down shirt with the top four buttons left open. Her face was unmistakable. Her resemblance to Selene was uncanny which meant she could only be her Hybrid daughter. "You're the one that killed the Hunters?" -Jayce. "Not today, but if you're asking in general if I have killed Hunters than the answer is yes." -Eve.
Eve had a smugness about her, she could feel her muscles refilling with her Hybrid strength. Jayce's legs felt heavy from all the running while carrying Selene and the previous fighting he had been through since before noon. It was now evening and the sun was close to setting in less than an hour. Jayce walked to the building and sat Selene up against the wall. He then went back to the middle of the empty street. The only thing on this entire strip of road was the three of them. Eve cracked her neck by lifting her head up. Jayce shook the soreness out of his hands and then opened and closed his fingers. He still had his lever action rifle and the sword on his back, along with the four revolvers, although the large one only had one round left. His spiked knuckles were back in his pockets and his knife stuck in his boot. Eve had nothing on her person other than her clothes. She wasn't feeling one hundred percent yet, but she had enough strength to deal with one Hunter easily. "What are you wait -" -Eve. Before she could finish Jayce drew his right gun and fired from the hip three times. Each shot hit Eve in her chest and she fell to the floor.
Laying on her back on the street, Eve looked down at her chest and saw that her wounds were not closing up as fast as they should be. She rolled over to her side and started getting up. Jayce lifted his gun up to aim better. This time he aimed for her head. When he pulled back the hammer, Eve heard it and she moved her head out of the way. Jayce's bullet soared right passed Eve's face and went through her hair. Eve kept moving sideways with elevated speed. Jayce fired at her two more times but missed both times. Eve was then close enough to mount her counter attack. She swung her fist at Jayce but he saw it coming a mile away and flipped her over. After she hit the floor Jayce took two large steps back and holstered his gun. He was going to take out his left sided gun but Eve turned and slashed at Jayce's gun belt. She cut through the leather with her claws and Jayce's gun and utility belt fell to the floor.
He had to step away again when she tried to follow up her slash with another. He pulled the lever action rifle off his back and fired at Eve. The first shot hit her in the shoulder but before Jayce could rack in the next round Eve had her hand on the barrel and punched Jayce in the chest. He fell back and rolled about ten feet away. Eve threw his rifle to the sidewalk. She picked up his belts and also threw them to the side walk. Jayce took the sword from his shoulder in his right hand and the knife from his boot in his left hand. His armor had held up to her punch but he could feel the center of his chest throbbing. "Really, you're gonna come at me with a sword?!" -Eve. Eve rushed at Jayce. He stepped back giving himself the proper distance between himself and Eve. She was faster and stronger but her arms were less than forty inches. Jayce's arms were about the same length but with the sword in hand that length was doubled giving him twice the reach and definitive distance advantage.
As Eve's claws came towards Jayce he stepped to the side and lifted the sword with grace and purpose slashing her arm as she charged by him like a raging bull. She had to catch herself so she didn't charge too far away from Jayce. She turned to face him and narrowed her eyes. She could feel the warm blood dripping down her arm. Eve attacked again this time a flurry of hack and slashes. Jayce had to move faster than he ever imagined to match his sword with her claws. Eve was hitting the center of his sword with her claws and causing him to step back every time. Once Jayce felt his arms burning his speed dropped and Eve slashed at his chest plate leaving four distinct scratches in the steel plate. Although Eve saw this as an advantage for her, Jayce actually didn't even feel the scratches at all and he used the momentary opening to stab Eve in the stomach with the knife in his left hand. Eve froze and so did Jayce. She looked down at the knife stuck in her stomach. Then she looked up at Jayce who was still holding the knife.
Eve reached out and grabbed his neck, but Jayce used the point of his elbow to bend her elbow in and get her hand off his throat. Eve grabbed his throat with her left hand, Jayce raised his right foot all the way up to Eve's shoulder and used the leverage to get her hand off his throat again. Over and over Eve tried to grab Jayce and rip him to pieces but Jayce understood the human body better than she did and he used his knowledge of joint manipulation and physiology to escape her grasp every time. Once Eve realized she was not going to be able to finish him this way she instead just hit him across the face. This took Jayce by surprise and sent him flying sideways through the street and into a clothing store window. He crashed through the window and tried to roll over and shake the dizziness out of his head. Eve began walking towards the shattered window. She pulled the knife out of her stomach and stepped into the clothes store.
Jayce stumbled to his feet and walked through the various clothes racks trying to get away from Eve. He started pushing the clothes racks in her way. Eve just pushed them aside. "Do you think that – Oh shit." -Eve. In the confusion of clothes and hangers Eve had lost sight of Jayce and now she couldn't find him. "I can just sniff you out!" -Eve. Eve took a deep breath and then opened her eyes wide as Jayce stabbed his sword into her back side and out the front of her stomach. Eve instinctively turned around and smacked Jayce away. He flew right back out the window he had just flown into. Jayce was getting up slower this time, the fatigue of being a human was not something that plagued the Lycans, Vampires and apparently not the Hybrid either. Eve passed through the window looking at the sword going through her body. Jayce kept one eye on her as he got to his wobbly feet. Eve took hold of the handle that was behind her and she slowly pulled the sword out of her body.
After she got the sword out of herself, she threw the dual sided sword into the asphalt street and the sword stabbed into the floor. Eve than took another deep breath and she felt her full power coming back to her. Her wounds began closing up, even the recent sword stab was healing right before Jayce's eyes. Jayce reached into his back pockets and took out his spiked knuckles and put them on. Eve noticed him doing this. "You know what you remind me of?" -Eve. Jayce didn't respond, he just got into his hand to hand stance. "You remind me of a badger! You know a little badger?" -Eve. Jayce just raised one eye brow at Eve's strange comparison. "They are like little weasels or something but when a bigger animal comes along they get extremely feral and wild." -Eve. "I know what a badger is." -Jayce. Eve started walking toward Jayce slowly. "The thing about badgers is they can show their fangs and move their paws around furiously, but if the cougar decides he she wants to kill that badger. Then all his flailing and struggling is for nothing. Because she is bigger, stronger and faster." -Eve. Eve transformed into her Hybrid form a few steps in front of Jayce. "Go ahead little badger try and stop me!" -Eve.
