Under the slowly setting sun, Luka kicked a stray dented can into a random direction as she walked in a rather shady alleyway, looking quite down and pissed at the same time. "Why the hell am I feeling like this?" She stopped on her tracks for a moment and glared at the concrete ground before her for no reason.

"Heck I should be feeling happy!" She clenched her fists, feeling incredibly frustrated with her feelings for the first time in forever since she liked to think of herself as a calm and collected person. Though with her feelings seeming to be out of her usual grip for the past few days, she was growing increasingly irritated. Not that very fond of the sudden change she was experiencing.

Just a few days ago, a certain tealette whom she liked to (affectionately) call "the annoying pest" has suddenly disappeared from the face of the Earth since the day she had her last conversation with the girl, which always made her face go tint into different shades of red every time she recalls it.

Back when the girl has just transferred into their school, she took interest on the supposedly unapproachable pinkette and tried to befriend her. Of course the pinkette flat out rejected her advances, but the girl just couldn't take no for an answer. So the tealette continued annoying her everyday, sometimes it even makes Luka wonder if the tealette was doing it on purpose to irritate her or something else.

Since the girl seemed to enjoy still being with her even though she always rejects her and all.

Everything in her uneventful and lonely life (which she furiously denies every time the tealette questions her that) changed when the tealette came into her life. As months passed the pinkette started to actually warm up to the girl and even sometimes accepts her advances, to which often elicits a tease from the tealette making the pinkette deny whatever it was almost immediately.

All was normal, for the pinkette until the tealette did something very uncharacteristic from her usual secretive mischievous self.

The day where Luka last saw Miku, was when the tealette showed the pinkette a genuine and vulnerable side of her, and confessed to the pinkette.

Teal and pink haired teenagers sat against a high wired fence on their school's rooftop, eating on their own respective lunch boxes. Miku stabbed a neatly sliced piece of leek from her lunchbox with her fork as she stared at the clear sky above them, then placed the food in her mouth afterwards absently. Seeming to be deep in thought while she chewed her food slowly, which was a rather rare expression for her to sport.

Luka glanced at the tealette beside her who seemed to have her head with the clouds for the umpteenth time that day, she really didn't know why but the way the tealette was being unusually quiet was making her feel disconcerted for some reason. Usually, the tealette would do something to annoy the pinkette right now, whether it might be teasing or food snatching, she always did something. But right now, she did, nothing.

And this made Luka worried.

Though of course she would never openly admit that thought.

She wanted to ask the tealette if there was something wrong, but her obnoxious pride was getting in the way, thus making her begrudgingly dismiss the idea. Besides, for once, she'd always wanted a peaceful lunch like this. No distractions, no irritations.

Right?

But why was this sudden change of personality on the tealette was bothering her? Shouldn't she feel happy?

Furrowing her eyebrows in thought, her fork lay forgotten in her hand as she stared at the pink lunchbox with half eaten contents inside before her.

"Ne, Luka." She heard Miku silently call her, probably for the first time since they ate.

Fumbling on her fork which she almost lost from her grip at the sudden voice, she managed to croak out an answer. "Y-Yeah?"

"Do you hate me?" Miku asked out of blue, her teal gaze now boring into Luka's deep azure eyes.

As usual, her expression was unreadable to the pinkette, however today.

Her expression seemed so, fragile.

"W-Wha..?" The pinkette looked into her scattered brain for an answer, she was sure as hell she didn't hate the tealette, she actually.. likes her. But as if she was going to tell her that, so due to that, being her stubborn self, she answered with her usual stuck-up voice in her words. "N-No, but I-It's not like I like you either!" She looked away from the girl when she landed her gaze on the pinkette, trying to hide the tint on her cheeks.

The tealette forced a smile, which didn't go unnoticed to the pinkette. "I'm still glad then," She looked back at the sky. "I thought you hated me."

"Why..." Luka unknowingly blurted out as she stared at the tealette in confusion. An unknown feeling growing in the pit of her stomach.

Why was she like this?

Why?

What's wrong?

Luka shook her head, apparently trying to get rid of her thoughts. She felt so stupid that day, and she disliked it. However who would've thought that something like that was going to happen? No one, not even the almighty diva named Megurine Luka.

The bell had already rung, they had to go back to resume classes, thus making Luka sit up from her seat and fix herself up. The girl accompanying her did the same, however she didn't brush her skirt or anything, she just simply stood while holding her half-empty teal lunch box. After the tealette's sudden question earlier, she hadn't talked since then, and it was making Luka feel crazy.

