Martha had tried to tend to Mandy's wounds, but she told the woman that Yusei was more in pain than she was, so Martha tended to him first. When the others had come, they were half naked, making Mandy feel a bit uncomfortable. But when they told her about how they had to pay some tolls to get Yusei's runner there, she couldn't help but smile at them.

They all waited as the doctor tended to Yusei with Martha helping him. Mandy couldn't help but feel guilty. This was all her fault. Why did she have to the Crimson Eye Keeper? Just why?

But then she started thinking of the crash. God it was like seeing her mother die all over again.

Martha and the doctor had come out and everyone got up to hear what they had to say.

"Tell us Doc, how's he doing!?" Crow asked desperately.

"It looks like he'll make a complete recovery," Martha said with a smile.

"He'll need a few more days of rest in bed, but he'll be just fine," the doctor said. "Just keep him from underground duels a lot, okay?"

Mandy sighed in relief. Yusei was okay.

Martha then looked at Mandy. "Now it's your turn, young lady." She walked over to the teen and lightly grabbed her arm to pull her upstairs. "Come with me."

Mandy was a bit surprised, but she had remembered that she was also injured and followed the woman's orders. Once they had come to a room Martha had Mandy sit down as she brought the first aid kit.

"Now lets see bad your bruises really are..."

Mandy hesitated a bit before slowly taking off her blue jean jacket, exposing the very dark bruises on her arms. It had gotten worse when she had taken off her shirt. Not only was her waist bruised, but so was her upper body. Martha was shocked. How could something like this be given to such a young girl like herself.

"Oh dear...Don't worry, I'll patch you up the best I can."

Mandy nodded before taking off her bra and covering her chest so that Martha could start bandaging her. She was bandaged from her chest to her waist, and her arms were saved for last.

"There. All patched up.." Martha then smiled. "Little Mandy Kuso... I haven't seen you since you were a little girl."

Mandy looked at her in shock. "You know me?"

Martha nodded. "Chloe introduced you when you were three years old. Of course, I don't really expect you to remember that."

Mandy then became curious. "What was I like?"

Martha smiled. "You were such a shy little girl. When you met the boys you hid behind your mothers leg a lot."

"Boys?"

"Yusei, Jack, and Crow."

Mandy's eyes widened. "You mean, I've met them before?"

Martha nodded. "Of course, you were only children back then."

Mandy couldn't believe it. She had met Yusei and his friends when they were kids? Unbelievable...

"You and Yusei were especially close."

"How close?"

Martha chuckled. "Well, it was more like close in a puppy love sort of way. How you two were infatuated with each other. I thought you two were promising to marry one another. It was the cutest little thing ever."

Mandy smiled a bit at that.

"Now can you tell me what happened?"

Mandy began to explain everything from the beginning. How Yusei discovered he was a Signer and how she became the Crimson Eye Keeper. After she explained the incident with Kalin, Martha took the time to process the whole information.

"I know it's a lot to think about and all, but..."

Martha nodded in understanding. "I understand completely."

Mandy then explained about the truth behind Chloe's death, which shocked Martha completely.

Chloe and Martha had been close friends, and Martha had worried for Chloe when she had spoken of her plans for the Satellite. When Chloe had died, it brought a deep hole into Martha's heart, but the children she had raised were able to mend it back together. Now that Mandy had explained about her death, Martha honestly didn't know what to think.

"God, it's all my fault Yusei got like this," Mandy said burying her face in her hands in anguish. "He could've gotten killed."

Martha hugged her. "It was not your fault, Mandy, he did it to protect you..."

"He'll be okay, right?"

"Yes, and you will be too. You just need some bed rest."

Mandy nodded before she heard sneezing downstairs. Martha sighed. "They got themselves sick.

"Need help making some soup?"

Martha smiled at her. "Of course, I don't mind."

Mandy smiled at her, already feeling like she had a mother right here with her.