Scene 2
Lady ran through the debris of the wreaked street and managed to see the medical team that was extracting whoever they could that was still alive. Guarding and helping them were a few Hunters and officers. Leading the effort was the Rookie. He was carrying two people out of a building when Lady saw him. As he set the injured people down on the carrier beds they were taken by the medical staff who needed to get everyone out before the rest of the buildings collapsed. Lady ran up to him and the two put their hands on each other shoulders and then Lady told him what she came here for. "I need your help, there's another freighter in the docks and we need to stop it before they activates it's cannons too!" -Lady. "Where are the others? I saw Jayce and I bet he went forward to the boat." -Rookie. "I saw him he looked okay but he was retreating. I haven't seen the Commander or Brick." -Lady. The Rookie called a bronze rank Hunter over to him. "Hey you're in charge here now, that means you leave after everyone one else is out you got that?!" -Rookie. "Yes sir! I won't fail my duties!" -Bronze rank Hunter. Lady and the Rookie would have normally made a wisecrack about this Hunters devotion, but for now they were just as duty driven.
The two ran to a pile of guns the officers had collected from the corpses. The both picked up two assault rifles and plenty of ammo. Reaching the exit of the street was the easy part. As the two peaked out from behind a building they could see the freighter being unloaded of metal crates. But the Lycan army was not the only ones mobilizing. Some other Hunters had arrived at the beach street and were moving down the street towards the freighter. There was even a Hunter utility vehicle driving towards them. The two silver rank Hunters stepped out into the street and waited fro the other to join them. Once all the Hunters and officers arrived there was more than twenty of them. A Hunter was also atop the utility vehicle preparing to use the large double firing sentry guns.
All the Hunters looked over to Rookie and Lady. The Rookie looked over at Lady too. "So what's the plan?" -Rookie. "Take the docks back and kill anything that smells like a Lycan!" -Lady. The Hunters cheered and lifted their guns but as soon as that was over their training and military like tactics took over. With their guns raised to their shoulders they entered the docks and met the Lycans in combat. Some of the Lycans were in complete Lycan form. But with clear direction from the two silver rank Hunters they moved flawlessly through the vicious animals and the metal crates. As the main group moved down the docks two others stayed to the back and shot the Lycans that hadn't been hit in the head to make sure they were dead. The Hunters could hear the large freighter activating something big on the deck. They assumed it was the cannon. "How do we get on the ship?" -Hunter reinforcement.
The Rookie looked to the large crane and got an idea. They grabbed two long chains and two grenades. The chains they wrapped around the two front legs of the crane and the grenades they tossed at the two back legs. When the grenades exploded, the two back legs were blown off and the Hunters all combined their strength to pull down on the legs to make sure the crane fell towards the ship instead of onto the docks. The metal crane did just that, it fell onto the freighter and laid their against it. The Hunters then ran up on the legs of the crane and opened fire on every Lycan on the ship. The battle went on for a while as the Hunters gained a foot hold on the ship. They were making a severe dent in the morale of the Lycan army, but just when the tables had turned in their favor the sun set.
Scene 3
Eve was standing in front of Jayce in her transformed state and Jayce had no move to make. He couldn't retreat, she was faster than him. He couldn't kill her, he only had his spiked knuckles. When Eve moved it was like lightning had struck Jayce. He couldn't see her move until she stopped right in front of him. Eve's hand with her long black claws, sharp like razors and as durable as steel was only an inch away from Jayce's face. The surprised look on both Eve's and Jayce's face was attributed to Selene holding Eve's wrist. Selene threw Eve's arm down and pushed Jayce back so she could stand in front of him. "What are you doing?! They killed my dad, they killed Michael!" -Eve. "Would you let that one action of cruelty lead you to a life of meaningless vengeance? I told you the stories of what happened to me. I don't want the same thing for you." -Selene. Selene stepped forward and took Eve's face in her hands. "If you ever listen to me about anything let it be this: Holding hatred in your heart is not going to bring Michael back." -Selene. Eve put her hands on Selene's wrists. She looked down at the pavement and then looked up into Selene's eyes.
Eve tightened her grip on Selene's wrists. The look in her eyes changed from Selene's daughter to the mad woman she had become. "It's him isn't it? You don't care about Michael because of him!" -Eve. Eve glared passed Selene at Jayce who was looking on to see what would happen. "Are you -" -Selene. Eve did not wait for her response. With her wrists in hand Eve pulled Selene toward her and kneed her in the stomach three times. Selene fell from the pain, but Eve was still holding her up from her wrists. "You are a traitor to your own kind and to the future!" -Eve. Selene coughed up a chunk of blood as she tried to speak. "You're not seeing things straight Eve! You have to stop this!" -Selene. "That's right only I can stop me. Not you, not some double sized Lycan or the Hunters!" -Eve. Eve looked up to glare at Jayce but he was gone.
Eve kicked Selene into the building across the street and turned to where she knew Jayce would be. She was too late, he slid on the sidewalk and lifted two of his guns off the floor and from his laying down position he fired at her with all twelve rounds. Eve was hit multiple times in the chest and face. She stood standing for a few moments after, but when she lifted her foot to take a step she feel to the ground. Jayce popped his guns opened and reloaded them as fast as he could. He grabbed the third gun and shoved it into the front of his pants since his belts were cut. The fourth gun, the largest, he shoved in the back of his pants. He quickly got up and went into the hole that Selene's body had made. He picked her up off the floor. "I don't feel so good." -Selene. Jayce looked at her from behind, the stab wound she had earlier was still fresh and hadn't healed yet. "You're still hurt, lets get out of here." -Jayce. "Eve." -Selene. "She's dead." -Jayce. "No she isn't." -Selene. "I shot her in the head multiple times, she's dead." -Jayce. "No she isn't!" -Selene. Selene mustered up her strength and threw Jayce to the side. Eve's fist missed Jayce and hit Selene dead center in her chest sending her flying across the ground floor of this building.