It was so odd that the pinkette couldn't help but get bothered by it.

Luka gave Miku one last glance and saw her staring at the ground, her bang hanging over her eyes shrouding it with shadow. Deciding that her weird behavior was enough, the pinkette was about to speak up until the tealette beat her to it.

"Luka.." She heard the girl's voice call out her name, making Luka's eyes widen at how delicate it sounded.

"I have to tell you something really important..." Miku trailed off as she looked up to meet Luka's surprised eyes, it was now or never. "...so please hear me out, at least this one last time..." She rubbed the back of her neck timidly, a rather forced smile planted on her features.

The rare display made Luka's heart pound.

Why?

Why was she acting like that?

Luka didn't like it.

"Luka I..." Miku tried to croak out, but she felt like there was something stuck in her throat. She was scared, scared that she's going to lose the only thing she has from Luka, their weird companionship. But she didn't trust herself either, she might do something that she didn't meant to and ruin it quickly just like that. Because frankly, her feelings for the pinkette was starting to grow a little too much, to the point that she wanted to hug her, hold her close, kiss her. Which will probably only make things worse.

So she decided to come clean before anything like that happens.

However, it was harder than she thought.

She didn't want to lose Luka.

Ah. The feeling that she felt the first time she met her, she never thought it would develop into something disastrous as this.

Love.

"I... I love you, Luka..." She looked to the side, her face completely flushed while Luka only looked at her in bewilderment.

Of course.

Miku bit her quivering lip, then closed her eyes at what she was about to lose.

"...so very much..."

It hurt.

As silence continued to engulf at the shock-ridden pinkette, Miku took that as the cue of rejection, making her let out a sad smile. "Sorry..."

"I should get going now, good bye. Luka.." The tealette ran away from the frozen pinkette and left the rooftop.

Since then, she was nowhere to be seen.

Luka widened her eyes when the next can that she kicked had hit someone on the head which appeared to be a street hooligan doing something in the most shadiest corner of the alley. What was it they were doing? Luka didn't even want to know. Why'd she take this route again? Oh yeah, because her head was up in the clouds.

Facepalming at her stupidity, she slowly took a step back trying not to alert the two thugs any more when one of them cried out in pain. However she was too late, as the other looked around and found her quickly. They looked beyond furious at the distraction and now faced her completely, revealing them to have a white wrapped smoking paper in between their mouths and a piece of wrap on each of their hands, a white powdery substance present on it.

Oh no. Those aren't what Luka's thinking wasn't it? Oh dear god, please let it not be drugs.

Drug-induced people are not negotiable.

When they noticed that it was a well-endowed girl that had hit them, a thought struck them in their clouded minds. "Oi, I think I've had enough skags fer now." One of them impishly smirked at the still pinkette before them.

"Hehehe." The other snickered balefully.

"Come here little missy, let's have fun!" They taunted the girl as they slowly approached her.

Luka was scared out of her wits.

Her feet felt like it was glued to the ground, her limbs were shaking, her throat suddenly felt incredibly dry and she was practically sweating cold water.

Shit, was the only thought circling in her blanked out mind.

Luka then decided to follow her guts, however, it certainly didn't help.

"As if I'll buy that crap from crummy ruffians such as you people!" She impulsively screamed at them, making them stop on their tracks.

Which apparently, made things worse.

A look of dangerous anger crossed their faces making them run for the girl who had started to finally move from her spot and run. However, it seemed like luck wasn't with her today and was caught with her forearm, the thug that caught her forcibly shoving her back to the wall.

Oh my god, she certainly didn't want her first to be this way. No shit, she wasn't going to let herself be raped in the first place!

Luka fought them as they tried to implant her to the wall, she thrashed on about but didn't had strength to push them off, making her helpless in the end. She then tried to scream bloody murder in their steel pain inducing grip, hoping that at least some kind samaritan would pick up on the urgency of her voice, however she had received a punch in the gut instead, making her cries of help become a cry out of pain.

"Stop being noisy you bitch!" He punched her gut once again making her now whimper in pain in attempt to shut up, not wanting to get slugged anymore, she just bit her lip intensely and shut her eyes, tears now pouring out of them.

No...

"Hurry up man! I want to play with her too y'know!" The other said with vile eagerness in his voice, he even licked his lip. Yuck.

"Let's take off her clothes first..." He replied, his eyes glazing with uncontrolled lust as he slowly went for the silently crying pinkette's bust.

No!

"M-Miku..." Luka softly said in between her snivels and tears. "...save me..."

