It was time for the Master to assign the new Missions and Natsu felt that today there will be some interesting results. He turned to Lucy to tease her about almost failing last week's assignments and was met with the back of her head. He frowned on her absentmindeniness and turned his attention back to the front of the class where all the magic was happening. Literally.
What Natsu took as Lucy's ignorance to the class was only her thoughts on Cancer, one of the Spirits in her keys. I think he has his brains somehow scrambled. Thinking all I need from him is a haircut. A haircut? I have to find out a way how to talk to him without him touching my hair and listening to what I have to say… and then there is his weird obsession with shrimps.
Her thoughts were interrupted by Natsus laugh. He was was going at something like a mad hyena. She turned to him ready to smack his head for disturbing the class and found that everyone in the class were either laughing, like her pink-haired friend, or loudly snickering. Everyone except pair standing in front of the class next to Master.
Gray and Juvia have apparently been selected for a team mission, in their case a two people assignment. She looked at the blackboard and followed the letters that were now being written in white letters. Even the piece of chalk that was writing seemed to be amused about something, which means that Makarov is entertained more than usual.. Lucy became suspicious.
She read the text already written quietly to herself "A pair mission, Juvia L. has chosen Gray F. to be a partner for the mission 'play pretend boyfriend and girlfriend'.."
"Natsu, did Gray knew what the mission is before he agreed?" Lucy leaned in and asked. At the look on Gray's face, he wasn't too happy about current events. Juvia on the other hand was near to fainting from excitement. This explained the overall mood of the class.
"No, he was arguing with Gajeel about something and when Master asked Gray if he agrees, he just said Yes. I mean, talk about dangers of not paying enough attention." Natsu was now calmer, but the grin on his face told that Gray could expect a lot of teasing from him in the days to come.
Lucy gave a small laugh and turned to finish reading the text on the blackboard "…to complete mission, have 3 double dates."
"Settle down people, I need to know who will be the lucky six that will participate as well, but remember they are only the means to complete the task, you will still have to earn your jewels." Master Makarov turned towards the odd pair and waited for Juvia to say something.
But seeing that she was already in her daydreams, turned to Gray, "well, I suppose you can choose as well." If I have to do this, I will drag someone in with me.
Gray looked over his classmates and now his face was wearing a grin that made Natsu loose his. "Oooh shite, this doesn't look good." Lucy frowned and whisper-asked Natsu "Am I missing something here?! Why does he suddenly look as happy as Juvia? Everyone knows he has been avoiding her without giving any reasons why, Natsu do you know something that the rest don't?"
"He will turn this into a game, where someone has to suffer the same fate as him…" Natsu whispered back, hoping that Gray just won't do what he thinks he will do.
"Yes, Master, I have a very good idea of few people who will do the part. Erza and Jellal. Levy and Gajeel. And…. Natsu and Lucy." Dammit Gray! And here I hoped that I could have this Mission with Lucy. Natsu cursed under his breath.
Two sets of loud WHATs were heard in the classroom. From Lucy and Juvia. Lucy thinking she wasn't ready to date Natsu yet. And Juvia because in all her daydreaming she missed the part of double dates and was thinking that Gray was now asking the blonde on a date. Let's not forget to mention, that the only things Juvia's mind caught were 'date… Gray… lucky participants… do the part… Lucy'
The bluenette turned towards Lucy and launched whirls of water at her. Natsu quickly vaporised them with his fire breath and grabbing Lucy by her hand run out of classroom, before Makarov could finish writing the names on the blackboard.