Jayce got up and pointed both guns at Eve. Eve slowly turned to face him. She had silver spots on her face where the bullets had smashed into her bones and stopped. She opened her mouth and an ooze of silver nitrate poured out along with the bullet case. "You can't kill me little badger." -Eve. Then without warning another shot was fired and Eve was blown across the room and landed halfway to where Selene was laying. The smoking gun was in the hand of gold rank Hunter Logain Sorbo. Behind him his team of gold rank Hunters. "His name is little Jayce." -Sorbo. Sorbo entered the room from the hole in the wall and saw Jayce. "How the fuck are we supposed to get anywhere in this city when our driver keeps disappearing on us?" -Sorbo. "Why aren't you helping with the freighters?" -Jayce. "What freighters?" -Sorbo. "The ones that all the Lycans are coming from." -Jayce. "Oh those! We were brought here to hunt and collect the Hybrid not save your city from terrorists attacks. I don't get paid enough to save cities from extinction." -Sorbo. "Since when do you care about money? And just so you know the Hybrid's gone." -Jayce. Sorbo and his team looked over to where the Hybrid had been blasted but she was gone.
"Well shit!" -Sorbo. He holstered his large automatic pistol and was stepping though the debris when a loud screech filled the sky. The five Hunters ran out of the building and looked towards the origin of the sound, the docks. Then the screeching began to go on and off. They knew what it was already. Any Hunter that had survived the Frontier Days had undoubtedly encountered a feral blood deprived Vampire. "You guys go on ahead." -Jayce. "What do you have to do that's so important?" -Sorbo. "I'm gonna bring the car around." -Jayce. "Don't be too long I want to show you how it's done!" -Sorbo. Sorbo's team went jogging down the street towards the screeching with feral Vampires, even the Hybrid was not as dangerous. Feral Vampires do not think about not turning their victims, instead they have an insatiable thirst for anyone who hasn't already been bitten. This could lead to a chain reaction of vampires being turned every minute and that isn't a good position to be in even for a gold rank team.
Jayce ran back into the building and went to Selene who as still laying there. She was awake but barely moving. "Come on get up." -Jayce. He picked her up but she fell back to the floor. Her eyes were glazed over and she couldn't focus on one thing at a time. "You have to get up, we're not done yet." -Jayce. He tried to pick her up again but his legs were too shaky and he fell down on the ground next to her. He rolled over to look at the ceiling just like her. He stretched his tired feet and looked over at Selene. She was staring at him with wide eyes. "No! Don't even think about it that's just degrading." -Jayce. He tried to get up but she grabbed his arm and pulled him. He could tell she was weak, if he really wanted to he could break free from her grip. "I told you I wouldn't do it again!" -Jayce. Her gaze got even more petty and he thought he saw a tear swell up. "Okay fine! Get your stupid face over here and open your mouth. And this is the last time for sure!" -Jayce.
Jayce leaned up on his elbow and Selene moved her head closer and opened her mouth. Jayce could see her fangs were getting larger than normal. He unbound the hand that he had fed her from before. The cut on his hand was mostly closed so he grabbed his fingers and wrenched his hand backwards to open up the cut again. As the blood began to pour out he let it drip into Selene's mouth. She at first was satisfied with the dripping but then she lifted her head and licked Jayce's wound clean. "Okay that's enough." -Jayce. Selene put her lips against his hand and started sucking on his cut. "I said enough!" -Jayce. He pushed her away and rolled away and she licked her lips and laid there for a few seconds. Almost like a miracle before his eyes Jayce saw the color come back to her skin, her eyes cleared up and he could see they were glowing blue. The wound on her stomach healed and she took a deep breath and stood up like normal. "You're so stingy." -Selene. Jayce was wrapping his hand back up. "You forget I don't just get my energy back in a few seconds like you can." -Jayce.
They started walking out of the building. "Did you like my whimper face?" -Selene. "I don't know what you're talking about." -Jayce. " Eve taught me it, how to fake a sad look. It was hard for me to learn but I think I got it down now." -Selene. "You're a real bitch you know that?" -Jayce. "It worked on you didn't it?" -Selene. "I didn't see anything, I don't know what you're talking about." -Jayce. The two left the building and went to go pick up Jayce's gear. The screeching could still be heard throughout the streets.
Scene 4
Lady fired shots straight up into the air and the body of a feral Vampire fell in front of her. Although these weren't UV rounds they still had enough kick to kill a Vampire if they hit in the vital organs. All the Lycan soldiers had retreated as their grotesque cousins took to the battlefield. The feral Vampires are pale, their fangs are longer and their eyes are always glowing blue. They are insatiable and no matter how much blood they consume they will never revert back to their sane original form. Vampires turned by a feral bite are born feral and this adds to their ranks quickly. During the Frontier Days feral Vampires were the top concern due to their inability to control their hunger. With the darkness now on their side the feral Vampires blended in the the freighters dark exterior as they ran passed the Hunters screeching and trying to get them to make a fatal mistake. Even the feral Vampires are not so stupid they would run into a hail of gunfire on purpose.
The pale half naked creepers zipped back and forth across the ship causing panic amongst the Hunters. The Hunters had taken up a defensive circle to keep eyes in all directions. Lady and the Rookie were back to back seeing as they were the most experienced. Unable to get passed the Hunters defense the Vampires instead decided to push over a metal crate which almost fell on them. The Hunters were forced to scatter and that was when the frenzy began. Feral Vampires latched onto the fallen Hunters and stuck their fangs into any part of their body to feed. Lady got to her feet and kept firing at the Vampires even through the darkness. The Rookie was stuck with his leg underneath the metal crate but he was still shooting at the Vampires that were coming for him. Lady came to his side and tried to help him get his leg out but the crate was extremely heavy and she couldn't move it. Together the two remaining Hunters protected themselves as the last of the remaining sunlight vanished behind the earth and complete darkness fell over the freighter.
The screeching of the feral Vampires did not cease with the disappearance of the sun, in fact it got even more constant. Lady was kneeling next to the Rookie who's leg was still caught under the crate she was reloading her gun. The Vampires seemed to be taking a break from harassing them for a moment. "You should go. If you leave now I can still hold them off long enough for you to get to the edge of the boat and jump off." -Rookie. Lady pulled the lever on her gun back and laughed. "What do you think I am a blue? You can't get rid of me that easily." -Lady. The Vampires came at them again this time with renewed vigor. Lady was pretty much firing at the sound they made as opposed to what she could see. This was a tactic many Hunters learn especially when fighting Vampires who don't need light to find you. The Rookie's gun ran out of bullets and he dropped the assault rifle. He took out his automatic pistol and stayed at the ready.