She still wanted to apologize to the tealette.

The man was now touching her breast making her bite her lip more, not caring that there was already blood starting to ooze out.

And finally, be honest with her...

"YOU BASTARDS!" A shrill scream stopped the drug-induced rapists from what they were doing and snapped their attention to the person who made the noise, and before they knew it, the man who was touching the pinkette was now flying a few distance away from the disturbed Luka. Rendering the other thug frozen in shock.

Finally registering the teal blur that dashed in front of Luka as Miku, the said girl currently had an outstretched hand and was breathing heavily with her jaw tensed before her. It was mind-boggling on how the tealette suddenly appeared out of nowhere on the spur of the moment, however it wasn't unwelcomed. If she wasn't so pathetically shaking right now Luka would've even hugged her.

However she quickly dismissed the latter when she noticed the expression on the tealette's face.

She looked very angry.

As Miku started beating the other guy into a bloody pulp, which was surprising if you take note of her petite frame. Luka slid down from the wall and clutched a part of her chest where her heart was situated.

Her heart was beating so fast as if she'd run a marathon.

She even noticed that she was still shaking, making the pinkette envelop her arms around herself in attempt to calm herself.

She was just so shaken, so scared.

It had never happened to her before so it was all new to her.

Luka was brought out of her stupor when she heard a body hit the floor and looked up only to see that it was the other hooligan earlier. His face can hardly be even identified.

Luka shivered.

Note to self, never anger Miku.

Averting her gaze from the beat up guy, she landed her eyes on Miku who was breathing erratically as she wiped a sweat off her brow. Aside from her bruised hands, Luka noticed that there were dark bags under her eyes and looked thin as if she hasn't eaten for days. Although it didn't seem like it since she just freaking beat two fully-grown men out of their feet, she still looked frail.

And right now, she looked like she was about to faint.

Wait a second, she's indeed falling oh my god that wasn't supposed to be meant literally.

Forgetting her shaken state, Luka quickly stood up to catch the tealette in her arms, which was fortunately successful and let herself fall on her butt, albeit painful she didn't care as she stared at the unconscious tealette on her lap. Damn she seemed so pale, paler than her pale complexion. If that made sense, however even though the tealette looked so sickly right now, to Luka, she was still fascinating.

Luka was brought out of her fascinating thoughts when she heard Miku stir awake with a groan and saw her open her eyes, revealing the teal color that the pinkette had started to love so much.

"Luka...?" Miku mumbled softly as she stared at Luka.

"Miku..." Luka wanted to cry in relief that she was safe, not fully unconscious as she thought she was and also because at how weak Miku looked right now. It really tugged on the pinkette's heartstrings, she didn't like seeing the tealette like this, at all. She didn't even notice how selfless that sounded.

"Are you alright...?" The tealette asked despite looking much worse in shape than the taller girl. Luka's lips quivered and held up the tealette's upper body and hugged her tightly, making Miku feel confused albeit warmed with the pinkette's sudden atypical gesture.

"You should ask yourself that, you dummy..." The pinkette embraced the tealette more tighter, but not to the point that she was crushing her current frail body, just with the rational amount of force.

When the pinkette seemed to not be up for talking, the tealette just hugged her back. Savoring the moment to her heart's content, however due to them being so absorbed with each other, they didn't notice the first guy she knocked out stand up from his previous spot and pick up a stray glass bottle.

The drug-user threw the bottle at them which the tealette finally noticed, but since it was already halfway to its destination, which was Luka's direction, the tealette did the only thing she could to prevent the pinkette from getting hurt.

Switch places with her.

The sound of glass crashing illuminated the alley.

A loud curse and footsteps echoed the now silent alley.

Then a shrill scream was heard.

Both pain and despair.

Miku died that day.

BAD END.

Those two words of bolded white accompanied with a pitch black background glared at the player in front of the screen.

The said player who adorned unkempt long teal hair and wore baby blue disheveled pajamas' eye twitched. "Oh come on! I wanted to save her! There must be some kind loophole in that!" She raised her voice at her game console agitatedly. "Damn it, just when the game was going great too." The tealette ranted as she stood on her two feet and left her controller on the floor before scratching her head exasperatedly.

"I need a break." She walked outside her dim room and raised her voice once again, but enough for someone to hear inside the house. "Lukaaa! Where art thouuu!"

"My love! I missed you!"

"Miku? But I've only been gone for hours... You've been drowning yourself in those sim games again! Look at yourself!"

"Nooo! Just shut up and hug meh!"

"Kyah!"
