Hazel's POV
We all came back to Rachel's story in a rush. I heard that mission "Get Rachel to know Leonardo (Leo's name in this case)" was an ace. Leo was so lucky. We decided he got to be a handsome servant while I got to be a maid. A maid! This black dress with white lace was so freakishly annoying.
Piper got to be the pretty dress designer. She loves the job. She gets an awesome uniform that slightly looks manga!
Annabeth, well, every time she enters her story, she'll become Annarella. So she became Annarella again, but this time, in the Ariel story. I kind of envied her amazing gown. It was an elegant green with a velvet full length skirt.
I walked to Annabeth, who was eating with Prince Percy and Rachel.
"Hello, Percy," I curtsied.
Annabeth's eyes widened and Prince Percy raise an eyebrow. "I mean, Prince Percy. So sorry. I was thinking of my... my... Cousin. His name is Percy."
"I've never seen you around here," Prince Percy noted. "What is your name?"
I glanced over at Rachel. "Arabella," I replied. I once knew this girl named Arabella. She was so nice and beautiful. Too bad she's probably and old lady now.
I heard a deep sigh from Rachel.
I turned to her. "I hear you are Ariel."
She nodded, pretending she couldn't speak. I knew she could, she was just talking to Leo.
"She can speak you know," Annabeth blurted.
Rachel gave out an alarmed cry.
"Darling, she cannot," Prince Percy said.
"Talk, Ariel. She just gained her voice back this morning. Am I right, Ariel?" Annabeth carried on, confidently.
"You're right, Your Highness," Rachel replied.
"Well, that's wonderful!" Prince Percy exclaimed. "Now, you can come to the ball tonight and talk."
I snickered. I wasn't used to Percy being all formal. But this isn't actually Percy. I reminded myself. Then, I ran back inside the castle to check on Piper and Leo.
"There is a ball tonight!" I shouted.
Piper let out a squeal of happiness. "Awesome! This is the perfect chance to show off Mr. Hot-Stuff here!"
"Oh great," Leo mumbled. "What are you gonna make me dress like? snobby Prince Percy?"
Piper grinned. "You'll see."
Rachel's POV
What was going on here? First, I run into the handsome servant, Leonardo and his friend, the dress designer, Serena. Then, Princess Annarella is acting more like a teenager than when I first met her. Next, there's Arabella who looks exactly like Hazel! Was I hallucinating?!
Serena hummed "Love Story" as she passed by my room. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw me and stared at me. "Need help for the ball, miss?" She asked politely.
"Sure," I answered. Her outfits were pretty sweet. I could learn I thing or two.
"Alright!" She skipped to the wardrobe. "Boring, boring, boring, boring." She looked back at me. "I could always make something...?"
"Perfect!" I agreed.
"Yay!" she cried and ran out of my room. "Be back in a few hours! I can make a dress really fast!"
She made it super fast. She came back in my room with a really modern high-low dress. The skirt was sheer and light green with a strapless white top. A sparkly golden belt clung on to it.
"It'll be highly popular in 2014," she told me. "I gurantee."
How did Serena know so many teens wore it nowadays?
She shoved it at me. "Put it on!"
So I did. It was pure awesome.
"It brings out your fiery hair!" Piper noted. Then, she sat me on a chair in front of a mirror and hummed while she pinned my hair up. I knew this humming turned to singing.
You are beautiful in no matter what they say. Words can't bring you down, no. You are beautiful in every single way. Yes, words can't bring you down. Oh noooo...
Ahah! I did know this song! It was Beautiful by Christina Aguilera! This had to be Piper!
"What are you singing?" I asked casually.
Serena/Piper looked troubled. "Beautiful," she answered anyway. "By Renee Overson."
I scrunched my eyebrows. She seemed so sure of herself. "Then what were you singing awhile ago?"
"Love Story," she replied. "By Tiana Stewart."
"Oh," I said, disappointed. "Okay."
"There." She stepped back as she put the last pin in my hair. "Perfect."
My hair had turned into a pretty flower sitting atop my head. Serena placed some sparkly gold dangly earrings in my ears.
"You've outdone yourself!" I exclaimed, hugging Serena.
"That's my job," Serena smiled. "Fashion designer. Now I have to go get ready for the ball myself!"
She rushed out of my room, happily, like she'd just finished a task.
Piper's POV
Time to dress up Leo! I scurried into his room and slammed the door shut, a white tuxedo with golden cuffs in my hand. I thrusted it out to him.
"Hello, Leonardo." I grinned. "You're gonna look charming tonight."
"Ugh," Leo groaned.
When he finished putting it on, I gave him a light green tie that matched Rachel's skirt. Neither Rachel nor Leo knew they were going to match tonight. I smiled to myself. And surely, they would stand out. Everyone else would be in old fashioned clothes. They, however, will party 2014 style!
I gave Leo golden shoes.
"Golden shoes?" Leo shouted, astonished. "Are you out of your mind?!"
"Relax," I told him. "You can be Michael Jackson. He rocked golden shoes."
Leo rolled his eyes and slipped them on.
"Knock 'em dead, Leonardo," I punched his arm lightly.
He chuckled. "I will, Beauty Queen."
I watched him leave, and I ran to Annabeth's room. Hazel and Annabeth were already in there. I whipped out three dresses. "Feast your eyes on these!" I cried.
Annabeth and Hazel gasped.
Annabeth's was a strapless black dress, only it reached to her knees. I gave her golden chains and black pumps. She rushed into the bathroom to change.
I got Hazel a white halter dress. I thought it would bring out her chocolate skin color. Her accessories included a golden choker and golden cuffs with gold gladiator sandals. She stared at me.
"Something more modern for you," I said simply.
She nodded and went into the closet to change.
For me, I chose a light blue strapless top that I tucked into a white, sheer, swishy skirt. A little silver chain with a heart charm hung from my neck. Diamond earrings sparkled on my ears.
Annabeth put her hair in royal curls and put a hair clip on her head.
Hazel simply placed a golden flower on one side of her hair.
I curled my hair and pinned it to one side.
"This is it," Annabeth announced.
Hazel nodded. "Mission #2: get Rachel to fall in love with Leoardo. Ready?"
I grinned. "Let's do this."