All at once many of the feral Vampires came at them biting and slashing with their talon like claws. The two Hunters fired at them as best they could, but the numbers were too great for them. The Vampires were getting closer and then Lady ran out of bullets. A feral Vampire jumped out of the darkness and landed inches from her. He grabbed her by the shoulders but his body was suddenly torn asunder. Lady was splattered with the intestines of the Vampire and she stood there shocked as she could actually see the beam of like slice through the air and remain for a few seconds after. The beam was the aftereffects of gold rank Hunter Jake Thompson's sniper rifle. Lady followed the beam of light to the origin. Still somewhere on the beach street below she couldn't see any one but she knew that was where he was most likely crouched and looking through a night scope. Lady took out her pistol and prepared for anymore Vampires. There was another shot and a bright beam of light lit up the boat as two feral Vampires were blow to pieces.
Using the light of the shot Lady spotted a Vampire hiding behind a metal crate. She fired at it hitting it multiple times in the head. Then a few more vampires came out of hiding. They were shot by someone behind Lady. She looked back at the Rookie and even he was looking back in shock. Standing their on the boat even visible in the darkness where three of the gold rank Hunters. Their gold trimmed armor was so bright that it even shined with almost no natural light. They did not take out their guns though. Instead they came over to the Rookie and the Russian Vlad grabbed one side of the metal crate and Sorbo grabbed the other. Cinda took out her two main katanas and disappeared into the darkness. Lady could hear her chopping apart the Vampires even without the aid of light or prior knowledge to the ships setup. The two men easily lifted the crate off of the Rookie's foot and they lifted it all the way up onto it's bottom. It had a few holes and cracks in it. As they put down the crate a few Vampires jumped into view. Sorbo took hold of his side of the crate and flipped the entire metal crate like it was some sort of balloon toy. The crate squashed a few of the Vampires and Lady and the Rookie took out the rest. Lady had her eyes on the gold rank leader. How could a man like him pull off a feat like that.
Sorbo was a bit taller and stronger than the average man but lifting a metal carrier crate alone, that would taker superhuman strength. Sorbo didn't even bother to look back at the silver rank Hunters, he and Vlad continued on leaving the Hunters to take care of themselves. Lady helped the Rookie to his feet and lucky for them the sniper Jake was watching their backs. His massive sniper bullets tore apart any Vampires that got too close to the fleeing Hunters. Once Lady and the Rookie got off the freighter they could still hear the destruction as the four gold rank Hunters turned the boat into a floating graveyard for Vampire and Lycan alike.
Scene 5
Mrs. Lindinstine was in her office at the Hunter's Base, she along with all the other various workers in the building were taking in evacuees and also trying to call for reinforcements. The Hunter's Base always doubles as an evacuation center for any crisis situation due to it's ideal location and lots of empty space in the training facilities and on sight gyms. Higher ranking Hunters tend to get memberships elsewhere though because they don't like watching the new Hunters train. It's hard to see someone prepare for battle the same way you did and then hear they got ripped apart. It's like a sick omen telling you your time is almost up. It is however a large room with many drinking facilities and good air conditioning capable of easily sustaining five hundred occupants at a time. The evacuees were tense, scared and confused. Many still didn't even know what was happening. The workers at the base were forced to take on roles as providers and help the people with whatever they needed. They were even constantly going on runs to get people who were house ridden or pets that had been forgotten.
Mrs. Lindinstine was furiously calling different people all of high importance in different cities in hopes that someone would agree to help. The other cities were as cold as enemies, they didn't care that Krystal City was under attack and they viewed coming out of their walls as a sentence of death. From her office Mrs. Lindinstine could see the workers helping the people into the parking lot structure. They had run out of space and the wounded were starting to pour in. Ambulances carrying many people at a time were driving passed them to the hospital, some ambulances stopped here. All Hunter Base staff are trained as nurses and can handle minor injuries as well as psychological trauma. People with minor injuries were left here so that the hospital didn't get flooded with easy to fix patients. The worst were the bitten victims. There was nothing the workers could do for them. They were separated from the rest and walked down into the underground floor of the Hunter's Base.
The lowest floor in the building was reserved for the extermination of immortal bodies. A large metallic door standing twenty feet high with enough room to fill twenty people at a time. Some of the victims knew what was coming they had to walk down those cold steps holding hands knowing full well they were walking into their death. The younger ones were the worst. Separated from their parents and left to walk down alone. The workers were never trained for this. The Hunters are killers, but the workers they file reports, they pay bills, they take calls, they answer emails and they dispatch the Hunters. But they never had to flip the switch that would incinerate men, woman and children alike, not until today.
The screeching could be heard all the way over at the Base and it made the mood at the Hunter's Base even more grim than it already was. Mrs. Lindinstine beat her desk with one of her phones. She fell down to the floor and wept at her desk. No one was going to help them and no one cared. The repelling of this attack would fall into the hands of the men and women that were already out there. Hours had passed and fatigue was likely setting in to the few that were left alive. No one on the field was answering her calls either. As the Patron of the Hunter's Base her job was to stay here and protect the staff and the people. But how do you do that when most of the people you saw this morning are likely dead or worse, turned.
As she sat there crumpled up on the floor feeling completely useless, one of her phones rang. She jumped up onto her desk and answered the phone. "Mrs. Lindinstine, this is Jayce." -Jayce. She was so happy to hear his voice she jumped up with her hands in the air. "Hello are you there?" -Jayce. "Jayce yeah I'm here. What is it?" -Mrs. Lindinstine. "I need an air craft or a boat. We are at the beach but we need to get onto the second freighter in order to end this attack." -Jayce. "We don't have any aircraft that can fly over without being shot down and I don't know where you could get a boat fro – wait you can use my boat it's in the docks and I always keep the key underneath the passenger seat!" -Mrs. Lindinstine. She could hear Jayce running through the phone. "What does it look like?!" -Jayce. "It's white and blue I think." -Mrs. Lindinstine. "They're all white and blue! There's like two hundred boats here!" -Jayce. "It has a Hunter academy sticker on the side." -Mrs. Lindinstine.
She could hear rustling as Jayce and someone else shouted back and forth looking through all the boats. "I remember keeping it near a chain link fence, does that help?" -Mrs. Lindinstine. Jayce ran somewhere else and was breathing heavily. "Okay I found it." -Jayce. "Jayce there is some gear underneath and it should have enough gas to get you out to sea." -Mrs. Lindinstine. She heard the boat start up through the phone. "Don't worry. Were gonna take care of this problem once and for all." -Jayce. She could hear the boat pulling out of the docking area. "Stay safe Jayce." -Mrs. Lindinstine. "Likewise." -Jayce. He hung up the phone and Mrs. Lindinstine sat back in her desk chair. She started calling people again trying to reach other Hunters on the front to see if they could lend a hand in anyway.
Scene 6
Jayce and Selene were on the small boat and speeding out of the docking area. "Hey can you take the steering?" -Jayce. Selene had never used a boat like this before but the steering was similar to a car. As she and Jayce switched seats, Jayce sat down on the passenger side and rubbed his side. His legs were burning up, his sides were hurting and his chest hurt every time he took a deep breath. When Selene turned to look at him Jayce sat up straight and stopped rubbing his side. "What's the matter?" -Selene. "Nothing." -Jayce. "You're probably right it's probably not important." -Selene. Jayce let out a long sigh. "Pops was more of a father to me than my dad ever was. He taught me how to shoot and fight. He taught me the skills that make me who I am today." -Jayce. "You're a Hunter, but that's not all you are." -Selene.
Selene looked back at Jayce and he just shook his head. "I spent my teens years preparing to be this great Hunter and now I have no life outside of it. Brick had a family, Pops had a family and I have nothing." -Jayce, "What's with the stunning life revelation?" -Selene. "If I get bit on that ship, I need to know that you will take me out." -Jayce. Selene didn't look back at him when she responded. "Maybe it's not as bad as you think being immortal." -Selene. "Just promise me." -Jayce. "Okay, I promise." -Selene. Jayce stood up and stepped down into the small room underneath the boat barely suitable for one person. There was a metal suitcase in the corner that Jayce recognized immediately as a supply box. He opened it up and was glad to see it was stocked with the latest gear. A sub-machine gun and a few mags as well as a couple of mixed grenades. Bullets as always and a few Hunter's knives. Jayce came out of the room and put the sub-machine gun down next to Selene and he offered her the two knives.
Selene looked down at the knives in his hand. "I still have your knife back home don't I?" -Selene. "You can keep it, I traded up." -Jayce. He pointed to the sword on his back. They sat in the boat awhile longer the freighter was slowly moving away from the coast. They were about ten minutes away. "So what did you think of Eve?" -Selene. "You know I never saw the original Hybrid in London or Paris, but seeing her in that form … it's really something." -Jayce. "She's stronger than Michael was and she doesn't like you at all. Your just lucky she likes to play with her food first." -Selene. "She's not safe. You know that right?" -Jayce. "I would have thought your run in with her would have changed your mind about trying to kill her. She was different tonight though, it's like she was weaker." -Eve. "You mean she gets stronger than that?" -Jayce. "Yes she does." -Selene. Jayce stood up and went to the back of their boat there was a rope on board, so he tied a pipe onto the end and as Selene pulled up to the side of the slowly moving freighter he presented her with the device.
"What would u like me to do with that?" -Selene. "Bend it like a hook so we can get up." -Jayce. "I could just jump -" -Selene. "No, no more jumping. I've been high enough in the air today to last me awhile." -Jayce. Selene sternly took the pipe and rope and she bent the pipe. With the hook part made she easily flung the hook up onto the side of the freighter. Then with that done she jumped straight up out of the boat and landed on the side of the freighter. When she stepped onto the boat and disappeared from his view Jayce just shook his head. "Showoff." -Jayce. He started his climb up the side of the freighter.
The freighter was dark and empty but Selene could hear the faint scratching and gnawing happening inside the boat. She made her way across the boat silently. When she turned a corner into the maze of metal crates there standing facing her was Raynon in his human form. He did not seem surprised on seeing Selene. He was busy picking some flesh out from under his fingernails. "You know this is all a distraction right?" -Raynon. Selene felt uneasy abut approaching the super Lycan, but he seemed civil enough. "Distracting us from what?" -Selene. "Well not distracting you, but distracting them." -Raynon. Raynon gestured to the second freighter where the Hunters were still fighting with the feral Vampires and Lycans. "The Hunters?" -Selene. "How do you get into the enemies base if they are all there? The truth is there's no easy way to do it. So we did it the fun way. We attracted all of their forces here just for one moment." -Raynon. "Is Darwin really that important to you?" -Selene. "No, not to me. But he is to the queen and she makes all the rules." -Raynon.
Raynon finally got the annoying piece of flesh out of his fingernails. "Where's your friend?" -Raynon. Selene said nothing. "The Hybrid, she looks just like you. I assume you're more than friends, am I right?" -Raynon. "She's my daughter." -Selene. "She's not much for words like you are." -Raynon. "I used to be quite like that too." -Selene. "What changed?" -Raynon. "Nothing." -Selene. Selene threw one of the Hunter's knives across the boat at Raynon and it stabbed into his shoulder as he moved just in time to avoid it going into his chest. The impact of the knife hitting his shoulder knocked him back against the metal crate. He got up quickly but Selene was gone from view. He looked around the maze but couldn't find her. "You're mean just like her, but she's untrained. I can kill her! And here is my chance! Look to the coast and you will see her making her way here. She followed you and if you won't make yourself known I will just have to finish what I started with her. Off in the distance on top of a metal crate Selene was quietly hanging off the side. She looked out to the coast and just like Raynon said there was another small boat headed toward the freighter. Raynon knelt down and grabbed Selene's wrist, he had appeared out of nowhere and had not made a sound. "I have you now." -Raynon.
Scene 7
As the Hunter's Base filled more and more They began putting people anywhere there was space. This meant even down in the prison floor. Darwin watched with his arms crossed through the bars as the workers lined the people against the wall and gave them warm milk or coffee and any treatment they needed. After a while the workers had to leave to help other people so the room was left with the just the evacuees and Darwin. Although in most cases people are frightened by criminals behind bars, Darwin was different he was well dressed and clean shaven giving him almost a saint like look. It wasn't long before they were in a conversation about the history of Krystal City and why the different people moved here. None of them suspected that Darwin was a Vampire after all he didn't have extremely large fangs or a brooding personality.
Darwin also had an ingenious way of going long periods of time without feeding. It was a small pump attached to the inside of his belt and it looked no different from a insulin pump. This device could be easily be inserted into Darwin's vein and in mere seconds he could get a full dose and still have a lot left over for later. Since he asked to be imprisoned the guards didn't bother to check him because no one would try anything with Hunters around at all times. Everything was going fine for Darwin even considering the ongoing battle he felt safe here among the people. No one could get to him here and even if they did, he could just slip away into a crowd and then vanish into the night. As he told he listened to peoples stories of why they moved to Krystal City the elevator alerted it's arrival. With one simple glance to the right Darwin's face went flush. He pulled his arms into the prison cell and moved back to his bench. The four men that had come out of the elevator walked over to the cell. They obviously didn't belong here. They wore suits and ties and had sunglasses on even though this floor was underground.
The leading man was stout and had a strong accent that was hard to match to a specific language. "Darius, or do you prefer your new name Darwin. Why you gotta do this to us Darius? Why you gotta go and mess with the boss lady?" -Stout leader. He put his thick arms against the bars of the cage and leaned in close and whispered. "You ain't safe nowhere Darius." -Stout leader. The leader turned to face the people. "No worries folks just gonna be moving this prisoner so if you could please move to the other side of the room so that, you know nothing valuable gets broke." -Stout Leader. He pulled out from his suit pocket a bonafide silver Hunter badge. The people took one look at the shiny badge and they did just as he asked. Darwin put his face into his hands and yelled. The stout leader pressed the badge up against the gel pad lock on the door. The name and rank came up on display and then the lock to the cell popped open. "I'll never get over how cool that is." -Stout leader. The leader took a step back to let two of the other men go in first. "Don't fight it Darius just take whats coming." -Stout leader.
Darwin did the exact opposite he tried to get passed the men but they grabbed him and threw him down to the floor. He fought back every step of the way, biting and kicking them where ever he could. It took about five minutes just for them to get a good hold on his arms and legs. "Come on Darius this isn't graceful, you're giving me a bad image." -Stout leader. Finally the third man stepped in and wrestled Darwin into a pair of thick metal handcuffs. As they carried him out of the cell one of Darwin's legs got loose and he kicked the stout leader in the face. The leader's sunglasses broke into two pieces. The leader's nose also started bleeding, he pinched his nose and followed the men towards the elevator. Once the door closed he punched Darwin across the face. "Why you gotta make my life so difficult, so what you're gonna get tortured for the rest of you're immortal life, so what how's that my fault." -Stout leader. The leader cracked his nose back into place and then pressed the button for the ground floor.
Scene 8
Raynon pulled Selene up over the metal crate and slammed her into it with so much force that she broke through the top and crashed into it. Her body smashed all the wooden boxes full of guns and broke through the bottom and she landed inside the bottom crate. Raynon stepped off the stack of crates and landed on the boat floor. He walked over to the bottom crate and ripped the door off it's hinges without much trouble at all. Selene rushed at him punching him in the face twice. Raynon took a step back and blinked like he was shocked. When Selene tried to follow up the attack though he straight kicked her back into the metal crate. She slammed up against the opposite side. Raynon then stepped inside the crate and grabbed a machine gun off the floor, it had fallen out of one of the wooden boxes that was broken. Selene rushed him again this time kicking him in the chest and following up with a spinning kick to the side of his head. The force knocked Raynon's head down onto the wooden box and shattered the box to splinters.
Selene then grabbed the back of Raynon's coat to throw him, but he shoved the gun barrel up against Selene's stomach and lifted her up with the gun. He pushed her against the wall of the crate and he pulled the trigger and held it. The machine gun fired all of it's rounds into Selene's stomach causing her to shake as if she was being electrocuted. When the gun ran out of ammo the gun could still be heard clicking. The bullets had went through her body and pierced through the crate wall behind her leaving a large hole in the wall and the fringes of that hole were covered in her blood. She had a large gaping wound in her stomach from all the bullets passing through her. Raynon pulled the barrel of the gun out of her stomach and Selene's body fell to the floor. "It's a shame that -" -Raynon. Raynon's monologue was cut short by Jayce's sword being stabbed through his chest. The blade passed through his heart and as he looked down at the blade he turned to see Jayce. Jayce forcefully stabbed his Hunter's knife into the throat of the super Lycan. Raynon grabbed the blade and was about to pull it out when he fell to the floor like a falling tree.
Jayce went to Selene and picked her up off the floor. "You can't do anything right can you?" -Jayce. As he lifted her up Selene pushed him off of her and a Lycan snapped it's jaws shut only inches from Selene's face. She held her hand straight to mimic a blade and with all the pain and anger in her body she shoved her hand through the Lycan's throat and her fingers breached out the back of it's neck. Jayce was once again shocked by how close he had been to getting his head caught in the jaws of a Lycan. Jayce stood up. The Lycan slid off of Selene's hand and collapsed on the floor. Jayce stepped over the large beast and got to the same side as Selene, he then kicked the beast on the snout. "That doesn't look to good." -Jayce. Jayce pointed to the disfigured hole in Selene's stomach. "It's heal, lets go." -Selene.
Before they could get out of the metal crate, the entire crate began to lift up on the right side. Selene and Jayce both fell over as something caused the crate to violently flip over multiple times. It was like being rolled in a giant barrel except for the wooden boxes and guns falling on them. When the crate finally stopped rolling. Jayce lifted himself up off the floor. He had a large piece of wood sticking in through a gap in his shoulder plates. He tried to lift his left hand but the splinter cause him so much pain that he couldn't do it. He was about to rip it out with his right hand when ten massive claws stabbed into the side of the metal crate and ripped it open. It was another Lycan. This Lycan snapped it's jaws at Jayce and violently tried to fit it's entire body into the hole it had made. Jayce had to put up both his feet against the Lycan's shoulders to keep it at bay, all while he was trying to move further back in the crate. The Lycan's forceful slamming of it's own body against the crate began to work and the metal was ripping open allowing the Lycan to get in more. As Jayce reached for his gun the Lycan's teeth snapped inches from his face and he had to abandon the chance of getting the gun in order to stick his right hand underneath the Lycan's jaw and keep it from his face.
As the Lycan continued to push itself further into the crate Jayce was getting closer and closer to meeting an end by having his face bitten off. So with all his other limbs currently occupied, Jayce reached up with his left arm and began curling his arm toward the large splinter in his shoulder. The pain was intense and he could feel bursts of pain directly from his nerve, which had been stabbed or cut by the large splinter. When Jayce finally reached it he took hold of it and pulled it out of his shoulder. The pain was worse than the actually pain of getting the injury. With the splinter in his left hand he moved his head one more time away from the teeth of the Lycan and then he stabbed the wooden shiv into the Lycan's right eye. The Lycan roared and tried to pull it's body out of the crate but it was stuck by the metal that was now bent inwards preventing it from pulling out. Jayce then lifted up both feet and rolled his body up like a ball. Then with all the muscles in his abs and legs he straightened out his legs and pushed the wooden splinter deep into the brain of the Lycan. The Lycan flailed around for a few seconds before coming to a twitchy end.
Jayce pushed his hair back and took a deep breath. He looked over for Selene, but he couldn't see her among all the broken boxes in the crate. As he was about to get up and start looking for her, the Lycan was ripped out of the metal crate and Eve stood there holding it from it's left leg. "Shit!" -Jayce. Before he could reach for his gun Eve grabbed him by the throat and flung him out of the metal crate. Jayce flew through the air and passed over a pile of metal crates before falling and crashing into the side of a metal crate. He put his arms out in front of himself to defend his face. He hit the side of a metal crate and left a huge dent in it then he bounced off and fell to the floor. The impact left him stunned for a few moments.
Scene 9
Queen Calypsa was watching everything transpire from her room that now had a broken window. She could see Eve scrounging through the metal crate undoubtedly looking for her mother. The queen walked over to her throne. She cleared the furs off of it and the frame of the actual chair was golden. On the back rest of the chair were five small holes. The queen stuck her right hand fingers into the holes and some mechanical device inside clicked. A small part of the chair opened up to reveal a small hidden compartment. Inside this tiny compartment was one syringe, although it looked like there was space for two more. The queen removed the syringe and put it into her sleeve. When she was done with that she went over to a control box and she pulled a lever down. The freighter started to shake.
The large metal doors that were covering the spot where the cannon had been were opening up again. Eve looked to the large doors but saw nothing. The screeching began like a silent hum. The feral Vampires burst from to the surface of the boat like lava spitting from a volcano. They screeched and snarled at the moon and began searching for blood to feed on. Upon hearing the screeching Jayce rolled to his feet. The feral Vampires landed atop the metal crates near him. Without waiting for them to make the first move Jayce drew his guns, but instead of shooting he ran. He ran as fast as he could down the long twisting path of metal crates. The feral Vampires chased him like a flow of rushing water, crashing into the sides of the metal crates and stepping over each other. He ran all the way to a security door. He spun the watertight lock and got in. As he tried to close the door the feral Vampires slammed their faces into the metal door trying to bite at him. He didn't have enough strength to fight with a herd of Vampires but there was a lever titled, Door Lock. Jayce reached over with one hand and pulled the lever. A Vampire bit onto his metal arm guard. The giant metal door began to close itself using powerful machines designed to stop ocean water from rushing in. The feral Vampire's head was chopped clean from his body by the door.
Selene woke up and she was laying on the floor of the overturned metal crate with multiple boxes on her. She pushed the boxes off of herself and pulled herself out of the debris. She could feel the pain of her stomach healing itself, it felt much like having a severe wound then pouring alcohol on it. She held her stomach tight as she walked out of the metal crate. Eve was standing outside the crate looking on as the feral Vampires scanned the ship for human blood to drain. "Eve, where's Jayce?" -Selene. "The Hunter? He's gone." -Eve. "We should leave." -Selene. "Why they are Vampires like you?" -Eve. "No, not like me. They are blood deprived, it makes them insane they will turn their attention to us soon." -Selene. Just as Selene said that a feral Vampire landed to their right. At first it did nothing but sniff the floor. Selene and Eve took a step away from it. The twitchy beast then looked to them and tilted it's head to the side. Without warning the feral Vampire began screeching with an unbelievably loud pitch.
Eve rushed forward and grabbed it's head and smashed it inwards upon itself until the brains scattered out the top. But it was too late. The other feral Vampires across the ship were all looking towards them and they began screeching as they sprung toward them like crickets. There were over two hundred feral Vampires all jumping or running towards Selene and Eve. Selene took one more step towards the boat they had come here on when a feral Vampire jumped onto her back from behind and sunk it's fangs into her shoulder. The beast was ripping and tearing at her skin. Eve tried to help, but she was also pounced on by a feral Vampire from behind. The Vampires began to swarm them. For every feral Vampire they threw off or killed two more latched onto them and bit into them. Selene was wrestling with two feral Vampires when another stuck it's teeth into her stomach wound and started biting out pieces of her. Selene threw the other two over board and grabbed the one latched onto her stomach and ripped it's jaw off of it's face, then pulled she the skull open. It was so horrific and bloody that it felt like something Eve would do. Selene dropped the body on the floor and looked on as Eve was being piled on by feral Vampires.
The reason Selene moved her coven to Krystal City was to start over, to avoid fighting and conflict. It seemed that fighting and conflict would follow her wherever she went. Selene reached into the metal crate and pulled out two of the machine guns. She opened fire on the disgusting abominations that were biting into Eve. When all of them had been blasted away Selene turned her attention to the oncoming feral Vampires. Although they could not be killed by the bite of another Vampire Selene and Eve could feel the feral blood pumping through their veins as they massacred the nasty Vampires. This many bites could easily lead to them becoming feral. When Selene's guns ran out of bullets she dropped them and grabbed Eve by the shoulder to pull her away. Eve was ripping the arms off a feral Vampire that was already dead. Eve pulled her shoulder away from Selene, but Selene wouldn't have Eve's bad attitude right now. She reached around Eve's neck and pulled her away from the fight. Selene dragged Eve through the ship and then she found a door leading into the internal parts of the ship. She opened the watertight door and she dragged the angry Eve in with her.
Queen Calypsa was watching as this entire battle happened, she was giddy with joy in watching Selene and Eve being bitten over and over by the feral Vampires. She was laughing and clapping to herself while sitting on her throne. It was then that she caught sight of another small boat headed towards the freighter. This one was expected though. The queen was so excited to finally get what she wanted. Of course she would still destroy Krystal City just for fun. On the small boat heading over, there were five men, the four that worked for the Queen Calypsa and the fifth being Darwin who was shackled and sitting in the middle so he didn't try and jump overboard. It was now time for the queen to go down herself. She grabbed her Naginata and she began making her way down the long stair case.
Scene 10
Queen Calypsa walked out onto the floor of the freighter and the feral vampires backed away from her making a circle of about thirty feet in diameter around her. They didn't dare come near her. She walked over to a device that is like a small crane for bringing little boats up onto the freighter. She looked at the buttons but they weren't labeled. She looked at the over turned metal crate. "Raynon! Get over here!" -Calypsa. Almost immediately the super Lycan broke out of the metal crate and pounced across the freighter towards the queen. When he took him human form the sword and knife Jayce had stabbed into him here still inside his body in the exact same place. He pulled the knife and sword out of his body and pierced them into the floor. "Why aren't they dead yet?" -Calypsa. "I guess I was more tied then I wanted to admit." -Raynon. Calypsa grabbed the much larger man's ear and pulled him down to her level so she was speaking into his ear. "That's not good enough. Now turn this thing on!" -Calypsa. Raynon did as she asked pressing the large red button that started the crane.
The men on the boat hooked themselves to the much larger ship and Raynon activated the crane and they began rising out of the sea. Darwin was gagged and cuffed, he shook his head as the boat reached near the top of the crane. Raynon took hold of the boat when it was close enough and guided it onto the floor of the freighter. The feral Vampires were still keeping their distance and they weren't screeching. The four men who were actually Vampires themselves got off the boat and carried Darwin off the small boat. They knelt him down on the floor. "Pick him up and take the restraints off he wont try anything here. Would you Darius?" -Calypsa. The thugs did as she said. Darwin rubbed the place where the cuffs had been. "Did you not see this coming Darius?" -Calypsa. "Yeah did you not see this coming?" -Stout leader. Calypsa looked over at Raynon. "Eat him right now." -Calypsa. Raynon transformed into his super Lycan form. The stout leader tried to jump off the boat but Raynon caught him by his feet. He lifted the Vampire up over his head and dropped him into his mouth. He then chomped down on him a good twenty times and swallowed. Raynon transformed back into a human and held his stomach. "Ugh taste like garbage." -Raynon.
The queen was still smiling. The other three men were nervous now. "I didn't come all this way to have someone repeat my questions to you. I could have stayed in Egypt if that's what I wanted." -Calypsa. Darwin looked around the boat. "It looks like you're running low on henchmen out here. What's the matter Krystal City too much for your great army?" -Darwin. "And that makes you happy does it? That your little patch of dirt at least slowed me down? I can replenish my ranks in one night. Can your city grow back overnight? What about over fifty years or two hundred years? I think after I turn it into a sinkhole no one will ever come back to this place. You know the governments might even drop a bomb here making the land and air infected. No one will ever live here again. And in five hundred years I will bring you back here and show you as you choke on your own blood the desolation that will be your only accomplishment in life." -Calypsa. "Only if you succeed in destroying it." -Darwin. Queen Calypsa started laughing. "You think these humans can stop me? I could kill them all with my bare hands! They couldn't stop my army and they won't save you, you're a Vampire! They hate you!" -Calypsa.
"You said they could not stop your army, please tell me then what that is?" -Darwin. He nodded towards the docks of Krystal City. Calypsa and Raynon turned around. From here they could see the night sky lit up by the fire burning uncontrollably from their second freighter that was docked in Krystal City. Calypsa turned around and sliced Darwin's stomach open with her naginata, she then reached into his wound and grabbed his intestine. She was close enough to whisper in his ear. "They won't save you." -Calypsa. She pulled his intestines out and dropped the line on the floor she then stuck her naginata through it and kicked Darwin away. He flew away until the organs in his body unraveled and ripped apart dropping him about twenty yards away. She went over to him as he grabbed at the hole in his stomach Calypsa sat on his chest and stabbed her weapon into his shoulder to pin him down. "Where is my formula?!" -Calypsa. Even through all the pain Darwin managed to chuckle at her. "You won't find it because I gave it to the Hunters!" -Darwin.
Calypsa looked vacant as she just stared out at the sea. Raynon came to her side. "My queen what do you want us to do?" -Raynon. Then the gears in her head started to turn and she hatched a brilliant idea. "The key ingredient in the formula is the Hybrid DNA taken when he was ripped apart! Until just recently we though that to be unique, but it isn't there is another Hybrid and she is right here on this ship! Find her Raynon and subdue her. If you can't, tear her limbs off and collect as much of her blood as possible so that we can synthesize our own formula!" -Calypsa. The three men picked up Darwin. "Take him to the containment room, he has the rest of eternity to suffer, right now we need to find this Hybrid." -Raynon. Calypsa stood at the edge of the boat with her palms resting on the ledge. Raynon came up behind her. "I will find her and capture her. She is hardly a warrior at all." -Raynon. "Yes, but in terms of physical strength she is actually stronger than you." -Calypsa. "Perhaps, but strength is not all that matters in a fight." -Raynon. "You're right, but I don't want to take my chances." -Calypsa.
The queen turned around and poked the syringe into Raynon's chest. Raynon took hold of the needle and then looked back at his queen. "We never tested double the dose." -Raynon. "No, we didn't. But now is as good a time as any." -Calypsa. She stepped away from Raynon. He fell to his knees and then his right arm expanded into a thick monstrous arm of muscle and patches of fur. He howled at the moon as his neck began to tighten and grow thicker and more muscular than before. Every part of his body was growing and his face began to crack as the bones realigned themselves into a failed cross of the original Hybrid. Unlike Michael, Raynon's transformation was hideous and overly muscled, he was stuck in a cross between a Lycan and a human with no beautiful features. When he stood back up on his feet he stood at ten feet tall and his body was so muscled that he cracked the freighter floor with his weight. Calypsa looked on fairly impressed with her hideous creation. "How does it feel?" -Calypsa. Raynon's voice was heavier and much more creature like. "This isn't even my Lycan form yet." -Raynon. He howled at the moon with a deeper, louder howl than any other creature that ever existed on planet earth.
End episode 9
